Appearance:
Selenia has blonde hair and usually in a pony tail that is down to the middle of her back. Her nose is long and rounded at the end. There is almost always a smile on her thin lips. She is 5'11" with an athletic build in her arms and legs. She does have womanly curves with a slight belly. Her skin is fair and has bright blue eyes.
Even though she isn't a coordinator, she still have a flair for clothing. Currently she has on a blue and white short sleeve t-shirt. The white is on the top half with the blue being on the bottom looking like waves. Her pants are a mixture of blue and green swirls. When she gets cold, her jacket is a dark blue with a hood. She still enjoys the water so she carries a light green one piece swimsuit. She has a pair of tennis shoes for every day use and some sandals matching her swimsuit for the beach times. Somehow she is able to fit all of this into her brown back pack which she carries on her frequently. She wears a little bit of jewelry with clam shell stud earrings and a small necklace made up of seashells. The necklace sits around her collar bone. The blue jean backpack she carries has other similar items on it including small drift wood sewn on.
On her right leg is a three inch scar on top of her shin mid way down left from the accident and surgery to fix the break. She is still sensitive about the accident so she covers it up as much as she can. The only time it is noticeable is when she has her swimsuit on. If she wears shorts, she has a white shawl she puts around her legs partly to keep them warmer when the temperature drops but also to hide the scar.
Personality:
Selenia is full of life and bubbly. She always wants to enjoy life to the fullest. Some would say she is the center of the crowd even though she never tries to be. One of her gifts is to want make people happy. This was the deeper reason for her to become a coordinator. Sure, winning ribbons would be fun but if she can make people smile with her performance, than that was enough of a reward. There are times she would take a personal interest in someone who she thought was bumming out too much. This is how she got interested in talking to Antonius.
When she had her leg accident, it was her who needed to be cheered up. She fought her depression with the help of fellow coordinators and breeders. During the time of physical healing, she also healed emotionally allowing a good chunk of her bubbly personality back but with cautious reserve. She still wants to make people happy but by helping them out with their Pokemon. One day she may return to her coordinator dream but only after careful research and continual taking care of her body which includes daily exercises to keep in shape.
There are times where the memories of the accident and embarrassment overwhelms her. These times brings back the depression and only when she switches her thoughts to her family and Anton back in Kanto as well as the ones she left in Hoenn snaps her out of it. She knows Anton has moved onto Johto to start his own journey and the thought of reuniting with him brings her the biggest joy.
Another thought which troubles her but not to the point of depression is her switch of career. She has a basic understanding of breeding but she knows there is a lot more to learn and hopes to find a mentor or teacher. These thoughts brings her into more of a serious mood vs the bright peppy mood she had back in school and early Hoenn travels.
Selenia has always enjoyed the beauty of Pokemon even starting at a young age. She would go and watch the water shows in Cerulean City and even the gym fights when they were open to the public. She admires Misty the Cerulean gym leader. When she wasn't out she would watch most things Pokemon related especially any of the televised contests from Hoenn. She learned quite a bit by watching and reading what she could online. Her parents enjoyed taking her out to the water shows and other events since it was good family bonding but when she started getting interested in contests, they hesitated. When Selenia turned 10, they looked at the cost of all of the costumes and special training. It was too much for her parents so they decided against it even though she is their only child. This disappointed Selenia greatly. To distract Selenia, they offered to get her a poliwag.
By the time Selenia turned 14, she had taught the poliwag a few moves and tried to make them look pretty. The poliwag did decent at what Selenia wanted but still struggled. Her parents, realizing their daughter needed more formal teaching, decided to send her to a special academy. Selenia only agreed on the condition that if she graduates top of her class, she will be allowed to become a coordinator. Her parents reluctantly agreed to support her dream as long as she held up her end of the deal. Due to her parents' income and her own scores on the entrance exam, she got some financial aid in the form of scholarships.
Once there she worked hard in her classes. She also found time to enjoy herself with friends and finding someone who is talented at drawing costumes during her first year. When she isn't in class, she goes to the gym to work out. One of the stranger and yet important tips she had learned about coordinators is they need to be in great shape as well as the pokemon they are training.
There was one particular student who caught her eye in her second year. Part of it was because he sat alone in class and at lunch. She decided to brighten up his day by talking to him before and after class. He acted like he didn't want anything to do with her. She continued to talk to him even during lunch. He eventually opened up to her and told her his name was Anton Pyran. He learned to enjoy her company and they became friends. Unknown to Anton, Selenia developed a crush on him. It is difficult to find a guy as tall as her and a wild sense of attire. It didn't bother her that he had a thing for fire types. They even shared an interest in their respective gym type leaders. He also encouraged her to follow her dream to become a coordinator even if it meant of her leaving for Hoenn once she graduates assuming she gets top of her class.
Upon graduation, she became valedictorian and her parents honored her wish. They knew she been working hard and succeeding in school all four years so they saved up as much as they could and bought her a coordinator outfit as well as a ticket to Hoenn. Selenia made her way to Littleroot Town and received a mudkip from Professor Birch. This started her career as a coordinator in the Hoenn region. She made it to her first contest and did well enough to make it to the final round but didn't get the ribbon. This encouraged her to do better and create more maneuvers to match what her mudkip was doing. During one of her rehearsals, she slipped and broke her leg. This accident made her rethink about her career. She eventually gave up her dream. While she was recovering, some of her fellow coordinators tried their best to convince her to continue but also told her that sometimes it takes years to get the right combo of moves on particular Pokemon through breeding. The other benefit of breeding is often times the Pokemon can be specialized from birth to fit one of the categories better than the rest. Biggest thing is still proper training and nutrition through the use of berries and blocks. The idea of becoming a breeder which helps out coordinators appealed to her. As much as she enjoyed her short time in Hoenn, Selenia knew she had to start over in a different region where she wasn't known. She remembered her friend and crush Anton going to Johto. Once she decided to go there, she gave her mudkip back to Professor Birch for safe keeping. She didn't want to part with it but at same time bad memories would haunt her of the accident.
Goals: Selenia originally wanted to be a coordinator but after a bad leg break during one of her early shows, she had to take time off to heal and learned that through breeding some Pokemon can learn certain techniques which could be used to be better at the contests. Her heart is set on water type since her first Pokemon in Hoenn was a mudkip. She believes water type moves are the most beautiful and easiest to use in contests.
