I don't really know what category this comes under. It could relate to Pokemon Game discussion but I hope to use these for the actual rp.
I have a special project in mind and I thought I'd throw it out to the members to help me. What I need are some suggestions for Pokemon that can be used for competitive battling and their movesets. You can enter Pokemon that are:
a) level 5
b) level 50
Thanks in advance!

My mind's not all that with it right now but for a Toxistaller level 50 Pokemon how about this: Sableye: Mean Look Toxic Detect Protect First Mean Look 'em, then spray a burst of Toxic on them and wait until they succumb to the Poison by alternating between Detect and Protect. Confuse Ray might be a worthy substitute if you don't want two protective moves. It's easily done over but oh well, thought it might be something for you to work with. I'll think up some more later.

Joey that set could be completely shut down by Taunt. But other then that I like it. >< Oak, are we counting abilities? Cause that makes a WORLD of a difference. Although I can't think of any more sets off the top of my head, you can look here. Smogon is a site dedicated to the "professional meta game" of pokemon. And they have sets on all the fully evolved pokemon. Its a great place to get a few ideas. :3

Heh, yeah, it would. But this is mostly for this forum RP right? Just how many people do you suppose will be packing Taunt for a job like that? Like Arz said, Smogon's got a good batch of movesets. Just avoid all the discussion from the members. They have to be some of the most obnoxious ingrates i've had the displeasure of seeing.

Yes, we can factor in abilities. Thanks for the link. If you're wondering what this is for, I'm trying to develop a system for members to engage in casual roleplay-style battles without the need for mods.

Hmm.. So its gonna be like the battle factory from the games? Where they can rent pokemon, with a predetermined move set, and battle it out? That sounds pretty cool. P:
Alright, abilities are fun to play with. I will throw in a few of my favorite move sets, most of wich are from smogon. xDD
Mamoswine. Item @ Life Orb Ability @ Snow Cloak Move set: ~ Earthquake ~ Ice Shard ~ Stone Edge ~ Superpower
Even though this move set is a copy, and paste from Smogon. It's pulled through for me a lot. STAB Earthquake coming off Mamoswine's beastly 130 base attack, is enough to make Arceus shake in his boots. Where Ice Shard has enough power to easily kill any dragon in the game. Its actually fairly fun to see people cry in horror as their Salamance dies to one hit to an over sized woolly mammoth pig. Stone Edge, and Super Power are both great moves, and add some extra coverage along side Earthquake and Ice Shard. The main problem with this set is defently the recoil from Life Orb, which takes 10% off from his health with every attack.
Next is one of my personal favorites Breloom. Item @ Toxic Orb Ability @ Poison Heal.
~Spore ~Focus Punch ~Seed Bomb ~Facade
At first sight, Toxic orb may sound like a horrid idea. Until you see its ability. Poison Heal, restores 1/8th of its hp when its poison. This heal is higher then the items left overs, and coupled with Spore Breloom makes an excellent bulky sweeper. Focus Punch is an awesome stab move, and coupled with spore is deadly. Sleep a foe with spore, then punch them to death.
Seed Bomb is an excellent stab move that will help provide some coverage. Facade's base power when a pokemon has a status aliment is 140. This is move is amazing to take down pokemon that resist Focus Punch, or Seed Bomb, or to take out fliers. Although Stone Edge may be a better option to take down Flyers, its accuracy is fairly shaky, so I normally use facade instead.
Hope you like my two favorite move sets. -cough cough- from Smogon -cough cough-

Here's another delightful little pest that I came across while tapering along the Battle Tower. I'm sure it's no doubt documented on Smogon or Serebii's POTW bur nevertheless: ShuckleItem: Bright Powder Ability: Sturdy Level: 50 Moves:Double Team Power Trick Stone Edge Earthquake The idea is to build up a high level of evasiveness with the spamming of Double Team and when Shuckle's evasion can be raised no higher, use Power Trick to swap Shuckle's colossal Defence stat with it's paltry Attack stat and then harness the whopping 614 total (EV'd and IV'd and 100'd mind you). As Shuckle will be a pain to hit anymore, it won't be requiring a fancy defence stat. This falls apart to the never miss moves such as Swift and so on but it can no doubt punch a hole in some people's plans.

Interesting move set Joey, I always wondered if it was possible to weasel out of a quick death blow when Power Tricking. Poor Shuckle xD
The only Pokemon move set I ever memorized (mainly cause I used one and fought against tons) was the typical Weavile.
Weavile Item @ Focus Sash/Expert Belt Ability @ Pressure Moves: Ice Punch Night Slash Aerial Ace Brick Break
That's the atypical set I ran for Weavy... hit hard, hit fast! I don't think I need explain item choices... xD I actually used a bunch of different Pokemon with weird moves, but racking my brains brings me up short.
