I decided to ask this legendary question.
I remember getting mine.....I can't remember the name for the death of me but it was the episode where Ash was going against the Kanto electric gym and meet Raichu.
I don't know what happen to it, but I remember getting it for my 7th birthday.
So what was you peoples first DVD or VHS of Pokemon?

He he he...he......he.....
I never owned any of the videos...my parents, my mom especially, never really got why I liked pokemon so much and tried not to feed my addiction. My best friend, at the time, in elementary school and I would watch the at her house. I'm not sure which ones she owned now as this was years ago.
My first game though was Red for the Gameboy Classic and then I advanced to the Gameboy Advanced and Emerald! see what i did there

We owned the first 2 VHS's from the first season + the one that had the episode where Ash dies cause Haunter & Gengar & them were lonely and wanted friends to play with. Used to watch them a great deal, no idea what happened to them.

I have never owned anything of the series, since I was always so annoyed there were only four episodes on each VHS, and I didn't wanted to pay that much for so little. I think my first DVD was the ovie The Power of One, which I must have bought myself, as I first started to like pokemon, when I was teenager. That one I have watched a lot, and it is still my favorite.
I'm pretty sure I have watched the movies on the television before I bought them though, since I don't like to use money on something I wouldn't like to watch more than once anyway. Unless they were on sale and I decided to buy it, to see what it was all about.

God, time to feel old yet again. My first VHS was, well, the first one (first few episodes of the anime)... I think I have the first 10 of the anime VHSs? Locked in a cupboard somewhere now, probably; can't watch VHSs right now anyway. On top of that, got a few of the movies. Stopped picking them up after Rise of Darkrai. Mid-teens is probably a bit old to be obsessively watching a kids' anime, after all.

First ever VHS (Damn, definitely old) was the first Pokemon movie. Even got a cool Mewtwo card bundled in as well.

My first ever owned VHS of Pokemon was The 1st movie: Mewtwo returned and then 3rd movie Spell of the Unknown. However, I do remember my mother allowing us to rent the 2nd movie "Power of one" from a blockbusters. Greatest thing ever. I loved it. I also watch anime to this day. I have always loved cartoons. Shrugs. At first I did have a conflicting issue with myself about ...well..everything about myself. Especially when I had a little one to take care for then I kind of realized why should I throw away the best part about me? I like cartoons. I like anime and I doubt I will stop watching them. Plus my kid loves it when I watch stuff with 'em anyway. Win/win. And I am in my mid twenties. Yay... sigh. =_=.. Edit: The REAL Joey I too, had the Mewtwo pokemon card. I wonder if I still have it.. I'll update this if I do.
