So gather ye demons, it seems it's your day I sin but I've paid more than ten thousand graves The weather was killing her leg.
Haley set her jaw, walking without a limp. She had been rather stagnant for a while, spending time with her Pokemon. Bonding with them, helping them bond with each other, until they had finally become a cohesive unit. Honou and Taka still couldn't stand each other, but they could get along at least well enough.
And now she felt ready for them to take on a job for Team Rocket - for the group that had given them a home. This mission was one that she was excited for - break in, steal some TM's, break out. Take out the family if they heard her without hurting them. It required a great deal of planning, and she couldn't wait to see how this turned out.
Six Poke Balls sat on her belt - three were empty. Yokina, the Pichu, sat on her shoulder, face serious. But, oh!, she was excited, this was so fun! Rook was floating behind her, only his eyes visible in the dark of the night. And Pollen trotted at her heels, wholly unaware of the nature of their mission.
And then they were there, at the house of their target. She double checked the address against a paper she had scrawled it down on and, yes, this was it. "Alright." she hummed, looking around to make sure they weren't watched. "Rook," the Gastly came into view. "Go through the wall. Once the door is down, Hypnotize anyone who comes running." she looked, then to "Pollen." she said, the Ivysaur looking up at her. "Use Take Down on the door."
The grass-type nodded, and charged the door, grunting as she rammed it at full speed. The Gastly phased through the wall, ready to act on his orders, while Haley ran through the now-open doorway, Pollen on her heels, Yokina still clinging to her shoulder. OOC: Clearing out Haley's team, switching them out for: Rook the Gastly, Pollen the Ivysaur, Taka the Groyle, Suniku the Eevee, Kaishi the Zangoose,

The dense fog crawled through the cobbled streets of Cherrygrove City, enveloping everything in its path in a thick white blanket. Mr and Mrs Dig where tucked up snug and warm in bed watching their favourite TV show; Everybody Loves Rayquaza when a loud crash rattled the room as Pollen crashed through the front door.
"Frank, why don't you go see what that racket is," insisted Mrs Dig. "It might be one of those burglars again."
"Are you out of your mind Marie?" huffed Mr Dig incredulously. "It's minus twenty degrees out there! Plus, with all those dang potholes Robert keeps creating I might twist an ankle!"
As if on queue, Robert the Dugtrio poked his heads through a large hole between the floorboards in the centre of the bedroom.
"Frank, don't you think Robbie would look great with some hair," imagined Mrs Dig. "Just like those Dugtrio we saw on TV."
"Personally, I prefer my hotdogs without mustard," Mr Dig replied. "Only ketchup for me."
Rook levitated awkwardly in the couple's living room expecting someone to rush out to investigate the source of the noise. When it looked like nobody would appear, the Gastly decided to take the initiative to go see if anyone was at home.
Back in the bedroom, the couple were still staring transfixed to their TV screen. Suddenly the orchestrated laugh tracks of their sitcom were replaced by the course white noise of TV static. On screen, the vibrant colours had been replaced by flickering white and black pixels. Robert turned around one of his heads as if to say "They're here" but when he looked back at his owners, the couple had blank looks on their faces. Their eyelids were still open but they had been hypnotised.
The Dugtrio soon realised what had invaded the family home as Rook's gaseous form floated out of the TV screen to confront him.

The Gastly bared his teeth in a grin as he looked from the Dugtrio to the Hypnotized humans, finding this all in great fun. Oh, he couldn't wait to get home and tell everyone about this great prank they had played! The humans hadn't seen him coming, and the flickering TV had been like something out of a horror movie! Wasn't this a blast?
This wasn't the room that his girl was expecting him to be in, so he called out a loud "Gaaaaast!" to summon his girl to him.
Yokina's ears twitched, hearing her companion's voice - her human's ears weren't keen enough to hear it, but her's were. So she tugged on the girl's hair, and pointed to the doorway that led to the sound. Haley nodded, and jogged into it, Pollen on her heels. She took in the scene - Rook hovering in a figure eight, seeming quite excited, the Dugtrio 'standing' in the way. Haley nodded at Rook, acknowledging a job well done, before turning to Petal.
"Petal, take care of the Dugtrio. Vine Whip."
The Ivysaur, new to the team, didn't understand why they were doing this. Wasn't it rude to burst into someone's home like this? But the white-haired girl was her trainer now, and so it was her job to do her bidding. Besides, she wanted to prove herself, show to the girl that she deserved a place among the Pokemon that she had had for years. Rushing forward to confront the Dugtrio, her vines came out to lash out at it, and she bellowed a low "Saaaaur!"

The showdown between Robert, the family Dugtrio and Hayley's Ivysaur would occur in the living room, just outside the old couple's bedroom. Pollen rushed forward with vines flailing in the air to lash out at the Dugtrio but just as the vines looked set to strike, Robert's three heads ducked underground. Small tremors could be felt as the Dugtrio tunneled deep underground. The walls shook, picture frames fell off the walls and dust and debris showered down from the ceiling. It looked as though the house was on the verge of collapse. Pollen looked around uneasily, unsure of where the Ground Pokemon had gone. It could pop up at any second now with the signature move that the Dig family were renowned for. Pokemon Battle

The Ivysaur shifted on her feet, feeling an uncomfortable tug at her bulb as her vines hit nothing but air, stretching out uncomfortably. She retracted them, eyes narrowing as she looked at the ground, trying to find where the Dugtrio had gone to. Pollen was doubtful - what were they doing? The toad spread her legs, bracing herself as the ground shook, thankful for her low-slung form that helped her to keep her balance even as the very ground thrashed beneath her. She looked back at Haley, wondering if the girl was going to call her back.
Haley's eye narrowed, her lips peeling back to flash her teeth in the beginnings of a snarl. She dropped into a kneel, weak leg buckling as the house shook, holding Yokina to her chest to protect her from the debris. Her eye met Pollen's matching ones, and she shook her head - this was Pollen's battle to see through to the end. If the Ivysaur wanted, her expression said, she would call it back, but she would find herself permanently benched. So Pollen shivered, and turned back to look for the Dugtrio. Haley looked up to Rook, and snapped, gesturing towards the hypnotized humans.
The Gastly grinned and cackled, floating a figure eight around the two. He would use Astonish to knock away and debris that began to fall towards them - they were here to steal the Dig TM, after all, not to maim or kill them. Yokina squeaked, clinging to Haley's shirt and flattening her ears against the loud noises; those HURT!
"Pollen," Haley called out, and the stout Pokemon twisted to face her. "Sleep Powder, then Vine Whip." the grass-type nodded, and shook herself, attempting to release the pollen for the ground-type to emerge into.

From out of Pollen's large pink bud erupted a cloud of spores, preparing to catch Robert the Dugtrio and lull him into a deep sleep once he popped out of the ground. The walls shook violently and the rumbling grew louder signifying that Robert was close to the surface. Rather shrewdly, Haley and Rook had devised a way to keep Mr and Mrs Dig safe from the falling debris and the senior couple's trip to la la land was extended by the soporific powder in the air. Pollen braced for impact as Robert burst through the ground, tearing apart the living room floor, and lifted the Ivysaur straight into the air with the upward impact. The Seed Pokemon landed awkwardly and was badly injured by the super effective blow. However, the plan had worked and before Robert had time to launch another attack he had breathed in the sleep-inducing toxins and was fast asleep. With heads slumped in an unconscious state, Pollen was able to lash the slumbering Dugtrio with thick vines. Pokemon Battle

The grass-type gave a loud Saaaauuur!, bracing her feet on the ground and shaking herself, willing the flower-bud on her back to give up its pollen for a good - well, good in their eyes, most people wouldn't exactly share their opinion - cause. And it finally did, the top of the petal splitting open long enough to release a cloud of green spores. The spores covered the floor, laying a trap for when the Dugtrio came back up to attack.
Haley ducked her head, pulling the collar of her shirt up over her mouth to keep from inhaling the spores if they came her way. Her hand cupped around Yokina, the Pichu pressing her face against Her Girls' shirt in hopes the cotton would do the same without being wrapped around her face. It would be awful if she couldn't help her Girl because she was taken out of the fight due to a stupid mistake made by her own companion.
The Ivysaur didn't have to worry about such things, having been immune to the side effects of her own pollen since hatching, and so she was left to wait, looking at the ground as she tried to prepare herself for the strike from the Dugtrio. And the strike came, an awful crashing noise as the Dugtrio destroyed the living room floor (she hoped his humans were angry for the mess he made of their home) beneath her, slamming into her tender underbelly. Her breath was forced from her with an involuntary "Saur!", flying through the air before crashing to the ground. She rolled, crying out as her not-insignificant weight rolled over her sensitive flower bud. Staggering to her stumpy feet, she winced, her bud throbbing on her back, petals crinkled, blue skin tinged green with all the pollen that clung to her, that she had picked up as she rolled across the floor.
"Pollen," her Master called out, and she squinted at the girl, wheezing. The Master nodded towards Robert, and the Ivysaur looked at it, not surprised to find it dozing, coated in the pollen. She straightened up, vines rocketing from the base of her bud to lash at the Dugtrio. Gasping, she lowered her head, spreading her feet and bracing herself as she waited for her Master's command.
The girl frowned, taking in the gasping Ivysaur's body language. Her hand went to her pocket, to the small bottle of Super Potion. Nodding, she called out "Pollen, come here.", voice muffled by her shirt. The Ivysaur gallumphed to her heel, looking up at the girl - what was she going to do?
Her question was quickly answered, as Haley knelt, pulling out the Super Potion. Pressing it to the Ivysaur's beak-like mouth, the grass-type opened it, beginning to drink. Already, she felt stronger, and cried out a load "Saaaur! shaking herself and narrowing her eyes. Oh, she felt good! Very good, ready to take on the world, even! She barreled forward, taking her place to battle, glaring at the Dugtrio.
"Let's finish this and get out of here, Pollen." Haley called easily, and the Ivysaur called out a "Saur!" Taking that as her agreement, Haley nodded, adding "Vine Whip."

Pollen guzzled down the Super Potion thirstily like an athlete draining an energy drink. All the while, the Ivysaur kept a cautious eye on her slumbering opponent. The rumbling and violent vibrations that shook the house only a moment ago had been replaced by five sets of thunderous snores. Each of Robert's heads grunted in states of torpor and were matched in volume by Mr and Mrs Dig's snorts and snuffles in the bedroom. Haley's Pokemon were careful not to make too much noise as the consequences of the Dig family waking up would be serious. Tip-toeing forward, Pollen hoped to get within striking distance of the Dugtrio to land finishing blow but things didn't go quite as planned as a slab of plaster fell from the dilapidated ceiling and struck Robert, waking him up instantly. Fortunately for Haley though, Pollen extended her thick liana and whipped the Dugtrio forcefully. The blow was enough to send the Dugtrio back into a state of unconsciousness. Pokemon Battle

Wow, Haley did not know how such a relatively small Pokemon could snore so loudly. And, it seemed, the sleep-inducing pollen had gotten to Mr. and Mrs. Dig as well, as they had begun to snore as well. Thankfully, the thick cotton of her shirt seemed to be protecting both she and Yokina from it, as neither of them even felt drowsy or groggy. Although, she knew, she'd have to take a shower later to get the pollen out of her hair, and bathe Pollen and Yokina to get it off the Ivysaur's skin and out of the Pichu's fur.
Being rather heavy, the grass-type stepped forward as quietly as she could, tiptoeing lightly and avoiding the debris as much as she could. She didn't want to risk waking the Digs, as she didn't know if Rook would be able to Hypnotize them a second time. Besides, she was still proving herself, and she knew her Master would not be happy if she caused more, unnecessary work for her teammates.
Haley eyed the Ivysaur as she stalked forward with approval. They were running on borrowed time - although Pollen didn't know it - and was so far content with the Ivysaur's performance. If she woke the Dugtrio, they'd be wasting time, as Rook would have to knock out the Digs again. While Pollen had performed admirably so far, causing that much more trouble would not reflect well on her.
Finally, the Ivysaur was close enough that her vines could strike the Dugtrio. The began to rise from the base of her petal, ready to lash out. But before they could, the grass-type flinched back as a slab of plaster fell from the ceiling, striking the Dugtrio. Its heads snapped up, eyes opening, and Pollen's vines raced forward as fast as they could, striking the ground-type across its multiple heads hard enough to knock him - them? - unconscious.
The Ivysaur looked back at Haley, giving a low "Saaaaur?" Did I do good? Did I prove myself? Haley looked her over, a ghost of a grin on her lips, before withdrawing the Ivysaur's Poke Ball. Recalling her, she put the Poke Ball away.
Voice muffled by her shirt, she murmured to Yokina. "Alright, we don't have much more time, let's hurry." Turning on her heel, she jogged over to the stairs, heading up into the attic. It was piled high with boxes, and she took a moment to look around, taking stock. The pollen hadn't infiltrated up here, so she removed her shirt from her mouth, and Yokina darted up onto a nearby box, tearing it open. Haley turned, and did the same, hoping to find TM: Digs.

As Haley would be focused on finding the coveted TM28: Dig, the sound of faint footsteps seemed to be heading for the attic that she was in! The footsteps grew louder each time, followed by a shining flashlight that belonged to someone patrolling this area. Unfortunately for the young lady, this was a really bad idea to make noise in the middle of a dark attic. Once the person arrived onto the scene with a flashlight in hand, he noticed Haley going through what appeared to be boxes. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?! I'll have to call on my Pokemon for back up if you resist!" Officer Dean took a whiff of pollen, but that wasn't going to stop him from doing his duty. Dean would then sent out his first Pokemon as he threw the Pokeball. The silhouette of a small dog-like Pokemon landed right near him as it took form into an orange canine Growlithe. "Grooowl! Growlithe!" The Growlithe snarled at Haley as he set his sights on her, assuming this trainer was in fact a thief! "If you're looking for a valuable item, don't bother. I'll arrest you here and now!" Officer Dean has come to arrest you!

The Pichu leaped out of the current box, perching on the edge of it as she raised her head, ears twitching. What was that? Loud, was what it was. She shook her head, chirping a loud "Chu-chu-chu!" to draw her girl's attention.
Haley straightened up, turning to the doorway as she, too, caught the sound of footsteps. She kissed her teeth, a sharp sound that drew the Pichu's attention, and the electric mouse nodded, vanishing into a nearby box that hadn't yet been checked. The Yokina burrowed into the box, seeking the TM: Dig even as she sought to hide from whoever was approaching.
The trainer spun on her heel, scowling as she was met with a Police Officer, who looked more like a child playing at dressing up in his father's uniform. She looked him over, snorting derisively, and sneered. "Oh, you have to be kidding me." Rook was going to be in so much trouble when this was over, he was supposed to have warned her if someone approached. Damned ghost type! She had always thought it was funny that he took everything as a joke, but this was not the time for that. Once they returned to Headquarters, and had turned in the TMs, she was going to get to work on training that out of him.
"Let's just get this over with," she sneered at the Officer, reaching down and grabbing Kaishi's Poke Ball. The Zangoose was wild and strong, but could quickly and easily take out this puppy so she could find the TMs before his co-workers arrived. She had great confidence in her Pokemon, but didn't want to draw more attention to herself and her team than she had to. Bringing her hand forward in a smooth movement, she pressed the button on the Poke Ball, not bothering to flashily throw it. A beam of red energy shot forward, forming into the oddly-colored Zangoose. It dropped forward to stand on all four of its limbs, shaking its head as it grew used to being out of its Poke Ball for the first time in ages - for the first time since beating Mighty to near death. Sparkles danced in the air around its fur as the light retreated into the Poke Ball, clicked back onto her belt, showing off Kaishi's oddly colored fur.
Licking her claws, the Zangoose purred, ruby eyes gleaming as she glowered at the Growlithe. Haley gave a low hum, knowing that the Zangoose wouldn't need an order, leaning back against the boxes lazily as Kaishi lunged at the Growlithe, bringing its claws up to lash out at it.

As Kaishi was sent out, the oddly colored Zangoose didn't even have to wait for her trainer's orders as she quickly approached the small orange canine Pokemon in a speedy flash, drawing out her claws and successfully scratching the poor Growlithe across the face. The fiery dog-like Pokemon yelped in pain as he covered his snout with his paws as Dean showed concern for his own Pokemon. "Are you alright, Growlithe? Let's retaliate with Ember!" Snarling at the mongoose Pokemon, Dean's Growlithe opened his mouth, and let out one small, orange fireball which were headed directly at the Zangoose. At Dean's expense, he wasn't going to take that sitting down at all. Since this trainer resisted his authority, it was only right for the officer to defeat her in battle and detain her for questioning. Perhaps this young lady was looking around for a very valuable TM, and he had only been patrolling this area. His boss wasn't going to like this one bit if he had failed to stop the robbery, but it was his duty and by Arceus, he was going to stick to it. Officer Dean couldn't let this robber get away with it, let alone having those nefarious criminals called Team Rocket steal items and Pokemon while the International Police Force was dealing with this criminal organization. The Zangoose snarled, barelling forward and bringing her carefully maintained claws down down across the pup's face. There was a satisfying give that had her grinning wildly, baring her fangs, eyes flashing as she pranced back, clenching her claws, watching the pup suffer. It made a pitiful yelping sound, and she shook her head, bringing her claws up to her mouth to wipe them meticulously clean with a cat-like tongue. Oh, oh this was fun! It had been too long since she had been let out to play, since she had beat up that pathetic, ugly little bagworm. Hopefully this mutt would put up more of a challenge although, from the way it cried and covered its nose, she doubted it.
"Good girl," Haley hummed thoughtlessly, thoroughly unbothered as she looked around the room, keeping an ear out for Yokina. The little electric rat was scurrying through the boxes, seeking out the TM even as her girl fought. Time was running short, and she wasn't going to waste it. They needed those TMs, and she'd be damned if she didn't find them before any of her other teammates could.
Aside from a twitch of her blue-painted ear, the vibrantly colored Pokemon didn't acknowledge her Master at all. The Zangoose bared her fangs as she found her skin and fur singed, the mutt blasting small bursts of flames her way. Dropping onto her forepaws, she shook herself, ridding her fur of the clinging embers. Oh, she thought, glowering at the obnoxiously colored mutt, he would regret that. A snarl rumbled low in her throat, and she dug her claws into the ground, bracing herself before lunging forward, compact muscles coiling and releasing as she charged unflinchingly at the fire-type. Oh, she couldn't wait to feel his skin give way, hear him yelp in pain as she landed another attack.
Haley shifted her weight, hands going into her pockets. For a moment, she contemplated pulling out Taka's Poke Ball, releasing the Grovyle to dart out and search the other rooms for the TM: Digs. But she didn't want to risk having him get grabbed by the Officer - whatever his name was, she hadn't caught it and didn't care to remember it, either - and held to keep her from running. She could always withdraw him, but it would be a pain and take way too much time that she couldn't be bothered to waste.

"Have you nothing better to do?" Officer Dean demanded of Haley. She was too young to be committed to a life of crime like this. She had time to turn it around. That red r was hated by most in the region, and feared by many more. "You have time to do something else with your life, girl! It doesn't need to be this way." he insisted. The Zangoose advancing on his pup, hungry for revenge, he wondered why she would want any part of this at all. Kaishi had no problems with what was going on, eager to get back at the Growlithe for he singed fur, she slashed against its side with her claws, the attack being too much as Growlithe collapsed in a heap on the floor. "Why do you need to be with them?" he asked serious as he recalled his Growlithe. He sounded almost remorseful, for her, but he knew what he had to do as a cop, and that was to keep her away from what she was after. " I really hate this job sometimes." Especially when he had to see such a young girl like her throw her entire life down the toilet by signing herself to a group of fools. He held up another Pokeball after he recalled the downed pooch. "Sparky, keep em busy!" he called, the Pikachu emerging from the ball and giving a stretch. She was going to do what her Growlithe friend had failed to do, and keep what the Rocket wanted from her.Dean's Growlithe |Level 12| HP: 0% (0/38) Status: Fainted! No move used this turn! Haley frowned, staring blankly at Officer Dean. Reaching up, she ran her fingers through her hair, before saying dryly, "No, not really. Strong Pokemon, challenging jobs - what's not to like?" And then her eye hardened; "Besides, we don't kill people," the word was spoken with a harsh sneer, pulling at her scars and making them stand out vibrantly, staring at the man as though she meant that he, personally, had killed someone.
Yokina snickered from inside the box she was rummaging through, tail twitching in rhythm with her ears. Now, where were those TM's? This was getting very old, she huffed, still keeping an ear out for her girl's voice in case she was called out to fight. She doubted it - considering that she had been commanded to seek out the TM: Digs, her girl was highly unlikely to command her to do otherwise, but there was always that chance. If she would be highly effective against the Officer's Pokemon, if Haley's other Pokemon all fainted, as unlikely as that was.
Kaishi laughed as the Growlithe collapsed, bounding back to stand in front of her trainer. Reclining back on her haunches, she licked her claws clean, smirking at the Officer with squinted red eyes. Haley rolled her eye at the Zangoose's over-the-top show, but grabbed the vibrantly colored Pokemon's Poke Ball, pressing the button to recall her. "Good job," she murmured, before shrinking it with another tap, and tucking it away. Kaishi was a good Pokemon, but a bit too bloodthirsty for her taste, and so she would rather use someone else if this battle were to continue.
And then he asked her why she had to be with them, and she grinned. "Why do you need to be a cop?" she echoed back, "They give me a purpose, a reason to live. They give me a family." and then, in the same sing-songy tone, "and they let me fight against those who killed my family." and she looked, again, at Officer Dean, with a tilt of her head.
The man sent out a Pikachu, and she raised an eyebrow. Bringing out a Poke Ball, she released Suniku the Eevee, the Pokemon shaking out his plush brown fur, the Soothe Bell fastened around his neck jingling softly. Kuni chirped cheerfully, and Haley said, "I have a Pichu, I'm working to evolve her. How do Pikachu do in battle?" as though she weren't battling the sworn enemy of her 'family'. And then, to Suniku, "Tackle, Kuni."
