Finally, she'd completed her goal. After years of work, she was finally a member of Team Rocket. However, Haley didn't show it on the outside. She didn't wear a black shirt with a blazing red R, she didn't blatantly walk around showing it. On most days, that is.
However, as she was now on a mission for them, she found herself in their gear. Black jeans, black combat boots, a black hoodie with the infamous R emblazoned on it, black gloves, and a matching satchel containing her team's Pokeballs and necessary gear. Instead of hiding her eye away with her hair, she'd gotten ahold of a black eye-patch with the Team Rocket R on it, and was wearing that.
This mission had brought her to where it had all started: New Bark Town. Where she'd received her starter, and built up her team. It seemed odd that she'd find a rich man in such a small town, but such were the whims of the rich.
Her target was a Meowth, and she couldn't help but wonder what her organization could use it for. Blackmail, most likely. On the dossier it had said that she would most likely find the target surrounded by bodyguards. With that knowledge, she'd ducked into Cherrygrove's Pokemon Center and rearranged her team before donning her gear in the alleyway of a building, out of sight so that she could travel about without being recognized.
For once she had all of her team hidden away in their Pokeballs, tucked safely out of sight. She'd rather not give away the cards up her sleeves before she had to, as she knew she'd have to make her plans on the fly.
Pulling the dossier up on her Gear, Haley looked at where she was most likely to find the target, and began to make her way there.

The estate wasn't a hard one to find. Amongst the rolling hills of New Bark Town there was one particular mass of trees on the northern side close by the route to the mountains that formed a sort of natural fence. The Roswell family was fairly well known in the area, often cooperating with the Professor to supply the starting packs for new trainers beginning their pokémon journey. They were a supportive family, lovers of pokémon, and not the type to turn away someone in need. As the fresh Rocket Grunt made her way closer to the residence she would note the presence of a real fence, eight feet of decorative stone facing topped with the typical iron barring to discourage climbers. If one of the few gates spread around the property wouldn't suffice surely one of the trees encroaching on the fence would provide useful; or perhaps Haley simply came prepared as a good burglar should with rope and grappling hook. Regardless of the route, overcoming the hurdle that was the protective walling would need to be addressed before she could even begin to scout out her target. Though, happy cackles reaching her ears even from a distance would tell her that her target may be in easy sight. Should Haley get a view into the yard she would see a vast yard composing the front where the driveway snaked its way across the lawn into one of the large garages. On either side were the beginnings of embellishing gardens; each of a different kind. On the eastern side was where she would spot the distant spec of a boy scurrying about an artistic arrangement of short hedges surrounding a grand ornamental fountain. And he wasn't alone. A white blur darted in and out of vision rustling through the greenery in chase of the young boy hollering gleefully as he ran. But they weren't alone. Sitting on a near bench was someone dressed in all black, and in similar garb was another individual positioned opposite so between the two they had full view of the garden. The second was at attention, gaze ever on the young lad playing with his pokémon. Target spotted! But how to deal with the guards..? How will Haley proceed?

The estate she was searching for wasn't too far off from the small town of New Bark, which consisted of only a handful of buildings. It was an odd place for a wealthy family to live, but whatever they wished.
Following what was on her Gear, Haley approached the cluster of trees that hid the estate from view. Spotting the fence, she knew that she'd made a good choice in adding one of her rather-unused Pokemon to her team.
With a flick of her wrist, a Spinarak stood in front of her, clicking its pincers and looking around. Haley pointed at the fence, and commanded the spider, “Gohma, I need to get over the fence. Make it happen.”
Gohma clattered her pincers and turned to face the fence, beginning to shoot her webbing. Soon, after layering the webbing several times, she had a thick web splattered over the side of the fencing. Haley recalled the Spinarak and, after tugging on it several times to make sure it was sturdy, scaled the webbing as though it were a rope-web in gym class.
Hooking her hands on the top of the fence, she peered over, observing the bodyguards and the boy. Haley swung herself over the fence, landing in a crouch behind some hedges. She released three Pokemon in front of her – a tiger-like fluffy orange dog that licked at the fur on its leg, a bright green dog that panted dumbly, and a small black and red bird Pokemon.
“Denki, Sirius, you need to distract the bodyguards. I want you two to act like your master needs help, and urgently.” She addressed the Electrike and Growlithe, before turning to the Fletchling. “Otoko, while the bodyguards are distracted I want you to lure the Meowth to me, understood?” With her Pokemon now knowing their orders, Haley slipped off around the building, so the bodyguards would have to search longer to find her if they failed or, if they succeeded, she would have more time to retrieve the target.
The two canids began to nip and bite at eachother's muzzles, drawing blood to the surface. Flailing on the ground, they covered their lower halves in dirt and other muck, looking as though they'd run a fair distance. Overall, they looked like they'd been attacked and run for help.
Splitting up, they darted to opposite ends of the garden and raced to the bodyguards, each approaching a separate person. They began to yelp, cry and whine, tugging at the bottoms of their pants before darting away a distance, spinning around as though to check if they were being followed. If they weren't they dashed back to their chosen bodyguard before darting away once more, trying to convince them to follow.
Otoko waited until she determined the bodyguards were sufficiently distracted before darting forward, fluttering around Claudine to get her attention. She chirped and darted about her like an annoying gnat, before beginning to fly back towards her trainer, looping to make sure the Meowth stayed with her.

Denki and Sirius seemed to be doing well, the bodyguards had their attention. "Whoa there, whats wrong?" One said, before the other spoke. "Easy there, calm down." Denki and Sirius kept at it though before both guards walked away from Claudine. This gave perfect opportunity for Otoko. The fletching had flew over to Claudine and circled round her trying to get her to follow. "Meowth." She said trying to swat Otoko away, but Otoko kept going. After about 3 times for circling and pecking Claudine slightly she gave in. She looked to her owner and sighed before following. They walked/flew all the way towards Otoko's trainer. The boy then looked round and didn't see Claudine. "Huh?" He looked round again to make sure Claudine wasn;t playing tricks. By then Claudine reached Otoko's trainer and tilted their head a bit. "Meowth?" It seemed seeing a new person made her weary about all this. "Claudine? Where are you?" The little boy said which Claudine heard. She turned a bit, not wanting to worry her owner too much. She was thinking of going back, her eyes showing worry for her owner. Meanwhile Denki and Sirius were still keeping the guards busy, making them follow them. "How far are we going hey?" One guard said, "Hopefully this don't take long..." the other said. It seemed things were getting a little difficult now. But could this job still be done? Who knew.
Claudine has come over to you but is weary of you. And the little boy is now searching for Claudine. How do you proceed?

Although the Pokemon didn't know this, Haley had turned this into a test for them. If they failed, they'd be sold off or donated to Team Rocket. So far, however, they were all performing as expected, some even going above and beyond. Gohma the Spinarak was doing very well, especially considering she'd never worked under Haley before. Sirius and Denki were performing as expected, both used to their Master by now and knowing what she expected. Otoko, despite having never worked under Haley before, was doing well, although she hadn't too hard of a job. Batra the Salandit and Tirrika the Ekans were both ready to prove their worth.
Sirius and Denki, both glad their plans worked, began to lead the bodyguards away from their Master, to a distant part of the fenced in estate. As he ran, the Electrike rubbed his fur together, preparing to shock the bodyguards in paralysis if they tried to turn tail. Hopefully they wouldn't notice, as it was known Electrikes stored electricity in their long fur.
Otoko fluttered around Claudine's head, occasionally darting towards her to keep her attention as she lead the felid to her Master. She would show her new Master that she was worth the money spent.
Hearing the bird's chirps, Haley looked up, spying the target approaching. However, she could also just barely hear the boy calling for the Meowth, and the cat turned. The trainer pulled a Poke Puff from her bag, offering it to Claudine. “Here, girl, want a treat?”
However, she wasn't just relying on that. Batra the Salandit was sitting in the shadows behind her trainer, and began to emit a Sweet Scent in hopes of luring the cat nearer. Tirrika the Ekans lay coiled in a nearby bush, and bared her fangs, Poison beginning to drip from her fangs. If the Meowth tried to flee, she would strike. A Poisonous Gas began to pool in the Salandit's long mouth, prepared to release if the target's Master got too close for comfort.

Quite a distance from Haley and her charge, the bodyguards continued to chase after Denki and Sirius, though they were starting to look a little confused as to what the two canines wanted with them. "What's up, boys? Why all the fuss?" As Denki then started to rub his fur together, the guards gasped in shock. They looked around quickly, reasoning that the threat that had hurt these two dogs was probably nearby. However, as they searched they saw nothing of the sort. "Is something nearby?" one of the guards asked Denki, though the Electrike was probably incapable of providing the answer he was after. It only took a few more moments before one of the guards stopped in his tracks, prompting the little Electrike to zap him with a powerful Thunder Wave attack. He fell to the floor, able to do little more than gasp for air at the moment. His partner froze in surprise, which earned him the same treatment in a flash. The two dogs stayed put, watching over the paralysed bodyguards. Back with Haley, the Meowth looked longingly at the Poké Puff as it was offered to her. It certainly looked a tasty treat, for sure. The feline quickly ran toward the sweet and swiped it out of the fledgling Rocket's hands, scoffing it in an instant. She mewled up at Haley, asking for more food immediately. This was one greedy cat, if mothing else. But there was still one complication that wouldn't go away. "Clauuudiiiiine?" came the voice from her master. The Normal type's ears perked up and she looked back again with a calculating expression on her face. She seemed to be deciding between the yummy Poké Puffs and obedience. For the moment, at least, she stayed where she was and returned her attention to her would-be captor, begging again for food as she followed the young trainer. However, before Haley could pull this Meowth much further, Claudine's owner stepped into view. Seeing Haley with his prized Pokémon, his face scrunched up in fury. "Just what d-" But with that, Batra carried out his contingency order and quickly filled the area with a Poison Gas attack. The boy coughed and spluttered, clearly shocked by the sudden attack. However, he was not as shocked as Claudine, who jumped back a couple of feet and hissed. It seemed that the potential harm that might have come to her trainer was making her realise what she was doing. It was time to subdue this creature before she did something that Haley would regret.
Claudine (Level 10) is attacking out of shock! Subdue her and get out of there as quickly as possible!

So far, Haley's first Team Rocket quest was a rousing success. Her Pokemon were exceeding expectations, working together like the cogs of a Klinklang.
Sirius and Denki led the bodyguards further and further from their Master, and Denki was glad that two of his brain cells had jostled together due to the running when the bodyguards stopped, and he was able to instantly launch a Thunderwave to remove them both from the equation. With the bodyguards down, Sirius huffed, and burnt a hole in the shirt of the bodyguard who'd called them “boys”. “I'm a girl!” They each grabbed onto the necks of their shirts and dragged the bodyguards into the bushes, hiding them from sight to reduce the risk of being discovered. They laid in the shadows of nearby bushes, keeping an eye on the felled bodyguards and preparing to shock them again if they came around too soon.
Haley smirked as the feline fell for her trick, and slowly reached for the cat's collar, trying her best not to startle the cat. If she could get out of this without a fight, all the better. Unfortunately, she was startled by the cat's human and jerked back, expecting to be swiped at by the Meowth. “Damn!” However, the feline seemed to be more food-focused than loyal, as Claudine remained standing in front of her. She reached for the cat's collar again, knowing she had several back-up plans in place, only for the trainer to come into view. She lunged forward and grabbed at Claudine, not caring if she got collar or fur, but the cat leaped back before she could, startled by the Poison Gas attack.
“Okay cat, if you're not going to come with me I won't be nice anymore!” Haley snapped her fingers and Tirrika, Poison already dripping from her Fangs, whipped out from the shadows of the bushes she'd been coiled in, lunging at the Meowth.
“Otoko!” the little bird flew and hovered beside her Master, creating a small air bubble around her and enough room for somebody to be beside her. “Gohma, we need him alive.” Gohma clacked her pincers and jumped down from the tree she'd been hiding in, preparing to use String Shot on the other Pokemon's trainer.

(Mod note: I'm having trouble with the idea of Otoko creating an "air bubble"... are you implying that she's blowing away the Gas? That's how I'm interpreting it. 'S really not a bubble though. :P)With the bodyguards now quelled, Haley's canine Pokémon could sit back and relax for a while. Not that their trainer would notice this, as she had more important things on her mind. This Meowth was now proving itself to be quite a nuisance to her, waving her paws around like a bad actor in a martial arts film. A really bad one. Meanwhile, her trainer tried to string together a sentence as he backed away from the weird fog around him. "You won't get... aw... with this! My fam... family is..." At this moment, he seemed to give up on speaking and instead saved his breath. It was possible that he was starting to feel a little unwell from the toxins in the Poison Gas. Covering his mouth, he tried to get away slowly but surely. He could only hope that his partner was safe. Said partner growled loudly, knowing that a battle was about to ensue. However, she wasn't the only one that could do scary. Her opponent's very presence sent shivers down her spine, and her roar of defiance was a little softer as a result. Tirrika hissed, rattling her tail to try and make herself look the scarier before slinking forward on her stomach, fangs bared. Claudine continued to flail her paws about, the movements becoming more manic as her adversary approached. Unfortunately for her, though, this defence was little more than a pathetic-looking act and Tirrika ignored it completely, biting down hard on her leg. The feline cried out in pain, trying to get herself free quickly. Luckily, she didn't look any worse for wear from the venom from her Poison-type opponent. The battle was going fairly well, for sure, but there was one factor left to take care of. Otoko flapped her wings fiercely, creating a safe spot of sorts within the Purple Haze™ for Haley and her Pokémon to exist. Gohma's String Shot then shot out into the gas ahead, quickly snagging onto something. That something screamed in horror. "AAAAH! WHAT IS THIS?!" By the sounds of it, he'd managed to find a safe spot somewhere. Nonetheless, Gohma quickly wrapped the kid in her webbing, pulling him back into the safe area that Haley and her team occupied. As he was dragged across the ground, he wailed and thrashed about to little effect. Once Haley could see him, he was covered in dirt and dust. He gave the thief a threatening glare, though his hands and legs were surrounded by several inches of web at this point. "Wait until my parents hear about this! Get 'em, Claudine!"VS. Target

As the Meowth pulled off an odd-looking move, flailing her paws like she was drowning, Haley simply raised her eyebrow. Perhaps this would be easier than she though. Not unexpected, though, for a housepet. Her team were weathered battlers, and had fought against worse than this.
"You won't get... aw... with this! My fam... family is..."
“Can you do nothing without your family's backing?” Haley drawled. My family this, my family that. Hadn't this kid ever had to stand on his own two feet? To rely on himself and his Pokemon?
The Team Rocket Grunt smirked at Tirrika as the snake made her appearance, unrattled by the feline's attempt at a Growl. The Ekans hissed and drew back, before latching onto Claudine's leg. 'What's wrong, pussycat?' she taunted, 'snake got your tongue?'
Unfortunately the Ekans' poison didn't take, and the Meowth remained unpoisoned.
“Again, Tirrika!” Haley ordered, the Ekans was quick to obey, rearing back and baring her glistening fangs, grass sizzling as poison dripped off of them.
Haley's attention was drawn away from the battling Pokemon and to Claudine's trainer, if he could be called that, when Gohma launched her webbing, and dragged him from the haze, the spider quickly wrapping him up to render him harmless. The girl nodded an acknowledgment to Gohma, the Spinarak remaining near the boy's head and clattering her pincers.
"Wait until my parents hear about this! Get 'em, Claudine!"
Haley snorted a laugh at the boy, and shrugged. “And what will they do about it? We'll be long gone by then.”

Gohma's intimidation tactics certainly seemed to be having some form of effect, as Jake's voice became even more frantic and desperate. "Y-You think you scare me? You're just a stupid thief! You're not gonna hurt me," the kid half-shouted in his wavering tone, his silk cage wriggling a little as he tried to break himself free. No matter how hard he tried, though, the boy wasn't going to escape from this prison. This was the first time that this child had really been separated from his family and their money, and it was quite obvious from his actions. Being born with a silver spoon in one's mouth had its downsides, after all. "Ugh... CLAUDINE! Give 'em your Bite attack!" yelled the child as loud as he could, clearly becoming frustrated with the situation at hand. He'd entirely ignored the Rocket's last comment, not quite sure how to answer it convincingly. Claudine hissed at Tirrika, getting down on all fours and slowly prowling across the makeshift battlefield as she tried to find a good opening. Haley's Ekans watched keenly, not making any sudden movements and maintaining her composure very easily at this stage. Suddenly, the Meowth opposite her pounced, leaping across the gap between them in one strong movement and sinking her teeth into the Poison type's flesh. Tirrika, though, barely flinched and quickly returned the favour with her own venomous fangs. Claudine yelped, the toxins quickly making an impression on her body. "Claudine! Hang in there, the guards'll be here soon! Not long now!" The boy hadn't caught on to the fact that his protection had been distracted by two of this young Grunt's accomplices. Neither had he realised that his precious Meowth was slowly losing consciousness. The Normal type slumped over her adversary's long body, followed quickly by Tirrika releasing her grip. She looked back at her trainer, as if waiting for her next command. Jake was still coming to terms with what he had seen. "Claudine?! Get up! Fight back! You've gotta fight! You can win!" The boy wrestled furiously with Gohma's threads, but once more this yielded no results aside from a slight wiggle. However, Haley really didn't have time to sit and watch this pitiful act; she had work to do, after all. VS. Target

'Is this kid ever going to shut it?' Haley scowled at the boy, giving him a side-eye. Just because she was slight didn't mean she couldn't try to be intimidating! “I don't want to hurt you, but I will if I have to.” Well, she'd have one of her Pokemon do it. It would be more effective.
Fortunately, or unfortunately for the boy, the battle was over satisfyingly quickly, the snake quickly striking down the cat despite being nipped by her sharp little teeth. Tirrika hissed a laugh, looming over her fallen opponent. 'Niccce try, housssepet.'
“That's enough, Tirrika.” With a flick of her wrist, Haley recalled the Ekans, clipping her Poke Ball onto her belt. She quickly recalled everyone excepting Gohma, whom scuttled up onto her rucksack. The Team Rocket grunt remembered Sirius and Denki, and whistled sharply.
The two dogs, hearing her whistle, perked their ears and stood from where they'd been guarding the bodyguards, and began to gallop her way. As she waited, the trainer grabbed the boy under his arms and hauled him through the poisonous gas, setting him in the shade. Without Otoko there he would surely inhale the gas, and she would get in trouble if he died of poison or heat stroke. She returned to the fainted cat, and scooped her up, tucking her under one arm like a football.
When the dogs approached, Haley quickly put them into their Poke Balls, before retreating for the fence. Like earlier, Gohma created a web for her to climb, and she quickly vaulted over the fence. Putting Gohma into her Poke Ball and away, she beat a hasty retreat.

"H-H-Hey! No! Claudine get up get up!" The boy continued screaming and wriggling, nearly thrashing back and forth now like a pokémon desperately fighting against a pokéball. Lucky for Haley the small child was far to young to make any progress with freeing himself from the sticky webbing, allowing the blooming Rocket to clean up. When she approached him he got louder; squirmed harder. Little legs kicking as if the running motion would get him going. "Y-you let me go! Leave Claudine alone," he whined, helplessly looking up to the white haired villain. Tears were welling in his eyes now, a bit of a cough rising in his throat as it became dry and hoarse with help from the gas and his emotional state. Plead and yell was all he could do as Haley swept up the family pet, collected the rest of her own pokémon, and dashed away toward the edge of the estate. As she reached the high walls more shouts erupted from afar. It seemed the guards had finally come to, that or someone else discovered the child. But it was too late for them to do anything about it. The thief was quickly over the wall and disappearing into the wilds surrounding the distanced estate grounds. She would be long gone by the time they reached the gate. Once she was over the wall and a good distance into the trees, out of earshot of the yelling from the estate, Haley stopped, and swung off the backpack. She didn't have the Meowth's Poke Ball, so she would have to improvise. She dropped her backpack on the ground, and quickly zipped it open, before setting Claudine inside, and zipping it up, leaving it only open enough for the Pokemon to get air. She kept Sirius and Batra's Poke Balls on her belt, ready in case she needed them. With the target secured, she changed clothes, so she'd be able to walk around without getting caught as a Team Rocket member, and made her way to Headquarters.[FIN] | | Words. 117 Tags. @charrie Notes.
