So I figure it's exam season for a good number of the members here and that would definitely include myself as I gear up my second year of university exams. At the moment i'm not feeling too bothered about them and i'm doing the odd bit of revision here and there but at the end of the day I just want them over and done with.
What sort of exam revision techniques do people do as well? I usually read a load of material the day before and so far it's been working for me. I argue that if you haven't already got some existing ideas floating around your head at that critical stage of leading up to the exams then it is of no use to bother trying to force yourself to learn something new.
Any funny exam stories either? I've not got many except the one time in GCSEs when my friend who sat in front of me kept falling asleep and doodling pictures on his paper and then shoving it up in the air for all to see. ;D

In my Key Stage 3 Science Exam (And Cammy's too) there was a Doctor Who themed question so I doodled a TARDIS on the side of the question after finishing the paper because the KS3s were sooooooooo fun. (They were so easy!) I think our school just givs us harder questions cause we're a Grammar School and thus better than everyone else

I take all my classes from home and I tend to keep up on everything pretty well... yeah, even while I'm here on the forum, I'm often times doing these kinds of things. No real funny stories on my side, unfortunately. Unless if you count the times I just happen to glance at the CBox every now and again to catch random tidbits of what you guys are talking about.

(They were so easy!) I think our school just givs us harder questions cause we're a Grammar School and thus better than everyone else Hahaha! If my old high school lot bumped into you Grammar School types there would be one huge fight that would ensue. Still, having a Doctor Who themed question IS pretty darned cool. You ought to get an extra mark for your artistic drawing of the TARDIS. That's pretty interesting. If I was taught from home I really do get the feeling i'd become far too distracted to do anything. Must be odd seeing the Cbox after some of us have add our far out conversations. On a side note, it would seem I have exams all throughout May. Super fun happy go lucky extraordinary miraculous go revision time!

Exams here are a highly amusing roulette of students trying to outsmart teachers and teachers trying to catch them in the act, if you know what I mean. Seriously, the only exams these buggers really care about are the mid-terms and finals. The monthly ones can more or less go to hell XDXD. I've seen all manners and forms of passing on information to conclude that some of these guys would probably make insanely good agents somewhere in the future. Everything from trading answers in the loo, stationary-tossing, sign language, morse code and the fine art of scribbling down notes in places unseen have been used in the past.
I was sitting through an exam at one point of time and was distracted by a shoe of all things which was being shuffled around quietly with answers.
That asides, we tend to have a habit of last-minute cramming, which for me at least throws my brain into complete overdrive and the stuff actually does remain fresh in my head. XDXD
One exam we DID run circles around during our school days as one of the upper class fellas was English. I swear, we gave the poor teacher a heart attack with the sheer length of our prose, of which we would have a bet on who would write the best and the most at each sitting. Good times....heheh....

Everything from trading answers in the loo, stationary-tossing, sign language, morse code and the fine art of scribbling down notes in places unseen have been used in the past. SERIOUSLY?! I suppose that sort of thing happened back in early high school but if that sort of thing were to happen now they would burn with the fury of a thousand suns. I always feel a bit awkward when you get these invigilators that slowly walk by you as if they suspect you of something. I just feel like yelling out: "I'M CLEAN, I'M CLEAN!" I was sitting through an exam at one point of time and was distracted by a shoe of all things which was being shuffled around quietly with answers. That's sounds hilarious surreal. ;D That asides, we tend to have a habit of last-minute cramming, which for me at least throws my brain into complete overdrive and the stuff actually does remain fresh in my head. XDXD Last minute cramming is SERIOUSLY the way to go. I am sure of it now. I was revising for an exam today and I looked over some topics on feminism and the growth of State power in the UK and i'm surprised how much I took on board. ...Which, coincidently, is my reason for not being around all that much yesterday. So far, two down and two to go. Least I have a week of respite now.

I agree. Although, I have an RE GCSE this year and I HAVE A TERRIBLE TEACHER. I now have to teach myself the entire course in....2 weeks. *****. I wish I had a good teacher! *cries* Or even one that teaches! He doesn't even teach!

You know, this is becoming a staple of RE teachers worldwide now, i'm sure. In my experience and from what i've heard of other people's tales they do diddly squat in terms of teaching. Zilch! The one I had in highschool used to get soooooo aggravated with my friend and he'd just lap it up. In fact, she seemed to have anger issues. I wish you all the luck with your GCSE though. I'm not sure how lenient RE exams are with answers but if its anything like history, as long as you can back up your thoughts on something or argue it clearly enough you should get enough marks for effort.

I'm all done with these accursed exams! *jumps with celebration to the moon* My last one was a bit annoying. I looked at the past exam papers and they were pretty much the same question for each and every single year. Maybe a comma or a word added into the questions, nothing too drastic. Anyways, I revise for a few questions and feel confident but I get there and... Instead of focusing on one sports history of commercialism it is now TWO. So that was a merry old song and dance to think of another. All in all... Glad to have that all behind me.
