(OOC: Using TM03 Water Pulse on Horsea and moving the unnamed plushy swablu from Damien’s PC to Theo’s party, adding name/info to it. Self-updating.)
The arrival from Alto Mare was quite an exciting one for the young adult. Just a few days ago it had been his 16th birthday, but he had gotten the best gift possible for it. One ticket for a ferry ride to Cherrygrove and a companion to start his journey with. He knew his parents only had mostly water-types, but they had given him a horsea! Theo’s parents knew how much he liked dragon-types, and of course Theo knew that horsea could eventually evolve into a dragon-type in Kingdra.
Anyways, fast-forwarding to now. Theodore had found himself meeting with Professor Elm. The professor told him that he would offer a Pokemon to him as he did with all beginning trainers, but the Pokemon he normally gave out had been stolen. While this was sad, it excited Theo because that meant he could choose a charmander, A fiery hot Pokemon that eventually would evolve into a strong, dragon-like charizard. Before he could even think much, Theo had ran straight out of town towards Route 29 with his new charmander out of his ball.
Fittingly for the beautiful weather, Theo was clad in shorts and a t-shirt, as well as his favorite jacket from home to keep the slight breeze from giving him chills. Beside him walked his fiery lizard Pokemon. The fire that lit at the tip of his tail was almost mesmerising. This would be his first chance to bond with one of his new Pokemon, and he was excited for it. Theo and Galahad shared a nice smile as they walked.
“So this is how our grand adventure starts,” Theodore said to the charmander. “Char!” followed Galahad. “I wonder what or who we will find on this route. Let’s keep our eyes peeled for any danger, Galahad.” Theodore was undoubtedly excited for his first battle as a trainer as well as anything else that was ahead.

As nice day as it was for a human trainer starting on his journey it was a day like any other for the wild pokemon. Whether it was nice and calm like today, or a rainstorm wrecked half the trees, they still had to go about surviving and finding food and shelter, and everything else that was needed to live in the wild. Passing trainers were a thing they needed to handle as well, most did it by hiding until they had traveled past, a few decided to challenge the trainer for one reason or another, while the remain got discovered by accidents while doing something completely different. Which was exactly what was going to happen here. A wurmple was munching leaves in a young tree, nothing strange about that. It needed a lot of energy to grow big and strong to make a cocoon and go through evolution. It would soon need to find a good safe place to do that, but not yet, it just needed a bit more before it was ready. In a tree nearby a spearow was watching hungrily, which wasn't unsual either, the bird did eat worms if they could get their claws on them, and especially the fat ones were popular. Spearow was known to be ruthless and aggressive and this one looked to be living up to the species's name. It leaned forward and glided towards the unsuspecting wurmple, and spread its claws to be ready to snatch it off its branch. Suddenly the wurmple's head snatched around to glare at it, and the spearow looked surprised at the lack of fear it was met with, but again it was just a worm, what could it do? A lot apparently as the stringshot that met it was thick and strong, and not only hindered its movements a bit but glued the wings to the side of the body! A moment later it hung shocked head-down from the tree, one wing half stretched and the legs stuck to the branch in a very uncomfortable position, it took it a few heartbeats to grasp the situation but then it began to scream furiously and tried to wriggle free. The wurmple watched it coldly, it had not survived this long by not being quick on its small stubby feet. It looked down at the furious bird dangling below it and wondered how it could best teach it a lesson. A spearow [lvl 2] has been caught by a Wurmple [lvl 6]! What will you do?Shiny? Theodore and his charmander had been walking on a pretty straight forward path until Galahad had stopped for a moment and pointed out a wurmple in a nearby tree, having itself a feast of leaves. "Char?" His blue eyes were fixed on to it. "What is it, Galahad?" Theo turned his attention to where the charmander was pointing his hand to. He saw not only the wurmple, but also a hungry spearow just a tad bit away, with its own attention fixed on the wurmple. He didn't want to watch the wurmple be eaten, but what would play out was quite a surprise to the typical rules of nature.
When the spearow hopped forward, it had made a mistake. Not long after, the spearow seemed to be hanging down from the tree in its own coccoon, trapped in a web-like material much thicker than a normal spider's. Theodore's focused and worried stare became a smile again. The display the wurmple had just put on was beautiful. A complete objection to the cruel but normal ways of nature. Galahad was watching the situation with just as much interest as Theo.
"Galahad," Theo said to his charmander, "let's help the wurmple out. Go show the spearow a lesson. Scratch it down!" The fire-type was a bit confused as to why, since it seemed like the wurmple had the situation figured out itself, but would do it anyways. ""Char, char!" Galahad began charging towards the spearow in a fast charge, his tail dragging on the ground behind, swaying back and forth, ready to scratch at the Pokemon that was unable to move. Theodore somewhat wondered what the wurmple would make of the situation. In a sense, the two seemed to be quite similar. Going against the normal way of things. Something Theodore could certainly appreciate in the wurmple, a Pokemon that certainly seemed weak to most people and trainers and was normally just a snack for hungry bird Pokemon who perfer to eat them rather than other food sources.

Mother Nature was often a cruel mistress and would leave her own children out to hang and dry in the wild. As soon as the reddish-pink Wurmple had encapsulated the other Pokemon within its sticky, stringy webby substance, the larval Pokemon had darted off underneath the foliage in the tree. It skittered across the large branches and down the impressive, wide trunk of the oak tree and disappeared just several feet away, hidden underneath a pile of brown and old fallen leaves. The Wurmple began to munch away merrily on its new stockpile of leaves, casting a wary eye back in the direction of the Spearow. Though it had been brave and had attacked the Spearow head-on, it was no fool. Safety was the wild’s decree for any bug or worm that wished to see its metamorphosis and eventually transform their small frail ground bodies into something that could fly upon impressive wings. So, it should go without saying, that the Wurmple was beyond relieved and was even a little ecstatic to see the flame-tailed lizard approach the bird bravely to swipe at it with its impressive claws. It would watch the battle from the safety of its ‘new nest’, however. Perhaps, if they were friend and not foe, it may be safe to crawl back out later?Galahad’s nails raked into the bird, cutting through the sticky stringy substance and digging into the Spearow’s sides with his sharp nails. It was a powerful blow. Perhaps the Wurmple’s web string had helped in more ways than one, when originally it had meant to b e a barrier to stop and slow the bird down from ingesting the small wurm. Whatever the case, the hit was a critical one, and raked away thick tufts of feathers from the Spearow’s beautiful plumage. The bird cawed out in a loud and defiant roar, before turning and beginning to peck Galahad on top of his head. Down, but definitely not out of this fight. It would seem somewhat obvious to the Pokemon what side Theodore and Galahad had taken as the charmander swiped his mighty claw into the web. It was a massive hit, for sure, the spearow was left with little energy from just the one strike alone. It definitely would not come without consequence, however. The bird cried out before pecking away at Galahad’s head. It didn’t deal quite that much damage though, Galahad barely took notice at the pecking, it really hadn’t done much to the taller lizard-like Pokemon.
It wouldn’t take much more for the fire-type to finish the bird off. With the bird free however, it was important to be wary of what it could do. Theo knew his companion was faster though. “Gally,” Theo called out to his Pokemon, “You know what you need to do. Swipe at the bird again and finish it off!” He turned his attention to the angry bird Pokemon. “The wurmple is not for snacking on.” Galahad raised his left claw and then slashed down once more at the bird. Theodore made a slight notice of the sound of leaves as the wurmple had darted off. He was glad they were able to help it from the way things typically go in these situations, even if perhaps the wurmple could’ve fended for itself.

Sprearow stretched out its mighty wings and let out a loud cawing sound. The reddish-brown feathered bird’s eyes narrowed on the flame-tailed lizard. Wherever the Spearow’s lunch had secretly scurried off to, now a human trainer and its fire-breath Charmander stood in its way. It kicked at the ground with its sharp clawed feet and ducked its head rhythmically in a bobbing fashion as if to egg the boy’s scaly orange partner on. The pinkish-red larval Pokemon poked its head out from the safety of the grassy bushes several feet away from the battle scene. Had the young trainer come to its rescue, or were they doing as all the other trainers on the route? Nervousness and fear glued it momentarily to the spot, as the Wurmple watched silently and gauged the reaction of the two fighters on the scene. It started murmuring excitedly as the Charmander surged forward and knocked the Spearow out with one final swipe of its sharp claws. Down and out. The Spearow slumped over, exhausted, on the ground. In an instance, the Wurmple ran up and over to Theodore. If the boy didn’t react – and quickly – the pinkish-red worm would try to crawl up the side of Theodore’s leg. It bounced up and down excitedly, cooing soft sweet syllables of adoration and praise at the young trainer. ”Wurmple Wurm-PLE!” Would the young lad shove this excited bug Pokemon desperate to show its appreciate off with a shrug, or would he welcome this Pokemon’s praises? Theodore looked pleased with how well Galahad had come to the aid of the wurmple and how well he had performed in responding to the call of the battle. “Great job, Galahad! You did great!” Now about that wurmple… Oh it was right in front of Theo. The arrival of the wurmple so close without him noticing almost spooked him. “Char?” Gally looked towards the Pokemon and then back to his trainer.
Theo watched as the wurmple excitedly seemed to … thank him? Yeah, that would make sense. Him and Gally had just defeated a bird Pokemon that could’ve easily made a snack out of it. As the wurmple bounced up and down, Theo ran over some things in his mind. Sure, it certainly wasn’t a dragon, that was certain. But trainers could carry six Pokemon, and it wasn’t like he already had six dragons to carry… Perhaps the wurmple could tag along for now? “You seem like you are quite excited,” Theo spoke to the wurmple, letting it climb up his leg if it’d like. After musing on it for long enough for the Pokemon to have potentially climbed up his body, Theo reached into his bag with one of his hands and pulled out a Pokeball. “Tell you what. What if you come with us for now and we help you become stronger?”
He tapped the Pokeball on the wurmple’s body, for better or worse.

The pinkish-red larval Pokemon crawled up the length of Theodore’s leg with great enthusiasm. It purred and cooed soft, happy sounds. Already, it was evident that the pink worm seemed to treat Theodore and his flame-tailed lizard companion as something similar likened to that of a hero, though whether it thought of the human so highly might have been undetermined. Still, the Wurmple scurried all the way up until it could perch on Theo’s shoulder and bounced on the young lad’s shoulder as it shouted out praises to the Galahad. “Wurmple! Wurm ple!” It cheered. Then, Theodore pulled out a red-and-white spherical device that caught Wurmple curiosity and confused the wild Pokemon. The reddish-pink worm had seen these Pokeballs only a handful of times, and they sometimes followed the release of another Pokemon. But Theodore wasn’t calling out a Pokemon to fight the Wurmple? A glance up at the friendly boy and it could tell this. So….was he offering the Wurmple a Pokeball….? It wasn’t long before the reddish-pink larval Pokemon’s questions would be answered. Theodore tapped the Pokeball against the Wurmple, and it disappeared into the device with a flash of red light. The Pokeball would wriggle in Theodore’s hand as the Wurmple fought against the contraption for only a second. Wriggle…Ding! Only one good shake and the ball resounded with the sounds of a successful capture! Theodore caught Wurmple [Level 6]!WurmpleName: [choose] Gender: [choose] Level: 6 OT: Theodore Gill Moves: Tackle, String Shot, Poison Sting Ability: Shield Dust Nature/Personality: [choose] Feel free to include Wurmple's info and add to your party! As previously noted, the Pokeball has already been deducted so no need for that note! Also, I know we give levels is they're captured or defeated. Technically Spearow was defeated and Wurmple was captured, so that means Galahad gained levels? Applied this to your Pokemon!

Self-Updated Dagonet the wurmple ^^
Theodore wasn’t sure if the bug Pokemon had understood his words. It made no hesitation as it scurried up the trainer’s body and perched itself on his shoulder. As if that wasn’t an answer to his question before the Pokeball sucked the wurmple in and landed on the ground, Theo wasn’t sure what would’ve been. After one quick wiggle, the ball let out a sound Theodore hadn’t heard from it yet. Ting! The teenager assumed that had meant that the capture had been successful and picked it up.
“Welcome to the team,” Theo said. “I think I’ll name you Dagonet.” With that said, he attached the Pokeball to his belt and then he then turned to Galahad. “You did great! You certainly are one tough charmander. Come on, it’s getting late. Let’s try to get to Cherrygrove before night falls upon us.” It wasn’t that Theo was afraid of what Pokemon would come out at night, it was rather that he wanted to use the time of the day to motivate them to keep moving. As they continued to walk, the sun would begin to set in a beautiful display of color. The weather as the night took over the day, the beautiful pink clouds in the sky, it all was an amazing sight for the duo to take in.
“What do you think of it, Gally?” Theodore asked his charmander when they had stopped to admire the view. The charmanders gaze hadn’t left the sky, his eyes seeming somewhat starry. “Char…” Gallahad said, his voice fading off. He certainly found the view stunning. “Bet you never saw that in the lab,” Theo joked to his Pokemon. As they both let out a little laugh. It had been a great day. Once night took its full position in the sky and the sun was out of view, they moved on the rest of the way to Cherrygrove.
“C’mon, we got a big adventure ahead of us!”
