Tyler entered the National Park to try out his luck in the latest literation of the bug catching contest. With Flint by his side he did not fear anything that might jump out at him and he would burn anything to a crisp that was not the species he was after. " Flint be on the lookout for that particular bug. The others are useless to us but we shall stay on the side of caution just in case we do run into one." He said as he waited for his first encounter.

Sport Balls Left: 15 1/5 Encounters Beautifly [Swarm]: Normal Flint [Blaze]: Normal The colorful butterfly had been fluttering about the fountain when a flood of trainers entered the park. What had been a moment ago a nice quiet day was suddenly bombarded with noisy kids calling out to their pokémon and trampling through the grass. Beautifly huffed, climbing a bit higher in the sky to get a better look. Some of these barbarians had even brought fire types into this bug haven? Beautifly couldn't stand for this. The wild pokémon dove down at the nearest trainer and made a stand off with the offensive flame openly burning in this protected area.

The Beautifly was not what Tyler was looking for but it would make a fantastic target for Flint to practice on. " Ok Flint it is time for us to raise some hell again. You did great in the last contest with your Ember so you might as well use it now." Flint then opened his mouth and fired a small ember at the bug trying to bring it down as quickly as possible.

 Flint grew to LV 28 and gained +1 Happiness! (+14) He would liked to learn Fire Fang; delete an old move?
Flint smirked, a wisp of fire already flickering at the corner of his mouth while he watched the miffed bug pokémon flutter down to meet them. Easy. Somewhere between a bellow and a laugh the charmeleon released a wave of fire that engulfed the immediate area surrounding Beautifly. The poor thing, so determined to protect the park, could do nothing but wail in pain and fall unconscious; lost to the sea of scorched grass. |

Having defeated the Beautifly without much effort Tyler set out to look for another bug Pokemon to battle. He still had plenty of time to find the one he was after but he was still working against the clock and he had to hope for a bit of luck. The tall grass did not make things any easier as parts were as tall as he was and he could not see very far ahead at all. The size of the Pokemon he was after did not help matters either.
OOC: Waiting for another encounter. Replacing Scratch with Fire Fang.

Sport Balls Left: 15 2/5 Encounters Grubbin [Swarm]: Normal Flint [Blaze]: Normal A recently new arrival to these parts, Grubbin was busy stepping its way through the tall grass slow as a caterpillar. Of course this all had to start up when it was snoozing away in the tallest, deepest, part of the park's grasses. It couldn't see a thing! The exotic bug pokémon wanted to get some action. And it would get some. Before it's next thought it's long pincers parted a bunch of grass to give way to Tyler's fearsome form. Grubbin didn't balk, turning its head up toward the trainer and flexing its pincers threateningly. Shineh? WUgfnKX11-421-42

The Grubbin was a bit closer in size to the Pokemon Tyler was after but it was still not the right one. Even so like the Beautifly before it would make for wonderful target practice. " Flint use Ember on Grubbin. The sooner we take it out the sooner we can look for something else." He said as Flint once again fired an ember at his target.

The battle had eaten into the precious time that Tyler had as short as it was. Though hope was not lost yet that he would encounter the bug he was after he had to hope for a lucky break soon. They walked through more tall grass in hopes of finding their target. " Come out, come out wherever you are. I am not going to rest until I find you."

It was an elusive one for sure, a rare sight and not very big to boot. Fishing through this exceptionally tall grass kept by the National Park was proving to be quite a nuisance. Though the bugs loved it. At least until someone managed to swipe across the patch they were using for cover. As Tyler's hands moved aside a swath of lush greens a sudden buzz zipped out in front of his face. It was a small bug, but the adorable fuzzy thing with spindly legs wasn't the rarest thing in here. Though, it was just in general a rare find in Johto. V5|zUs0v1-421-42

The Cutiefly was not what Tyler was looking for either but Flint could still gain experience by winning the battle so it was not a total lost cause either. He wanted to end this battle as soon as he could as he was getting close to the deadline with no luck so far. " Flint use Ember and be quick. Time is of the essence here."

With just two chances left to find the bug he was after Tyler started to look in the tall grass again hoping his luck would finally pan out. So far Flint was the only one to benefit from the contest but Tyler was hoping his luck would finally make a turn for the better.

Sport Balls Left: 15 4/5 Encounters Pinsir: Normal Flint [Blaze]: Normal A heavy step fell nearby; perpetually angry eyes searing along the top of the tall grass and landing themselves on the cause of the most trouble for the park. That charmeleon. Throwing fire around willy nilly. In Pinsir's park!? Well it'd just have to do something about that. It leapt out from the grass to make a grand arrival as Tyler's next foe. It landed with a hefty thud, trampling a good measure of grass under itself. The wild pokémon hissed its annoyance and flexed the massive foot-and-a-half long pinsirs for which it undoubtedly is named for. Certainly more threatening than that tiny little grubbin earlier. Though it was not the bug he was looking for Pinsir was still a very rare find. If he did not find the bug he was after Pinsir would be a fantastic consultation prize and it would certainly sell for a high price. He knew the odds of capturing it at full health were very low as well but trying at least once would not hurt too much. " Go Sport Ball capture that Pinsir." He said as the ball flew towards the bug.
OOC: Taking a risk and going for a miracle capture here.
