The mystic and dark ruins certainly were a sacred place to the Unown, taking too many out could in fact hurt their delicate and intricate ecosystem. But, at the same time, they were quite the adaptable Pokemon, so snagging a few couldn’t hurt. Ray was certainly more compassionate than most, many trainers would jump at the sight of such a rare Pokemon, but it was more ethical to thing about how the Pokemon would react to living in a different lifestyle and setting. Although Unown weren’t technically mythical Pokemon, they were still quite the oddity to many researchers around Johto.
Ray’s little Rockruff had a lot of fire in its belly for battling. Ready to take down whatever Pokemon Ray said to go after. With a command to go in for the kill, the rock type leaped forward at the weird psychic type, crunching down hard. The letter didn’t seem to like that at all, it screeched (somehow) and disappeared into the ruins upon being defeated. Scout was definitely gaining some great exp in this place! Scout gained 2 levels and is now level 12! Scout wants to learn howl, thoughts? Scout gained +1 happiness!Wooper egg is cracking! Wooper hatched from the egg! As Ray gave Scout a congratulatory pet, he heard the sound of new life being brought to the world. The Pokémon egg he got from Me Pokémon was hatching. Ray quick took the egg out of his backpack before it could fully break and our came an adorable Wooper. "You are so... CUTE!!!!" Ray exclaimed, hugging the little dickens. After a gentle hugging session, Ray lifted the Pokémon like something out of the Lion King. "From this day forward," he said, "you shall be known as..." Ray paused the christening to check Wooper'ss gender. "Waltograph." He finished, continuing to life Waltograph to the sky as his Pokémon bowed to the young one. WooperName: Waltograph Gender: Female Level: 1 Moves: Water Gun, Tail Whip, Recover EMAbility: Water Absorb Nature/Personality: Brave/Sees Ray as his papa Scout will forget Sand Attack and learn Howl

In a place so long lived and relatively unchanged beyond the wear of time it was an especially significant occurrence for a new life to enter the world within the Alph Ruin's halls. The light bounced its way through the room as the egg burst to give way to the baby wooper. It's first call echoing down the corridors and bouncing around the room. A breeze whistled through the tiny hole in the near chamber where laid an inscription marked by the odd ancient pokémon resembling letters. But it wasn't just the structure of the ruins that celebrated the new arrival. While yes the musty halls seemed to lighten and clear in the wake Waltograph's birth, there was another chime that came into the room. Yet another of the alphabet came to greet Ray and his pokémon. This one was very pleased, making a circle around the trainer and the baby wooper. It spun in the air and sent a harmless flare of its hidden power into the air as if fireworks in celebration. There was only one way to properly honor the birth of pokémon though: battle. The letter E chirped again then narrowed its singular eye and waited. Unown E (LV 9) appeared! Ray was a bit confused by the sudden shift from celebration to battle that had transpired but decided to roll with it. He had just the strategy to help Waltograph begin her training too. After using checking his new born friend's moves, Ray sent Waltograph out into the field.
"Waltograph," he said, "use Water Gun then come back quickly. Princess Peach, think you can take this one?"

The letter pokémon chimed its vowel when the challenge was accepted. It was excited to get the celebration underway, almost immediately flaring up its hidden powers to call upon orbs chilled with the power of an ice type. Waltograph waddled up to take a position against the Unown E with no idea on how this was going to work, but held a belief that her papa only had her best interests in mind. The orbs flashed toward the dual typed baby and hit hard. The wooper screeched with the unexpected sensation and quickly fell unconscious. Unown E also screamed out with surprise. Something of a tonal gasp radiated from the strange pokémon as it watched the OHKO. Its single eye was scrunched with great concern, obviously distraught at the effectiveness of the first attack. What had it done!? The E wailed is sorrow for the baby pokémon, giving an apologetic look to both Ray and Princess Peach as she stood up to face the Unown. Ray was clearly distraught by Waltograph's defeat, quickly pulling out a revive to allow the fallen Pokémon to gain exp from the fight.
"Sorry about that little gal," he said, taking the little lady into his arms, "should have done that in reverse."
Taking out his a phone, Ray used it to play Memory from Undertale the Musical in Waltograph's ear to help it get some rest. After this was set up, Ray looked over to Princess Peach.
"Use Confusion," he commanded, "let's show our new arrival what she's capable of."

Unown E patiently waited off to the side, watching Ray revive the little wooper babe and setup a nice lullaby for the freshly hatched pokémon to sleep to. The letter trilled its name happily. It was glad it hadn't done any irreparable harm to the little guy. But now! It was back to the celebratory combat with this new challenger. The trainer called out an attack, Princess Peach wasting no time in sending the psychic energies forth to attack Unown E's mind. Unfortunately it seemed the ancient pokémon was quite resilient to such attacks, it's mind well walled with its own mental energies. These things were quite strange, seeming to be well versed in psychic typing yet so far Ray had yet to see any of them display any move indicative of this. Instead they just kept sending out waves of energy orbs, and so far each letter had used different energy types even with those. E was no different, once again summoning up the spinning spheres of ice power and sending them crashing into the ralts. Battle Weather: Clear Unown | LV 9 | Levitate HP: 86% (26/30) Status: Normal Used Hidden Power (Ice)! VS
Princess Peach | LV 10 | Trace Levitate HP: 64% (18/28) Status: Normal Used Confusion!

Ray was really hoping to train up all of his Pokémon equally, but with his team only having two on Psychic types, it would have to be primarily two of them. A regrettable nuisance, but one that must be adapted to.
"Alright Princess Peach," he said, calling back he Ralts, "make way for Walt."
Once more, the Za-pearow returned to battle. Ray had his hands full with little Waltograph, but managed to come across for Walt to use Peck by thrusting his nose.

Their latest lettered opponent was proving to be quite an obstacle. The celebratory battle for Waltograph's birth was heating up, Ray now moving onto his third pokémon versus Unown E. Of who blinked happily at how well things were going; on its end anyways. Normally any trainers it met would simply blast through without a care, but here it was holding its own and really putting on a good effort for the baby pokémon. Perhaps the little wooper was its inspiration? As the costumed bird stepped up as the next one to face off against the strange psychic type, Unown E let loose another blast of icy energy. The attack went right through Walt's feathers and chilled his insides. He shivered, hopping and shaking in an attempt to rewarm his muscles before he set off himself. The long enforced beak mimicking that of the legendary bird Zapdos was aimed right at Unown E's big cyclops eye. It found its mark. Unown E reeled back with a pained screech as its soft spot was brutally poked! In response another burst of hidden power was set off in all directions, some of the energy orbs smacking into Walt a second time as he retreated back. He just barely managed to stay conscious. Battle Weather: Clear Unown E | LV 9 | Levitate HP: 36% (11/30) Status: Normal Used Hidden Power (Ice)! x2 VS
Walt | LV 12 | Keen Eye HP: 2% (1/35) Status: Normal Switched with Princess Peach! Used Peck! Critical Hit!

Ray was starting to get annoyed with the ease in which this Monater was able to squash his Pokémon. Guess they were doing things the hard way. Before giving his order, little Waltograph cuddled up against Ray. This in turn caused Ray's annoyance to lower a little bit as he patted the little Woopper's head.
"Oh," he exclaimed remembering the battle was at hand, "Use Pursuit, Walt."
Before Wt could do anything, Eat stopped him with a quick but loud "Halt!".
"Almost forgot to heal ya up," he said, pulling out a Super Potiob and spraying his comrade's wounds.

The Unown couldn't quite believe its luck. This human and his Pokémon were falling left and right. It wasn't an expert on Pokemon health, but it recognised Walt's weakened state. It knew that the end was nigh for the strange-looking avian. All it had to do was fire off one last Hidden Power, and that would be the end. The floating vowel slowly moved toward Walt, glowing brightly. As Ray began to spray his partner with his Potion, Unown stopped in its tracks, a little surprised. It wasn't at all familiar with the strange, orange item that the trainer was using. It hummed curiously, watching as Walt's battered body started to heal up before its very eyes. Unown was shocked. It didn't quite know what to make of the situation. Was this bird really as good as new? What sorcery was this?! Unown soon snapped itself out of its thoughts. Regardless of what might have happened, all it could do is continue its attacks. Maybe its eyes were playing tricks on it and the unusual Spearow was still at death's door. Besides, it was winning this fight just a moment ago anyway. It'd get back into that position soon enough. So it continued on with its attack, orbs of brilliant light shooting out from its lone eyeball - if one could call it a "ball" - toward Walt. The Za-Pearow squawked loudly in reply, as if to confirm that he was indeed feeling like the proverbial "million dollars", before taking the attack square on his chin. Digging his talons into the ground, the Flying type was more than capable of resisting the blow. Unown chirped nervously. Its opponent looked more than ready for the fight now. The refreshed Walt flapped his wings, charging forward in a kind of "half-flight" as his wingbeats propelled him forward. Unown stared at the Flying type and noticed what seemed to be a dark aura slowly envelop it. Shocked, it backed away nervously, but its half-hearted retreat would do nothing to protect it. Walt's full body weight crashed into the Psychic type, knocking the wind out of it completely. The mysterious symbol's eye slowly closed as it reeled from the blow, gently dropping to the floor as its consciousness finally faded. After two switches, Ray had managed to best the Psychic type. Now that the battle between the super tough monster/unown was defeated, Ray could make up with little Waltograph for that OHKO.
"I'm awful sorry for that, little pal," he said, "But I got just the thing to make up for it."
Pulling out some recently acquired birthday cake and a knife for slicing, he called back Princess Peach and Walt from r a little Birthday Prime celebration. Ray started off with a little song.
"Walitgraph, we thank you For the joy that you bring So have a great lifetime Now everyone sing"
Afterwhich the Ralts and Zapearow joined in.
"Happy birthday You were born today Happy happy birthday to you"
After the song, everyone enjoyed a nice slice of cake.

Waltograph, Princess Peach, and Walt all gained +1 LV & +1 Happiness! Walt would like to learn Aerial Ace; delete an old move? The ruins hadn't seen such joy and celebration for quite some time. All the ruckus continued to bring in curious, prying, eyes. Where once there was a chiming E now came a quiet U-shaped pokémon. It poked around a near corner and watched Ray and his friendly mons devouring a large bit of tasty sweets. The unown murmured in thought, squinting across the distance as it considered the scene. So much noise. But it was joyous noise at least; unlike those hooligans that sometimes prowled around throwing rocks out of boredom. It had made up its mind. Unown U fully emerged from its somewhat concealed position and hovered its way closer to the quartet of trainer and pokémon. The wild psychic type shouted its name to grab their attention, wriggling its two arm-like sections that curled themselves with the sides of its cyclops eye. Unown U (LV 10) appeared! Ray and company were sort of at an impasse on what to do with the newly emerged Monster. They seemed harmless enough, but a trainer had to fight. Ray shrugged his shoulders and sighed.
"Alright then," he said summoning Scout to the battle, "Use Bite."
He tipped his hat to the monster.
"Nothing personal," he said, "just business."

Scout emerged with a wagging tail and affirmative bark, already prepared for action. The canine bowed close to the ground as he assessed this odd hovering opponent, then in a flash had launched himself into a run toward the Unown. The U-shaped being blinked at the swift approach but made no motion to evade. Thus Scout's gleaming fangs had no trouble finding the target and digging in. The dark essence radiating from the attack broke through the psychic's defenses and caused the poor thing to wail in pain. Unown U shook off the rocky hound and lit up in a brilliant light. Ragged orbs with a faint scaly texture formed around it then swirled around once before flying off in chase of the retreating rockruff. Scout was assailed from the side, knocking some wind out of him, but otherwise it was no big deal. Battle Weather: Clear Unown U | LV 10 | Levitate HP: 31% (10/32) Status: Normal Used Hidden Power (Dragon)! VS
Scout | LV 12 | Keen Eye HP: 77% (28/36) Status: Normal Used Bite!
