Aphrodite was a little bit disappointed with herself and her Pokemon during their first assignment as a member of the Internation Police Force. The golden-haired female and her Pokemon had managed to defeat and capture the culprit for the most part, but her team of Pokemon was a little too hasty at times, which could have caused them some unnecessary trouble in the long run. Luckily for Aphrodite and her team, there were able to walk away with little damage. Since the day of her first assignment, Aphrodite engaged in some specialized training to help her bond better with her inexperienced team and to reinforce some of the skills that were taught to them at the beginning of her career as a police officer.
Today is the day that Aphrodite and her team would take on their second assignment and be honest, Aphrodite was both a little nervous, yet excited to take on her next task with her Pokemon. She felt somewhat more confident than the last time, but at the same time she could not help, but doubt herself just a bit due to some added pressure that she has put on herself. She wants nothing more than to succeed and make her division proud.
Aphrodite and her Snubbull, Archie, maneuvered through the rather large crowd of workers in order to move a little bit closer towards the entrance. The gorgeous police officer could feel some wondering eyes focused on her, but she did not pay them too much attention. Perhaps, they enjoyed seeing an attractive woman in a uniform, or maybe they were simply underestimating her and her ability to solve such a task because of her non-threatening appearance. Either way, she is not there to entertain them.
Aphrodite and Archie would continue to stand at the entrance of the cave, waiting for the Foreman to finish up his conversation with another worker before walking over towards them to give them the details of the case. "We're going to focus on being more patient and careful this time Archie. We're really going to have to stop and think before reacting," Aphrodite informed Archie before turning her attention towards the Foreman walking towards them.

The operation to build a safe passage from one side of the mountain to the other by way of a tunnel had been a tedious one from the start. Foreman Blake and his team had taken every precaution that they could to ensure the safety of their crew, along with the safety of the wild Pokemon that called the area home, whilst they constructed the tunnels through the area. Though, a group of environmentalist had seemingly made their jobs very difficult for them from the start, causing havoc wherever they could by destroying their machines and diverting many of the wild Pokemon around the area into the tunnels and causing the crew to have to stop their operations to deal with the unruly wildlife.
When Aphrodite appeared on the scene, Blake sighed in relief. He had called the police force to try to get help with the environmentalist, though today they seemed as though they were missing in action. Blake had tried to see if they were lurking around the jobsite, planning on making their work even more difficult or jeopardizing the livelihood of his team members by sabotaging his work through the tunnels. He couldn’t spot them anywhere, try as he might on his own. Everyone had been vetted on the site that he knew personally, and the new members were all still so inexperienced or learning that it was hard to discern each person apart from the other. “Good evening, miss! I’m Foreman Blake. I take it you’re the police officer they sent to help us with our…environmentalist problem?” Blake asked, and waited for Aphrodite to answer his question and possibly fill him in on any expectations she may also have or questions she may want to ask.
“So, normally they protest our operations. And we ain’t got a lick of problem with them protesting, so long as it’s peaceful, right? But lately, they’ve been scaring wild Pokemon into our digsite and trying to destroy our equipments and such…well, we just can’t have that. I’m sure you understand, right? That’s why we called. I haven’t seen them today, but I got a funny feeling. Like they’re around…somewhere? To top it all off, I gots these new guys on my crew and it seems like I’ve got more new men than expected. So long as they’re all here to work hard, and do their job right, I guess we’ll be alright. Mind helping me by verifying the new faces we’ve got on our site? I’d really appreciate it if we can make sure that everyone whose here to work is working for the right reasons, ya know?”
Then, Blake would walk around the area to introduce Aphrodite to the new members on their team. He walked over to two grunts and motioned in their direction. “Over here we have – oh, for Pete’s sake, Dave!” Blake would leave Aphrodite’s side and march over to a young man with thick rimmed glasses and a white baseball cap turned backwards on his head. He tapped the man on his shoulders and gestured towards the heavy machine equipment. “Dave, you know you’re not supposed to be near the machinery or active parts of excavation! Get back to your station!” Dave pulled out a small metallic coin and began flipping it in his hands as he scowled, walking back to his given station. “Pfft, yeah yeah! Whatever. I could do my job just fine if you actually taught us anything! Look at all this damage you’re causin’ by being a bad foreman!” He snapped with a really grumpy attitude. “Might as well quit while you’re ahead, old man!” Blake growled and clenched his hand at his side. “One more word outta you and I’m sending you back home! You wanna help? Do what you’re asked to do, not what you can’t seem to do right!”
Then, Foreman Blake would turn and walk over to Worker Colin and introduce him to Aphrodite. “This is Colin. He works hard, stays focused, and prefers to be left alone when he works. He seems a little too worried about safety, if you ask me…” The young man donned in a green work suit and a hard hat jumped up and turned around to Blake and Aphrodite. “No offense…” He began with a serious expression on his face, “But I can’t work with all this noise. Mind…goin’ elsewhere?” He grumbled and motioned them away.
Blake would then lead Aphrodite over to his machine operators and introduce them each to her. He pointed to Scott, who seemed to be in a deep conversation with a few of the veteran machine operators. “So I said to the guy, ‘listen! We all wanna go home, right? So why don’t ya ask the more seasoned employees what to do, cuz you’re makin’ a mess everywhere! And look, that means’ we gotta stay overtime, ya blithering nincompoop!’ Which, normally I love overtime but not to clean up someone else’s mess, ya know?! Jeez!” He waved his hands around as he operated his equipment, as if to allude and highlight different parts of his story. Blake shrugged his head and rubbed his temples with his hands. “That guy could talk you into your grave, I swear…” Blake commented under his breath.
“And this here is Jeff..” He pointed out another machine operator who seemed to have a deep scowl sprawled across his face. As soon he spotted Blake, Jeff jumped off his equipment and rushed over to the Foreman with his arms crossed over his chest. “Blake, when am I going to get my promotion or a raise, huh?! I’ve worked twice as hard as half these idiots here, and still nothing! One of these days, a better company’s gunna snap me up for twice the pay!” He huffed and puffed angrily. Blake growled underneath his breath and shrugged. “Jeff, remember the plan we worked out for your promotion? You’re not sticking to the plan at all – always making things difficult to work with you. If you wanna lead people, you’ve gotta demonstrate that you’re a leader first!” Blake snapped and waved him back to his station.
“And over here we have our engineers. That’s Conrad, Quentin, and Dexter.” Blake pointed to each of them in turn. As Conrad was working on some of the electrical components for the tunnels, he kept dropping different pieces of equipment and having to fish them off of the ground. He would also seem to fiddle with his leveler several times, making adjustments as though he were having a hard time steadying it. Quentin was noticeable from the start, though only because of his boisterous personality. “And did you know that a Miniature Circuit Breaker, a safety device designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by an overcurrent or short circuit, was invented by Esslingen Machine Factory. Now, this was preceded by an initiative in Wurttemberg to create a railway industry…” He seemed to carry on and on as he worked. Dexter, however, seemed to keep to himself and shrugged away his team mates. When Conrad walked over to him and asked him where some specific wires were located, the other member turned and scowled at him. “I don’t know, Conrad, why don’t you go do your job!” He snapped, tapping his feet and hands impatiently against the rocky wall. “I’m trying to focus over here, can’t ya see that?!”
