So the date is ever approaching and i'm curious to see if any other UKers that inhabit this site (I KNOW YOU'RE OUT THERE) are keeping any tabs on the unfolding developments as well as if anyone is going to bother voting? Since i'm now legal to vote in the elections i'll definitely be taking the time out to do so. I've always seen the ability to vote as something important as our descendants fought for the right to be able to do. Even if it's just for that small reason I hope people do vote just to honour their memory. Today seemed pretty hilarious, I couldn't believe how quickly all the political parties jumped on board the volcanic ash incident as a means to shine their reputations a little more before the elections. ;D In a news report today it seemed they were all claiming to be the first to purport the idea of sending out the British Navy to rescue stranded Britons in nearby foreign countries. British politics at it's finest, ladies and gentlemen.

You should vote Obama. Even though he is the US president. xD
I should really type more here, but I don't keep track of UK politics.

Well, the NI Government is full of dicks so I'm not voting for any of them.
In terms of who should be PM of Britain. NICK CLEGG FTW! Aw! He's so adorable!
Go educate yourself!

I should really type more here, but I don't keep track of UK politics. The phrase "Politicians are full of excrement" is entirely applicable to the vast majority of UK politicians. I was speaking with Cam the other day about a certain Labour politician called David Milliband who is the greased weasel. Seriously, can't stand him. Unfortunate thing is, give it a decade or two and he'll be likely heading Labour politics. He has youth and no competition on his side for the position. Well, the NI Government is full of dicks so I'm not voting for any of them. In terms of who should be PM of Britain. NICK CLEGG FTW! Aw! He's so adorable! I heard a similar thing from my relatives in Scotland who think of the Scottish government as the same. In all honesty, I don't think there is truly one party or option that stands above all others. It's a really mixed bag and hung parliament is seeming more likely by the moment. Still, Nick Clegg made me laugh the other day, someone approached him for an interview on the train and he was eating a sack of KP nuts for lunch. ;D

I do in American politics. For some reason I find them much more important. o: That's when you break out photo shop, and spread fun pictures of him on the internet. Sure it's evil. But so is he. And I hate the vast majority of politicians I meet.

The problem with NI Parties is that it's all either NOPOPE! or NOQUEEN! as opposite to right/left wing.
I'm on the NOPOPE side of the spectrum but all the Unionist parties are just Tories and I finally found one that didn't care (which is alright) and they try to get rid of the Grammar Schools. Thus, I'm moving to England and voting for the Lib Dems.

When I was watching the BBC coverage of the elections I noticed there seemed to be some sort of change in NI politics? I'm not too sure as it was 4am when they were reporting it and I was fading into unconsciousness. That said, i'm amazed how engrossing the BBC's coverage on the elections had been. I'm not a highly politicised person but watching this seemed to spark something within me deep down. It must've done really. I mean, why else would I stay up till 5am when I had an exam four hours later? Two things which struck me this UK election. The first is how eerily accurate the exit poll was this time around (Give or take a few seats) and just how shambolic the state of some people not being able to vote is. It's truly disgusting that was allowed to happen. Britain's supposed to be setting an example to the infancy of democracy in Afghanistan and yet some conundrum like this occurs. I find it truly despicable. Also... So much for you Lib Dem voters. Seemed like everyone I spoke to was rooting for 'em. What happened, had a last minute change of party?

Yeah, our First Minster (Prime Minister in disguise) was voted out and replaced by a member of the Alliance Party.
Alliance are quite popular but, like, NEVER win seats so this is a HUGE and BRILLIANT deal since the Alliance are probably the least dickish party in these 'ere parts.

Well that IS something. I heard something about the First Minister being voted out on the grounds of something scandal involving his wife? Any idea what that was about? I'm all for political intrigue. ;D
Still, as it stands, it would seem Brown is an absolute miserable git behind closer doors. What with the bigot comment and telling Clegg to SHOVE IT. Glad he is on his way out. There was a REASON he stood in the background when New Labour was choosing between Blair and him.

I heard here in the US Obama had a cheating scandal as well. Just goes to show you cannot trust politicians to do their job instead they have to do things such as this.
