The Destructive adventure

Tomas has just arrived in Newbark Town from Goldenrod City, after studying for 3 years at the Pokémon University. Here he looks up at the sky and takes in a deep breath of fresh air. And Tomas says; "Finally, it took me 3 years to get here, But at last! I can finally begin this journey." He walks across town, seeing what it has to offer, especially keeping his eyes out for potential action, and restaurants. Tomas has finally arrived at Prof.Oak's Lab to come pick up his pokemon. Inside Tomas finds Prof. Oak fiddling around with some papers. Once Prof. Oak notices him; he greeted Tomas full heartedly and presented the pokemon. Tomas Asked: "I would like a powerhouse pokemon. Which one is more Destructive?" and Prof. Oak Answered: "Well, Charmander is a fire type, but...", "Charmander then." Tomas interrupted him. Oak tried to explain: "I wasn't done..." But Tomas insisted. Tomas then received his Charmander and their Destructive adventure begins!

Rattatas were quite common throughout the region of Johto and by extension most of the Pokemon world. Although it is important to not to be confused with the ever popular rumor of Alolan Rattatas, which were different throughout years of genetic adaptation. These Rattata were plain as plain could be, their stats were interesting for the first few towns, but anything past Azalea could spell trouble for any trainer attempting to use the Pokemon in competitive battling. It just wasn’t practical for someone to indulge in the world of Pokemon, and continue using a rudimentary Pokemon such as Rattata.

Perhaps Tomas would see something special in this rat, as it hopped towards the trainer along his journey. Although there wasn’t many Pokemon that could be seen as “rare” in New Bark town, any Pokemon was exciting to meet for the first time. Tom had to ask himself, should this Rattata be a team member, or just a tool to use as experiential gain? He should answer this promptly, as Rattatas could be seen as very aggressive in the wild. No matter what, Tomas would have to throw out his Charmander for battle.

As Tomas walks staring at his newly gain Charmander; wondering what to do next, Tomas decided to go wondering in the forest nearby. As Tomas was pondering on what happens next, he spots something in the grass. Tomas immediately reached for his dagger and held it by the handle! Glaring into the grass Tomas saw another pokemon; Rattata. remembering that he is a trainer now, Tomas reached for his Charmander yelling; "Alright! Show me what you got Charmander!" and Charmander appeared on the field! Tomas stared in awe at this fire lizard, realizing he hasn't even seen it back at Prof. Oak's lab! The Charmander looked at the field, and saw the Rattata.

And then Tomas gave the command: "Charmander! Use Scratch!"

Charmander then Grinned at the Rattata and came in with a huge lash of his claws!

The fiery pokémon was practically giddy as it was finally released to do battle. The clouds looming overhead gave the area a drab grey look, but with Charmander now out the area lit up from the brightness of its tail flame. The fire crackled and roared, strengthening as the fire type's excitement rose with the sight of his opponent and call from his new trainer. The rattata hissed in its defense, bowing down in preparation for the attack. Claws primed and glimmering in the flickering orange light, Charmander set off toward the purple rat grinning ear to ear.

However, the rattata was not so simple as to just sit there and wait for the two-legged pokémon to trample its way through the grass. With a sudden burst of speed the buck-toothed pokémon disappeared into the grass, leaving a parting wake of the tall blades as it moved. Within seconds Rattata burst through the sea of green and slammed into the red lizard. Charmander grunted from the impact, staggering back. But he wasn't so easily beaten! Taking the opportunity opened up by the little rat landing Charmander swiped downward with his claws, raking the smaller beast down the side.

Tomas, Quite impressed with his Charmander, knows that he made the right choice. This Grinning Fire Lizard is the best thing that could ever happen to him! But Tomas knew that the fight wasn't over, looking down at the Rattata. Carmander is Still standing strong, Since a little impact like that is only prone to get him more excited! Charmander waited eagerly for Tomas to give him another Command. And then Tomas said:

"Charmander! Use Scratch!"

Charmander stared at the Rattata in front of him, preparing his claws again, and the flame on his tail getting more excited! Charmander leaped in for another attack!

It was a sound command, sticking to the offensive when their opponent was so close. This time there was not enough cloud of grass to block Charmander's view of purple fur in the dancing light of its own fire. Rattata remained strong, chittering fiercely in in reply. Unlike the last round the slippery rat didn't slip away with swift movements, likely a little discouraged by the slash down its side, which left Charmander with the upperhand speed wise. The fiery reptile darted forward and made for another swipe of his claws.

The attack landed true, another set of gashing wounds slicing through Rattata's fur. It squeaked in pain, not all too pleased with the turn of events. It took a few bounds to gain a bit of distance from its opponent, almost looking like it was about to just run off, but Rattata spun around and made a dash for Charmander. With a huff Rattata crashed into the fire type, tackling him down into the sea of grass before quickly retreating a few paces away to plan for the next exchange.

As Charmander emerged from the grass; Tomas stares at the Rattata's attempt to fight back; and shoke his head. Charmander is still grinning ear to ear, eagerly waiting his orders. Then Tomas said to Charmander; "Alright Charmander, This is probably your first taste of battle, but I want you to keep head!" and Charmander looked over at Tomas. And He continued; "This Rat is scared and badly wounded, But you must remember that you have taken quite some blows as well!" and then Charmander realizes that its starting to become numb. "But in this next blow, I want you to do your best! you can not miss this blow at all cost!" and Charmander nods his head, faces Rattata, and waits for its command to strike!

The Rattata and its buck teeth surely did quite a number on any foe! The awesome attack was surely a fear for many of the common Pokemon throughout Johto (Pidgey, Hoothoot, Wooper, etc). None of its peers wanted to get in the way of the sharp teeth that it boasted. As we look now, the Charmander was certainly experiencing quite the battle with the rat Pokemon. Although there was nothing rare or appealing about this Pokemon, it was certainly an adversary to any trainer starting out their journey.

Charmander and the Rattata stared each other down in the midst of the battlefield, it was neck and neck! The fire salamander was tired of this tomfoolery; it was time to end this battle. Play time was over; it was time to get serious. The Charmander rushed toward the purple pest, claws ready to usher a devastating blow. The rat Pokemon’s eyes widened, realizing that the end was near. Charmander swiped the foe, blowing it several feet back. This critical attack certainly was astonishing! The starter was quite proud of his battling ability, smiling back at his trainer for a praise due to a job well done.

Charmander gained 2 levels! He’s now level 7! Charmander learned Ember!

It was a hard fought battle, but Charmander prevailed! But Tomas saw something in this Rattata, it would appear that this Rattata had a knack for taking his hits! Thus Tomas decided; "This Rattata seem worthy! I will have him in my team and he shall help me keep the streets safe from The dreaded Team Rocket!" And Tomas threw the a pokeball at the Purple rat! He then turned to face Charmander and said; "Alright Charmander, I am impressed at your fighting skills!", the Charmander was pleased and blew small flames from its mouth! Impressed, Tomas said;"And you even learnt a new move! This is the best day of my life indeed! Let us go celebrate by getting some wood and burning the hell out of it!" Charmander nodded his head, air punching even, as they both went to go get some wood to go burn in celebration of Charmander's victory, new ability, and their new companion! 

When they were done Celebrating, they proceeded to the pokemon center...

Digging through the winter snows made finding any dead fall a bit difficult, leaving the celebrative pair the choice of digging or rustling through the branches above to collect wood to burn. Either one resulted in deviating from the beaten path into the more rough parts of route 29. As their only great means of getting through piles and piles of snow was to melt it down with Charmander's flaming tail and new move that probably wasn't the best idea as that would leave them in a massive pool of freezing water; thus the most reasonable way to get dry-ish wood for their celebration would be shaking the trees above.

This, of course, proved to have its own set of problems. The two managed to obtain a sizeable pile of hibernating branches and set it alight. The fire pokémon was undeniably excited by his fiery prowess. This was only their first outing together and Charmander already had an impressive flame attack! But up above, where the blackened smoke rose into the forest and crackling noise of a fire popped and snapped in an echoing wail, there was a critter having a rather disturbed slumber.

Coughing awake, it seemed a knothole had begun filling with smoke. Hoothoot cooed worriedly, eyes watering as it pulled away from its wondrous sleep to stumble out of its home. Barely aware of where and what, the night owl fell from the branches and sunk into a snow bank not but ten feet away from the new trainer. The avian was flailing and shrieking, disoriented with fear. The little ball of feathers shot up from the snow, a pile formed on its head as it blinked excessively to clear its eyes. The chill of the white flakes helped ease the stinging in its eyes and soon the big red orbs locked onto Tomas.

Hoothoot flapped its wings and scurried to its feet. It angrily hoo'd, not taking long to figure out what had happened with that little fire the two had been dancing around.

Tomas turned around to see what the commotion was about, and saw an owl in the snow, staring at him angrily! Realizing his mistake, Tomas immediately said; "Oh! I am so Sorry Little Creature! I did not mean to disturb you..." And he bowed in apology. Tomas then noticed the look in its eyes, That readiness to fight! And Tomas said; "Alright Then! I like the look in your eyes! I will make you mine!" and Tomas looked down at Charmander, "Alright Charmander, Its time to Catch us a new Ally! Make me Proud and Get Me That Hoothoot!"

Charmander rushed to the field! grinning ear to ear! Ready to take on his newest opponent!

And Tomas said;
"Charmander! Use ember!"

Sensing a battle coming on Hoothoot thought it would be able to outpace Charmander as it's hopping motion was a pretty quick travel method in the snow. Little did Hoothoot know that Charmander were known for their speed and even snow was unable to reduce his mobility in a battle. By the time Hoothoot was able to take notice it was much too late to do anything about it. A small ember left Charmander's mouth as he reached a range close enough to Hoothoot without exposing himself to retaliation. As the ember struck Hoothoot the owl coo'ed in pain trying to brush off it's feathers, once the ember was out the owl had to strike back but was unsure how. As it attempted to close the distance as it hopped towards Charmander it slipped on a patch of ice.

Charmander could hardly stop himself from laughing but just when it appeared Hoothoot had failed in an epic  manner the owl slid towards Charmander at full speed. With a direct hit from an unusual tackle Hoothoot had brought itself back into the fight. The owl could not outpace Charmander but it could outsmart the lizard in hopes that intelligence would carry the day. For now Hoothoot stood back up and watched Tomas carefully waiting to see the young trainers next move.

Seeing the quick wit in the owl made Tomas want it even more! Tomas watch the fight unfold becoming even more engrossed in the thought of having this owl in his team! Tomas looked at Charmander and said; "Alright Charmander! Those fires were looking nice back there! but it wasn't enough, I know the attack is new to you, but that never stopped me! I want you to push up your power to the next level and crank up the heat!" Charmander grinned with the flames ready in his mouth, waiting for the signal to attack!

and Tomas Cried;
"Charmander! Use Ember!"

Hoothoot was in a mixed emotional state at the beginning of the round. It's attack had been successful but it had been so in an embarrassing way. Even so it had kept the battle close enough to still stand a chance of winning with a bit of luck. It would need to find some way to stop Charmander from doing much more damage however as it's healthhad dropped a pretty moderate amount from the first hit of ember. As the owl was no match for Charmander in the speed department it's chance to turn the battle around would not happen until after the lizard could try and take an even bigger lead. Hoothoot braced itself for what would surely be another painful hit.

Charmander fired another small ember towards Hoothoot scoring a direct hit on the owl's left leg. As it flapped it's wings uncontrollably to try and stop the burning sensation as it could not endure it for very long. With it's health now approaching the danger zone Hoothoot had to make use of this turn or it might as well admit defeat now. Trying an old tactic that Hoothoot were known for it's eyes began to glow bright red as it rocked from side to side while looking right into Charmander's eyes trying to put the lizard to sleep. Charmander started to grow woozy however before the attack could put it to sleep the very ice that had helped the owl in the first round hindered it in this round. As it rocked to the left it lost it's footing and slid on the ice breaking it's concentration and causing the attack to fail.

Hoothoot had blown it's only realistic chance of turning this battle around, though it could hope for a miracle there was next to no chance it could turn things around from this disastrous performance. The owl could only bide it's time and pray to Arceus that it would deliver a miracle in this nearly hopeless battle.

The air is becoming chilly, and the sky line is becoming darker, realizing that they must head back to the Pokémon center for the night, Tomas glared at the Hoothoot and said; "Alright you owl, play time is over! its about time we end this!" Charmander stares at the Hoothoot, and starts to grin at the thought of another partner, keeping in mind that his trainer wants it! Charmander started bouncing from one leg to the other in anticipation for his masters next command, small embers leaving his mouth, illuminating the ever darker growing sky

Then Tomas said; "Charmander! Use ember!"
