Poor Nincada. It thought it had escaped the rampage of that nasty Charmeleon from earlier and its male human. But there was a new Charmeleon in town, it seemed. This one was no less scary and perfectly horrible in its own right. At least, to a Bug like this. Honou opened her lizardy maw to release another hot mess of Embers, singeing Nincada and soon leaving it unable to move at all. What a shame. Poor Nincada. Again.
 Honou gained no levels because... um... I dunno. She's also old? +1 Happiness though (up to +8)! :D |

Haley grinned at Honou as she wiped out the Nincada, rubbing the Charmeleon's head. The fire-type smirked, and puffed smoke cockily. They quickly resumed their trip through the Park, looking around for another victi-er, bug type.

Sport Balls Left: 14 4/5 Encounters A noise would draw the fiery duo's attention. It was a cheery chime, windy and crackling. The source of the noise was easily found, revealing it to be a rocking Kricketot.

Haley looked at the Kricketot, cocking her head. She hadn't encountered one before - was it useful? She decided to leave it up to Honou. "Honou, use Scratch!" The Charmeleon nodded, and charged forward, slashing her claws.

Sport Balls Left: 14 4/5 Encounters Kricketot [Shed Skin]: Bide 1/2 As the charmeleon ran up the Kricketot went eerily still, eyes locked onto the fire type as he closed the distance. When his claws dug into its hard body there was an energy that surged and seemed to absorb all the damage that had been done; though nothing happened right away. Kricketot just continued to stare stern faced at the fiery lizard.

Haley frowned at the stony-faced bug-type, cocking her head. When Honou's attack proved not to be strong enough to faint it, she didn't hesitate to order her, "Honou, let's torch this thing! Use Ember!"

Kricketot had fought well against Honou under the circumstances but it stood no real chance against her. The fiery lizard fired a small ember from her mouth scoring a direct hit knocking the small bug out as it barely survived the ordeal. Honou was happy as she grew a bit stronger as a result of the battle.
Honou fought well and gained 1 level. She is now level 22. She also gained +1 happiness and she has +9 happiness overall. OOC: Honou has the wrong level in the table, she was level 21 in this battle. |

Haley and Honou smiled as the Kricketot was knocked out easily. The trainer petted the lizard's head, and they headed off through the park to find one more bug-type to fight.

Sport Balls Left: 14 5/5 Encounters As Haley looked through the park a strange crunching sound approached from behind her. As she turned around to investigate a Venipede appeared watching her every move. It had evaded encountering a human this whole contest only to run into her.

Haley smirked at the sight of the Venipede, now that was a Pokemon she wanted on her team! Honou caught sight of the look on her Trainer's face, and instantly marched forward to face it. "Honou, use Scratch, but don't faint it!"Haley ordered, and Honou nodded, slashing her claws in preparation of an attack.

Sport Balls Left: 14 5/5 Encounters Venipede used Screech, Honou has -2 Defense for the rest of the battle. Honoubhad no choice other than to hold back this time as it seemed Haley wanted to try and capture the Venipede. Taking his trainers orders into account her extended his claws and ran towards the bug lightly scratching it hoping not to do too much damage. As he turned around to check on the results of his attack the Venipede let out a loud, deafening Screech. The aound greatly reduced Honou's defense but unlike Venipede he was still at full health.

Haley grimaced, cringing along with Honou as the Venipede screeched, her hands flying up to cover her ears. She shook her head, and ordered the trembling Charmeleon to back off. Only too grateful to get away from the noisy bug, the lizard hurried to her side. The trainer pulled out one of the odd Safari Balls, and lobbed it at the Venipede, hoping it would catch.

Venipede tried it's best to avoid being captured as Haley tossed the Sport Ball at it. The bug type still had some strength left to fight back but it was not at full resistance when the ball struck it just under its left eye. Venipede tried to break out at every opportunity but the ball was so stubborn it just would not break and after the third shake it clicked shut.
Honou fought well and grew to level 23. She also gained +1 happiness and she now has +10 happiness overall.
 Venipede has been captured and it will be entered into the contest.
