Click. So it would seem this current series of the Pokemon anime is coming to an end due to the forth coming new Black and White games. Makes you wonder if they're going to do an anime reboot and stick someone else in or milk Ash for all he's worth... ...My money's on Ash returning. What have people thought about the current Pokemon anime series that's based off of generation IV?

Know what I think? They'll ditch Dawn. Just like how they ditched Misty and May. Then they'll replace them with the new baseball cap girl. And she will be a coordinator... or whatever they introduce new to the Black and White games. Or just simply a Pokeathalon contender. Could very well be since I don't think Lyra was one...
...and Brock? He'll be there. Might be gone for a bit, but he'll be back. He always returns. He always will. People can't get enough of him being all flirty with the girls and nurses. Same goes for Team Rocket, too. It will be a case of "same story, different place, new fuzzy critters."
...actually, everything in the Pokemon franchise follows that philosophy.

You know, for a change it would be quite nice seeing Ash partner up with the guy for a change but you're entirely right. They won't. Baseballcapgirl will be the new feminine member in Ash's little roving band of nincompoops and they'll have tons of fun encountering new experiences and friends in the world of B&W. Damn, it all feels so entrenched in this set pattern its become stagnant. I also dislike how Misty got booted off from their little team entirely. Having her dab Brock and Ash all the time was amusing to say the least. May I can't really speak for as I haven't watching anything with her in.

They are just following the whole philosophy of "if it isn't broken don't fix it." Besides most of the people that watch the anime, or at least the largest audience, is small children which are easily amused by pretty moving objects on the screen.
You also have to factor in, that their main target audience is small children. Seeing as people age, they can constantly recycle the same old stories. Although I do find it disappointing. I would love to see Ash die in some ditch.

We still think that the first season or two of Pokemon were the greatest, probably because of the nostalgia we get from watching it anymore. It is probably still just as cheesey as it is today, but we compare it to today in thinking "can we get new material at least?"
If we were still tiny little kids, we'd probably not even notice anything. Well, first generation Pokemon fans are growing up... but we seem to still stick with Pokemon anyway.

Outside of the Kanto and Johto anime I still think the manga is better. It is a lot more mature. As for the 5th gen anime I would love Ash to disappear but sadly he will not.

Speaking of the manga, i'm surprised no one has really made a topic about it. I've seen a couple of pages but it doesn't really entice me all that much. Sure its got mature content going for it but that's not the be all the end all for me. Then again, I don't like the happy duh lucky attitude of the anime. Guess I just like the neutral content of the game.

You know, for a change it would be quite nice seeing Ash partner up with the guy for a change but you're entirely right. It would be nice to see Ash admit he's gay. But again, there not going to get rid of him. They can bring back Misty, and I hope Brock gets killed by a girl that doesn't like him flirting with her. I'm so hoping they'll make the lead char the new Baseballcapgirl, and her sideckick the newboy. That would be a nice change!

I know an older member on here by the name of Autumnflower, who lives in Japan, mentioned something about Ash being fairly popular-ish with the younger Pokemon watching audience but I still fail to see what makes the production company decide to keep Ash in. He's boring, uninspired and quite simply pathetic. Are we missing something in translation? Because SOMETHING is amiss.

They will never get rid of Brock unless they add a new colored person because with how many people want to sue for racism issues these days it would make it impossible. Movies are getting in trouble for that kind of stuff now

I had a really weird dream tonight... I dreamed that ash got kicked out of the show, Max got his starter (a treecko) Misty got back, and together with the new guy, they went on a travel trough the new region.

you mean Tracey? he's with professor oak now, and he rarely gets a camo.
yea they really should. I really agree on that! Maybe after Dawn gets ditched, she and May could travel together, and they could make a show on that. and I hope the new girl is a Pokemon trainer, not a coördinator. Isn't that a bit sexism, to make all the girls coördinators? As if no girls would like to become a Pokemon trainer.

Misty guess what Misty was a trainer well kinda lol. Maybe Tracey could join Dawn and May and then we can get rid of the original anime all together and make side characters get a whole show lol and Tracey can be ditched when they ditch the new girl lol

Personally I hated Tracey, I'd much rather a show about Jimmy and Krys, or whatever her name was in the show. And Misty, as I recall they made the girls Coordinators so much because they didn't want Ash needing to fight them for being a champion. But with how much Ash dresses up you'd think that'd be his thing.
