Has anyone had any problems facing the gym leaders this time round as I know one or two gyms had Pokemon levelled differently or entirely new movesets to mess us around with. I think the only one I truly had troubles with was Bugsy as his Scyther caught me off guard as I was expecting a U-Turn barrage as he had done so to others but instead I got a Focus Energy and Quick Attack spammage which got 4 critical in a row. I could not believe how unlucky that was. Everyone was a cakewalk really. Especially Chuck. What the f*** Chuck.

I actually had a bit of dificulty with Clair due to the fact that her pokémon's levels are grossly levelled higher than any others. It was a disgustingly large jump! I'm trying to train but that Route below Blackthorn has Lvl 23ish pokémon when you can't access it until after Ice Path! I could understand if you could access it after Whitney (like half of the Routes) but you have to havce beaten Rocket to get there! Same with Ice Cave but I could understand that you don't want high-levelled in a cave, it'd be impossible to navigate through but with that Route it's completely unnecessary!

I didn't have any real problems with any of the gyms. I normally had one pokemon that could destroy most of the gym leader's team. Although I did train my Mamoswine right before Clair, and he destroyed most of her team. So thats why I destroyed her. P:
I also thought the Kanto Gym leaders where fairly easy too.

Clair is bit of a surprise to many and I must admit, the level jump which I had totally forgotten about in the original games shocked even I. Of course I was a higher level than her but it still gets you unaware. I think if they ever do decide on a 4 region Pokemon game they will definitely have to tinker with the levels of wild Pokemon in Johto. It's disgusting how low they are. I also thought the Kanto Gym leaders where fairly easy too. I've yet to give them a try but i'd hope they would be fairly easier after stomping through the Elite 4. If not, people are doing something SERIOUSLY wrong with their games. ;D

Red was the most difficult challenge in the game. But his pokemon are in the 80s.

I had almost forgot Red was in this game! I've got quite a while off until I can face him. I've only beaten Janine of the Kanto Gym Leaders so I shall have to see how many I can finish off tonight. Facing Red is going to be one helluva climatic battle. ;D

I think I cheated and used my old Sinnoh Team. Which some of it was in the 80s. x.x

Clair was a royal b****. Ho damn, she kept hurling D-Pulses at my Meganium, whose Light Screen was barely able to wittle the damage. Thank god she missed her Hyper Beam and died from poison.
Chuck's Poliwrath was mean. My poor Bayleef kept getting spammed with Hypnosis and Focus Punch'd to death. My Ampharos managed to knock it down fairly quick, but jeeze. How can a move with 55 accuracy hit EVERY TIME?

Clair was so easy. Ampharos on her water types. And Mamoswine chucked ice shard in her face.
And Amparos also ripped Chuck's Poliwrath to SHREDS.

I've actually had no problem with any of the leaders in the past, except for Whitney and her Rolltank. Which was nicely averted this time with the aid of one slightly overleveled Arbok with Screech and Crunch.

I hated fighting Chuck. Not that I still didn't beat him with five Pokemon left, and thank god Bonnie (my Meganium) is a tank, but it was so annoying with his Hypnosis/Focus Punch combo.

I had a problem flattening Surge under my feet, what with his Raichu sucking up my Espeon's Psychic and living, and then just being a pain in the rear. I tore him a new one eventually

That move was a B**** and a half to beat when it got stronger.

Someone else found Lt.Surge a bit of a challenge. I have to admit, i'm not sure if it was because I was mentally prepared for the battle at hand but I went in expecting it to be a pushover and actually got stung a bit more than i'd like. ...That or the fact I didn't have any real Ground effective moves to use. Just be glad scyther does not know fury cutter anymore. That move was a B**** and a half to beat when it got stronger. Eh, I had him finished most of the time before it could reap it's full destructive power. Although, you have to think how dangerous it could be these days what with Scyther able to learn Technician. Fury Cutter's low base power coupled with STAB and Tech sounds pretty horrific.
