I draw a lot. So much so that it would take a very long time to post all of my artwork... But I'll show off a few pieces, they might not be entirely impressive but they are the ones that I usually feel I did my best on. This first one is a simply pastel coloring of Lucy from Elfen Lied. First time working professionally with pastels, I like them a lot - they're just messy and you have to be careful how much pressure you put on the pastel or else crumbs fall EVERYWHERE. And they smear!! I'm trying to get into the habit of shading every picture I do, but this one was a challenge as I have a very limited supply of colors. Gray was all I had to work with and it was a bit too bold. It still complimented it moreso than leaving her shadow-less, anyhow. This next one is just an extremely simple impressionist of my fat cat Callie. I just posted pictures of her, actually, you should compare them! XD My German Shepherd, drawn in about an hour total. Super quick, but it turned out nice! A random wolf for the heck of it. Possibly a WIP, haven't decided if I'm done with it yet. Brody, an OC for the heck of it, drawn really quick but given thought! More coming eventually! By the way, I'm sorry these pictures are in such bad quality. It's unfortunate that I do not have a scanner and have to upload pics from my digital camera!

Hey, not bad at all I really love your rendering of the German Sheperd, especially the pencil stroke for the fur. The only bit of nitpick I can think of is that the front legs seem a little shortish, but that could just be me, You've got a pretty good grasp of anatomy, my friend.

Yep, that's was one of the major flaws I picked out, too. The front left leg is really crammed as well. I was working with a photograph so I gues I just needed to let loose a little and go with the flow. That, and spending just a little more time on it might've worked out better. ^-^
Thanks you for your thoughts, Artmage, I'm pretty much honored to hear your opinion. xD

You've definitely got some talent, Slash! More than i'll ever have. I like your Elfen Lied drawing. I used to read the manga for that back in my younger days as well as some of the anime. So seeing that so faithfully represented is nice. ...Not to be a grouch or anything but perhaps this topic could be in the Art & Design board of the forum. Just makes more sense. Although I don't blame you for posting it here considering the A&D's current board description.

Yeah that's why I wasn't sure about where to post it. I figured this topic didn't quite fall under something that would contribute to the site in an artistic way. But if a Mod is reading this right now and disgrees they can always move it ^^

Maybe the legs of the German Shepherd are a bit to short? and your cat looks good, but ... is she really that big? Yep, legs are too short and the left forepaw is too squished, that's been established in the above posts (: And my ohhhhhh my, I find it very, very funny that you'd say that about my cat ^^ Because, yes, she is in fact that big ^-^ Weighing at about 16 pounds, in fact. The rolls on her side are totally legit, too. That is a picture I drew from her laying down on my bed and I copied her position and everything. Yes, she is that big. >) HAHA As for contests, I've enetered some, but years and years ago while I was still in elemantary school. Bad news back then >) Your artwork is adorable. With tons of practice with different kinds of techniques you won't be far from a professional. Just watch how you use those colors when shading; just one stroke in the wrong direction and its symmetry is broken.
