Following their previous encounter with a wild Butterfree, it seemed that the venomous duo were now face to face with Butterfree's toxic counterpart. The Poison Bee Pokemon, Beedrill. And upon seeing another Poison type Pokemon, some big sparkles appeared in Venom's eyes, as he found himself unable to look away from the Beedrill or contain his excitement. "Wow! A Beedrill! Look at you! What a splendid Poison type you are! So cool!" As Venom did this, Salandit couldn't help giggling a bit, remembering that her trainer had a weakness for all things poisonous.
Still, remembering the task at hand, Venom was able to refocus himself before the Beedrill decided to try stinging him. After putting his game face back on, Venom gave Salandit her first, and hopefully, only command of this battle. "A Poison type for a Poison type. This one should be easy for us. Salandit, hit Beedrill with a double dose of your Dragon Rage attack!" Salandit put her own game face on, jumped off her master's shoulder, and gazed up at her buzzing foe. "As you wish, master! You're not the Pokemon we want, so get lost, buzzkill!" After making a little joke, Salandit let loose with a torrent a dragonic flames, sending them all flying at the wild Beedrill.

VICTORY!
Perhaps a little flattered by the admiration presented, Beedrill took the first part of the battle to gloat. It's compound eyes flashed into a laser focus. Though in aftermath of a set of dragon's fire it decided that maybe it would take what it got and find someone else to beat up.  Salandit gained 800XP and grew to Lv 27! (343/2269) |

After watching the defeat Beedrill fly off, Salandit once again took her place on Venom's right shoulder, and Venom turned to face the grassy field that laid before them, letting out a small sigh. "Three down, and only two left. I'm glad to see that you're growing stronger, Salandit, but our mission here is still incomplete. And now, the odds are against us." Salandit listened to her master's words, then smiled as she offered him some encouragement. "Yeah, maybe, but that means there's still hope, right? Even if we only had one chance left, I know you'd still take it, master." The Toxic Lizard Pokemon's words made Venom smile too, as he gave her a confirming nod. "You're right about that, Salandit. So, let's keep looking. There has to be at least one Shelmet in this field somewhere." With that, the Poison type trainer knelt down in the grass one more, and the two continued their search for the Snail Pokemon they came for.

Though the ninja would crouch down in the tall grasses in search of a specific Pokemon, an entirely different Pokemon would come flying from the treetops after him instead. It seemed pretty friendly as first, and instead hovered around the ninja as all three faces smiled blissfully. Occasionally, it would spin around in the air, waiting to see what Venom would do. A Wild Combee appeared!  Level 19. #4 Encounter. What will Venominon do? Shiny: rqeqdQjT1-42

At this point in the contest, Venom was really starting to have some doubts that he and Salandit would be able to locate the Snail Pokemon they had come to find. And those doubts only grew when a wild Combee flew down to meet the poisonous pair, causing Venom to let out a sigh. "Seems luck isn't on our side this time, Salandit. Just use Dragon Rage twice and let's move on, okay?" Salandit let out a sigh of her own as she climbed off of Venom's shoulder yet again, facing her next opponent of the contest. "Sure thing, master. Another buzzkill I must remove from our path." The Toxic Lizard Pokemon took a single deep breath, then repeated her actions from her previous few battles of the contest, sending a torrent of dragonic flames flying at the wild Combee.

While winning a battle normally made trainers and their Pokemon feel a sense of pride and accomplishment, winning this battle just made Venom and Salandit feel a sense of disappointment. As they watched the wild Combee fly off and leave them, the poisonous pair let out a pair of sighs. "Well, looks like this is our last chance, master." Salandit was the first to speak up, climbing back onto Venom's shoulder as she did. "Yes, and the odds of us finding a Shelmet at this point are slim to none I'm afraid. However, a Shelmet was the last Pokemon I found during the last bug catching contest that I participated in."
"So, even though it's very unlikely, it is still possible for us to find one. All we can do is keep going and hope for the best." At this point, the ninja decided to forego the stealthy approach, and simply took a deep breath before speeding off through the tall grass on his own two feet. As he ran, Salandit held on tightly to his shoulder, as the two looked all around, hoping to spot the Snail Pokemon they had been seeking since the contest began. Truth be told, Venom didn't even care about winning or losing the contest. Winning would still be nice, but his one and only goal here was to find and capture a Shelmet for one of his few human friends. Shinya Stinger.

Sadly, luck was not on their side this time, as Venom and Salandit eyed their final encounter of the contest. Venom was so disappointed that he didn't even have it in him to go into Poison type fanboy mode. "Oh well. Better luck next time, I guess. Same deal as the last two encounters, master?" Salandit asked her trainer, then jumped down off his shoulder and faced her final opponent of the contest. After letting out a heavy sigh, Venom nodded, giving the Toxic Lizard Pokemon his answer. "Yes. Use your Dragon Rage twice, Salandit. Let's just end this and continue with our adventure." Having received the confirmation she needed, Salandit breathed her dragonic flames in the wild Kakuna's direction, knowing that this would bring this bug catching contest to an end for the two of them.
