It was that time again, much faster than Aglaia had expected. Had it really been that long?
This time she had been much more easy to convince to join the fray as it had went so well last time she had participated. She may hadn't got any placing or winning, but she had met and caught a shiny pokemon! She still had to check her pokedex to be sure it wasn't just a dream. She hoped she would soon get a chance to get to know it better, or her, illumises were always female.
"I wonder if we will always be swarmed by volveats when she's around," said Aglaia out loud and Saury glanced confused at her. What was she talking about?
Aglaia and Dorthea had ones again traveled together to the park, and parted ways as they entered the park. This time it was really swarming with both bugs and trainers chasing them around. Saury had looked really uncomfortable.
Where Aglaia last time had did her best to look more confident than she felt, it was not such a big problem this time. She believed in Saury's skills, and as he had proved himself last time as a guide as well, she happily let him lead the way.
He didn't had to be told that twice, and he quickly sat the course towards the most quiet area he could find, with fewest bugs. Aglaia followed him without question although she got a bit impatient when they had walked for quite some time without meeting anything, other than a few wild bugs that was already caught in a battle with other trainers.
They paused at the fountain in the middle and Saury looked around, this looked peaceful.
"Don't you think we should try find a more wild area, or with trees or so?" Asked Aglaia with a frown. That was where the bugs lived, and here they were visible from a long distance and were easily avoided.
On the other hand, they could look far and perhaps better chose what to chase, if anything appeared, so Aglaia decided to trust Saury and see what happened.

It was too late, it was too close. To move now would assuredly give away its position so standing tall and facing the trainer was it's only option. It chose a bad time to take a nap.

Aglaia sighed and looked around, it was surprisingly quiet now. Most trainers had probably ventured further into the park and looking for the bugs that hid there.
She looked down when Saury turned with his focus at something and Aglaia looked questioningly at him. The grass moved and Aglaia noticed the purple pokemon.
"Oh! There is something hiding here! Well done Saury! Sleep powder, quick!" ordered Aglaia and was all excited and such.
Suary did as she told. It didn't look big or scary but it was still a bug, better get it to sleep as fast as possible.

Sport Balls Left: 15 1/5 Encounters Venonat: Asleep (1/3) Saury [Overgrow]: Normal Before venonat could finish yawning Saury was dowsing the freshly woken bug pokémon with a cloud of soporific spores. It was too much to resist. The radar pokémon's eyes got heavy once again and before it knew it the bug was back on the ground snoozing away just like it had been moments earlier.

"Great!" Praised Aglaia whispering and the ivysaur looked rather pleased with his quick thinking as well.
Aglaia looped a pokeball at it, and hoped it would work.

It went surprisingly well and fast, it was almost too easy. Agaia hesitated before he went over to pick up the pokeball and she looked thoughtful at it for a moment.
Perhaps it wasn't so strong and therefore easier, which would mean it wouldn't give her many points. She shrugged, they had just started and there were plenty of time left.
"Well done Saury! You have chosen a good area once more," told the trainer her pokemon pleased.
Saury sent her a quick smile before he looked away. He usually didn't care much about what she thought about him, he obeyed but enjoyed the time with the other pokemon, but he felt a bit guilty that she was giving him all the credits.
He didn't really know about the things she trusted him to do, and he feared it would hit him right back at some point.
"Let's see what else is hiding around here," Said Aglaia and gestured for him to lead the way around the fountain.

"Oh, I don't think that will be helpful for the competition," said Aglaia slowly as the volbeat appeared, and she looked thoughtful at the pokeball in her hand, which contained the venonat.
"No, I'll keep this for now. Give it a Tackle Saury, and let's see if we can find something better," ordered Aglaia.
Saury leaped forward and raced towards the bug to do as told.

Sport Balls Left: 13 2/5 Encounters Volbeat [Swarm]: Normal Saury [Overgrow]: Confused Saury did throw out a decent tackle, but Volbeat wasn't born yesterday. It knew that Ivysaur was a strong Pokemon and countered the subpar hit with a confuse ray to stop the grass type in its tracks!

"Oh, that isn't good," mumbled Aglaia to herself when the volbeat sent the dancing lights at Saury. The ivysaur clearly got affected and Aglaia herself could feel a tingling as well, even though she hadn't been the target.
"You can do this Saury, give it a few more tackles!" Urged Aglaia and Saury would do his best to try stay on his legs and hit his opponent.
(ooc: running shoes used x2 tackle. I think there is an error with the number of park balls, I have only used one, but it says I have only 13 left. It probably doesn't make any difference in the end, but I could be really unlucky and needing all of them)

However, when it came time to do it again the ivysaur was having more trouble figuring out right from left and the bug type splitting into several images of itself in a double team maneuver didn't help.

Aglaia frowned. This wasn't going the way she hoped.
"I should have gone with the safe tactic, but I hadn't expected it too be so resourceful" said Aglaia to herself while Saury looked like he shook off the rest of the confusion.
"Try give it another tackle," said Aglaia and wondered what they should do, if it used more double team. If they were really unlucky they would waste the rest of their time trying to take care of it.

Saury pinpointed the correct image of volbeat and caught it completely off guard! He grew to LV 25!

"Wow! Well done Saury!" Praised Aglaia impressed. Her first pokemon had become strong and much more determined, although he might still lack some motivation or something when it came to battles. She got a feeling something was a bit off with him, but she wasn't sure since the pokemon she had heard of who didn't like to battle, they usually refused downright. Saury always did as told, quick and effective.
Saury still saw it as a duty and he was sure he would never enjoy battling, but he was proud of the praise. It was nice to be able to stop the bug so fast.
They didn't get time to relax, as even as the volbeat was still visible retreating, a weedle wiggled forward to face them.
"Oh, a weedle!" Exclaimed Aglaia and hesitated. It reminded her of Wystan, whom she had got as a weedle as well.
"Well, it is not Wystan and I don't need another. Please Saury, give it a tackle," ordered she although it was rather forced.
