The first half a second of reaction from the trainer brought the duskull's tummy into an elated tickle. But before it could begin really enjoying itself after that lovely introduction all specks of surprise were erased from the dragon tamer. The wild pokémon watched as the young man dived a hand into his bag for a special safari ball. Now it was Duskull's turn to be surprised. The ghost type perked and looked side to side. There were no walls or any sort of cover to float through and avoid the capture device so it would instead just have to try and fight it. By the time the wild pokémon came to this decision though the ball was already in the air arcing down towards it. Duskull clapped its hands and waited for the tap to suck it inside where it could proceed to overcome the technical device. It was quite the battle indeed. One that March could only see expressed in the wriggles and rolls of the safari ball once it hit the ground. The ball struggled, and soon it cracked. The top half dislodged completely and flew off a few feet away, expelling the victorious ghost type. Duskull laughed then lifted its non-descript hands to its cheeks and made a noise as if spitting its tongue out at the dragon tamer. With that done the ghost pokémon began floating a little further away, though not in any sort of hurry. It seemed it was on the verge of leaving but just couldn't quite convince itself that there wasn't more fun to be had playing around with this trainer. Though his first attempt to capture Duskull was a total failure Marchbaby was not discouraged in the least. After dealing with Atropos for as long as he had he knew ghosts types from Hoenn could be quite stubborn but that just made him want to try and capture Duskull even more. " I cannot say I am surprised that you are so good at resisting capture, Atropos would likely get along with you quite well for being such a great escape artist." After praising the ghost types skills Marchbaby reached into his bag and grabbed another Safari Ball.
He still had quite a few left and if there was any chance of him bagging a rare ghost type he would spend as many balls as he had to to try and make it happen. " As impressive as your escape skills are I do wonder if it was just luck or pure skill? The only way to find out is for me to try again and hope you just got lucky last time." He then tossed the Safari Ball at Duskull and crossed his fingers hoping that lady luck would be on his side this time.

Duskull certainly seemed to like the praise. It cackled and floated back a bit closer, seemingly intrigued with what March had to say. It didn't miss the fact that the trainer was once again digging for another ball; it was used to this sort of play with trainers in the area. And then came the challenge. The ghost waved a ghostly arm at the man, rolling its eyes as if there was no possible chance the ball could defeat the ghost. But of course Marchbaby was right. Breaking out once wasn't really a true display of skill. The wild pokémon's eyes turned up to the sky in thought. Simply phasing away from the device wasn't going to cut it either. No. Duskull hovered still in the air so March had an easy time of lobbing the capture device its way and waited. The device sucked the ghost type in with a trailing spooky wail coming from the pokémon before it the ball closed tight. It nearly latched immediately Duskull was so preoccupied with showing off. It had lost its edge, gotten distracted! The safari ball wobbled awkwardly and rolled half-ways before the chime sounded and the light turned off. Looks like it had simply been luck. Capture 14shxJDV1-100 SUCCESS!

As the Safari Ball clicked shut Marchbaby was very pleased to have captured the Duskull. He had no doubt it would be a very useful partner for Atropos and useful Pokemon in general. They were not the most common Pokemon in Johto and getting it made this free Safari Zone trip a huge win for him even if he didn't capture anything else. As he still had encounters left before his trip was over and plenty of Safari Ball's left he was not about to leave yet and as the desert had been quite kind to him so far he decided to try his luck one more time. Before he started to search again he had to give his new DUskull a name. " I think I will call you Grim as I truly felt my chances of catching you were quite grim and it is a fitting name to go along with Atropos. Now that that is settled I wonder what I will encounter next?" He then started to walk along the desert hoping that another Pokemon would pop out soon. He just secretly hoped nothing would try to creep him out like Duskull had tried to do. OOC: Staying in the desert for another encounter. DuskullName: Grim Gender: Male Level: 20 OT: Marchbaby Moves: Foresight, Shadow Sneak, Disable, Astonish Ability: Levitate Nature/Personality: Adamant, Grim is a very determined Duskull who loves to play tricks on his trainer. He also gets along quite well with Atropos whose own tricky nature makes them the perfect pair.

Life in the dessert was tough if you weren't build for it. It was also tough if you were build for it but you had some difference which took away the advantage and for this houndour it was its fur. While black usually was thought to be a bad thing to have in hot conditions, houndour used it to help varm up their flames and the black often made them hard to see in the distance as they were hunting. This bluish colored houndour had been thrown out from its pack as it hadn't been able to breathe fire as hot as the rest of them, and had exposed their position to their prey when they were hunting. The needs of the pack, out weights the need of the single houndour, so it had lived alone for some time and had grown hungry. It was hard to live on your own, no matter what color of your fur and it showed. When it finally managed to chase down something edible it wasn't always it got to keep it, other packs or stronger pokemon could easily chase it away, or steal its food if it had to leave for a moment. It paused to take in a new scent, it didn't really smell like food but neither something dangerous. It followed it and soon spotted something in the distance which it had never seen before. It looked a bit like a tall thin cacnea, just in the color of the sand and without the thorns, and then it had the strangest fur on it had ever seen. It stopped in a safe distance of Marchbaby and tilted its head curiously. After walking for a short while without seeing anything Marchbaby suddenly got the urge to turn around and as soon as he did he knew he encountered something special. A blue Houndour was not a very common sight as common as the regular ones were in the desert and Marchbaby was going to try his best to sweet talk the canine into letting him capture it. As he took out a Safari Ball he started to speak to the blue hell hound hoping luck might just be on his side.
" I caught a Houndour already but a shiny one such as yourself is a far more rare sight. I would love to bring you along with me." He then tossed the ball at Houndour as the struggle to capture the last one played through his mind like a never ending nightmare.

The houndour tilted its head as Marchbaby talked to it, it glanced back at its own fur as it wondered if there really was something special about it. It had only brought it trouble and it couldn't understand why anyone could be interested in it due to its fur. The houndour was lonely though, and it was hungry, while it was powerful it ribs still showed. A blue coat neither shielded during the day nor the night, where it lit up at the smallest moonlight and warned its prey long before it got close enough to catch them. It had been lucky until now, finding injured prey and now it was strong it could steal chase others from their food and take it for itself. It looked intently at Marchbaby, it would love to live with others again and being more would make it easier to help each other to get food. It looked him up and down, Marchbaby didn't really look like he would be good at chasing prey in the way which was houndours preferred method when hunting in pairs, but he had said he had others, perhaps they would welcome it into their pack? If others had accepted Marchbaby as a part of their pack, he couldn't be completely useless, and hoped was instilled in it. It flinched as the pokebal flew through the air, but it was quick to guess it was this strange creature's way of inviting into his pack, although it yelped surprised when it was sucked inside, and it fought it bravely as it didn't understood what was going on. The safari ball won this time and hopefully the houndour was in for an easier life than the one it left. Capture roll: nLMxd|tv1-100
Success!

Marchbaby could hardly believe his eyes as the Safari Ball clicked shut. After the first Houndour he captured he thought for sure a shiny one would have fought against being captured even harder only for the exact opposite to be true. " I cannot complain, I am thrilled to capture a shiny Houndour." Now that he had captured Houndour he really wasn't sure if he should move on yet or not. The desert had been great to him so far and he hadn't even had half of his allowed encounters yet. As badly as he wanted to explore the rest of the Safari Zone he decided to try one more time for an encounter before moving on. It was then that he came up with a nickname for his newly caught Houndour. " I think I will call her blue." He whispered to himself. As he did he kept a lookout for any other Pokemon coming his way trying to get as much as he could out of this trip. OOC: Waiting for another encounter in the desert Houndour Code: Shiny HoundourName: Blue Gender: Female Level: 28 OT: Marchbaby Moves: Bite, Odor Sleuth, Beat Up, Fire Fang. Ability: Flash Fire Nature/Personality: Modest, A rather friendly Houndour at least going by her species normal temperament, Blue is rather cursed by her unique coloration as she stands out in a crowd. Even so she can pack quite a bite if angered and her flames fill any of her opponents with fear.

A shadow moved behind some boulders in the distance, a pokemon was on the prowl and it had been following this houndour for some time. It was easy to spot and had been tireless in its hunting, it had been easy to steal prey from under its nose more than once. Luxio had just got big enough to leave its pride and it took all opportunities there were, it had lived a sheltered life with enough to eat and a lot of training among its siblings in their playing, so it was agile and could run for hours. The luxio sneaked closer, something weird was up ahead and it had seen a strange flash which came from that. It's target, the blue houndour had disappeared and this might be the reason. And if not, it would need to figure out where it had disappeared to so it could continue with its bullying and easy access to food. It crawled forward, but to Marchbaby it quickly became visible, it paused and its tail flicked back and forth as it studied this strange creature. It tried to figure out if he was edible or something to avoid, it had learned long time ago not to underestimate otherwise weak looking creatures. Some were poisonous! The Luxio appearing next filled Marchbaby with joy as he had not yet captured a SHinx or any of its revolutions yet. He was sure it would make a great addition to his team if he were able to capture it but it certainly did not look like it would be easy for him to do. Even so he had gotten lucky a number of times so far and he hoped he could keep the streak up and add a new friend to his team. " Why hello there, I promise you I mean no harm but since you are here I would like to offer you the chance to join my team. I could always use another powerful electric type to help Shocker get more rest."
He then grabbed one of his Safari Balls and took aim at the feline Pokemon. As he crossed his fingers for good luck her tossed the ball at the large feline and hoped against all odds that luck would still be one his side at least one more time. As lucky as he had been so far he would take anything he could good to make this free trip even more of a jackpot.

The strange being proceeded to make a whole array of noises. None of which the wild shut-in had ever heard before but the range was quite impressive. What was its purpose? Marchbaby hadn't made any approach toward the luxio but had produced an object that was somewhat familiar. Luxio's hair stood on end as it watched the spherical device enter the air and head toward it. All of its senses told it not to get hit by that thing, and so at the last moment it hopped out of the way. With a soft plopping sound the safari ball sunk into the sand. With its top half still visible luxio sniffed at the man-made object. It smelled like nothing it'd ever interacted with before. There was a faint whiff of Marchbaby on it but otherwise the thing didn't seem to have any actual smell of its own. It was hollow. This revelation seemed to intrigue the wild pokémon further. How curious it was to find something that was so small yet resembled the vehicles the safari caretakers would travel in. Luxio had never been anywhere near them before but had had enough stories from its pack to know to stay away. But this? This didn't seem to do anything at all. Luxio turned its head back around to Marchbaby, watching cautiously to see what he would do next. It took a step away from the ball and then proceeded to kick up sand to cover it up. It didn't want that thing suddenly jumping up and doing something while it paid attention to the trainer. Seeing Lucio avoid being captured the first time was a bit discouraging to Marchbaby as he would love to capture the Lucio but as the feline did not run off he still had a chance to try and convince it to come along with him. " I don't blame you at all for being hesitant to come along. As I have experience working with Pokemon who are not fully trustworthy of humans I can promise you if you come along with me it will be worth it. A number of my Pokemon would love to work with you." He then grabbed another Safari Ball and got ready to try again.
As tempting as throwing a rock or using bait was he didn't want to miss his chance at capturing Lucio if at all possible. " I really hope you will.trsut me this time." He then tossed the ball at Lucio hoping that this time luck would be on his side.

Luxio continued to stare at the man as he spoke. It didn't look like it was going anywhere. March's continual friendly tone and non-aggressive actions was starting to get through to the wild one. It wasn't sure what it was supposed to do. Out here it was usually all about survival when you were out alone. Its long tail flowed back and forth as it considered what to do with this man. When the second ball was thrown Luxio decided this time, maybe this time, it would see what was up with this thing. The other one had done nothing at all when it hit the ground; almost like a rock. But it sounded hollow. Luxio allowed the safari ball to hit it and suck it inside. What happened after that is hard to say, though there looked to be little resistance as the device chimed success shortly afterward. Marchbaby could hardly contain his excitement as the Luxio decided to trust him this time as the Safari Ball managed to capture the electric feline without any issue. " Yes this is wonderful. Now to come up with a good name for you." He said trying to think of a name for such a determined Pokemon. It took a little while as he wanted something a bit more creative than usual but after a while it struck him. " I will call you Vitani as you have a warriors spirit and you are quite a determined little devil as well." Now that he had a good name for her he had to decide where t go next. " This desert had been far too kind to me but it is time to move on before I hit my encounter cap. I think the Marsh will be a good place to look next but I have to pass through the Savannah first. At least the rules don't require an encounter to travel through them." He said as he set out for the Savannah. Upon reaching the area he was impressed by the vastness of the open area of the Savannah but he did not want to stick around as he felt the Marsh would have a better selection of Pokemon so he continued on staying as far away as he could from the local Pokemon. As he finally reached the Marsh he then set out to find whatever he could hoping it would be as good to him as the Desert had been. " They sure didn't lie about this area being a Marsh, getting around here is a mess. I wonder what kind of Pokemon call this area home?" He pondered to himself as he tried to find any Pokemon that might be interested in him. OOC: LuxioName: Vitani Gender: Female Level: 30 OT: Marchbaby Moves: Bite, Roar, Swagger, Spark Ability: Rivalry Nature/Personality: Adamant, Vitani is a very proud Pokemon who doesn't back down from a fight and who always tries to challenge any female Pokemon she comes across.
