From the Deep in the Night it Comes... [Boss Battle]

Lei shielded her head as the huge white legendary flew past her and attacked some other pokemon, with.. rock smash perhaps? It looked strange as the pokemon just slammed its arm like fins down onto its foe. There was no doubt it was powerful as the sand flew and the attacked pokemon was pushing into the sand, or so it looked like from where she stood. The second attempt from the lugia seemed to miss as the black dog leaped out of the way at the last second.
Lei would have expected some more impressive attacks though, than what it had showed until now, but she didn't complain at all. It just gave them a bigger chance although it was worrying that it suddenly went for other than what looked to be the strongest. That put her own pokemon in bigger risk.
"Minvera, Acid spray!" Lei called her order and watched as her stunkhorn trotted confidently forward with her eyes glued to the legendary pokemon. She wasn't that fast with her small legs, and she had to turn and try to catch up several times as the lugia raced around the beach whirling up sand and attacking. Finally she got close enough to try her luck with her acid and she raised her tail high.

The strikes on the other Pokemon were making Kelsi uneasy, and Copper too if the Skwovet's glances back towards her were anything to go by. Lugia was so big and Copper so small... a blow like that could possibly knock Copper out in one strike. But there was no backing down, not now, and neither Kelsi or her Pokemon were ones to retreat just because a battle was becoming a little tense... well, a lot tense, but still. 

"Easy, Copper," Kelsi called to her Skwovet as Copper seemed to try and prepare for another attack. "Go for a Tail Whip again this time. We need to let the stronger Pokemon get their chance. They'll do a lot more damage if you back them up."

Copper nodded, waving his tail at the Lugia again. Both Pokemon and trainer were silently praying that the Lugia didn't decide to target Copper next.

Lugia's Pressure continued to weigh heavily on the ninja and his Pokemon, and the heavy wind that blew every time the legendary Pokemon flapped its massive wings definitely wasn't helping. Still, neither Venom nor Nidoking were even close to backing down. The two of them dug in their heels and stayed strong, not wanting to be outdone by the other trainers and Pokemon that were present on the beach. "Is that all you've got?! You're gonna have to do better than that if you wanna scare me!" Nidoking couldn't resist the urge to egg the legendary Pokemon on, his battle-hungry grin present on his face as he did.

Venom tried to share in his Pokemon's bravery but was unable to shake his worries off completely. Even so, that didn't mean that he wouldn't still give it his all. "This battle is ours! Nidoking, hit Lugia hard with your Megahorn!" Venom pointed towards Lugia as he called out his order, knowing that Nidoking's Megahorn was the strongest move in Team Toxic's arsenal at the moment. It may not be super effective against Lugia, but Venom still knew that it would deal some major damage, nonetheless. "Leave it to me, master! Take this, you oversized Pidgey!" After filling his horn with massive amounts of Bug type energy, the Drill Pokemon charged full speed at Lugia, driving his Megahorn right into the Diving Pokemon's gut.

As Shocker continued to take residual Whirlpool damage Marchbaby did not have many good options to help the poor Magnezone out of it's unfortunate position. Despite there being no way to prevent the damage from sapping Shocker's health he could still keep on ordering the Magnezone to stay on the offensive as that had worked fairly well so far." Shocker try and keep battling through the pain. You are doing great so far. Use Flash Cannon on Lugia this time." The Magnezone then started to build up power as it got ready to strike again.

There was a commotion occurring at the beach. Trixie groggily dragged herself out of bed and almost ran face-first into Shade. "Let's go see what's going on..." she muttered, the nocturnal Pokemon glad to lead the way.

"Sweet mother of Mew..." Her eyes widened and her mouth hung agape as she saw what the trainers were fighting; a massive bird in the sky! "Shade, get in there and help out! Use Night Shade!" The Shuppet's eyes glowed as he executed the attack of his namesake, attempting to blast the bird with ghostly energy.

The battle swayed back and forth and it looked like most of the trainers where either too far away or too caught up with the battle to really listen to what others said around it. It was a shame, since it would have helped if they had been able to talk to each other and make a plan. She ducked as the lugia rushed just above her and the winds from its flying almost pulled her off her feet. She looked after it worriedly, they could not fail this! A plan was probably going to be hard to make while being under this pressure.
Lugia's tail hit the beach and it whipped up several big rocks which flew through the air and Lei ran and stumbled when the ground shook from the attack hitting back down. She looked around wildly, it looked like the only one who had been hit had been the big nidoking, who pushed the rock aside. It seemed like it had missed everyone else. She sighed relieved and scouted the area, just to see Minerva raise her tail as Lugia soared past her. If she hit or not was impossible to say from this distance.
"Minerva! Smokescreen!" Lei screamed at the top of her lungs in the hope that her pokemon heard her. She was not going to be smashed below a boulder, not if she had anything to say about it.

Hinoina growled as her ears folded against her skull. Though she leaped and tried to bite down on the wild legendary Pokemon, it would simply give a mighty slap of one of its wings on the air as it hovered above the crowd and roared. The wind alone was strong enough to catch Hinoina in mid-air and flip her backwards as it knocked it away. She rolled around and licked herself, checking to make sure that there were no lasting damages, before spinning back around. This was becoming personal quickly. “We’ve caused you no harm. Stand down while you still have a chance!” She barked and growled at the top of her lungs.

Meanwhile, Mishu flipped around groggily as the commotion managed to finally stir her awake. She rubbed her eyes and shook herself as she crawled out of her sleeping bag. “What on earth is going on now?” She huffed as she reached for the zipper to her tent. Her eyes widened with worry when she noticed that the tent had already been unzipped and immediately Mishu rushed out hopping on each foot as she slipped on her shoes. “Mother of….Hinoina, what are you doing?!” She exclaimed and tossed her hands up into her air, gripping her long strands with her fingers anxiously.

Hinoina turned to her trainer for a split second, before spinning back around. Now was no time for pleasantries. Clearly, their camp was being ambushed by a kaiju and all hands were needed to help fend it off. She pulled her lips back in a vicious snarl before kicking off the ground with her feet. Hinoina would rush forward once more, hoping to clamp down on some part of this colossal titan and do as much damage as she possibly could. They needed her help after all!

Even though it wasn't very effective, Nidoking definitely felt it when Lugia's Ancient Power struck him. The Drill Pokemon stumbled backwards several feet, but he was able to maintain his balance and still had plenty of fight left in him. "Sure enough, that hurts. So, this is the power of a legendary Pokemon. I like it." Nidoking regained his grin, already eagerly awaiting the next round. At this point, Venom could see that he and the rest of the trainers and Pokemon were making some progress, which did help to lift his spirits a bit. However, the ninja could also see that this battle was still far from over, noticing the buff to all of its stats that Lugia gained from Ancient Power.

Not only that, but thanks to Lugia's Pressure, it was impossible for Nidoking to use his best move a second time in a row. Still, Venom decided not to switch him out just yet, seeing that he was enjoying himself, despite the rather dire circumstances. "Don't get too cocky, Nidoking! That last attack wasn't very effective, but the next one might be! Megahorn is out for now, so use your Horn Attack this time!" Of course, Venom knew that Horn Attack wouldn't deal nearly as much damage to the Diving Pokemon, but if Nidoking could hold out for just one more round, they'd be able to use Megahorn again. "Alright! Here's another one for ya, Lugia!" With his horn shinning in the darkness of the night, Nidoking charged at Lugia once more, aiming for the exact same spot he struck the Psychic/Flying type in before.

As Shocker managed to dodge the incoming Ancientpower while still being trapped in the vortex Marchbaby knew he had to keep attacking to take advantage of the situation." Shocker great job dodging that, before Lugia can recover from that miss it is time to attack yet again. Use your Thunderbolt and give it everything you got." He then waited hoping that continuing to be aggressive would not come back to haunt him anytime soon. Shocker had done great so far but this battle was far from over.

Trixie ducked reflexively as rocks went flying past the Magnezone and crashed into the distance. She tried to call for another Night Shade, but the Shuppet's eyes went dark as he attempted the attack - the aura being given off by the formidable opposing Pokemon was too overwhelming to his senses, and he shook himself about as he tried to regain his senses. "Okay, plan B..." As loud as she could, Trixie called out to the trainers that were gathered for the battle. "Cover your ears, everyone! Shade, use your Screech attack!" Now that was something the ghost could focus on, using his vocal cords instead of his eyes. He let out an ear-piercing scream at the Lugia - hopefully the others heard Trixie's warning!

Unfortunately, Nidoking's Horn Attack didn't do very much damage to Lugia, but Venom never expected it to. The ninja's battle plan may not have been perfect, but that's why he was grateful to have other trainers and Pokemon there to help pick up the slack. And thanks to all their combined efforts, Lugia's HP was very close to the halfway point. However, Venom also made sure to keep in mind that the lower Lugia's HP got, the harder the Diving Pokemon would fight back. Frankly, the moves that Lugia had used over the course of this battle haven't been anything too special so far. So, Venom kept his wits about him as he and his Pokemon fought, knowing that Lugia was definitely capable of so much more than this.

Regardless, the only thing that anyone could do in this situation was keep on fighting, which is exactly what Venom and Nidoking planned on doing. "We're coming up on the halfway point, Nidoking! Don't let up now! Hit Lugia with another Megahorn!" As Venom called for a repeat of Nidoking's first attack, he grabbed Arbok's Poke Ball once again, getting ready to switch Nidoking out after this round was over. "Let up?! Me?! Not a chance!" The Drill Pokemon responded to his trainer's words, then filled his horn with as much energy as he could and charged straight for Lugia's gut one more time. And as Nidoking was delivering the attack, Venom found himself wondering what would happen if he, the other trainers, and their Pokemon did manage to win this battle and defeat a real legendary Pokemon.

The stunkhorn had been a really good purchase, right now she did all the right things and didn't shy away from how smaller she was compared to her opponent. A wrongfully placed foot and she would have been done for, not that Lugia was much down at the ground much. Minerva jumped and sent out a black gas from behind and Lei smirked at the lugia did not look like it like the smell of that.
"A shame it can't hit harder," she mumbled but knew her pokemon were too untrained to really do anything against a opponent like this. They relied on the other trainers and their pokemon, she squared her shoulders, but they certainly relied on her as well.

Speaking of the others, Lei looked around, this was a mess. The trainer with the magnezone had seemed a bit like he was in charge to begin with but he hadn't done anything else about it.
She decided to do something about it, would also make it easier to argue she had the most right to try capture the legendary afterwards.
"Hey!" She called to the dark figure who directed the nidoking, she frowned as she got closer and heard it sounded like he had a conversation with his pokemon. She sighted, crazy people.
"What pokemon do you have who can either hurt or weaken that thing, it would be nice to be able to organise this a bit so we don't die," she called out dryly to Venom.

After that she'd go to the trainer of the white ghost, and just as she got closer it lead out a very familiar high pitched screech which forced Lei to cover her ears. She was grinning when she reached the other trainer.
"Good choice!" She called, "what other tricks do you have up your sleeves?" She was already trying to remember who had used physical moves earlier, which they could be paired up with.

At last she tried to find the trainer of the houndour who seemed to act mostly on its own, it turned its back on Lugia to bark at someone far away and Lei guessed they were the ones owning it. She ran towards the person.

Dragomir was shaking in the effort of keeping the light screen going, he knew he couldn't do it much longer as he felt the brute force of the attacks slam against it time and time again. But how would the others fare without it?

Something caught Mishu's attention as she diverted her attention away from her Houndour. So many trainers were lost in the moment as they tried to battle the colossal titan. Another trainer was running in her direction, which made Mishu jump back for a second in surprise. Was she trying to get her attention? She walked over cautiously and lifted one hand up to wave to Leilani. "My Houndour is impossibly outmatched by this kaiju and she keeps insisting on fighting. Do you... know what happened?" Mishu questioned Leilani. Normally, Mishu started off with introductions and pleasantries, but this seemed like the wrong place and the wrong time to worry about all of that.

Hinoina's sharp eyes remained fixated on the beast. She wasn't ready to throw in the towel just yet. The young pup was pleased that her bite had managed to deal some damage, but also upset that it didn't seem to do enough. She worried what might happen if she didn't figure out a better way to scare the beast away from their camp. Would everyone's life be in jeopardy? She had only managed to scratch the side of Lugia's wings at best with her bite, and doubted anything else would add much effort to the fray.

"Why have you targeted us?" Hinoina barked in a loud, commanding voice as she questioned the beast. She would back up for a second and turn around to see the other Pokemon that were helping out in the fight. "Who here has the best moves to help confuse this creature and weaken its defenses? I've only really got fighting moves. We need to divert our skills where they're best useful, team!" She howled, unwilling to back out of the fight but also wanting to help make sure everyone was giving it their all.
