Organized Trade: Lei and Charlie

The strange looking meowth scratched its ear and its floppy ears waved silly at the moment. Lei made a face and sighed as she leaned back in the chair at the pokemon center. She looked around and there were still some who looked with interest at the meowth with strange ears, but other than a kid offering her his rattata and claimed to have a tauros, which clearly would have been his parent's, no one had come to offer anything for it.
A man came over and Lei turned on her polite smile and as she greeted him.
"What have you done with that poor meowth?" He asked accusingly and Lei's smile became very polite and rather stiff.
"Apparently I rescued the poor little bugger," Lei said with pretended worry, "It was in pain and captured to help it, how it has gotten ears and a tail like that, I have no idea."
The man smirked, "perhaps its a new form of eevee, a meowtheon?" He asked and roared of laughter, Lei joined in politely, having heard that several times today already.
"I'd say breeders are crazy these days, well! Good luck with it!" The man said with a grin and Lei couldn't hide her disappointment when he turned and walked away.

Lei put her elbow on the table and resten her head in her hand, "This isn't easy," she mumbled, "might be better to announce it online, it shouldn't be hard to find someone interested in it."
She looked at the meowtheon who jumped up on the bench on the other side of the table and curled up, easily hiding its whole face with its leafy tail. It looked a lot like a leafeon as it lay there.

Charlie didn't know what to do with their weird Stunky. It wasn't a Pokemon they were especially enthusiastic to use and that damned witch had said it needed a home, so they'd just... Taken it. Now they were stuck with something they were never going to use. And that made them feel a little bad, especially when it was trying its best.

So here they were, at the trade center, hoping someone would be willing to take it off their hands for something at least a little useful. The problem is, it was a rare Pokemon and pretty unique, if Charlie did say so themselves, so they wanted something interesting for it. Not the common Pidgey's and Rattata's they kept seeing offered.

And then their gaze fell on someone resting their head on a table with a... Leafeon? Well that was certainly useful, and definitely rare. They strode over to the table, Stunky waddling along behind them. They gave a gentle cough to get the lady's attention.

"Excuse me? Would you be willing to trade your Leafeon for my uh.. Stunky?" They thought for a second that it may have made more sense to try and pawn it off as a Rhyhorn, but if she noticed that it wasn't one before they could get the trade done with, then it would just cause more trouble.

Lei turned her head when someone coughed nearby but didn't lift it from her hand, she smiled briefly when it did turn out the one coughing didn't just hadn't swallowed a toad.
"It's not a leafeon I'm afraid," she said and pushed herself right as she turned her head to the 'leafeon' snoozing in front of her.
"Hey! Wake up!" She called out and the leafeon's very meowth-like head shot up to look around confused.
"As I said," Lei said as she gestured to it. When the young trainer didn't just leave right away, taking their stunky with them, a flash of hope was seen in her eyes.
"I don't really know what's going on with it, and neither is my pokedex. Most of the time it scans it as a meowth, but it keeps giving error messages. It definitely knows Razor Leaf," she explained, "Oh, no no no no!" She exclaimed as she jumped to her feet wagging a finger at the meowth, who had stood up and begun to swing its head around.

"Still interested?" Lei asked casually and glanced at Charlie, "you said something about a stunky?"

Charlie blinked at the strange Leafeon-Meowth hybrid. Well, that certainly wasn't expected. They chuckled lightly at Lei's explanation. "Ah, you must have encountered a 'witch', right?" Charlie pointed down at the Stunky by their feet, all dressed up like a Rhyhorn.

"I found this odd one. Uh, I'm also pretty sure it's a Stunky but I don't know what's going on with it either. I had to fight some weird ice penguin which melted into this thing. I think it wants to be a Rhyhorn?" Charlie sighed and crossed their arms. "I was asked to take it with me, so I did. Felt a little bad for the guy so... But if you're willing to trade still, I'd be happy to swap the weird witch Pokemon."

Lei paused and narrowed her eyes at Charlie, "how did you know?" she asked suspiciously and her eyes flickered to the stunky which she hadn't seen before. Her eyes widened in realization before they narrowed again, she kneeled down holding her pokedex towards it as she listened to Charlie had to tell.
"Hmm," she said when they were done, "it certainly registers as stunky but with the same weird error." She reached out and ignored the stomping and snorting, which sounded more like cute sneeze, it made to warn her, and tugged at some of the plates it had on its body. It wailed and threw its head around as if it tried to headbutt her and she quickly let go, "as stuck as the leaves on the other," she stood up again and looked interested at the stunky. She didn't answer the offer of trading.

"So you have been meeting this so called witch too, I can guess. Did you buy the pumpkin at the marked too? I know they promised a surprise with it but the illusion to make it look like a ponyta and then a leafeon before, well, this, is a bit far out in my opinion," Lei huffed a chuckle, "but some people are crazy about roleplay."
She looked at Charlie with a confident smile, "and if you really want to trade these two, this whole adventure will turn out pretty good for me honestly."
She looked down at the armored stunky who was rubbing its horn up against a table leg, scraping off small pieces, "it does really look like it tries to be a rhyhorn, as for the 'meowtheon'," Lei made quotation marks in the air, "I don't know what it tries to be, but I guess there might not be a big difference between Leafeon and meowth in the end."

A pokeball appeared in Lei's hand, and she threw and caught while sending Charlie a challenging stare, "so, do we have a deal?" She asked and held out her hand for them to shake.

"Oh yeah, yeah. I got a pumpkin, wasn't sure what to do with it at first so I just... Uh, shook it a bunch and it melted in my hands... Was a weird experience, that's for sure." Charlie watched Lei poke and prod the Stunky with a small smile, at least she seemed interested, and might actually use the poor thing. Charlie laughed at the Meowtheon name.

"Well that sounds adorable. I've certainly been looking for something like that, even if it is a little weird." They scratched under the Meowth's chin, as it purred into their hand. "It's definitely cute enough to convince me to keep it around."

Charlie matched Lei's challenging stare, and nodded, grabbing her hand to shake it. "Yeah, we have a deal!" They grabbed the Stunky's Pokeball, from their bag, to hand it over to the other trainer. "Thank you, though. I wasn't sure I'd find someone to take the Stunky. I'm also kinda glad I wasn't the only one with a weird witch experience... so. It was nice to meet you, even if it's only been a few minutes."

"Melted?! That sounds disgusting!" Lei exclaimed wrinkling her nose, "I ended up smashing mine against a tree to try break it open, and then smoke billowed out. To be honest, if you hadn't said that you have had a similar experience I would probably have ended up deciding the whole ordeal was broken because I destroyed the pumpkin like that"

Lei shrugged when Charlie said the mewotheon had a cute name, "if you say so." To her it was nothing more than a weird looking boring meowth and she would probably have been happy for it, if she hadn't thought she had gotten a ponyta at first. Now it was just utterly disappointing as it reminded her all the time, what she could have gotten instead, but got stuck with this one. She had thought it had been easier to find a buyer for it, but now she at least got something worth wile out of it.

The tall female trainer smirked when she grabbed Charlie's hand with a firm grip, they would have the meowth's pokeball in their hand the moment they let go and she readily accepted the stunky's.
"No need to thank me, we are not on the same level so it is for the best, I did take it to find it another home and it seems to have taken a liking to you already," Lei said politely. The meowth had certainly not purred anywhere near her, but of course, the only time she had touch it was to check if the leaves was really a part of it.
The stunky was promptly recalled, no sweet introduction there.
"The pleasure was all mine," Lei said honestly, "I wonder how many this so called witch has approached with this dire situation only the trainer she meets can solve, hm? Good luck with the meowth, don't hesitate contacting me, if you have something else you need to find a home for. Who knows, I might be interested. The name is Leilani Keoloha," Lei said with a chuckle and would bit Charlie farewell before she left the pokemon center now she had accomplished what she had came for.
