Although it was clear that Joey had the advantage with Quick Attack, he made a pretty strange decision on the next turn. “Rattata!” He called out to his rattata. “Let’s show ‘em our moves! Hit that bulbasaur with a powerful tackle attack!” The rattata gave a quick shake of his tail and a determined look towards the grass-type, as if agreeing to his trainer’s words. However, this time around, the almost invisible strings he was still bound by would give Oasis the chance to strike before he could. With a release of the array of seeds towards rattata, there was no chance for dodging it. Although the rattata got hit, he didn’t feel any pain… Yet. He looked up at the bulbasaur, barely moving after being hit with the seeds. “That doesn’t hurt us! Rattata go, quick!” The rattata began his charge for Oasis, and gave another tough full-body slam into the bulbasaur. “Rattata!” The pokemon let out, full of confidence and the pumped-up ego that his trainer filled him with. Arriving at his trainer’s feet, however, Joey's rattata would then feel his energy being drained from the bulbasaur. His body felt limp for a moment, but shortly he was back into the action. He wasn’t going to let some silly seeds get in the way of their victory. “Rattata, you’re okay! Hang strong!”New Bark Trainer Battle VS Youngster Joey Weather Status: Clear Joey's Top % Rattata | Level 5 | Guts Health : 63% (12/19)Status : -1 Speed, Leech SeedUsed Tackle! Yuki didn’t feel the same confidence that the trainer did. Yes, he was confident, but not to the same annoying level. His was more silent and calm. One where he was certain of the abilities of his partner, but wouldn’t boast about it. Doing so would only make him look like a fool. Just like a certain rat trainer. But he needs to approach with caution.
Bulbasaur doesn’t look to be doing so well at the moment. Furthermore, their opponent looked to still have a good amount of stamina left, even with the leech seed. There wasn’t many options. Knowing this, he ordered his pokemon to use tackle.

Youngster Joey pulled on his baseball cap and turned it around to straighten it on his head. He was nervous, but he needed to stand strong and confident for his Pokemon. Rattata paused and turned back to stare up at Joey with a worried expression. The young trainer snapped his fingers and stomped his foot into the earthen ground. “Rattata, don’t give in yet! We’re not done, yet!” The furry purple rodent nodded its head and twitched its whiskers as it turned back around to face off with the large green grass Pokemon with its large bulb planted firmly on its back. “You gotta switch up and use Quick Attack. Don’t let this Bulbasaur slow you down!”The Rattata cried out with a brave battle cry. It thumped its tail on the ground and launched itself off through the tall grasses. It disappeared between the tall grasses and the overgrown weeds, with only the swaying of grass and dandelions giving away its presence. As the Bulbasaur rushed after the other Pokemon, they ran in a headlong chase through the route, with Bulbasaur running around medium-sized boulders and small tree trunks. Rattata managed to corner the Bulbasaur and rammed into the Pokemon, slamming itself head-first into Oasis’ side. The Bulbasaur regained and steadied itself as it began charging forward towards the Rattata. “Your Bulbasaur is actually impressive. I don’t think it’s gunna be strong enough to defeat us, but it’s really strong!” The Youngster commented to Yuki on his starter Pokemon. Bulbasaur rammed into the Rattata’s chest and knocked the purple rodent. It caused Joey’s Pokemon to fly up and skid backwards through the grasses, bumping up against a large boulder. The seeds dug into Rattata’s fur and drained a little more health. Joey was starting to worry nervously for his Rattata, but he had to believe they would overcome this challenge as the victors. Yuki was starting to get worried about his Pokemon. The battle was doing more damage to her than he initially expected. Thinking back on it, he shouldn’t have been surprised. Both Pokémon are around the same level and strength. Bulbasaur was a little higher, but only a bit. It wasn’t enough to make a good different. As anyone who stopped to watch the battle can see. Even as Joey complimented his Pokemon, he didn’t bother responding. His mind was too focused on the little grass type. This may be the final move of the battle. Oasis rushed forward with another tackle.

"Come on Rattata! Show me why you are the best! Quick Attack!" Joey shouted eagerly with only a hint of worry, that his great and mighty rattata might not cut the chase. It was going to be a very close call, that was certain but Joey was not going to give or beginning to doubt his beloved rat. He knew what is was capable off and if he just believed they would win it all! The quickness of the Quick Attack made Rattata the fastest once again, and that would be Oasis' downfall. Rattata scooted around the slower and more bulky grass type and slammed into her side. Her legs buckled under her and she felt the darkness from exhaustion take over, she wouldn't be able to battle anymore, nor getting through with her initial attack. "Yeah! You are so great Rattata! That was awesome!" Joey shouted as he had won yet again, and all because his rattata was the best of the best, the most amazing of them all. "You did it, you did it, we won, we won," he sang as he danced around in a silly victory dance, while his rattata stood with shaking legs and looked immensely relieved that she didn't have to face off this strong bulbasaur any more. It wasn't all over though, as Yuki still had a pokemon left and for reasons unknown to the ones present, she decided to jump out of her pokeball, all by herself. Perhaps she had felt the loss of her team mate, or perhaps she had hoped to try sneak away while they were busy? Perhaps she had just wanted to see what was going on. What ever the reason she jumped in just in time to see Rattata succumb to the leech seed, and she even stood on some of the roots from it, which transferred the energy from the rattata and to her. She got to experience to win a battle without really having to do anything for it, but it would give her a much needed boost. Joey stood gaping as his victory had suddenly turned to a loss, and without any attack having even been ordered. Then he laughed sheepishly. "I hadn't thought of that," he said and went to pick up his fainted rattata, whom he gave a hug. "But you are still the Top Percentage rattata there is," he told it before he recalled it, he hadn't lost to another rattata after all so his pokemon was still the coolest of its species. Joey ran over to Yuki and handed him some money. "That was a fun battle! Your bulbasar is really strong! But not as cool as my rattata," he laughed confidently, and with that he ran off between the trees. The battle’s outcome should have been predictable. The two of them only used one attack throughout the entire battle. One was a simple body tackle and the other made to enhance the pokemon’s own speed, dramatically. However, he still hoped to win. Hoped that his Pokemon landed her attack first and defeat the rat pokemon. But when was the last time hoping did anyone good? Rattata slammed itself into Oasis, which made her take most of the damage. Her legs gave out, signaling her defeat. Yuki didn’t suppress the annoyed sigh that crawled out of his throat and simply returned the grass type. But he wasn’t ending the battle.
The wanderer pulled out a second pokeball and released his bug out to finish the rat off. No one said anything about this being a one on one, right? Rattata was too exhausted from the battle with Bulbasaur to properly defend itself. This gave her the much needed opening to land the final blow on Joey’s prized rat. ”Really strong?” Yuki questioned aloud, but Joey was out of range of the question. He wouldn’t say that. The little thing just started battling. Both of them had a long way to go.

The weather turned colder as Yuki walked, and soon he reached an area which was covered in snow. Its surface was crusty from frost so it had been laying there for quite some time, and it was crisscrossed by several old pawprints which was impossible to see what originally had made them. This being out in the wild and not in a town, made that the snow still was white and rather clean even though it had been several days since it had fallen. It crunched under every step and it left a fresh sharpness in the air. There weren't many wild pokemon around though, the snow did a good job in hiding food sources so he might need to find another area with less snow if he wanted a battle. Or he could wait around as sounds of something running over the snow came through the trees. A rattata bursted into the open and made a stumbling halt as it noticed Yuki and a short moment of panic grabbed it as it tried to figure out what to do. That was a mistake as a cyndaquil bursted right after it and didn't hold back on a tackle, which sent the purple rat flailing into the snow, where it lay gasping. Cyndaquil trotted to its side and stood like a guard, clearly to keep the rat from running anywhere, but it had its face towards Yuki and looked like it much rather want to give him some attention. The wait wouldn't be long as a red haired boy soon after came strolling from where the two pokemon had appeared. He shot the rattata a disdainfully glance and turned away from it. Cyndaquil looked between its trainer and the rattata, and pushed the latter back into the snow when it tried to stand up, the fire mouse wasn't certain if its trainer wanted to catch this pokemon or not. The way the red haired looked Yuki up and down could be described as unimpressed at best. "Do you have any pokemon?" He asked and sounded bored, "any that are worth my time to let Cyndaquil train against I mean."While he waited for an answer he glanced back at his fire mouse, who still had a paw on the rattata. "Leave that thing, its not worth it," he snapped and Cyndaquil scrambled to join him and looked eager to battle whatever Yuki had. It took some moments before the rattata dared to sneak away. The sound of snow being crushed under his shoes reached his ears. A sound that didn’t catch him completely off guard. Yuki wasn’t too oblivous to the colder weather during his travels. It was that time of the year, after all. It’s going to be cold, at least a little bit. The cold air reacting his bones made him wish he dress better for it. Ignorance got the better of him this time. Did the town have winter clothing for sale? He hoped so. The journey to Violet City will be a terrible one if not.
The sound of running made Yuki go for a pokeball, but nothing came from this action. A mouse like Pokémon already attacked the wild rattata before he can do anything. His body rested for a moment. A wild territory battle? This wasn’t the case as a red head walked up to the fire type with an order. A trainer’s than. ”Worth your time? Such arrogance...” Yuki spoke in a low tone of voice, commenting on the red head’s attitude. Such an ego will be his downfall. He grabbed a Pokemon while thinking about the trainer. Why did he look so familiar? Bulbasaur came out of the ball and used leech seed on the enemy Pokemon, starting the battle.

Silver raised an eyebrow as he waited for Yuki's answer, and only got a mumble as response. It was nice change of pace compared to all the whining kids the red head had seen on the route until now, and beaten a few of them as well, but they were no match for him, or his cyndaquil, no matter how untrained it was. Silver shrugged bored, "I'm just telling the truth, if you give no resistance I'd get much more training out of a random wild pokemon than standing around here," he said and looked at the grass type that appeared. "You are lucky my Cyndaquil is so inexperienced or you would really have been a waste of time since you are sending out a grass type against my fire," the red head continued and his fire mouse scraped the ground impatiently. "Smokescreen," Silver ordered and Cyndaquil looked disappointed for a second before it filled the area with a black smoke, making it hard for Oasis to see what she was doing. She managed to locate her opponent and sent several seeds at it, which sprouted and zapped a bit of its energy. She didn't really feel any gain herself as she was not tired at all. A wind whipped up and rushed unhindered over the frozen and still ground, it didn't affect the current battle at all, but a bird might be able to take advantage of it. ”A waste of time?” Yuki asked with a offended tone. They would have been a waste of time because Oasis is a grass type? ”Your so engrossed in the idea of type matches to the point that this can’t be considered a contest? If they were to have moved of their element? That is beyond arrogant.” The low voice tone didn’t stop his words from carrying weight. Yuki was inexperienced as a trainer, but it didn’t stop him from seeing this fault in the red head. The pair’s vision was hindered by the black smoke created by Cyndaquil. He quickly understood the intention. If a fire move wasn’t in it’s arsenal then improvision was required. Not bad. Not bad at all. But it will take more to defeat them. Yuki didn’t shout an order and yet his Pokémon moved. It attempted to find the fire mouse so she can tackle into it.

"It is the truth!" The red head snapped, "Right now your pathetic pokemon are a decent opponent because cyndaquil is equally pathetic, had it been strong enough to breathe fire yours would have been done for!"He huffed and rolled his eyes when he was called arrogant, he was just realistic! "But please do enlighten me, how will you keep your precious grass type alive if faced off against a fire type, fi you don't plan on switching it out like any other sensible trainer?" Silver asked mockingly and would love to hear what Yuki could present of tactics on that topic. Either he could mock him for it, or there was actually something useful he could use himself later on, although he would of course never admit it to the other trainer. As Oasis moved on his own Silver barked out his own order of another Tackle. "You are not even controlling your pokemon, what trainer you are," he scoffed. Oasis had no trouble finding and colliding with the cyndaquil, as the two pokemon raced at each other and crashed into each other midway. Their strengths were about the same but at the moment the Leech Seed gave Oasis the upper hand. "Try avoid its attacks furball! It won't miss you if you run straight at it!" Silver snapped at his cyndaquil who looked surprised at him. It had never thought of that. Yuki only narrowed his eyes at the red head, getting a bad taste in his mouth from his words. He didn’t fight back by shouting at the trainer or throwing insults. Such actions never yield the desire results. They only escalate into a childish shouting match one would see in a school yard. ”She will just need to learn to fight fire types.” The explanation was short and simple. Words spoken as easily as he breathed. ”You really believe that a battle is over before it begins simply due to the type up? You have no future as a traine if that is really the case. What will you do if you run into a opponent who can counter each type in your team?” Yuki never experienced such a thing before. This was his second trainer battle, after all. However, he still believed his words. The idea that type match ups rule the world of battling is one he disagrees with. ”I don’t order her as much because she knows what she is doing.” Oasis started rushing for Cyndaquil not a moment soon. She ran right for him, but kicked up snow to surprise the fire type. She then circled around to run right into him.

"Good luck!" Silver scoffed, "I assume that means you have no idea on how do that, unless you of course mean to let a fully evolved pokemon battle a newly hatched on."It was easy enough to say you just wanted them strong enough and Silver did agree, that if you just got a pokemon stronger than anything else you would meet, it should be able to handle everything thrown at it. "No, I don't, but I can see how weak your bulbasaur is and I doubt it would be able to handle any fire at all. It is probably for the better so my cyndaquil can actually learn a thing or two," Silver said with a shrug, while he saw himself as a good trainer who would go far, he had no high expectations of the pokemon he had acquired. For now it would have to do and it had shown some promise but if it proved to not be good enough he could always use it to catch something that could keep up with him. "I'd make sure I have something to counter theirs, or a team strong and mixed enough to take down everything," Silver said with yet another shrug, "how else would you do it?""Tackle!" Silver snapped and Cyndaquil raced forward determined, it had heard what its trainer said and it would do all it could to prove it was worth it and could become really strong! It did remember what Silver had said to it and didn't run straight at Oasis, and it looked like the bulbasaur had listened to the rival trainer as well, as she too ran around in circles. The snow kicked at it, did make the cyndaquil leaped out of the way and sent Oasis a suspicious glare, but it didn't slow it down. Cyndaquil made a sudden turn and slammed into the side of Oasis, who tried to do the same but Cyndaquil leaped out of the way and avoided her charge. Cyndaquil looked excited it had succeeded and Silver looked pleased, the little fire pokemon might have what it takes. "You are just lazy, how do you know when it doesn't? When you lose?" Silver asked, not understanding the other trainer's way of training. To him it looked like Yuki wasn't training at all but was just a spectator, what was the fun in that? Yuki didn’t reply to his opponent at first. His entire focus was on the battle happening in front of him. At first, he decided to allow his Pokémon to take control of things. She wasn’t stupid. But these initial thoughts were proving to be the downfall of him. The smokescreen did more damage to her vision. More than he assumed. Her attack went wide and she was left open for Cyndaquil. ”Tackle at the same time!” Yuki didn’t know why, but he shouted the command on instinct. The idea of her losing and him not doing anything about it finally got to him. Bulbasaur would wait for Cyndaquil to attack and clash with him.

"Meowth got your tongue?" Silver mocked as there came no response from Yuki. The red head clearly thought he had outsmarted the other trainer and that he had "won" the battle of wars they had apparently had, and which Yuki probably hadn't known about at all. "At least you can use your ears," Silver gloated as he thought that the reason that Yuki suddenly had begun to give orders was because Silver had convinced him it was the right way to do things, and that Yuki just didn't want to admit it. To Silver it had just proven that pokemon couldn't handle things on their own, they needed a strong guidance from a trainer to do good, if not they were just like a wild pokemon, and that meant losing. "Tackle, and make it count!" Silver called out and kept a close eye on his fire type. It still remembered not to run straight at Oasis, but it wasn't really sure how to handle the now unmoving bulbasaur. When they had both jumped around it had made sense to dart around and come at her side, but now running around like crazy just felt stupid when all she did was turning her head to keep an eye on it. Cyndaquil decided to do as the last time and charged into her side and then jump back, back, expecting her to react on that. Which she did but it was too slow and the air got rammed out of the fire type. It struggled to stay on its feet afterwards and Silver's expression darkened. He could see where this was heading.
