"Tea Zing" Apothecary

A small ramshackle tea stall lies on the side of the road between two beautifully crafted stone posts. It looks like someone has set up shop in an abandoned lot. Past the stall lies a derelict house. It has the words “Tea Factory” spray painted on one of the boarded up windows. Rumors are that strange noises can be heard coming from the house at night. Behind the derelict house is a sprawling forest with wild growth in all directions, and a pleasant smell fills the air aromatically as the wind blows through the trees.

Current Status: Open but response times may vary!
Recommended to use pokemon which you are not planning on using in your other roleplays in case responses are slow.

Public Area Guide

The wild areas around "Tea Zing" Apothecary are not to be trifled with unless you are well prepared! If you wish to explore these areas, put [Exploration] at the end of your thread title! Please make that you read and understand the special rules before posting in this estate! If you have any questions, PM me!

Special Rules:

1. Pokémon do not heal between battles.
2. Captured pokemon are healed to full health when caught.
3. Must battle 6 pokémon in each area, with at least 1 battle in each sub-area, to progress to the next area.
4. If you battle a trainer, your party will be fully healed after the battle concludes.
5. You must use Estate Items while in the estate to catch or heal your pokémon. Other items will not work.

• These items are available in your first post for purchase, and in role-play as the situation arises.
• These items are only used in this estate
  
• You can leave to restock at any time to change/heal your party, but you must return to the starting point of my estate if you wish to continue your journey.

To reiterate: The only type of ball which will allow you to capture pokémon in this estate are Estate Balls.

Progression:

In your first post in your Exploration thread, you are expected to list the party you are bringing with you. You may also make purchases from Sara's Ramshackle Tea Stall in your first post if you would like to jump straight into encounters. If you forget to do this, I will ask to confirm that you wish to buy nothing, or request that you state the full party which you are bringing with you into the estate. Note that excluding held items, the the only items you may use in your Exploration thread are items purchased from the estate store! Your inventory in the Estate will be tracked in a follow up post on the store page. 

Unless you earned a special reward from the Boss Pokémon of an area allowing you to start in a different area, you must start your journey in Area 1: The Aromatic Wilds.

Encounter Level: +2/+1/+0/-1 the average level of your party, in the order they appear in battle against you.
Encounter odds: 1/16
With each encounter you face, the odds of encountering these Boss type pokemon increases, the divisor being lowered by 1 each time. (i.e. after 4 battles, the odds of encountering this pokemon are 1/12)  This caps out at 1/3 chance of encountering the boss pokémon's party. Once you defeat the boss, you will no longer have a chance to encounter the boss pokemon. If you return to the start of the estate, the odds of encountering the boss pokemon will reset.
Note: These four pokémon are uncatchable, and mechanically function the same as a trainer encounter.

From the moment you enter the Aromatic Wilds, you are keenly aware that you are a visitor, and more than that... A trespasser. As you go about your adventure, you can tell the pokemon here are watching you carefully, considering your moves as you traverse through the woods. Occasionally they let out loud calls, which coincide with you making drastic changes in the direction you are travelling. After a while you may suspect that it is more than a coincidence. All four of these pokémon work as a team to defeat you. A team that would rather you not be in their territory.

*This special estate item allows you to pass through the Aromatic Wilds without needing to face an encounter (I.E. You can skip the Aromatic Wilds and automatically progress to the Spice Caves. This will allow you to heal and travel to the Spice Caves without battling 6 pokemon in the Aromatic Wilds.)

The Piquant Updraft

Along the edge of the Aromatic Wilds, an unusual and liminal wind pattern occurs. The regular smell of the outside is replaced by an eerily constant gust of wind, known as the Piquant Updraft.  The smells of the world seem to deflect off of the decadent smells that lie just beyond the borders of the Aromatic Wilds, resulting in a truly strange weather pattern. Occasionally, pokémon with a particularly keen sense of smell, or birds with particularly good eyesight find themselves drawn towards the edge of the wilds, though they are almost always chased out of the deeper woods by the intensely territorial pokémon who have made the Aromatic Wilds their home. The edge of the wilds is still an incredibly verdant place, with a variety of berry bushes, though all the berries are quite small, and many of the bushes have been picked over by opportunistic pokémon.

Once you get through the Piquant Updraft, and through an unnaturally straight barrier of thick trees and berry bushes, the woods thicken, and seem to close in around you. Shrubs and other plants grow close to each other, and high-canopied trees reach up to the sky. Nostalgia strikes your sense of smell as whiffs of your favorite childhood desserts and indulgent foods grace your nostrils, each inhale bringing in a new flavor. All around you is the sound of pokémon activity, and evidence of territorial battles are all around you with many patches of foliage being clearly disturbed and battle worn.

Area 2: The Spice Caves

Ginseng Tunnels
"These glowing tunnels are beautiful, but watch your step or you'll trip on the roots!"

The Ginseng Tunnels are named for the sharply flavored roots which grow wildly in the tunnels, twisting upwardly into ankle-breaking loops which could catch the haphazard hiker unawares. Along the walls of these tunnels are a rare species of glowing fungus which illuminate their surroundings with strange icy-blue hues. The cave system smells strongly of ginseng, though there are definitely hints of other spices as well. The tunnels wind and intersect with other tunnels, some even having manmade mine-cart tracks running through the length of them. Rumors are at some point, this area was thought to be filled with gold, but the effort spent digging out these caves made for perfect ginseng root habitat. Various types of pokemon have also found ways to make these tunnels their home, many of them favoring ambush tactics and manipulating the soft dirt surrounding the tunnels to make cave-ins.

Cinnamon Caverns
"They say the dirt in this cave is pure cinnamon. Try eating a spoonfull!"

The Ginseng Tunnels eventually open up into dry, dusty caverns. The smell of cinnamon fills the air, and the dirt which you walk on has the quality of finely ground cinnamon. The stalagmites and stalactites stretch from the top of the caverns to the bottom, and pools of thick molasses-like substance are scattered throughout. Some say that the common potion found in a pokémart is derived from a chemical compound discovered in this very cavern... Others know better than to let that knowledge out, because treasure hunters have been known to scour areas like these in search of treasures.

RESIDENTS:

Sara Flora Zeus
Description: The CEO of Tea Zing, an industrious individual hell bent on making a profit and making people drink their tea. They look a little worse for wear, and are frequently seen wearing the same clothes multiple days in a row. A strange odor fills whatever room they enter, which is why it’s usually best to visit their tea-stall outside their property if you want to purchase something from them! They are rarely around, but updates of their adventures are hung on a small message board in the form of postcards. There are rumors that Sara can be found around the compound, though people who know Sara can tell something is just... off about her.

Adriana Flora
Description: The CEO’s mother, who is usually seen tending to the tea stall. She is friendly and charismatic, and well put together. She is in her mid 50's and has long gray hair. She is usually wearing a floral print dress with a few extra layers on to keep her warm, even when the temperature is well into the 80's and 90's. She maintains the tea-stall when Sara is away, and works very hard in her daughter’s stead. She makes sure that the tea stall is well maintained, and has a small shed on the property where she lives.

Casper Zeus
Description: The CEO's father, who visits every once and a while. They are a frequent visitor to the residence, and can often be seen trying to fix and maintain various aspects of the site. They are tall and chubby, and in their early 50's. Casper has a tool-belt full of various tools and gear, as well as 3 dinged up pokeballs, which look like they have seen a lot of traveling. While not a pokemon trainer, he does enjoy a challenge every once and a while, and will gladly stop his work to give his pokemon a bit of exercise.

Felicia Gray
Description: An old friend of the CEO's from the Alola region. She has light tan skin and short green hair, and is often seen wearing hiking gear. She often ventures into the woods behind the house in search of aromatic flavors or pokemon, and can be out in the field for days before coming back. She loves the accomplishment of a job well done, and will work hard to complete tasks she has been assigned. Despite working at a tea shop, she can often be seen with a coffee cup in hand, and smells like espresso beans. She has recently developed a love for pokemon battles, and will challenge people if she thinks she can win. Since she doesn't have a large party of pokemon, she will often opt for one on one battles, insisting on a "2/3" battle, which means if either trainer knocks out two of the other trainer's pokemon, they will be the winner.
