Hageshii circled around overhead while Zaiden shuffled through the grass. The Bug Catching Contest had just begun and this time he wanted to see if he could find the absolute best bug out there to try and win the best prizes. Last time he had entered into the competition, Zaiden added a wonderful Butterfree onto his team. This time, he wanted to find something twice as impressive to show off to the judges and possibly see what the top prize was. He would accept lower leveled prizes, or just the Pokemon itself, of course. But sometimes, games and competitions were more fun if you played along and searched for the absolute best of the best to make a name for yourself. Right? They didn't get far before a swarm of beedrills arrived, one of them spotted Hageshii and left the group to get closer, only to wave its stingers challengingly at him.  Beedrill [lvl 12] want's to show you it is the best! Shiny: RKPL3zDe1-421-42 |

Zaiden perked up when he noticed the large yellow wasp with two thick black stripes across its abdomen fly over towards Hageshii. The young lad pulled out his Pokedex and pressed the button to listen to it tell him about this Pokemon with fixed interest. “Flies at high speed and attacks using its large venomous stingers on its forelegs and tail.” So the Pokemon was rather poisonous with its stingers? Zaiden paid close attention to the stingers that were fastened at the end of its two front legs and the large yellow stinger fixed to the end of its abdomen. Though Hageshii should have the advantage, so he should be able to handle the fight just fine on his own. “Hageshii, use Pursuit! Try to wear that Beedrill down!” He instructed as Hageshii flew off to chase after the challenging Beedrill in hot pursuit with a loud caw.
OOC: Hageshii uses Pursuit.

Used Pursuit! Hageshii definitely had the speed advantage. The bird dove in fast, easily dodging the Beedrill's initial attempts at catching him, and landed a good blow with his sharp beak. However, the wild pokemon didn't get to be evolved by happenstance. It quickly adapted to its opponent and managed to land a couple glancing blows before the sparkling spearow could make his way out of arms reach.

Zaiden watched as the Baeedrill attacked Hageshii and considered how strong the bug type Pokemon was. It would be a formidable opponent on his team – something that would be pretty useful in the right battles and with proper training. He pulled out a small Sports Ball that nearly doubled in size with the click of a button and tossed it at the yellow wasp. Zaiden crossed his fingers and his toes in quiet anticipation as he watched the spherical device soar through the air after the wild Pokemon. Oh, would he be so lucky as to catch this Pokemon in one shot, though? This was a gamble that he was willing to take to find out.
OOC: Zaiden uses Sports Ball.

Waited as the pokeball worked! The beedrill was a formidable foe, at least in these areas. It turned an eye as it registreret something moving and as in slowmotion it lowered its head and twisted its body, letting the ball soar past it and disappear into the grass behind it. It didn't even stop as it continued forward and slashed Hageshii wtih its stingers. Captured: yrTFuipX1-1001-100

The short mousy-brown haired teenager watched in anguish as the Sport Ball soared over the Beedrill with all the grace and none of the skill that he wanted. It landed with a soft thud deep in the grasses, gone forever. Come on! The young lad eyed his shiny bird worriedly with a soft frown. Last time, he had taken Kogasu and almost easily blazed through the bug Pokemon. Now, this first one was giving them a chase for all they were worth. Before Zaiden could instruct his Pokemon, the feathered friend flew after the Beedrill with a furious inner rage.

Zaiden took in a huge gulp of air and held it in his chest for a moment. He slowly released it as he worked on remaining calm given their tough opponent and rather challenging situation. A Beedrill would make an excellent addition to their team. Zaiden couldn’t deny that if he worked with the Beedrill and trained it properly, it wouldn’t be a good Pokemon to have along his journey. Could he find other Pokemon to help him win the prize? That was a high probability, and equally as high as this Beedrill winning him nothing more than a consolation prize, after all. Ya never knew what your competition was bringing to the table until it was time to face judgement, after all. Oh well, let’s try to add this guy one more time. “Hageshii, another Pursuit. Weaken him down and we’ll try to catch him again.”

Used Pursuit! The two exchanged once again. The bug was getting a feel for how the shiny bird moved, as became apparent when it made only the slightest move to mitigate damage from Hageshii in exchange for getting a good solid stinger right through his feathers. While the pair of needling poke themselves were nothing major, there was a fast burning substance that splintered its way through the spearow's body.

Alright, this wasp was beating up on his Pokemon something fierce. Zaiden really only had one good shot at this, so he had to make it count. The mousy brown haired teenager pulled out a small blue-and-white spherical device with two identical light-green stripes on either side of its small, white central button and two red dots dashed just above the button. He pressed the button in the center and tossed the Sport Ball up into the air as he sent it spiraling after the Poison Bee Pokemon with a powerful throw. Come on, please, Zaiden silently pleaded to himself, hoping to land the catch this time, Stay inside the Sports Ball.

Capture? ieImHFU11-100The wild wasp wasn't having any of Zaiden's interference. It could almost taste victory now and the ball soaring its way wasn't even going to slow it down. It seemed but a few seconds after the device was in the air that the beedrill was taking another furious series of stabs at the shiny bird. It was too much for Hageshii, and he fainted.
