Damien had been going on a walk through his forest area with both Scratches and Snowball at his sides. He was headed out to his berry plantation area to check up on his berries and his apricorn tree to see how well they were faring in the weather they were having; however, Damien also wanted to test something while he was out there. He carried a jar of honey in his hand as he walked along the Grassy Meadows. He had heard if you slather honey on to a tree like one of the ones Damien had in his plantation area, a Pokemon may be attracted. Damien had a jar of honey lying around in his inventory, and so he figured why not try it out?
He walked up to the tree and began to slather the whole jar of honey on to it, before closing the jar after finishing slathering the honey and setting it back in his bag for now, to either toss or recycle later when he got back to the treehouse. Damien looked at Scraches and then at Snowball. "Well," Damien said, "Looks like one of you two may just get to do some battling today after all. Let's be ready for whatever may be attracted to the honey." Both of the Pokemon gave a simple nod and watched for anything to be drawn out towards the tree.

As Damien spread the honey on the honey tree a small Pokemon bounced towards the sweet smelling treat. There was something off about this Pokemon in particular however as it was not the normal color for its species. Spoink were already a rare Pokemon in this area but a shiny one was almost unhead of. Damien and his Pokemon were caught completely off guard as the psychic type Pokemon paid no attention to them at all as it feasted on the delectable honey until not a single drop remained on the tree. It was then that Spoink finally realized just how much it had messed up in thinking this meal was going to be free. It panicked as it realized there was no way to escape and being a newborn did not help it in any possible degree. As it bounced in place it was about to cry fearing for its life being such a young Pokemon in such a precarious position. Nothing was going to try and save it though as it had made a mistake it would have to learn from the hard way and besides none of the other Pokemon near the tree wanted to get captured trying to save it. All the psychic type could hope for was a sign of mercy from the young trainer and his Pokemon once they figured out just how young it really was.  A wild shiny Spoink (Level 1) appeared. Damien was amazed when he and his Pokemon partners saw walking up to the tree. Not only was it a Pokemon Damien likely wouldn't find anywhere close to here without honey, The bouncing Pokemon carried a trait unlike most of its species - the Spoink's body was a peach color, with its pearl being gray. It was clearly different than the usual Spoink's gray body and pink pearl colors.
It seemed as if the strangely colored psychic-type Pokemon was a newborn, judging from the carefree way it hopped up to the tree and began eating the honey. Damien and his Pokemon watched the Spoink finish up the last bit of honey before it turned to see them. As it saw the trainer and his Pokemon, the shiny Pokemon seemed to have a bit of a panic attack as it bounced in place, unsure of what to do. "Hey," Damien began to speak to the Spoink, hoping for it to calm down, "It's going to be alright! We aren't going to hurt you!" Damien then bent down to be more at level with the wild Pokemon and Scratches and Snowball walked closer to the Pokemon as well.
"My name is Damien," He said to the Spoink, "and these are some of my Pokemon, Snowball and Scratches." Damien pointed at his Santa-hat wearing Deerling and then pointed towards his Sandshrew. "We go on adventures together. We can raise you if you'd like, young Spoink. We can take you on adventures with us and keep you safe. You can be a new part of our team." Seeing as none of the Pokemon from the tall grass had came to the Spoink's aid when it jumped at the unexpected sight of the trainer, it likely seemed like the Pokemon had been left to fend for itself. Probably why it had devoured the honey so quickly and without a thought. "I want to be your friend, Spoink. We want to be your friends. What do you say? Would you like to join us?" Damien was a bit worried that perhaps the Pokemon was too young to understand his words, but hopefully it would understand his intent in the tone of voice he held when he spoke.

The young shiny Spoink was still quite scared as Damien tried to talk to it to calm it down. Spoink bounced up and down in panic as Damien pointed out Scratches and Snowball having no interest in meeting any of his Pokemon as it was far too scared. Damien bringing up going on an adventure did not help either as Spoink was pretty happy where it lived though as it had no way to escape it listened to the trainer purely to buy some time until something came up that would allow it to escape. Just when things did not seem like they could get any worse for the young psychic type it saw Damien pull out a Pokeball and the young Pokemon went from a panic to pure terror. "Spoooiiinnnkkk" It said as soon as it knew what he was up to. Spoink may have been a newborn but even it knew enough from other Pokemon in the estate to know that Pokeball's were trouble and Spoink wanted nothing to do with it. As the red and white ball flew towards Spoink it tried to jump out of the way but the ball managed to just tap its spring like tail and trapped it inside. The Pokeball started to shake on the ground as Spoink fought to break free. The first shake went well but right after the second shake the ball popped open revealing the young Spoink as it managed to successfully escape from the Pokeball. It was not about to go without retaliating in some way but sadly it only knew a single move. Spoink started to hop around using a pathetic Splash attack to no avail making its free attack completely pointless. Though Spoink could not capitalize on its free move the young Pokemon still was proud to have escaped from a Pokeball though this battle was far from over. Battle

After the first little wiggle from the Pokeball, the Spoink popped back out, seemingly still in a panic. As the Pokemon hopped back out, the Pokeball that had been used rolled off into the grass. The Spoink hopped around. 'Awww Spoink," Damien said. "Calm down. I have a feeling you really will enjoy coming with us, a lot more than what you would think. We'll get to explore so much more together, more than just the estate here. We can travel far across the land. We can meet many other new friends. Please accept the offer, Spoink. We would love to have you join our team."Damien and Scratches weren't about to let one failed Pokeball stop them from catching the rare, oddly-colored Pokemon however. They would not give up so easily. Damien reached into the same bag he had pulled the Pokeball from and pulled another ball out, this time a more special one. "Now this may be more suiting for you, young Spoink," Damien said as he pulled out the green and orange colored Pokeball. "The Nest Ball is excellent at catching young and lower-leveled Pokemon," he said, mostly speaking to Scratches. "Hopefully you'll like this a little more?" Damien tossed the ball in the Spoink's direction, honestly hoping for the Pokemon to feel more comfortable with the ball and hopefully more willing to come along this time around.

Despite the fact that Damien and his crew of Pokemon were acting harmlessly towards the oddly coloured Spoink, the bounce pokemon was still frightened beyond belief. While Damien's ideals were respectable, Spoink had been alerted by other Pokemon residents of the estate that trainers were nothing but bad news. The opportunity was too good for Damien to pass up, Spoink was a species of Pokemon not found in abundance throughout the Johto region and to find a shiny variant of its species was a massive feat, one that any trainer would be mad to pass upon.
Damien launched a different coloured pokeball towards the shiny Spoink, this pokeball was coloured different to the first one as it was no ordinary pokeball, it was a Nest Ball. Spoink did not care what colour it was, at the end of the day the result would be the same, if the human was successful then the bounce pokemon's freedom would be gone. Spoink was frozen in place as the Nest Ball made a clean connection with the black pearl on top of its head. The ball landed on the ground and swayed from left to right, once, twice and then a third time before it became motionless and a resounding 'click' sound could be heard.

Damien and Scratches both felt bad about causing the rare and oddly-colored Spoink such a fright, but they hoped that with time the Pokemon would become more calm with time as a part of Damien's team. The Nest Ball had hit the Pokemon so brilliantly and after a few moments of wiggling, it was clear the psychic-type Pokemon had been captured by them. Hopefully she would eventually grow more comfortable as a member of the team along with her new teammates and not be so frightened by whatever she had been frightened by. Damien looked at Scratches and then at Snowball. "Sorry you guys didn't get a chance to battle, maybe next time we'll draw in a more experienced Pokemon with the honey," he said. "Undoubtedly though, that was an impressive find and capture for us, even if it wasn't a very strong Pokemon.. Spring will hopefully make a nice addition to our team some day. She clearly has a lot of spirit, even in her young age. Thank you guys for coming with me to find the Pokemon."
And with that, Damien and his Pokemon began to head back with the Nest Ball holding Spring in Damien's hand. You'll grow to like being a part of our team, Damien thought to himself, I am sure of it! (OOC: Using Birthday Cake on Poochy, Flutter, and Scratches. All gain +1 level, +0 happiness. Scratches learns Swift and forgets Defense Curl. Flutter learns Disarming Voice and forgets Astonish.
