Operation: Ice Cold Dreams(F)

As Kevin and his team reached route 33 right outside of Azalea they were greeted by a loud boom caused by the thunderstorms overhead. It was far more fitting weather for a Sneasel than the humid weather around Violet City but for poor Samantha it was a nightmare. " You have got to be kidding me, a freaking thunderstorm now? Will I ever catch a break from horrible weather?" Oracle laughed at the young Braixen as she didn't mind a bit of rain personally. " It could always be worse. It could be a sandstorm and a thunderstorm combined." The mere though of which caused Samantha to groan as either would be bad enough but the two combined would be horrible.

Kevin could not help but to chuckle at the pair of canines before he sent Eiskalt back out who quickly took a liking to the new weather. " I know it is not as nice as hail, snow, or a cold weather front but this rain is far better than the heat for you at least." The added benefit of the rain was that it wouldn't melt Eiskalt's Icicle Crash attack that she wanted to practice more while she was here training. Kevin knew there were some Pokemon here that might give her trouble but it would be good practice for her to face Pokemon that could fight back.

The rain blocked out any sight of the sun but it was still bright enough to tell it was still daytime which Kevin hoped would keep at least one of two Pokemon that might give Eiskalt trouble away for the time being. " Depending on what pops out you might need to let Freyja handle it but hopefully it won't happen too often so you can catch up with her. Berserk might also be able to do some training here as well if the rain goes away." Eiskalt was bored out of her mind by now and just wanted to train as she heard something off in the distance. The rain made it hard to tell if it was a Pokemon or not but Oracle quickly answered that as she picked up on the aura.

" I sense something in the tall grass over there, Eiskalt it looks like you can start your training again." The young Sneasel wasted no time jumping into the air using her breath to summon another Icicle Crash before Kevin could even give the order. " Well it is a bit late now but Eisaklt use Icicle Crash on whatever is hiding in the grass." He said feeling the risk of attacking first would be worth it.

As Eiskalt delivered a critical hit on the young Nidoran the battle was over almost as quickly as it started as Eiskalt celebrated by sharpening her claws on a nearby tree. While doing so her claws became as hard as steel learning the move Metal Claw in the process. It was a move even Freyja had to fear as it was one of her few weaknesses. " Well it isn't quite as impressive as evolving but Metal Claw will be a very useful move for you Eiskalt. Now you will have some protection against Fairy types as well as fellow Ice types." Kevin said as the young Sneasel examined her claws quite impressed by how much more powerful they had become.

While Freyja wasn't worried quite yet the new move did close the gap between them a little and Eiskalt had now caught u to her level with no signs of slowing down so far. " Metal Claw is not a half bad move for Eiskalt, all she needs to do now is evolve and she will be quite the force to be reckoned with. That last battle certainly made decent progress towards that goal." Oracle said as she watched the young Sneasel get ready for another battle. As she did Samantha was still mad about the horrible weather and was hoping the rain would go away at any time.

" I don't know how anyone can have fun in a battle with such horrible weather. I can handle wind but rain such as this is unbearable. The sooner we get somewhere with blistering sunlight the better. My flames are useless in weather like this and it is no fun at all." Just as she said that Oracle picked up on the aura of an approaching human who was all to familiar. " Oh that pest Silver is back. When will that boy learn?" Moments later the red haired boy appeared as Eiskalt was ready for the upcoming battle. Kevin did not even have to say a word as the SNeasel lined up ready for a battle.

" Well it sure has been a long time since we last saw one another. I take it you want to battle again? Eiskalt here certainly doesn't seem to mind and you should make for some great target practice. Eiskalt use Icicle Crash on whatever he sends out to get things started." As soon as he gave the order Eiskalt leaped into the air and formed another icicle with her breath. As soon as Silver sent out a Pokemon she was ready to fling it to start things off.



OOC: Turning bicycle mode off to request a battle with Silver, Eiskalt forgets Taunt to learn Metal Claw. Eiskalt uses Icicle Crash on whatever Silver sends out.

The red-head looked about as pleased to see Kevin as the aura guardian did him. A hmph sounded as the young lad stopped in the presence of Kevin and his team, a hand going to his hip as he considered the proposition. This would be the perfect opportunity to see how much his pokémon had really grown. Not to mention the possibility of some sweet revenge for the humility of previous losses.
"Fine. Let's see what kind of power difference there is." There was a distant rumble from the sky after he begrudgingly agreed to battle. He acted like he didn't care one way or the other, but there was a glint in those ice blue eyes that spoke otherwise.

Silver pulled one of his team from his waist and released it to face the eager sneasel. Rain sizzled as the quilava formed, the droplets of cool water not agreeing with the heat expelling from the holes on the fire type's back. The starter pokémon didn't seem to be enjoying the sensation either.
"I don't expect this to go particularly well," the boy prefaced, sighing lightly, "Your fire's useless Quilava so work on other defenses: leer."

However, nearly the moment that Silver accepted and began talking Eiskalt was already launching her attack. Her ice had been ready beforehand, so all she needed to do was adjust the point to the position of her target and launch. For dramatic effect she flourished one of her talons before the thick icicle swept through the air toward her opponent. It hit its mark perfectly. Quilava, being partially distracted by his discomfort with the weather received the attack right under his chin. The impact on his throat caused him to flinch and cough. Fire sputtered from his back, the volcano pokémon shaking his head back and forth as he struggled for a second to breath properly.

The fire type's trainer was less impacted. Silver rolled his eyes and crossed his arms across his chest; frowning. He knew it was going to be rough in the rain, but this was the worst possible start.

Kevin had not been expecting Silver to use his best Pokemon to start things off though it had minimal impact on his plans as this weather and Eiskalt's Eviolite meant the Quilava would not be able to rely on fire type attacks to cause much damage. " Great job that round Eiskalt, that Icicle Crash of yours sure comes in handy in a few unexpected ways as well. I do think we will be better off using a different attack against that Quilava though as ice type moves won't bring down a fire type anytime soon." He said as the young Sneasel stared at her opponent not wishing ti give it a second to catch it's breath.

Even though luck had been on his side in the first round Kevin was not going to keep relying on luck when Eiskalt knew moves that could do neutral damage to a fire type and as a bonus that move could not miss. " I have to admit that Quilava looks pretty well trained but no matter how well trained a Pokemon is Icicle Crash can be a nasty way to catch a Pokemon off guard. Don't worry though as these next two rounds will be a bit of a shock in their own special way." He said as Eiskalt could sense what he was planning on ordering next. She extended her claws and waited for him to give the order.

As she waited for the order Oracle looked over at Freyja who by now was drenched by the rain. The poor fairy type as proud as she was of her newfound strength was not a fan of her fur coat getting messed up by the rain. " Poor Freyja seems to dislike this weather just as much as Samantha. I guess my tolerance for weather is far greater as only hail really annoys me." Samantha hearing that grew more annoyed as the rain now only kept her flames power down but it also messed up her fur as well. " I will need a trip to the hottest desert on earth by the time we get through here."

The Braixen would not have to wait long for another round of action though as Kevin decided to speed things up and have Eiskalt quickly use two attacks in a row. " Eiskalt use your Feint Attack twice in a row. Let's see if we cannot defeat this Quilava before Silver can come up with a good plan for it." Once he gave the order Eiskalt made her move towards Quilava ready to strike as soon as she was within range.

Things did not go in Silver's direction, his opponent had an arsenal of rare and strong pokemon and when he finally had the type advantage the rain put an end to it all.
"Of course it is," Silver stated and almost sounded offended, he wasn't folling himself though. Quilava was a good pokemon, or else he hadn't kept it but its strength was its fire and it couldn't use that today, it was limited what else it could do at the moment. It would be better later on but today it wouldn't be a stroll in the park.
"Planning on using electricity? Do you think that is smart in this weather?" Silver mocked as reaction and scowled as Kevin ordered his ice type to hurry up.

"Leer!" He shouted but Eiskalt was much faster and sent Quilava sprawling to the ground with a blink of an eye. The fire type dragged itself up and glared at its attacker, it was not going down without a fight!
"Scared since you want it over quickly?" Silver asked disdainfully and then glared, "I shall show you speed!"
That was all Quilava needed to hear and it leaped out of the way as Eiskalt came in to make the second blow, and the fire type slammed into her from the side and sent them both rolling to the ground. Eiskalt was not only quick on her feet and she spun and grabbed the quilava with her claws as they rolled around.
When they stopped only Eiskalt was the only one getting to her feet.

Silver huffed and recalled his fire type.
"You're lucky the water saved you today," he said and released his next pokemon, a grinning ball of ghostly gas.

Kevin chuckled at the thought of using an electric type attack in weather such as this as it would be the perfect time to use such a move. Kevin did not have any Pokemon on him that knew electric type moves but Eiskalt was doing just fine even without being able to take advantage of the weather. " I wish Eiskalt could use electric type attacks in this weather but no I don't plan on using electric type attacks as nice as they would be in this weather." As he looked back to check on his other Pokemon Samantha started to shiver as the rain continued to drench her.

" This weather needs to stop like right now. I am soaked to the bone right now." She said as she tried to brush her fur as much as she could to keep it as dry as possible. Oracle still found it quite amusing how much the fiery fox hated rain though it did make some sense as it did weaken her powers. " I don't know what is more amusing, this battle or Samantha hating the rain this much. This is just too entertaining." Samantha could only let out a groan by this point as Eiskalt showed no signs of wanting to move on from this battle anytime soonmuch to her dismay.

" Speaking of speed it sure doesn't look like your Pokemon are as fast as you think. I am in no hurry to end this battle at all as beating you is always a pleasure. Eiskalt is the only one who wants to take things rather quickly. I just don't want to waste anyone's time using not very effective attacks." He said as Eiskalt extended her claws again looking for another opportunity to strike now that Quilava had been dealt with. It was not too long before Kevin decided to order another attack hoping the weasel would get a bit of fun while she had the chance.

" Eiskalt I do think it is time for another round. You did great against Quilava but Gastly can be tricky if you are not careful. I think a trick of your own will be a great choice here. Use Freint Attack on the Gastly and show it how a real trickster fights." Within seconds the Sneasel was running towards her target ready to strike as soon as she could. This time she knew she had the type advantage and she was going to use every ounce of her strength to take advantage of that fact as she reached striking distance.

“Say what about my Pokemon?!” This kid was getting on his last nerves. Silver needed a quick way to put a stop to this foolishness that his opponent was trying to unleash. Silver would see how easily Kevin thought he would manage the fight with his team when Silver unveiled his secret weapon. The phantom black spherical ghost floated around the other Pokemon hauntingly, giggling with a wide-eyed and almost creepy stare. “Gastly gasstlly gass gaass gassttlyyy!” The red-haired lad snapped his fingers before he placed them to his lips to release a harsh whistle.

“We’re not here to make friends, Gastly!” He gave a very ‘straighten up’ authoritative order. The gaseous ball of ghostly energy spun around in the air before turning to stare at its trainer. Gastly’ face dropped, worried it had upset Silver. Silver nodded his head to the side, using the momentum to toss his long strands of hair over his shoulder and out of the way of his eye. “Let’s see how well that move works when your Pokemon can’t keep its head up. Gastly, use your Hypnosis and knock your opponent out.”

However, Gastly’s opponent moved in with a swift force. Eiskalt tricked the floating ball of energy and slashed at its opponent, using dark energy that cloaked its long claws to slash through the floating apparition. Gastly cried out with a long, wailing shrill and fell back, blinking in and out of view as it feinted. Silver growled and recalled his Pokemon with his fisted balled tightly. “Tsch!” He spat out with a scowl as he pulled out another Pokeball and summoned a small blue-and-purple bat. “Clearly Gastly isn’t fast enough. Zubat, get out here and show our opponent why they suck!” He needed to squash this kid like a bug underneath his shoe and soon.

Kevin was quite proud of Eiskalt as she knocked out another of Silver's Pokemon with hardly any effort. Even as Silver tried to provoke him Kevin kept his cool as he not only had a huge upper hand now but he also knew that the one thing Silver hated the most was losing and by defeating him it would sting more than any insult he could dish out. " Time will tell which of us is the better trainer but so far you have not shown the ability to even knock out my weakest Pokemon. I do hope this Zubat at least provides Eiskalt some challange." He said as Eiskalt stretched out her neck and smiled at her next opponent.

The young Sneasel knew she had a type advantage this time as well though it did not mean she would be holding back as Silver's gloating had annoyed even her by now. The weasel could hardly wait to go another round but before she could both Samantha and Oracle had to chime in on things so far. " I can just feel it in my bones that this horrible weather is almost over. A nice heat wave is long overdue and I look forward to it." Samantha said as she dreamed of far drier weather. Oracle on the other hand was just glad to see Eiskalt doing so well in this battle so far.

" Eiskalt really seems to be holding her own a lot better lately. Just a bit more training and we should be ready to make our way through the Ilex Forest. She should be a great help once she evolves if we run into any grass or ghost types there." As soon as she finished speaking Kevin looked over at Silver who by now was clearly annoyed at how long he was taking to pick a move. Kevin had been having fun battling him again but he was ready for the battle to come to a close and maybe teach the young lad a lesson as well.

" I have no doubt if you were nicer to your Pokemon you could become a great trainer but I guess you have yet to learn that lesson yet. Maybe a defeat here will help you learn the errors of your ways. Eiskalt use Icicle Crash on that Zubat and let's put an end to this battle." Eiskalt then leaped into the air and formed a huge icicle with her breath. She then grabbed the icicle and tossed it at the Zubat trying to put a swift end to the bat before it could launch an attack.

"Time will tell yes," Silver sneered, while he might lose this time he would come back and get revenge and show this idiot who was the better of the two. Silver had high hopes to his zubat but he too knew about type advantages and disadvantages and his flying type wouldn't have it easy against this fast and powerful ice type. Of course Silver expected his pokemon to go over and beyond such petitesses and win anyway but he doubted it would be today.
And as if it wasn't enough Kevin also expected Silver to wait politely while he made up his mind of what he wanted to do the next round.
"I don't have all day, if you are going to be a snail then you just give over the victory!" Silver said mockingly and glared at his zubat who still waited for orders.
"Don't be lazy and use Super Sonic! You better be the fastest one here, if you want to survive!" He warned it harshly and the zubat fluttered forward.
Kevin had finally made up his mind, and where he might be slow, eiskalt certainly was not. The ice slammed into the poor zubat and it was knocked out cold before it reached the ground.

Silver recalled it and the glare he sent the pokeball didn't promise good for the pokemon when it woke up again. The redhead stomped over to Kevin and threw some money at him.
"You were lucky with the weather today, but don't expect it to be this easy next time. I will show you who is the best trainer in the end," Silver said disdainfully and would ignore any comment thrown at him as he made it back to the shadow of the trees and disappeared.

Eiskalt won with ease and grew to level 23!
She also gains +1 Happiness (+14)

Silver hands you £1200 for the victory and slinks off again.

As Silver disappeared into the shadows of the nearby trees Kevin could do nothing more than shake.his head believing that Silver might not ever learn the error of his ways. " A crying shame for a boy to end up like that. If only he would learn respect for his Pokemon he might just become a great trainer. Maybe someday that lesson will finally break through but until then I am proud of you Eiskalt for such an impressive battle. Just a few more levels and then we will just need to find you a razor claw and you will be ale to.evolve. "

As fate would habe it as Kevin looked where Silver had been standing a sparkle.of light caught his eye. As he walked over to pick it up Eiskalt beat him to it and picked it up dropping the Eviolite she was holding. Kevin quickly scooped up the dropped Eviolite as he had other Pokemon that could make use of it. He then looked at the young Sneasel and smiled as now she was one step closer to evolving. The good news did not last however as the clouds above started to break apart revealing a harsh sunlight that started to beat down on all of them.

" Ah praise Arceus, I finally get a break in the weather. This sunlight is wonderful for my flames to grow in power. You all can deal with this weather for a. change. " Samantha said as she started to bask in the sunlight enjoying every second of it. Eiskalt for some reason seemed to be able to handle the weather a bit better as well thanks to her strength increasing. Kevin realizing this decided despite the weather no longer being great to allow her to stick around and try to train more despite the horrible stroke of luck the new weather brought.

" Well Eiskalt it appears mother nature is not going to give us a break for your training for the time being so I guess we will just have to battle in the heat if we want you to evolve. If luck is on our side we might just be able to evolve you into a Weavile and make our way through Ilex Forest before the weather gets too much for you to handle. " He said as the sneasel started to look around for something else to battle. As annoying as the heat would be for her ice type moves she still had a few other moves she could use if necessary to complete her current round of training.

Exeggcute are nestling close to a large oak tree. As soon as they spot Kevin and his team, they bounce up and down as though ready to fight and defend their turf.

Of all the Pokemon they had encountered on route 33 an Exeggcute was the last one they thought they would run into but it was the perfect target for Eiskalt as she had a type advantage against both. " That is a very odd encounter indeed, usually Exeggcute only live in the trees around here and headbutting them out is the only way to find them. I wouldn't feel right capturing this one as I think it might belong to someone but as it is challenging us there is nothing wrong with battling it." He said as Eiskalt bounce up and down wondering what a strange Pokemon like this was doing here.

She was not going to rush this battle at all as she did not believe Exeggcute posed much of a threat to her between it's type and how slow it seemed to be. Samantha on the other hand could barely hold back the temptation to make scrambled eggs as the weather was perfect for it. " A shame we are training Eiskalt right now, I could make us some delicious scrambled eggs right now between this weather and my flames. Eiskalt you had better not lose to what should be our lunch." She jested as Oracle barely resisted the urge to smack the back of Samantha's head for being rude.

" That poor Exeggcute really is brave but I do wonder why it thinks the grass is it's territory? A number of Pokemon here could easily defeat it on the ground and it is too slow to try and run away from any foe it is overpowered by. I sure wish we could help it find a safer area for it to claim as it's territory. Maybe after this battle we can put it in a nearby tree and it will stay there." She said as Eiskalt had worked out her plan to defeat the Exeggcute. Given the weather and the level gap she decided to stay safe and try her Feint Attack.

Kevin saw her going in to strike with the sneaky attack and agreed it was the best choice given the weather and accuracy of the moves in question. " Eiskalt you have the right idea here, Feint Attack is the way to go this time around." He said as she got within striking distance of the Exeggcute. Her Razor Claw was stillbeing tightly gripped even though she doubted she would need to rely on it's benefit until it came time to evolve but she wouldn't turn down any bonus she could get until that time arrived.


OOC: Just noting as none of Kevin's Pokemon know headbutt he cannot encounter tree Pokemon on Route 33 just those in the tall grass and though her profile was not updated after the last battle she is level 23. Eiskalt uses Feint Attack while still holding her Razor Claw. Cashing in my exp multiplier so she will still get a level from them battle and updating the meter myself.

As Eiskalt's Feint Attack scored a direct hit knocking the Exeggcute out Samantha saw a good looking spot in a nearby tree that might make a great new home for it. Using her Psychic attack she lifted the Exeggcute up and placed it in the tree to prevent it from suffering anymore harm. " There you should be safe up there. Hopefully you don't try to come back down until you evolve so you can defend yourself better." She said as the blistering heat started to get to the rest of Kevin's Pokemon. Though Eiskalt was very close to evolving Kevin knew they had to take a break until the sun went down.

They headed for the Pokemon Center in Azalea and waited a few hours for things to cool off. Even as the hours passed the heat did not die down very much but the cover of darkness did remove the risk of getting sun burned and the bright moon overhead was very pretty to look at. Eiskalt was far more interested in her Razor Claw as it started to glow in the moonlight. She could feel it's energy filling her body and knew she was one good battle away from the energy allowing her to finally evolve. Kevin could sense the energy as well and was eager to find her another opponent.

" I can feel that energy as well Eiskalt, one more battle should do it. Night time around these parts has a few Pokemon you might have a harder time with but with the sun not being out maybe both Feint Attack and Icicle Crash will be usable depending on what Pokemon we run into next." He said as Eiskalt looked at him very excited to be so close to evolving and also eager to try and win another battle before they made their way through the Ilex Forest. After a few minutes of searching Eiskalt heard something in a nearby patch of grass and got ready to attack.

Kevin decided to take the risk of using Icicle Crash this time to see how she would do with an ice type move in the hotter weather. " I know this is a bit of a risk but try your Icicle Crash first. It is worth the risk to try and cause your opponent to flinch if you do not knock it out and it is a bit more powerful than Feint Attack." After receiving her orders Eiskalt leaped into the air summoning an icicle with her breath in the process and flung it towards the patch of grass.



OOC: Eiskalt uses Icicle Crash on whatever comes out next. Using my exp multiplier again so she will get at least 1 level from this battle. Bicycle mode is still on.
