Megan had hustled from Violet City to the Pokeathalon Dome when she had hard about a contest that required her to have he Zephyr badge which she had acquired just a few weeks ago. She really hoped she might be able to grow her team a little bit, even if they were bugs. She knew that a couple would come in handy down the road as she continued her trainers journey.
Taking Perdu into the dome as her partner for the contest he hovered around her shoulder, occasionally landing before taking off and hovering around her head in excitement he felt radiating off of his trainer.
With 15 Sports Ball given to her at registration in her bag, and hopefully 5 encounters to go she meandered into the tall grass hoping to come out of the contest with a few new team additions.

The tall grass tickles Megan's legs as she walked through it and she tried her hardest not to giggle. Glad she wore shorts because of the heat in the dome, but also trying her hardest not to be annoyed with the tickling. While she was distracted by the grass a little ball of yellow zipped around and Megan stopped, Perdu coming to rest on her head. It circled her a couple of times and then back to stop a little bit in front of her.
"Awwww, it's so cute!" she said as she pulled out her Pokedex from its location on her hip.
POKEDEX: Cutiefly, the Bee Fly Pokémon. A Bug and Fairy type. It feeds on the nectar and pollen of flowers. Because it's able to sense auras, it can identify which flowers are about to bloom.
"Well of course you would be named Cutiefly! Alright Perdu, let's do a little damage so I can get it into a sportsball here." Megan instructed, "A light tackle should do it."

The tiny fly unsurprisingly didn't have much that could help it against Perdu; except perhaps being an annoyingly small target. Perdu managed, though, slamming into the cutiefly just as it was trying to put up whatever defenses it could. The tiny thing went spiraling into the grass in a puff of yellow smoke. Or wait. That wasn't smoke. By the time that was realized Perdu would find the paralytic spores had already begun working on his muscles.

Perfect, Perdu's tackle was not so hard that the little bug fainted however it did still manage to initiate a stun spore. Megan trying to figure out the best way to handle this situation she grabbed a sportsball and tossed it at the little cutie. Before her hands dug around her bag looking for the Paralyze Heal just incase she needed it. Megan left it in her bad but knew where it was for later.
She watched Perdu's muscles twitch a bit. She hoped he could hold out for a little bit and would be okay.

The ball that landed on the ground startled a rather big caterpie which had been more or less invisible due to its green color. It backed up and reared to try look imposing. Yes! Captured! Megan went to pick up the Sportsball and put it on her belt and noticed a rather startled Caterpie glaring at her. "Oh, excuse me." She said picking up the orb and putting it away. "While we're here, Perdu gust."
Knowing that the stun spore had already taken some effect on Perdu but Megan hoped that the effects were no too severe. She came ill prepared and only had 1 paralyze heal in her bag.

Megan nodded and smiled as Perdu gave his best attack despite the previous stun spore and sent the little bug rolling along the ground. "Good job!" Megan praised after the Caterpie recovered and jumped as hard as it could landing a tackle into her birds chest feathers before falling back to the ground. Megan chuckled as she grabbed a second sportsball and tossed it at the work pokemon. "Spunk in that one, I like it." She mused to herself and Perdu as she watched the ball intently.

Caterpie couldn't put up much of a fight versus the well crafted sports ball. Oh! The sports ball that contained cutiefly chimed loudly before popping open and releasing the tiny bug inside. Cutiefly zipped away quickly into the grass. If caterpie is kept at the end of the BCC it will be added to Megan's PC.  As soon as the sportsball clicked with the Caterpie Megan heard the one on her hip containing the Cutiefly release and it zipped away, "Aw, shucks! I forgot about the one pokemon rule!" She cursed her bad luck having preferred the Cutiefly over the Caterpie but such is life sometimes. She bent over and picked up the ball containing the newly captured Caterpie. "Well maybe you'll end up being a good addition to the team. I still have 3 more encounters left." She spoke as she stuck the ball it to her hip to keep her hands free.
Perdu landed on her shoulder, as Megan walked and she could still feel his muscles twitch from the effects of the Cutiefly's Stun Spore but he seemed to be dealing with it alright still. Megan stopped and decided that finishing up this competition she should probably make sure her partner was taken care of and grabbed the Palayze Heal out of her bag and sprayed it along Perdu's feathery body. She could feel the avian relax and his muscles release.
Not wanting to litter she placed the empty canister back in her bag and started walking again. The team didn't get far before Megan noticed a pair of large red eyes in a flower bed. Megan looked to Perdu "Will you use a big Gust of wind and see what that is lurking in the flower bed please?" she asked.

Perdu flapped his wings hard and the flowers got whipped around and a few uprooted only to be smacked into the hiding purple pokemon with red eyes. It turned out to be a venonat who tried to cover in the harsh wind but the flowers gave no protection so instead it tried to stop the one behind it all, Perdu. A high pitched soundwave blasted at him and he had to stop his attack to focus on staying airborne since the world suddenly decided to turn upside down! In the flurry of battle activity Megan whipped out her Pokedex.
Pokedex: Venonat Its big eyes are actually clusters of tiny eyes. At night, its kind is drawn by light.
"Oh interesting," Megan mused to herself. She looked up just in time to see the little purple pokemon float up and around Perdu and hit it with a supersonic blasy confusting the avian a bit. "Perdu get in one more tackle attack."
Megan looked at her watch. She new that the contest was quickly coming to an end and she wanted to see what her last 2 encounters would bring her.

Perdu's world now chose to flip 90 degrees but his attempts to correct that just felt wrong and gave him a feeling of falling, so he ended up with just tilting his head to the left to try correct his vision. He managed to keep his target in sight and flapped forwards and more fell than tackled the venonat, but it worked all the same. The bug stumbled back and then stared at him, making him feel very vulnerably. Perdu shook his head and straightened up as the confusion finally left his brain. The ending chime sounded all throughout the park. The sudden startle gave Venonat an opportunity to flee.
