Returning to the small house in Ecruteak city once again, Alex this time had yet another pokemon for its hidden ability to be awakened from deep inside its dream. This time, was a Sandshrew that he had gotten from the Goldenrod Game Corner some time ago. He did trained with the Sandshrew a bit when he started out his journey, however, as time progressed, Alex remained align to his favorites, the grass and bug type Pokemon.
Knocking on the door of the mystic once again, he arrived with a new Pokemon to show the mystic. This Pokemon was quite smaller in size compared to the Fearow he came with last time, and he remembered how cute the Sandshrew was. He found a chair to sit on as he watched the mystic did something to put the ground type to sleep;
"Fufufu, you've gotten quite the taste for this, haven't you?" Meg remarked as Alex returned once more to her humble abode. She frowned ever so slightly, wondering just how much of her time had been taken up by this one trainer alone. Still, a deal was a deal, and the medium was quite ready to proceed with the usual ritual. "Well, there's no point in wasting time with idle chat now; you know what happens now after all." She beckoned toward Alex's Sandshrew as he entered. The little mouse looked back at its trainer to confirm his intentions before toddling over to the spiritualist.
Once Duerks had reached the middle of the room, Meg began to chant in the same manner as before, using words that sounded as far from English as one could get. The room filled with a purple gas again, smothering the Sandshrew completely. Duerks slowly closed his eyes as he began to drift off to sleep, falling unceremoniously to the floor.
When Duerks regained "consciousness", he found himself in a rather empty void; featureless but for a grey floor beneath him. Opposite him, a small mole-like creature sharpened its claws. It looked like it was up for a fight, and Duerks wouldn't be able to see an escape route here. The match was on, whether he liked it or not.
A Drilbur (Level 16) has appeared in the Dream World! As usual, items are unusable because not real life.
When the Sandshrew woke up in his dream, he found that he was in a different place than the small hut that he was in. In the opposite of him was a Drilbur. My, another ground type with a taste of digging holes. He shook his head and was wondering what to do. He wasn't quite a strong Pokemon yet, so he didn't quite have a lot of arsenal in him. And this was a strange dream that Alex wasn't with him!
He panicked as the Drilbur began to move, and then let poison from his body system stained the tip of his claws a different color. Hoping that the opportunity was close enough, he struck his claws at the opponent Drilbur hoping that this was the right thing to do. After all, he was still a young Pokemon.
The drab landscape was quite the contrast to the two combatants. Sandshrew's bright yellow glowing off of the nondescript floor and Drilbur's shining talons causing glints. Despite its metallic appearance though the ground was rather soft. A familiar granular texture. It wasn't enough to quell Duerks' discomfort with the strange situation but it was perhaps this uncertainty and fright that brought something forth in the dream to help protect him. As the Drilbur started to move the landscape erupted around them into a violent sand storm. The area lit up in earthy hues, enveloping the startled Sandshrew as well as his enemy.
While the new development was certainly a boon for Duerks it also held a certain bonus to Drilbur as well. The opposing ground type picked up speed, big long toes sliding through the sandy ground like an ice skater. As the long clawed pokémon came within melee range the sand swept up even more around Duerks, a veil of yellow and brown, but it wasn't enough to completely conceal the sandshrew's position. With a bright metallic sheen a pair of claws raked down upon Duerks. The sandshrew squeaked its displeasure and lashed out with its own pair of pokers. Laced with poison the young pokémon struck true, though they barely got through Drilbur's tough hide it was still enough to let the trickle of poison through. However, it wasn't quite enough for it to hold.
Battle Weather: Sandstorm
Drilbur | LV 16 | Sand Rush HP: 96% (48/50) Status: x2 SPD Used Metal Claw!
Duerks | LV 16 | Sand Veil HP: 78% (36/46) Status: +20% EVA Used Poison Sting!
The feeling the pain of the opponent's Metal Claw was quite real even in his dream, and it made Duerks almost flinched a little. Seeing that his poison attack was practically not lucky enough to jab through the tough hide of the opponent to induce poison, the ground type decided to switch strategy this time. Braving through the sandstorm, he dashed on his feet and got close to the tartar furred Pokemon. He then leaped and raised his claws for a Fury Cutter. If chemical attack wasn't working, that he'll have to try to put some more heat into his claws.
Drilbur flexed its big long claws, the noise more noticeable through the haze of sand than the actual sight. A shiver rand down Duerks spine but he shook it off, taking a deep breath and getting a focus. Poison wasn't going to do the trick against this opponent so he had to change tactics. With the sandstorm whipping around them it was a little easier for the sand mouse to slip around without being totally noticed so he just had to try and use that to his advantage.
Unfortunately the scissor hands pokémon was still rather quick. While Drilbur may not be able to keep track of the sandshrew 100% of the time it covered so much distance so swiftly that almost didn't matter. Its claws were primed, brightening in that same way as it came closer; sweeping. It was nearly by accident that Duerks was discovered maneuvering through the sand. A metal claw came slicing down a second time, but the yellow mouse was ready to retaliate. The sandshrew arranged his own little claws to bring down a great hit on his tougher, faster, opponent. Drilbur reeled back, a bit surprised by the strength of the attack compared to that last little poke Duerks did, but the damage just seemed to strengthen its resolve to win.

(Just a side note, since these aren't group or event threads you shouldn't be able to have Alex/Ethan doing Dream Seer + Journey threads... so we'll finish up the Sandshrew & Snorunt but going forward keep to the specified modded thread limit)
