Moves: Wrap, Glare, Poison Sting, Bite Dorthea was excited for the excursion. She was a bit disappointed Aglaia hadn't wanted to join her on the trip, but it didn't stop her from going, and sometimes it was nice with a day on her own. Dorthea had signed up for a bug contest in Goldenrod National Park, and though bugs didn't caught her interest much, she thought it sounded exciting to be allowed to explore the park and meet some other Pokemon than usual. It being a capture adventure and limited to one Pokemon per trainer, she had opted to take Nimrod. She liked his abilities, and he was lovely company. As she exited the transport taking her all the way to the Park from Violet, she immediately let him out, so they could be ready from the get go. He wrapped around her body first thing, and she grinned and pet his skin, while she listened carefully to the instructions. Not that she paid the rules for winning much heed. As long as she had a fun time, she didn't mind what she got out of it otherwise. What she listened particular close for what the rules of how to act towards the wild Pokemon. She didn't wish to cause any harm. Finally, she entered the Park itself and walked into the grass. She tried to keep a distance to the other participants, and be somewhat quiet. Hopefully, it wouldn't be long before she found something. (Wordcount: 245)

Moves: Wrap, Glare, Poison Sting, Bite The first thing to turn up was a fluttering insect, and Dorthea gave a tiny screech before she got ahold of herself and calmed down. She pointed a shaking hand at the bug and ordered Nimrod: "Stop that thing with a Glare and follow up with a Bite." She wasn't entirely happy with her own response, but she had momentarily forgot the possibility to meet some winged beasts. At least bugs didn't have talons and beaks. This was just another Madam or something. (Wordcount: 89
Ooc: Glare and Bite. Running Shoes used.)

Sport Balls Left: 15 (Dustox [Shield Dust]: -1 ATK, Paralyzed) (Nimmy [Intimidate]: Confused, Turn 1/3) Dustox whipped up a Gust and sent Nimmy for a spin! Nimmy returned with a death glare, eyes glinting with a paralytic light that caught Dustox unaware. The moth shuddered from the sight, allowing Nimmy to coil and launch himself into the air to nip the bug. Dustox then returned the look, though the bug's catch of the eye caused a whirl of pain streaking down the snake's body as well as a ripple of color that distorted Nimmy's vision. The ekans looks unsure of himself.

Moves: Wrap, Glare, Poison Sting, Bite "Ugh," Dorthea winced as Nimrod took a hit. Recently, he had been so strong, she thought he could handle anything, but once upon a time she had protected him by capturing a bird. Dorthea grasped for one of the special balls. She had her doubts if it would work so soon. The bug didn't look particular hurt or tired. On the other hand, if she succeeded it was better in the contest with a healthier bug. That much she had gathered. "Careful, Nimmy, I'm trying a ball!" she warned her snake and threw. (Wordcount: 93)

Sport Balls Left: 14 (Dustox [Shield Dust]: -1 ATK, Paralyzed) (Nimmy [Intimidate]: Confused, Turn 2/3, -2 SPD) The sport ball flew through the air and hit its mark, the dustox disappearing inside for a moment. There was a chance the paralysis would hinder the wild pokémon's attempts to break free, but alas, after a moment the ball snapped open and the moth returned to the field of grass. The bug hissed and shot a stream of sticky webbing that wrapped itself around Nimmy as he tried to avoid it. The stringy substance clung to both him and the grass surrounding, making movement significantly slower than the ekans would like.

Moves: Wrap, Glare, Poison Sting, Bite Of course Dorthea wasn't so lucky, and to make matters worse, the flying bug decided to coat Nimrod in string. Dorthea knew the move well. It was a sticky business. Frustrated Dorthea opted for plan B and found a Potion. It wouldn't help on the strings, but hopefully it allowed Nimrod to endure a little more. "Now, try another bite." she said after applying the healing substance. Wordcount: 67 (Ooc: 1 Potion used, then Bite)

Sport Balls Left: 14 1/5 Encounters (Dustox [Shield Dust]: -1 ATK, Paralyzed) (Nimmy [Intimidate]: -2 SPD) Seeing her ekans in a bit of trouble Dorthea quickly applied a quick spray of potion to rejuvenate her pokémon. Nimmy rattled its pleasure with the decision, noting the incoming attack whipped up by Dustox in the meantime and moving to ensure nothing harmed his trainer. A Gust whirled its way through the grass and lashed Nimmy, a few cuts of grass producing minor cuts about its scaly bod. After that the ekans was no longer confused, its mind clearing. Dustox closed the distance and approached, dipping down to make a poisonous sting. To its dismay that had little to no effect on the poisonous snake and gave the ekans a perfect opportunity to strike.

Moves: Wrap, Glare, Poison Sting, Bite "Eh," Dorthea spend a fraction of a second deciding what to do next. The potion looked to have helped Nimrod well. She knew she was supposed to catch the bug in as good health as possible, but it wasn't easy and Dorthea disliked the moth-like creature, if only it was because she hadn't expected it to be so annoyingly strong. "One more Bite won't hurt." she decided, and watched Nimrod struggle against the string to put his gaping mouth to use once more. Wordcount: 83

Sport Balls Left: 14 1/5 Encounters (Dustox [Shield Dust]: -1 ATK, Paralyzed) (Nimmy [Intimidate]: -2 SPD) Nimmy chomped that ugly moth good! If it wasn't for the dusty shield present with every beat of its wings Nimmy was sure his strike was true enough to cause Dustox to reel back. However, it seems the paralysis finally overcame the flying bug thus allowing Nimmy basically a free hit.

Moves: Wrap, Glare, Poison Sting, Bite Dorthea was already fishing for a second ball, when Nimrod got the bug again. She tried to suppress a huff, and shot the fluttering thing a half-hearted glare. Did she really want to catch it? It wasn't like she had went on this to win any contest. She just wanted to see the place and the Pokemon gathered for the occasion. Dorthea slipped the ball back in place, and felt the anxiety drain away at her decision. She smiled to Nimrod. "Very good, Nimmy. Now give it another Bite. It might be enough to chase it away this time." Wordcount: 99

Nimmy nommy'd on the Dustox once again, leaving the moderator with a distinct sense that his word choice had embarrassed him already before the real action had even started! The Bite this time made a very uncomfortable "crunch" sound, which seemed as though it would herald the end of this encounter. And, sure enough, the Dustox fell to the floor, finally lifeless. Poor Dustox. Nimrod gained 2 levels here, reaching Level 18! And... Oh, um... doesn't seem to have a Happiness stat. Oh well! Nimmy can learn Screech! Should he?

Moves: Screech, Glare, Poison Sting, Bite Dorthea startled at the chrunchy sound and grimaced. She hurried over to Nimrod, when he started his usual process of wrapping around his prey, and with a stern voice told him: "No, Nimmy! Stop that!" She grapped him and encouraged him to climb up her arm instead. "That's right, let it go. You don't have to eat your opponents anymore. I feed you, remember?" Dorthea hoped the dipping of his head meant agreement and understanding, and she gave him a little pat. "Now, let's give the bug some space." She walked away from the fallen flutter thing, and looked back only once. She really hoped it wasn't lethally wounded. Wordcount: 109

Moves: Screech, Glare, Poison Sting, Bite Dorthea managed to walk for a minute or two before the next bug turned up. She actually recognized the buzzing before she saw it, but thought she was hearing things. Aglaia's Wystan shouldn't be here. When the stribed wasp got into view her brow wrinkled momentarily, until she realized that of course the Park would have Beedrills too, and this one dind't look too friendly. "On the defenses again, Nimmy. That's not Wystan." She exclaimed and almost threw Nimrod into the grass in front of her, when she pointed her arm at the attacker. Nimrod made an odd sound she hadn't heard before. It nearly hurt her ears. "Sorry about that. Bite it, Nimmy."Wordcount: 114
