Pets! Everyone loves animals so how many people here actually own a pet? For most of my life i've usually owned cats but when I was younger I did own a single Rabbit and a load of Guinea Pigs. We started getting cats after the next door neighbour's one kept mooching around our old home. My current pet is a cat named Bo (After David Bowie I believe, as they both share different coloured eyes. Although Bo's is natural heterochromia and Bowie's was an accident from what I know...) Here's two pictures of my cat. Click and Clicky. I often refer to her as a Malkavaian kitty, as like the vampire clan members in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, she's rather insane and again has different coloured eyes.

Jeez, where do I start? XDXD
Back when we were younger, my parents didn't allow us to keep furry animals, so we were stuck with an armada of those small, red-earred terrapins (vicious little buggers, I might add), a collection of bugs from Praying Mantises to Millipedes, and one iguana-like thing I managed to catch (I asked my mom for a lizard pet, she told me to get one from the forest behind our home. Lo behold she showed me one which was lounging out on our swingset which I Steve Irwin'd after it bloodied some of my fingers.).
It was only recently that my mom (grudgingly) allowed me to bring in a stray I picked up while coming back from work. One of those little street tabby things, I named her Amadea. She's a real sweetheart. I'd get pics up here, but my camera's stuck in my college dorm.

Amadea is such a sweet name! And strays are usually full of such character. The pet cat I had before Bo was a stray which was rescued and he was always off gallivanting around. Bless his little black paws. You've had quite a variety of pets though over the years it sounds.

Your cat is beautiful, Joey. Cats have always been my favorite animals, first in fact even before horses, which I have a passion for despite my... lack thereof. I have a calico and a tuxedo, both of which have darling personalities. I love them very much but I hate thinking about how I only have a few more years left with them. Callie is around 8ish and Snoopy is about 6 or 7. So far so good, though, even Callie is still a bundle of energy despite being about 16 pounds (: My cat, Snoopy, is more or less a dog - seriously, quite the dog-like habits. Eats about everything you give him, has to lick everything to investigate, wags his tail in greeting! Callie!Callie again!Pal-Pal!SnoopySnoop-Snoop!Poopi!Poopas!Classic..About a year and a half ago, we decided to start catching wild pigs for the idea of feeding, fattening, and eventually eating them... So far, we've caught 5, let 1 go, sold 1, and eaten 2 others... I know for some people that might sound brutal and inhumane, but I don't think so. Pigs are very intelligent creatures, but these are wild pigs; around my area we have an over-population of wild boars and many of them are starving to death. The few that we've caught and fattened have lived happier, healtheir lives than those out there that are starving to death. And at least we actually care for the animals and treat them well, as opposed to the bulk farms where animals are kept in tiny living spaces and given no attention whatsoever. That's my disclaimer, here's the pictures! Bacon and Mr. Wiggles. Bacon was the first pig we caught, he's the handsome brown one with the golden muzzle. He had quite the personality before we butchered him, he had a fear of shoes but he would eat almost anything you gave him! This is our littlest guy, Mr. Wiggles. This picture was taken about a year ago and he's more than quadrupled his size. He's the only one still left that we care for, and he's more our pet than anything else. He's the only one that ever let us pet him and we can get inside the pen with him freely. He's still a powerful animal, though, so we have to be cautious. Bacon + Mr. Wiggles. By the way, we caught Wiggles completely by hand. (: He was so small that we caught him in a fishing net. We named him Wiggles because of the way his butt wiggled as he ran XD Bacon being silly.Bacon being sillier!Wiggles within the first week of catching him. Isn't he so tiny and pretty?? He was so young in fact that we couldn't see any of his male parts and actually thought he was a female. His original name: Mrs. Wiggles! My favorite pig picture! That's my hand! The family of pigs.. We never really named that female, she was either just "the female" or occaisionally "Sally."

Wow! A nice lengthy post there, Slash. I had fun reading through that all and it sounds like you're a true animal lover through and through. Your cats are gorgeous, especially Snoopy. He reminds me of my old cat. Black cats are just adorable though. So much for being bad luck, eh? Too bad i'm not superstitious. I also wouldn't say raising your pigs for the sole reason for eating is a particularly bad one. At least you can say you gave them a comfortable experience for the duration of their lives as opposed to being strays. It must be heart wrenching eating them though. ;_; They look like a lovely bunch though. ;D Must be awesome hearing all the oinking.

I have to admit, it is pretty heartwrenching for someone like me - I'm an animal lover through and through, but your point was exactly mine; they really enjoy life. Seriously, they get fed clean, fresh corn and practically gourmet leftovers. Wiggles got such personality too, he's really a barrel of fun and he knows it ^^

We've never had a lot of animals, mainly because we live pretty well in town. We have a small lot and thus, not a lot of yard space for pets. We haven't had a dog in years and currently, we own just one pet. He is a cat named Moo-Cow.
He's an adorable little cat. He was originally a stray we picked up when he was a kitten. He would wonder around our home and eat the cat food we had out for our other cat Katie (dead now). He then just soon became one of our pets. I named him Moo-Cow since he's white with black spots... like a cow! There is only one thing about him that I don't like and that's because he is a "happy droller". He drools really, really bad when you pet him and he shakes it all over himself. For about five seconds all is dry, then the next he's got ya covered in spit. I'm afraid to let him sleep on my bed because of that.

For about five seconds all is dry, then the next he's got ya covered in spit. I'm afraid to let him sleep on my bed because of that. Sounds a lot like my boy, Snoopy, he's just a crazy guy and yes, he often drools when he's enjoying his rubdowns. In fact, he usually drools after he invites himself on top of my belly and forces my to pet them, afterwards shaking the drool all over my face. He also sleeps with his tongue sticking out... As Joey said, I agree that strays oftentimes have the most wonderful personalities. Many years back we adopted a stray, it happened just as Moo-Cow happened for you. We started feeding him and eventually viewed him as a pet after he stuck around for months on end and began to trust us. He was honestly the sweetest little scrap of fur you could ever meet. He loved attention and would be your shadow as long as you were outside (we kept him as an outdoor pet.) If you were sitting down for some reason he was immediately on your lap. He was just a real pal to have around and I was very upset we he later died after about 4 years, from a terminal diseas called Feline Infectious Paratinitus. It's basically an airborne illness that transfers from one cat to another upon close contact, affects only cats and cannot be treated. We put him down as soon as possible of course because he was suffering bad and we just wanted him to die as happy as he could be. Hmm, in the future when I have my own house, I'm going to want several specific pets. My favorite breed of dog is a German Shepherd, I think they're beautiful, graceful, and extremely loyal animals. I also love Akita, Shiba Inu, Malamutes, wolf hybrids, and Husky breeds. One day I'll have them all... XD And, of course, I want several horses, all free to walk around my fenced yard and greet me as I walk out my front door. .......-has it all planned like a n00b-

My first pet was a Campbell's Russian Dwarf Hamster. I was very young, and although I adored the little creature, I probably didn't care for him as much as I should have.. I named him 'Chalky' as he was brown on top - like, 'CHOC'olate, and white on bottom - like 'CHALK'.. yes, I was such a creative child v____v He was a sweet little thing, so fluffy, cute, and full of personality. He used to climb all over the cage, hanging from the ceiling bars and using his arms to walk across them. His belly fur was dyed pink after a few days of owning him.. xD It was cute, and separated him from other Dwarves x) He had a wooden ball toy or something, coloured red or pink, and he somehow got it wet then rolled over it.. dyed pink for the rest of his life, no idea why it never washed off.. His middle name was 'Jesus' or something else Shepard-related that I can't remember; he had a hooked green stick that he often used to lean on, standing on his hind legs, to lever himself to look out over the top of his little castle ^^
Currently, I own a beauuuutiful little white budgie; his name is 'Berlin'. Pure white feathers all over his body; when he's sleeping with his head tucked into his wings, he looks like a pretty dove x) ..I say 'he', but.. because of the colour of 'his' cere, it is quite difficult to tell. xD Pale blue on either side, with a dark blue stripe in the middle - pale blue signifying a female budgie, dark blue showing a male budgie. He sings, head-bobs, and dances often, which is more common in males, so I just refer to Berlin as a 'he'.
He has recently matured a lot in terms of singing, mimicry, acrobatics and resourcefulness (ie. methods of destruction!); taking a particular disliking to every objects within his cage, Berlin has made it his mission in life to break it all! And so he does. Knocks something down, it's picked up and replaced, and he breaks it again. He has a little bell.. Well. No matter what noise is made in the room, he immediately turns towards the bell, twittering and poking at it, most likely declaring war. Berlin is so cute, I love him, even though in the past few months he has inexplicably become rather vicious - before he began tearing the skin of anyone who comes near him, he used to fly from his cage onto my shoulder or hand, and we'd walk around the house listening to music, and watching tv, pretending to be pirates D:
His little noises are the cutest things I have ever heard. He has now mastered the sound of a creaky door opening, to the point where he can fool me xD and Pokémon sounds! The new HGSS soundtrack really stirred something up in him, as he immediately mimics and retains all of those noises - if he is awoken abruptly, he makes Eevee's call! ITSSOCUTE.
ILOVEBIRDS. When I have my own house/am rich, I am planning on filling my house with birds~! I love the wild birds that live around my house, but my heart truly belongs to Parrots. I'd love to have a big black Rooster, and a Peacock, and actually loads o___o but most of all, my favourite Parrots - a Blue & Gold Macaw, and a Hyacinth Macaw ! Very expensive though.. B&G being £1500, and a Hyacinth being $10,000.. so yeah D:
Also planning on buying another budgie eventually; looking for either a gorgeous vibrant blue-brested white bird, who shall be named 'Victor', or a sweet little grey and purple bird, named 'Munich'. ♥ .......... (or both !)

Awww Cammy, I really wish you could see the Albino Peacock that hangs around my area. He's almost always on this one particular street with his "colored brothas." Makes me wonder if he's had trouble finding a mate, since peacocks work in harmony with their beautiful feathers....
I also wish I could hear Berlin's Eevee cry. That would make me happy to have a pet bird and teach him Pokemon cries... HOW EPIC X)

Berlin sounds like a darling, Cam, <3. I have vague memories of owning a crow of all things when I was around 6-7 years old. The bugger came crashing into one of our bedrooms one fine day and was subsequently caught by our maid. He stayed a bit. Friendly sort of fellow, but we let him go after a couple of months I think since my mom was not amused by the sound he made during daylight hours. We had two pairs of 'Ayam Serama' as well, which are miniature chickens of sorts. The female had quite a bit of personality, but we didn't dare handle the rooster XDXD. He always made this screech of death whenever we tried to put him back in his cage after running around for fifteen minutes or so.
On the subject of your dream of owning what sounds like an aviary though, let me know when you have the means. Our country is infested with the damn things XDXD. Alfred Hitchock would have a field day. We've got a cavalcade of storks resting on top of the city streetlamps for one. And then I was at one of the nearby beach resorts where they actually raised and bred Peacocks and Hornbills there, so you had a clan of Hornbills snitching food off pool tables and tipping over chairs in the process, and a bunch of peacocks roosting on top of chalet roofs and/or parked vehicles. The Peacocks in particular acted like they owned the damn place X3. It was rather amusing if I don't say so myself.
