Kevin had little doubt that Clamps would be able to defeat the Shellos but he was still glad to see the Scyther pull off its first U-Turn attack without any issue. As soon as Kevin was sure the coast was clear he left Clamps back out of his Pokeballs before congratulating him on a job well done. " Great work Clamps, I know that battle didn't teach you too much but just getting some practice with U-Turn is well worth the effort." Clamps started to calm down a bit and both Eiskalt and Freyja inched towards the mantis hoping he would let them fight whatever came out of hiding next.

Though the bug had calmed down it could sense something changing about it's body and Kevin had a feeling about what would happen soon. " I do think Clamps is one more battle away from evolving if that look he has is any indicator. It has been a long time since I have been around a Scizor but I know right before a Scyther evolves into one their body begins a weird change." He knew Marchbaby would be thrilled if Clamps evolved by the next time they met and this might just be the perfect chance to finally allow that to happen.

As much as he wanted to train Eiskalt and Freyja he had enough experience to realize the bug would not be able to stay calm for an extended period until after it evolved. With that in mind he had no doubt about what to do next. " Sorry you two but Clamps is going to handle the next battle no matter what comes along. You two will get more training in after Clamps evolved so he can maintain his cool." As he made up his mind Clamps stepped forward and started to scrape his scythes awaiting whatever had the guts to take him on.

As Clamps waited for its next opponent Kevin could hear rustling in the tall grass up ahead. Before he could give any order Clamps flew towards the noise and started to search the grass on its own. Kevin quickly gave the order before the bug made a mistake it might regret. " Clamps hang on a second, I want you to battle whatever comes out but just in case it is a human I don't want you to attack yet." Clamps then reluctantly nodded and waited to see who it's opponent would be hoping that even without the element of surprise that he would still be able to strike first.

The grass did indeed rustle but it stopped the moment Clamps got near and for a bit everything was quiet while both parties waited for the other to move first.
The the scyther thought he saw a moment but when he looked closer he saw nothing else than grass and plants, it waved a bit in the breeze, some a bit more than others.
Wait? What breeze? There were none, only the heat that made the air shimmer and everything else than this patch of grass was almost hanging in the heat. A closer look and he realized that one of the leaves at the top wasn't yellow because it was drying out, it was a head, and it had eyes!
The bellsprout had almost made it to the edge of the grass when Clamps fully spotted it.

When Clamps finally spotted the sneaky Belssprout the bug was in no mood to hold back at all feeling it's evolution was imminent. Even so the bug waited for the order to attack as Clamps did not want to disappoint Marchbaby by getting any bad reports from Kevin and while he waited Samantha and Oracle both looked on quite amused by the mantis ready to deliver a finishing strike as soon as Kevin was ready. " I honestly feel kind of bad for that poor Bellsprout but if knocking it is is all Clamps needs to do to evolve then I guess it is for the best. He has certainly earned the right to evolve with all of his hard work."

Samantha was slightly less caring about the plants safety rather just wanting to see this battle end so that her own chance to battle again would be that much closer to reality. " Clamps be quick about this, the sooner you evolve and the young ones finish their training I will finally get a chance to battle again. I don't want my flames to get weak because I haven't used them enough." As the two canines said their peace Freyja and Eiskalt looked on as well just hoping Clamps would finish the battle quickly so they could battle more and catch up to the rest of the group.

Kevin was not in as much of a hurry as the others but with Clamps being so close to achieving his goal he wanted to get this battle out of the way as quickly as he could. " Clamps you have done well so far and I won't hold you back any longer from earning this next victory. Use U-Turn on that Bellsprout and give it everything you have to offer." As he gave the order the mantis sped towards its target ready to hunt the plant down like its life depended on it. Kevin was very impressed by the Scyther's determination as he waited for the results of the round.

As Oracle watched the bug approach the Bellsprout she could not help but to comment on the bugs hunting instinct. " Those eyes are truly that of a hunter. Clamps is so determined to evolve right now just like I was a while back. I know exactly how he must feel right now being so close to meeting his goal.I sure hope this works so all of his hard work will finally pay off and the little ones won't need to fear him as much anymore."

As soon as the Battle came to a close Clamps started to glow as his Metal Coat started to fuse with his body. The usually natural shell protecting changed into steel and his scythes like arms transformed into a pair of giant metal pincers with razor sharp edges. Even his color changed to that of a mustard like hue as the process of evolution completed it's final stage. By evolving he had lost speed and the ability to pursue targets with great speed but in return gained greater physical strength and the new move Fury Cutter. Kevin was very impressed at the young Scizor for finally accomplishing his goal.

" Congratulations Clamps, you have finally evolved after all your hard work. I am sure Marchbaby will be thrilled when he sees you again and it looks like your temperament has died down a bit as well so not Freyja and Eiskalt can continue training." As he praised the bug for all his hard work Kevin saw a piece of paper nailed to a nearby tree and walked over to read it. " Coming Soon to MooMoo Farms, The Galar Festival has something for everyone. Admission is free for everyone." Seeing the ad made Kevin think it would be the perfect place to return Clamps to Marchbaby.

Until then however he could still train his other Pokemon trying to get them caught up to the others and he wasted no time in looking for something else to battle. " Freyja and Eiskalt, you had a good rest but now that Clamps has evolved it is time for you two to keep training so you can become stronger. I want you both ready for whatever comes out way next." The two young Pokemon jumped at the chance to battle both stepping forward both hoping to be the first to do more training as Samantha and Oracle stood next to Clamps both impressed by his new appearance.

" Clamps you look great, I am so happy for you that you finally evolved." Oracle said as Samantha chuckled. Clamps new appearance was nice she had to admit but it also made him even more susceptible to her flames. " Yeah congrats but don't push my buttons. Steel stands no chance against my flame and on the inside you are still a bug. Stay on my good side and we will get along just fine." With nothing else to do the group patiently waited to see what would come by next just hoping whatever it was would beneficial for Freyja or Eiskalt to battle it.

As not one but two Yungoos appeared Kevin was quite intrigued by what Freyja and Eiskalt would be able to do together. They did not like to get along whatsoever and Kevin knew this battle might get intresting. " It would appear as though fate wants you two to get along for once instead of being at one another's throats. You might be rivals but sometimes the enemy of my enemy is my friend and it very much applies in this case." Freyja and Eiskalt were not even remotely thrilled at the idea both wanting to fight by themselves but they had not choice in this case. They lined up across from each other and got ready to battle.

Despite Freyja being a few levels higher than Eiskalt the young weasel was far faster than the unstable fox cat Pokemon as she waited for the right moment to make her move first. Kevin had a pretty good plan in his head so both could use their strengths to their advantage. " Eiskalt use Icicle Crash on the lower leveled Yungoos and Freyja use Swift on the other Yungoos." If all went to plan he would then be able to enact the second part of his plan which would hopefully allow him to capture one of the Yungoos.

" If that all works out I will try and capture the higher level Yungoos and Eiskalt be ready with your Leer if my Pokeball fails." He said as the two Pokemon got ready to pull off their combo. In the meantime Clamps looked on quite eager to join the battle himself however now that he had a better control on his emotions he stood by patiently knowing the time would come for him to get to test out his new body in a battle and it would be worth the wait. Samantha and Oracle on the other hand were just hoping Freyja and Eiskalt did not turn on one another during the battle as even in a situation such as this they were not friends by any means.

" I sure hope those two get along for five minutes so we don't have to jump in. Those young ones sure do like to butt heads." Oracle said as Samantha started to chuckle. The young Braixen loved the competitive spirit of the young ones but she still had to admit learning to get along was important. " Yeah I love watching them tussle but getting along in some cases has its benefits. Maybe this battle will get them to respect one another just a little bit more so we won't have to babysit as much."




OOC: Freyja uses Swift on Yungoos level 12 unless the level 10 is not knocked out then it hits both, Eiskalt uses Icicle Crash on Yungoos level 10. Using the running shoes to try and capture the level 12 Yungoos with a Pokeball and Eiskalt uses Leer if it fails. Deducting the Pokeball now. Also a minor note but Eiskalt is level 14 not 10.

Watching the two rival young ones work together for once was a great thing for Kevin to watch. They did a very good job teaming up and earned a swift victory as a result and Kevin even captured one of the Yangoos making his plan a smashing success. " Wonderful job you two, that just goes to show that working together can be a good thing instead of always fighting each other." Kevin said as he applauded the two. Both Samantha and Oracle were proud as well as it was quite an impressive display. Before they could do anything else Kevin wanted to come up with a nickname for the Yungoos they captured as he was impressed by the bravery it had shown against them.

" Seeing as how you tried your best to stand up against two Pokemon even after your friend was knocked out I am going to call you Courage. Welcome to the team friend." While he was busy doing that Freyja and Eiskalt still stood by ready for another fight. " It seems that last battle really got you two on the same page. You made a pretty good team there and I can see why you want to battle more after such an impressive display." Oracle said quite proud of the pair as Samantha just wanted to see another battle to pass time as quickly as possible.

" For a first attempt it wasn't half bad but it will be a while before you will truly master working together. Maybe you will get lucky again and get to do another double battle soon." Just as she finished speaking Kevin could feel a change in Freyja's aura and he knew something was up. " My aura sense is not as in tune as it once was but I do believe Freyja is very close to evolving now. Her aura is mixing with various energies but primarily that of fairy energy. One more victory should be enough for the energy to trigger evolution. Eiskalt sit out this next round and let Freyja battle by herself."

As the Weasel stepped aside the young Eevee got ready to attack whatever showed up next, she wanted to prove her strength and try to evolve as quickly as possible. " Freyja use your Swift attack on whatever shows up, as a matter of fact use it twice to try and seal the deal as quickly as possible." Freyja then lined up her attack and waited for something to pop out so she could show no mercy. As much as Eiskalt hated not being able to battle this time maybe she would be a better partner for Freyja once the young Eevee evolved.

As the Shellos endured two Swift attacks from Freyja Kevin had to admit his plans had been derailed a bit. There was some good news to come of the derailment as Freyja's Swift would not suffer from her accuracy loss and the slug Pokemon was still pretty low on health. " Well that was certainly unexpected, it looks like you might have to work just a bit harder Freyja but the effort will be worth it in the long run." Kevin said as the young Eevee tried to keep her eyes as clear as she could. Eiskalt thought it was hysterical that the young Eevee had a splotch of mud on her face but deep down it knew against a Shellos she could not do any better.

" Oh how I hate mud, I would kill that Shellos if that were me. Thank goodness I don't have to battle that pest." Samantha groaned as the mere thought of getting mud on her grossed her out. Oracle was by no means a fan of mud either but like Freyja she at least had a move that could overcome any loss of accuracy." Swift might not be as powerful as my Aura Sphere but no amount of mud would mess up our aim with those attacks. Go get them Freyja." Oracle cheered as Kevin considered using his last Pokeball to capture the Shellos.

It was tempting but as he didn't think he could cause enough damage to Shellos to make a capture likely and he also wanted to allow Freyja to evolve as soon as possible he decided knocking it out would be the better option as he could always come back and catch a Shellos later. " I wish I had better Pokeballs to try and capture you as I love how tough you are but as I don't at least finishing this battle quickly is the next best thing." He said as Freyja dug her paws in to steady herself to make sure her next attack would bring the slug down.

" Freyja you have done pretty well so far despite the setback but victory is close. Like before use your Swift and do not hold back." As he gave the order the young Eevee used her ears to track the Shellos as she did not have enough faith in her eyes at the moment. Once she felt she was lined up properly she opened her mouth and fired a series of energy filled stars at the water type. Eiskalt hoped she was right about her aim as she wanted to train more as soon as she could.

Despite the initial setback presented by Shellos Freyja made sure her next attack brought the Shellos down as her Swift attack scored a direct hit. Within seconds the Shellos slumped over in defeat as Freyja barked in excitement. Her excitement only grew more as the fairy energy surrounding her reached a fever pitch and her whole body started to glow. A few moments later she looked entirely different having evolved into a Sylveon. " Congratulations Freyja, you worked so hard to evolve. I am so proud of you." Not only had she evolved she also learned a new attack in the process.

As she opened her mouth a charming cry filled the air as Kevin quickly realized what she had learned. " Ah I see you have learned Disarming Voice as well. At least until you learn a stronger fairy type move it should do for now. If I am not mistaken your ability changes now as well to Cute Charm so any male Pokemon we encounter will have quite a hard time against you." For all the celebrating though Eiskalt was not thrilled as she still wanted to train as well so that just like Freyja she could evolve.

" Sne, Sneasel." She cried over towards Kevin trying to win back some attention to herself. Now that Freyja had evolved Eiskalt hoped there would be no further distractions from her training as she wanted to catch up with her rival. Even with a type disadvantage Eiskalt was not about to end her rivalry with Freyja as with the right amount of training and the right moves she could still stand a chance. By now Oracle had paused after sensing something in the distance and pointed her paw at a nearby bush feeling somethings aura hiding within it. " Oh I see the aura of something right over here. Eiskalt might just get her chance now to train."

Hearing this the young Sneasel extended her claws and got ready to battle hoping not to miss her chance at getting stronger. " Eiskalt it is your time to shine now, try your Icicle Crash on whatever is hiding behind that bush." The speedy Pokemon then summoned a massive icicle using her breath and then picked it up. Once she had a firm grip she charged forward and leaped into the air before taking aim at the bush. As soon as she was sure she would hit she dropped the huge icicle on the bush hoping to catch whatever was hiding in in off guard. As she did Freyja watched her rival still proud she had one upped the young Sneasel so far.




OOC: Eiskalt uses Icicle Crash on whatever comes out next. Freyja forgets Baby Doll Eyes to learn Disarming Voice and evolves into Sylveon. As she evolved her ability changes to Cute Charm. Updating her moves, ability, and evolution now. Also removing her Soothe Bell.

The humid sun started to melt the icicle as soon as it flew towards the bush but even the humid weather was not enough to stop the attack in time from scoring a direct hit on the hiding Ladyba. The bug fell in defeat without launching a single attack as Eiskalt could feel herself get a little stronger as a result of her victory. " Great job Eiskalt, you have a ways to go before you catch up to Freyja but every little bit helps." As impressed as Kevin was Freyja was not impressed by anything other than the Sneasel's speed which was the only thing she could never match.

Eiskalt was not looking for the Sylveon's praise however as all she cared about was getting stronger so she could evolve and be on more equal footing with her rival. " Eiskalt sure is determined to grow stronger, even as Freyja one ups her by evolving first she is still just as determined as ever." Oracle said as the young Sneasel wiped the sweat from its eyebrows as the heat started to get to the young Sneasel. A hail storm or even rain would be nice but it could not stand this humid weather. It was then that Kevin had an idea now that Eiskalt had gained some levels and Freyja could help if she got into trouble.

" Hey Eiskalt I think we should try another route as it is getting too hot for you here. I hear the weather in Azalea is far more to your liking right now and you might find slightly more powerful Pokemon to train against. How about we continue you training there? He asked as the Sneasel hated the idea of taking any longer to train but in this weather the young Sneasel had no real choice as it was much too hot by now to focus for much longer. Eiskalt then nodded as Kevin recalled the young Pokemon so she could cool down until they reached Azalea.

" It is settled then, we will continue your training in Azalea. We need to head there anyway to go through the Ilex Forest once you are strong enough anyway so it will save us a trip." The group then started to make their way towards the next town. Samantha was the only one not a fan of the idea as she quite liked the humid weather. " It figures the one time we get into good weather we have to leave quickly. Hopefully the weather in Azalea is tolerable." She mumbled as she tried to stay in good spirits about leaving such lovely weather.
