The "prey-Pokémon" was still putting up a good fight, and it remained determined to protect its branch. It glanced back at its treasure, as if to remind itself why it was fighting, and filled with a renewed sense of purpose. This Rowlet had to fall, so that Rattata could keep its amazing haul all to itself. It hadn't considered the possibility that Ten had any other Pokémon in her possession, much less anything stronger than this owl. The fact that it was an owl Pokémon hadn't seemed to put it off much either. This Rattata was a difficult one to upset, for certain. That could perhaps be a blessing in disguise, provided Ten could best it quickly. This would be difficult, however, if Rattata continued to fight as it had done. And it did just that, hissing violently as it slammed into Tyto with yet another Quick Attack. One would be forgiven for assuming that it knew no other moves, as it hadn't even taken a second to decide on its course of action this time. Tyto jumped back a couple of paces, turning his head around and assessing the damage to his body. Still in one piece, for now, but my lord if his body didn't hurt right now. It was time to end it, for sure. Tyto's body glowed a soft green colour as he started his next attack, as if every fibre of his being - his very flesh, no less - was willing him on to win. He crowed loudly, summoning forth another mass of leaves and other green debris. The emerald-coloured cloud flew toward Rattata, who did little more than spit at its opponent in defiance. It wasn't going to fall so easily, that was for sure. Unfortunately, as the Leafage collided with the Normal type, it seemed that Rattata's body disagreed. Its legs could no longer support it, and the gutsy Pokémon fell to the floor, unable to continue. Wild Battle

Rattata Name: Norve Gender: Male Level: 5 Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Quick Attack Ability: Guts Nature/Personality: Norve is very strong-headed, constantly trying to prove his worth. Suffering from a 'napoleon complex', he constantly puts himself up against larger and stronger Pokemon, and often needs to be rescued by the others on his team. He does not endear himself to Vanderwood, as the Bulbasaur quickly gets tired of having to swing in and save him. 356 words OOC Notes: Tyto learns Peck! ► Ten watched the duo as the Rattata launched its next attack, darting forward almost faster than she could see to slam harshly into Tyto. The Rowlet bounced back a couple of steps, almost like a blow-up punching bag, surveying himself to make sure he could safely continue. Ten also looked him over, assessing the damage done to her owl Pokemon, before nodding and determining him safe to continue battling. However, one more hit and she'd have to switch him out. The scientist jumped, double checking her camera to make sure it was recording as the grass-type started glowing green, his feathers ruffling as there was a sudden sharp smell of plants. 'Overgrow?' The Rowlet summoned another barrage of leaves and plant debris, swarming the rat. Although the rat hissed angrily, it crumpled to the ground, defeated. Sebastene grabbed a Poke Ball, quickly capturing the fainted Pokemon. She named it, and checked over its stats, before stowing away the equipment and her camera, quickly backing up the video of her Pokemon using Overgrow. The young trainer turned to the panting Tyto, recalling him with a murmured “Good job, have a nice rest.”Before heading off further down the route, she stepped over and grabbed the Rattata's beloved branch, stowing it away in her rucksack. Sebastene walked down the route for a bit longer before relenting under the sun, stopping under the shadows of a large tree. Setting her jacket down so as to sit on it, she began fishing things from her rucksack. A thermos, a wrapped sandwich, several collapsible bowls and several containers of foodstuffs. The trainer released her team, whom all took a moment to get acquainted. Ten poured a kibble-like food in the bowl in front of the Rockruff, plant-based cubes of food in front of the Bulbasaur, and quickly fashioned a set of raised bowls for the two bird-Pokemon. The Bellsprout stepped into the sun, tilting back his head and unfurling his leaves to take in the sun. Satisfied that her team was taken care of, Sebastene sat back against the tree, cleaned her glasses on her shirt, and began eating her sandwich.

As Sebastene sat down to eat her sandwich a Pokemon known for its clumsiness slowly made its way towards her . Being a curious Pokemon it would investigate any newcomers it saw even without thinking of the consequences. As it approached the area it began to look around to see what exactly had decided to pay it a visit and it was also trying to decide if it should pick a fight or not if it was a trainer. Before it could make the decision however Saeyoung lifted up her nose as she caught the scent of the intruder and quickly located the clusmy Pokemon. Her goofy demeanor caused her to think that the Spinda was some kind of toy and she went to play bite the poor Pokemon only to realize that it was not a toy at all. Though she did not mean any harm the gesture was enough to anger the wild Spinda enough for it to toss dance around widly in anger and throwing its body around in every direction looking for a way to get some revenge on the young pup. By now no apology would be accepted as it was very upset over becoming a chew toy and a battle would be the only way to calm it down. The only thing Spinda had to worry about was which Pokemon Sebastene would use against it as it waited for the match to begin. A wild Spinda (Level 5) appeared and demands a battle! Please select a Pokemon.

000 words OOC Notes: used TACKLE! ► The Pokemon happily ate their meals, occasionally bickering with one another over the food. These fights were quickly ended by an exasperated Vanderwood, who would snap his vines over-top them to make a loud sound. It didn't injure them, but it did startle them, so that they stopped what they were doing. Their meal was interrupted by the sound of staggering, shuffling footsteps. The team, excluding Saeyoung, who was still happily devouring her meal, looked up, only to see a Spinda staggering towards them. For a moment it seemed the team was going to leave it be, and let the Spinda continue on its way unmolested, but the Rockruff suddenly caught its smell. Before anyone could stop her, the Pokemon charged at the Spinda, sinking its teeth into what she thought to be a chew-toy. The Spinda's cry made the wolf-Pokemon recognize her error, and she jerked back. Before the Rockruff could be dashed by the flailing Spinda's limbs, Vanderwood scooped her up with his vines, setting her down beside their trainer before stepping forward. Shooting a vine back to swat Saeyoung in punishment, Vanderwood charged towards the offended Spinda.

The Spinda was sure that was going to be fighting the Dog like pokemon that had mistaken it as a chew toy. But to it's huge surprise a Bulbasaur had stepped forward instead and charged at them. Spinda was knocked back from the charge as Vanderwood tackled into it. The Spinda feel over before getting back up, what the nerve of it all. The Spinda had done nothing wrong and now it had been bitten and tackled. The Spinda wasn't going to let the trainer's pokemon get away with it. Not at All! After getting back up and regaining enough balance, the Spinda decided to get some payback. Charging to close the small distance between them before doing a more wobbly but similar version of Vanderwood's Tackle. Vanderwood could not dodge this at a close range and skid back a bit from the attack, it doing a bit more then their own. Both pokemon looked to be in good condition still and the Spinda waited for Vanderwood's next move, ready to attack again. Battle

133 words OOC Notes: Used Tackle Used Running Shoes Used Tackle again ► Vanderwood grumbled under his breath as he faced off against the Spinda. It seemed his role was forming quickly – the leader, the punisher, the guide, the defender. Already he'd had to pull the tablet out of Ten's hands twice so she'd eat. And now he had to fight a Spinda after the fur-ball ticked it off. Ten frowned, watching over the two. She'd expected the Rockruff to continue the fight, being the one to initiate. However, her partner, the Bulbasaur, had yanked her away and taken her place. It seemed Vanderwood was determined to fight this Spinda, else she'd have chased it off. Instead, she observed the two, mentally making a note to add this to Vanderwood's files. “Vanderwood!” she called, shifting in her Running Shoes, “Use Tackle, and then Tackle again!”

Vanderwood soon charged once more after being given her orders. Spinda was unable to respond in time and was hit once more, it seemed to do a bit less then the last attack as the Spinda was able to recover a bit quicker this time. "Spinda!" It called out in a hmpf before charged at Vanderwood. Vanderwood did not expect the Spinda to recover quicker from that tackle and was soon hit with another copied version of her Tackle. Vanderwood skid back a bit before letting out a cry. "Bulbasaur!" Vanderwood knew her second order and began to charge at the Spinda again. The Spinda was this and charged back at Vanderwood. Both pokemon hit one another at the same time, Vanderwood's tackle seemingly doing the most damage this time. Both pokemon skid back again, both breathing heavily. Vanderwood seemed a bit hurt as her kept herself standing up, but the Spinda seemed the same. Looks like thing were much more balanced then originally thought. Battle

135 words OOC Notes:threw a Poke Ball at Spinda ► Sebastene 'hmm'-ed, watching as her starter squared off against the Spinda. The Bulbasaur seemed to be taking a leadership position amongst her team, and even with her; the night before, the grass-type had confiscated her laptop when she'd stayed up passed midnight working on a report. It hadn't hesitated to jump in to protect Saeyoung when the pup had attacked a feral Pokemon. It seemed as though the two were evenly matched, as they both seemed breathless after an attack, but neither looked better or worse than the other. Vanderwood shifted his legs, preparing to charge again on his trainer's order. The young scientist looked between the two, before reaching into her rucksack, grabbing an uninhabited Poke Ball, and lobbing it at the Spinda with a warning for Vanderwood to move out of the way.

Vanderwood soon moved out of the way when told to. This allowed the Pokeball that was thrown to freely fly in the air. The Spinda tilted it's head confused, and didn't realise what ti was till the last second. It hit the Spinda on the head causing it to open up. Spinda was forced inside the Pokeball before it fell to the floor. The middle shone in a bright red before it started to wiggle. Vanderwood stood there and watched ready, in case the Spinda got out. One Wiggle, so far so good. Another wiggle, maybe got it. The Spinda seemed to be struggling in the ball, trying to get out. There was a pause then, Wiggle! The middle circle stopped glowing as the signalled a successful capture. The battle was now over, and a new Partner had been found. Vanderwood seemed to nod their head a bit before going back to Sebasten. "Bulbasaur"one... Two... Three.. Looks like the Pokemon is caught. Vanderwood fought well and gained 2 levels Vanderwood learnt Vine Whip!

Sebastene and the rest of her team looked over the battle, watching as Vanderwood stood clear while the Poke Ball shook. It shook one, twice, then a third time before 'Ding'-ing loudly and flashing red. While Sebastene flicked through her tablet, looking for the option to just send the Spinda to her PC, Vanderwood stepped forward and scooped up the Poke Ball with his vines, and dropping it into Ten's lap.As she clicked 'OK' on her gear, the Poke Ball vanished, depositing the Spinda with the professor. Ten quickly uploaded the battle video to the cloud, before standing and stretching, recalling her team excepting for Vanderwood. With the Bulbasaur at her side, she began to stroll down the Route once more, gazing intently at her tablet as she jotted down anything she'd learned, while Vanderwood made sure she didn't trip or fall over anything.Moving onto Cherrygrove | | Words. 145 Tags. @charrie Notes.
