Gogoat Racing  25 Coin Entry FeeThis is a fun little mini-game that takes place towards the of the month. It is based on the Battle of the Elements forum game but with a few twists! You can select from 5 different mounts:

Sign ups will be announced in a separate topic. There are 2 separate races, each lasting 3 days, whose start time is tailored to availability of racers and the judge. Where able, the start times are varied to accommodate best fit for different groups of racers signed up. We do our best, but it may not always work for everyone so please do not take it out on the mod if you cannot make a start time; it has to work for the mod too. There is a countdown timer for when a race starts once enough interest is met. Rules
1. If you double post you are disqualified.
2. You must use the code provided on race day.
3. Add +5 to every, including your first, post (+ any berries). See example in the post below.
4. Only keep track of your own total.
5. You cannot detract from other players.
6. If you make an error in your calculations you are eliminated*.
Do not modify/delete your posts.
7. Each race lasts 3 days before they time out.
8. The 1st player to 100 wins. Otherwise it's based on highest totals of participating racers. (min 1 post)
9. If you won 1st in the first race, you cannot win 1st in the second. Should you place 1st in the second race, 1st & 2nd place rewards will be swapped.
10. Anyone eliminated or not racing can post either distractions or Oran Berries.[img src="https://johtophoto.com/sprites/items/oranberry.png"]Oran berries act as +1 boosts. The next eligible player can collect all/some/none of the berries and include them in their total. Note: If there's 10 Oran Berries on the field and the next racer only includes 6 in their post, leaving 4 remaining, these are not available for the next racer as they are trampled. Including these will result in elimination! To participate just fill out the form in any current sign up thread. Coins will not be deducted until the race starts.

So feel free to brush up on some history and be prepared for a possible future! Or, mods, feel free to use straight up or get inspiration for a race you're running ;D*Note: For any special race, the first calc error after a Phase Change Post as a result of the special race effect turning on/off will not disqualify you so long as the next post made is correctly adjusted.
WINTER RACE ( Jan '17 -- Ran by The REAL Joey )NOTE: Due to the Winter season, the race course has become quite slippery in places. When a warning post is made, any racers that post during the warning phase will have their points reversed! A second post will be made that will lift the warning meaning you can continue racing as usual. SPRING/SUMMER RACE ( March '24 -- Ran by Caramell 🍬 )Warning: A Flabébé is dancing with the summer breeze and spreading an enticing aroma that makes berries irresistible! Any racers that post during the Warning phase will find that their mount cannot resist eating oran berries along the way. If they miss even one they will stop, distraught, and waste time searching for the trampled berry -- meaning every berry not eaten counts as a -2 to your total! SUMMER RACE ( Jun '17 -- Ran by Lamont )Warning: Parts of the course have been flooded with muddy water! While it's not life threatening, it is difficult terrain. Any racers that post during the Warning Phase will find their progress slowed to only a +2 instead of the normal 5, and any berries thrown during this time will be lost to the suction of the thick liquid. YEAR ROUND RACE ( Jun '17 -- Ran by Lamont )Warning: Something has driven a horde of Zubat out from their cave! They've decided to share their feelings about this to anything nearby by singing the song of their people. Any racers that post during the Warning Phase will find their mounts become confused and their progress is reversed (+5 becomes -5). However, the revitalizing nature of the specially bred Race Oran Berry neutralizes this effect, allowing the racer to proceed as normal so long as at least 1 berry is eaten. HOLIDAY HALLOWEEN RACE ( October '24 -- Ran by Caramell 🍬 )Warning: The ghost Pokemon in the Johto Region are haunting the tracks! Mounts and racers alike are spooked nearly out of their skins by their shenanigans. Any racers posting during the Warning Phase will notice their mounts trying to hide from the ghosts and may run in the opposite direction. Their progress will be reversed slightly and their numbers will actually decrease by -2! (This means subtracting by -2 instead of adding by +5). It's recommended to eat Oran Berries left on the track to regain some traction (+1 per berry, like always). A second post will be made when the ghosts leave.
