Nate was concerned over what ever had raised the ship up, since Blasty could not find a single sign of it. Then there was how they were going to get off of the island since it didn't look like the ship would be floating for much longer. But luckily Lei had managed to arrive at the island and had decided to go exploring with him.
"Who knows how long we will be stuck on the island. We are going to get the basic things like where the best food is to scavenge, exploring the island so that we know where the best places to go to camp and to avoid the weather. Also what are the weather patterns of the island?" He stated out loud to no one in particular. Blasty looked on slightly disappointed when he heard Lei tell Flynn to go into the water, he wasn't really happy since the Oshawott had kept on insisting that he was scared of everything even though he was not. "Be ready as we don't know what's out there." Nate whispered to Luck as he gently stroked it. "Hopefully it is not a Chinchou, Mantine, or a Lotad or something similar since my Scatterbug doesn't know any bug type moves to deal any damage yet and Blasty isn't that strong either." He said with a sigh.
Luck looked down when she heard a question and noticed the small green bug Pokemon. 'My name is Luck...' She looked at the water type Pokemon. '...the Squirtle in the water is Blasty...' Luck snuggled up next to Nate's neck. '...this is my trainer Nate. What is your name?'
Blasty rolled his eyes slightly as Flynn told him where to go, but it was a good idea though. 'Sure lets go.' He dived and followed the Oshawott towards deeper in the water. 'But what is living here?' Blasty said, but before he could wait for an answer he noticed something spinning towards him so he swam away towards the surface of the water and over to Nate leading what ever it was towards the two trainers. "I guess our first thing to battle are Staryu's." Nate said. Blasty walked up to Nate and sat down next to him. "Luck this is your battle." Nate lowered his bug Pokemon down to the ground. Luck crawled forward ready for the battle. "Luck use Stun Spore on Staryu on the left." Nate said. Luck released a cloud of orange powder from her mouth at the Staryu.

"Pretty huh?" Flynn said warmly to Blasty when he gotten another kind of reaction to his comment than expected, perhaps the squirtle was annoyed with him now and his teasing. That hadn't been his goal, but there was little he could do about it if Blasty didn't tell him. Flynn pushed himself a bit deeper and ran a hand over some soft green algae which grew on the rocks, he bend forward and peeked into a little hold which lead under the rock and tried to see if there was something hiding in there or not. "Not sure if there is anything living in here, its too small for me to get into," he said and straightened and gave a few slaps with his tail to not float up to the surface. "It's a weird place, do you think this place is connected with the ocean through tunnels or something? The water is so still but clearly salty, it has to come from the sea but the rocks is kind of in the way," he mused as he hadn't seen rock pools before nor knew how they worked.
Flynn spun around as reaction to Blasty's movement which clearly showed the squirtle had seen something. Two staryus were swirling towards them and he didn't notice the little rock which also came floating as it was small and he didn't think it had any importance. "Now there is something living here! Let's get them to our humans," Flynn said with a grin and gave one of the staryus a slap with his hand to make sure it followed him when he raced to the surface and jumped out of the water.
The sewaddle nodded eagerly, "You are really lucky?" he asked kindly and smiled, "I'm called Leafshade, I know, not very imaginative," he said with a chuckle and gestured to the leaf on his head casting a shade on him.
Lei had begun circling the rock pool looking into the water in an attempt to spot any potential pokemon to battle, suddenly a rock rolled to her feet and she stepped on it to stop it. A flash of orange and two staryus were charging at her. "Leafshade!" She shouted but the sewaddle had fallen behind, too focused on talking with Luck, Lei kicked the rock in an attempt to hit at least one of the staryus and slow it down, but her aim was poor and her kick worse, the rock flew to the side and plopped into the water. The staryus followed. "Huh?" Lei said confused as she stared at the water, "what just happened?" A sound mixed of a gasp and a groan escaped her when something else jumped out of the water, but it was just Flynn who sent her a wide grin, looked back, jumped the side and timed a pose of presenting something really well with when the staryus jumped out of the water.
"Leafshade!" Lei snapped and the sewaddle hurried the last short distance to her and looked apologetically at her. "Bug Bite! On the left!" Lei snapped and pointed at the smaller of the two staryus, and looked at Nate, "seems like it," she finally answered him, still sounding angry. She exhaled to calm her irritation a bit, "do you want to catch one of these?" She asked, "I already got one, so I have no need."

The Staryu had a feeling the two trainers were going to gang up on one of them to try and gain a numbers advantage and neither of them was going to stand for it. As soon as Lei and Nate called their moves the two Staryu rushed into action spinning like a top before skidding on the water towards Leafsahde trying to give the trainers an early taste of their own medicine. The Rapid Spins not only made anyone who watched dizzy but the younger Staryu actually managed to build up more speed than usual as the two Pokemon slammed into the poor Sewaddle back to back. The second Rapid Spin from the younger Staryu scored a CRITICAL HIT while boosting the speed of both Staryu. Despite the great plan working in theory the attacks could not even sap half of Leafshade's health as he quickly shook off both attacks in no mood to show either Staryu any mercy at all after they ganged up on him. He approached the younger Staryu as it recovered from the energy it expended scoring the critical hit and managed to use a powerful Bug Bute on one of the STaryu's arms. It screeched in pain as it did everything it could to shake Leafshade off. While it managed to do so it also opened itself up to the Stun Spore Luck had sent it's way. As it inhaled the fumes it's body started to lock up as it's speed was reduced and it could not fully control it's limbs. Both Staryu were very worried now as they could no longer rely on ganging up on the trainers Pokemon and neither Staryu had a way to recover from the Paralysis and though the higher leveled Staryu had avoided the attack it could not do much to help it's friend. The only good news for Staryu was both got faster from using Rapid Spin and neither of the trainers Pokemon could keep up with the elder Staryu. Given the rough spot they were in however that was not much of a consolation prize. The Staryu knew this next round could not go as badly as this one did or else they may quickly lose any chance they had of winning the battle. 'I guess.' Blasty said, it was a nice view as it wasn't very often that he had a chance to swim under water in the past, but that could change during his travels with Nate. Blasty continued to search to see what sort of Pokemon that would be a good partner for Nate to join. But since he hadn't really interacted much with his trainer or the other Pokeon, he wasn't really sure what his trainer was really like or what sort of Pokemon he planned on catching. 'Why not try using your yellow seashell to make make it bigger?' Blasty had never met a Oshawott before so he wasn't even sure if it could take the yellow seashell from its stomach or if it was attached to it like Squirtle's shell was. 'I have no idea as this is my first time here. Maybe there are some under sea tunnels that lead to the ocean? I would hate to go in one and can't get back to Nate.' Blasty shuddered slightly as being separated from Nate was the last thing he wanted to happen.
Blasty only quickly glanced behind him and saw that Flynn had slapped one with his tail before they both led the wild Staryu's to their trainers.
Luck couldn't help but to giggle slightly at what the Sewaddle had to say. 'I think that it is mainly because Nate was lucky to find me.' She couldn't help but to smile kindly at the bug type Pokemon. 'That is a cool name. At least you aren't called Green because that is what colour you are.'
Nate watched carefully as Leafshade returned to Lei's side ready for the battle. He did feel slightly sorry for the bug type from its trainer snapping at it, but it may have just been his fault, since the two bug types were talking to each other. "I don't have one yet, so I guess I will capture one."
He looked at the two Staryu's as he wondered which one he should capture, since they both appeared to be strong compared to his Pokemon that he had on hand. So Nate would have to use Luck for now so that he could scope out what moves the two Staryu's knew and how to best capture them. It would also let him observe how the female trainer battled. Nate let out a slight sigh as the two Staryu's attacked Leafshade. "At least Luck is safe for now." He thought to himself.
Nate couldn't help but to be excites over how the double attacks didn't appear to damage Leafshade that much as it launched its own attack on smaller of the two Staryu's. Soon enough Luck's Stun Spore managed to connect with the smaller Staryu. "At least htat one will be slower now." Nate said as he thought about what his next move will be.
"Luck use Tackle on the same Staryu." Nate called out. Luck charged forward and attempted to lunge at the smaller Staryu hoping to inflict some damage.

Flynn paused and looked down at the shell on his belly, "That's a great idea! Why didn't I think of that!" He exclaimed and pulled it off and violently began to whack at the side of the hole. It was far from effective and he soon gave up, and peered into the hole. "It's no use, even if I make the opening bigger its just as small further in," he said and turned away from it. He grinned at Blastly, "that might very well be it!" The oshawott looked puzzled at the squirtle's worry of not being able to get back to his trainer, "if we end in a tunnel which drags us to the sea, we just go to the surface and swim back to the island, and then we can just walk back. Easy peasy. I bet they'd be surprised if we went into the pool and arrived behind them walking over land!" He laughed at the thought.
Leafshade smiled and nodded, that was true althought he still found his name rather cliché. He spun around when Lei shouted for him and rushed forward only to get not one, but two staryu's smacked right in the face. Especially the second one managed to find the most soft spot and sent him flying back and onto the hard rocks which surrounded the pool. Flynn winced. "Oooow," he complained as he got back up on his feet, he glared at the staryus with one eye beginning to swell and several bruises began to show. "What did you do that for?!" He shouted angrily at the faceless water types. "You are going to pay for that!"
"Good, let's get you one then," Lei said with a wry smile and studied the two yellow stars for a bit, she showed no signs of pity for her sewaddle. "I'd say that one," she pointed at the bigger of the two staryus, "are the strongest and that the other just got a lucky shot this time. Bug Bite Leafshade, go after the one to the left." Lei ordered not expecting her pokemon to be able to distinguish the two staryus from each other, they were very similar and pokemon were dumb.
"Any plan on how to catch the other? Do you want to damage it or try paralyze it?" Lei asked and sent Nate a questioningly look, she had no idea how skilled he was in catching pokemon as she two she had seen he had was rather untrained and weak, and she guessed he hadn't caught any of them. "I would like to get Flynn in after we have gotten rid of one of these two, to give him a bit of experience with battles too," Lei informed.
"Score!" Flynn exclaimed and clenched a hand in a victory gesture, "did you hear that Blasty? I get to battle!"

The unparalyzed Staryu knew it had to act fast to try and help it's friend anyway it could. The boosted speed did mean it would easily outrun anything Lei or Nate could send out and taking full advantage of that fact it started to spin to gain speed before making a beeline for Leafshade trying to cause as much damage as it could before the Sewaddle could strike again. The Rapid Spin scored a direct hit as Staryu collided with Leafshade buying the paralyzed Staryu a few precious seconds. Miraculously the paralized Staryu was able to move this round as it started to spin as well. Taking full advantage of the fact that it could target Leafshade as well it rushed towards the young Sewaddle scoring a direct hit as well. By now however Leafshade was able to strike back scoring another crippling blow with Bug Bite on the lower leveled Staryu. As it tried to shake the bug off it had no hope of dodging Luck's incoming Tackle attack. Though it seemed certain the combination would be too much to bare Staryu somehow held on with a single hit point remaining. Though it was clear it could not take any more damage it would still outspeed it's foes so long as paralysis did not prevent it from attacking in the next round. The higher leveled Staryu was ready to panic however as it was almost alone in the battle at this point. As fast as it was speed was not going to be enough to win this battle and it had very few good options left. With the next round about to begin it only had a very short period of time to try and find a way out of this bad situation. Blasty watched as Flynn actually pulled the seashell off of his belly. 'So it can actually come off.' He thought to himself. He continued to watch as the Oshawott started to whack the side of the hole for a few moments. 'It was worth a shot.' Blasty looked on slightly disappointed as he was interested in learning what was located within the hole. 'But we don't know where we will end up in the ocean. We could end up so far out in the ocean that we have no idea where we are or how to get back to our trainers.' Blasty looked on slightly upset. 'It sound like you are a prankster on your trainer, I don't think Nate would be happy if I did that to him.'
Luck did find it stupid when Pokemon had a nickname from their trainer based on what colour they are. Why would you name a Pikachu Yellow, or a Squirtle Blue just because those are their colours. Blasty went over to Nate but remained standing as he was ready to enter the battle if he needed to to give Luck a break. 'I hope you are ok.' Luck looked at Leafshade slightly upset that the two Staryu's had attacked the other bug type Pokemon. 'You need to remain calm, otherwise we won't win since we have never battled together.' She wanted to keep her partner calm in this battle. 'We will take them both on.' Luck stated confidently.
"That is good to hear." Nate stated, since he wasn't entirely sure how he would be able to capture either of the Staryu's since they both looked a lot stronger than either of his Pokemon. "I don't really mind which one I capture. I already have a water type in Blasty so I doubt I would be using the Staryu much." Nate shrugged slightly. "A stronger one would be helpful, but it may have a different move from the other Staryu."
Nate looked over to Lei as she asked about him capturing the Staryu. "I will try to paralyze it and then weaken it down some more so that it would be easier to capture. Since I only have pokeballs, a greatball and a nestball, I doubt I would be able to capture it at full strength unless I get extremely lucky." He was confident in capturing Pokemon but he was also worried about his current Pokemon. "After I have paralyzed the other Staryu and the weaker one is defeated then I will bring in Blasty so that he can do some battling."
'It will be the two of us battling soon.' Blasty stated with a grin.
Nate looked on concerned as both of the wild Staryu's had managed to attack the Sewaddle, even though one of them were paralyzed. He soon relaxed when both of the bug type Pokemon managed to successfully managed to attack the weaker Staryu but it had barely managed to succeed to survive the attacks. "Only if I could capture it while the other Staryu is there." He let out a slight sigh as it would then mean that there would only be a single wild Pokemon to battle.
"Luck use Tackle again." Nate said hoping to manage knock out the weaker Staryu. Luck charged forward and attempted to lunge at the smaller Staryu hoping to inflict some damage.

Lei shrugged, "if you don't want it, you can always sell it. Or you can lend it to Professor Elm, whom I know is constantly looking for pokemon for his research for his pokedex." She nodded to Nate's musings, "potential yes, but even if it doesn't it will be ablet o hit harder and endure more, simpy due to being more buff," she said with a smile, it mean less training which was always a good thing. The frizzy haired woman frowned a bit but then shrugged, "I don't think that much is necessary but better safe than sorry I guess. Are you in a tight spot when it comes to money?" She asked curiously, pokeballs wasn't exactly expensive and while she could understand wanting to save up, pokeballs was not a thing she'd ever would risk lacking. They were an essentials. "I hope you can hit with the paralysis, it can be a bit tricky. And I'd wish it would work on the one you had used it on already," she grumbled as she watched the two staryus slam into Leafshade again, "if it continues like this I'm going to need to heal it!"
Lei watched her sewaddle intently, he was very bruised and moved slowly. She sighed and pulled a potion from her bag, she'd rather heal him and have him continue than sending in Flynn now, she doubted her oshawott would be able to handle much else than just a round or so. "Leafshade! Come here!" She called and took a step forward so they met in the middle, she gestured for the sewaddle to open his mouth and then dumped the potion down his throat making him cough. "Get back out there and get their attention, keep them off Nate's pokemon," She ordered and Leafshade turned back towards the staryu's, still coughing.
Flynn didn't answer any more of Blasty's comment while they were in the water, he didn't have time to with all the swimming to not get attacked by the staryu, but well up on the beach, he strolled over to Blasty. "It's going to be awesome! Two brave heroes showing them stars what a real battle is!" He said with a grin and watched the staryus for a bit before turning to the squirtle with a thought he had from earlier. "About teasing your trainer by coming from another direction, you think your trainer doesn't like that?" He asked curiously and then shook his hand while whistling, "phew, that must be hard to live under, is he ever laughing? Sounds like you have to walk on needles to not scare him!" He sent a worried glance at Nate, just what had that boy been under to not be able to enjoy a little fun? Seeing someone off in one direction and then meeting them from another direction a few minutes later usually just resulted in surprised laughs and curiosity on how that had happened. Not people being shocked. "Doesn't he like being out of control at all?" He added.

The Paralyzed Staryu knew it would not endure any attack this round but as luck would have it Paralysis showed it a bit of mercy yet again by not preventing it from attacking one final time. Both Staryu took full advantage of this as they started to spin to prepare for a Rapid Spin Attack. The higher leveled Staryu got up to speed first as it rushed towards Leafshade right after Lei used a Potion causing a small amount of damage as the Paralyzed Staryu followed closely behind. As they finished their combo attack however disaster struck as Luck delivered a weak Tackle attack. Usually it would not be a huge threat but the Paralyzed Staryu was in such poor shape it proved too much to handle as it fell over in defeat. The remaining Staryu was filled with rage by what had happened to it's friend vowing revenge against both the Pokemon and trainers who had beat up it's friend. It was already far faster than any of their Pokemon and would easily get off another attack well before they could do anything about it. Staryu had no way to stop any capture attempts however and to make matters worse the heatwave was still causing water type attacks to be worthless. It truly needed a miracle about now in order to try and turn things around as another round was about to begin. "I guess I could always use it for a water HM user as I don't want to really have my main Pokemon knowing the HM moves unless it is ones that I would use fairly often in my travels like Fly or Surf?" He raised an eyebrow as he thought about his options. "Professor Elm has asked me to complete the pokedex so capturing one and eventually evolving it would help me." "That is true. So far they have only used Rapid Spin between the two of them, so there are still six more moves we don't know about. If it was me I would use a water type move as it would be stronger than a normal type Pokemon. Since the only advantage of Rapid Spin is to increase the speed." He didn't really mind the two wild Staryu's using Rapid Spin since it gave their Pokemon a fighting chance. Nate smirked slightly and gently shook his head as he listened to what she had to say. "I am not that short on money, I just never went to the shop before the cruise as I didn't really expect to be getting into Pokemon battles on the cruise. At most I was expecting to have one or two friendly battles against a trainer and that was it." "It is a shame that the Stun Spore did not effect both of the Staryu's on the first turn I used it." He let out a slight sigh. "I guess I just got lucky with the other one." Nate looked at the two wild Pokemon attacking Leafshade once again. "Do it, I doubt the smaller Staryu will survive this round."
Nate did feel bad since the Sewaddle had been the only one who had been attacked and it was showing signs of the battle, but soon enough it was healed up to what looked like half health. "I am sorry about this. I am only at the beginning of my journey, I was training up for the first gym and I was still training and capturing Pokemon in Route 29 before this cruise." He looked down slightly as if his Pokemon were stronger then they may have been able to do more. He looked up at Luck. "Use Stun Spore again." Luck released a cloud of orange powder from her mouth at the Staryu.
Blasty kept his eyes on the battle happening before them as if the Sewaddle couldn't really do much against the two Staryu's teaming up on it, then he doubt that he would be able to do much. His thoughts were broken when Flynn spoke to him. 'But just how much are we going to be able to do against them?' Blasty cocked his head to the side slightly. 'As I have said before, I don't really know my trainer that way. So I do not want to do anything that he doesn't like until I get to know him better.' Blasty looked over at Nate. 'He is just a very reserved person who doesn't really open up about things. He is obviously hiding from something or someone so he has his own reason for being the way he is. So I will just have to get so much stronger so that I can protect him from what ever he is afraid of.' 'He likes to know everything that is going on around him so that he can make plans based on what ever happens.'

"Yeah, I guess it can be quite limiting," Lei said, "I guess I would do the same but I can't really say yet. On alola we had a pager which could call the pokemon we needed when we had to surf or something, why they haven't set something up like that here is beyond me. It was nice not having to think of training my own pokemon, but just call when I need." She looked surprised at Nate, "I knew that The Professor had others to help him with the pokedex as well, then I'm just doing my job if I help you get some pokemon registreret," she grinned, "I wonder if I could argue with him about getting paid for that too." She eyed Nate as she wondered how she could get that proved, would probably require that he confirmed it somehow, and Elm might then want to pay her by deducting what he would have given Nate. That would make it hard to get Nate to accept to confirm her help.
"Six?" The black haired woman said surprised, "oh, you mean of their moves we haven't seen yet, at least four of them are probably the same. Pokemon rarely are that unique if you just catch them from the wild, that is why bred or trained pokemon are so much better, you need to teach them to really go far," she said confidently. She shrugged and gestured towards the sun above them, "perhaps its the sun, it can take the brunt of the water attack, just like rain can strengthen it, or rain dampens a fire move. I had actually expected some water attacks, my sewaddle is a part grass type so it would have handled that just fine."
"That makes sense," Lei agreed, she had more than the mere basic on her, but had she planned a real cruise she wasn't certain she would even have brought any pokemon. "this probably have taught us both its best to be prepared, when it comes to pokemon, you never know where you end up facing." She looked critically at Luck, "I doubt it can be made big enough to cover more than one target, it has to be rather concentrated for it to work, so that they inhale enough for it to kick in," she said thoughtfully and then laughed humorlessly, "I'm surprised it survived the last rounds of attack!"
Lei looked puzzled at Nate, "what are you apologizing for?" She shrugged, "I can see your pokemon needs training, and honestly, mine does as well," the last part she said dryly as she gestured to Flynn. the oshawott gasped and theatrically placed a hand on his chest as if he was offended. "Things take time," Lei said as she looked back on the battle, "learn your own strengths and your opponents weakness and you'll get there in no time," she said and then smirked as she looked back at Nate, "oh right, don't forget to toughen your pokemon up."
Leafshade was feeling a bit more confident now that he seemed to be doing his job alright. It helped a lot too, to know that Lei actually did have his back and was ready to support him when needed, when the battle was this much on his shoulders. "Hey! Fishface! Is that all you got?! I barely felt anything!" He shouted at the remaining staryu and crawled forward as fast as he could when Lei shouted to him to use another bug bite. That should do the trick, right?
Flynn patted Blasty reassuringly on the back, "We'll figure something out! Don't you worry. They are water types and we're water types, so its not like they can do much more to us than we can to them, if that's the way you are looking at it," he said with a grin. "How would you go against his wishes if he asks you to battle and tell you what he wants you to do?" Flynn asked kindly, this squritle was overthinking way too much. The oshawott couldn't see how a simple battle guided by the trainers could be any problem at all. "If you just follow orders, its their responsibility to do things right after all, and I haven't seen anything other than good planning and tactics from those two!" He declared and gestured at their trainers. Flynn looked baffled at Blasty, "sounds like you know him pretty well! At least more than I know my trainer," he looked thoughtful for a moment, "I know she's confident and probably stubborn too. I think she can be rather lazy and I'm pretty sure she wish she had pokemon who are stronger than what she got."

The remaining sea star stood tall in front of its two opponents. It friend had fought long and hard to try to help it win this fight. Though the rising tide seemed to cast a shadow over the brown echinoderm, it wouldn’t give in. These two combatants were strong together and worked in tandem to slowly whittle away the best efforts that the two sea stars have had against them. In contrast, the echinoderm bright red gem seemed focused on the Sewaddle as it seemed firmly set that if it took this domino piece out, then the whole tower would fall around them. No. These two would not win! The sea star jumped up high into the air and began to spin around in wide circles. Though it seemed as though it might have spun directly at its opponent, instead the echinoderm created large rings in the air. They were mesmerizing rings that glowed with a strange, purplish light. They floated all around Leafshade and wrapped the small plant-like bug up with a powerful hold. Once the rings vanished in thin air, it would leave the Sewaddle confused. The sea star jumped up several times, pumping its individual limbs in excitement as it managed to confuse the other Pokemon. Leafshade stumbled a bit. He shook himself as he fought off the worst of the confusion. Though the imagery of the sea star would seem to split into several sea stars, all pumping their limbs up excitedly and dancing all around him, Leafshade would manage to focus through the confusion. Eventually, he would narrow his gaze on the correct sea star, charging towards the Staryu and jumping on it to bite down on as hard as it could near the gem in the center of its body. The Staryu cried out loudly and jumped up, spinning rapidly until it managed to break free from Leafshade’s bite. It’s spins whipped up a powerful gust of air that would knock Luck’s stun spore away from it, saving the Staryu from being paralyzed. "The only thing it would help you with is that at least you would have them on your team when ever you need them and you don't need to go and swap your team around based on what you need to proceed." He said simply and looked at her interested with what she had to say about her home region. "That would be so much better if they did that here as well." Nate let out a slight sigh. "Don't tell me that you are also doing the same thing? Just how any people has he roped in to do the pokedex for him then?" Honestly, he did think he was the only one doing it so it surprised him to learn that there might be other people doing the same thing as he was. "Why would you get paid for helping me to capture a Pokemon?" He looked on confused as that didn't really make much sense to him.
"Yeah six. We have only seen them both use the same move so we know that they both know Rapid Spin." Nate gently nibbled his lower lip. "But is that two more moves that are the same, or is it one more that is the same? Since we know that they have one move that is the same, so that leaves six more that we don't know about. So either the other three moves that they know are the same what would be the best case scenario for us but if they know different moves it will be a lot harder to defeat them." He couldn't help but to smirk slightly since he didn't really have the time to breed Pokemon so he would just be stuck with average Pokemon. "But just how weaker is the sun making the water type moves though? Luck isn't exactly strong so I reckon even a basic water type move could cause decent damage to her since Luck is a basic bug type Pokemon." Nate rubbed his chin gently as he thought about it.
"That is true." He looked towards his two Pokemon that were currently out before he looked back at the female trainer. "Next time I will make sure I have a decent amount of balls to capture Pokemon along with healing items so that my Pokemon are looked after during any kind of battle." Blasty looked between the trainers as they talked about the bug type Pokemon. "I know there are some moves that can hit multiple targets like Earthquake. So it would be so much easier if there was a status move that could hit multiple Pokemon." He looked at the wild Pokemon. "But I doubt it will survive this round of attacks."
"But if they were stronger then they would have been able to do more during this battle. The only move my two Pokemon know that are the same type as them are Blasty who knows Water Gun and I doubt that is going to do much against them." He smiled gently as it was nice to hear that there are other trainers who need to train their Pokemon. "That is true. I plan on challenging the gyms slightly like yours and slightly differently as I plan on using Pokemon that are at a disadvantage against the gym as best as I can." Nate had ideas on what he would use against Falkner since he knew that he was a flying type gym leader.
Blasty looked on disappointed as he listened to what Flynn had to say about the two wild Staryus. 'But they look so much tougher than either of us. So I reckon they would do much more damage than we would inflict on them. Then there is also the fact that they are much faster than they were at the start of this battle.' He looked on concerned for his bug type teammate. 'I will not enter the battle as I don't see the point in pointless fighting. But if anyone attacks any of my teammates then you can bet I will enter the fight to protect my friends.' 'Nate is in his element when it comes to Pokemon battles. He likes to learn things about his opponent and use that against him. I just can't wait to see what he comes up with in the future when we know better moves.' He blew a bubble and then popped it in his mouth.
"Luck come back." Nate said. Luck crawled back to Nate not sure what her trainer was planning to do. "Blasty you are up." Nate looked over to his starter Pokemon. 'I guess I am up now.' Blasty walked forward ready to battle the Staryu wanting to show what he can do.

"I have heard of someone having one pokemon who could be taught the most moves, and just brought that one along, have you heard of that?" Lei asked, she had mostly heard it in derogating terms and people calling that pokemon a slave, but she thought the idea pretty good, if you really needed to bring it along. She laughed when she heard Nate being surprised they were others than him helping Professor Elm, "I wouldn't be surprised if he asked every single trainer which passed his lab," she chuckled, "the more data he gets, the better. To be honest though, I doubt most trainers give him more than the most basic information." She glanced at Nate and shrugged, "I was just joking, but I thought that if two trainers gave the same date to him due to helping each other, then they should both be given the reward. Would probably be rather complicated though."
"That is true," Lei admitted and looked at the staryu, she doubted they would be something special about them. She wouldn't be surprised if they were identical. "I don't know, but while your scatterbug might not be able to handle many water attacks, I am sure it would still be able to endure one or two," she said, while she had wanted the staryus to focus on Leafshade to protect Nate's weaker pokemoner, she didn't see his scatterbug as really weak. "Bug isn't weak to water after all."
The frissy haired trainer chuckled, "a bit hard to plan when the shipwreck wasn't really anything we expected to happen. I know a lot of things I would have brought too, if I had planned being stranded on this island!" She nodded along with Nate's thoughts, "It would be yes, as long as you are the one using them. I'm sure you'd hate them if they were used against you, they are always a double edged sword." She shrugged, "You will always run into that, even if you should be a champion you'd run into people beating you. I did all the Trials back in Alola and had a pretty solid team so I won more or less all battles, but I still ran into some where I really had to give it my all and still didn't came out on top," she smirked and raised her eyebrows as she looked at Nate, "but that is also why I like battling!" Lei looked surprised at Nate when he revealed he had now decided to give himself a big challenge, "really?!" She said excitedly, "please tell me when you are going to challenge! I want to watch that!"
"Whoops! Seems like it's time for another move from the staryu than rapid spin," Lei said cheerfully but then her face fell and she groaned, "but of course its that stupid confusion... aaaand its working," she grumbled annoyed while Leafshade was staring at his own leaf in wonder, and was pushing himself more and more backwards as he tried to see the one above him. She held out his pokeball and recalled him. "You're up Flynn," Lei said grimly and he gave her a thumbs up as he eagerly ran forward.
"Hm, you might be right, but then we just need to use our brains to win over their brawn!" Flynn said with a grin, he looked puzzled at Blasty as he stated he would need good points for battle. "So what is a good cause? What if Nate ordered your team to attack an innocent pokemon and then you'd have to go save your team afterwards?" Flynn asked to poke to Blasty's point of view. He giggled at the last part the squirtle said, "are you saying Nate will learn moves to use too? And have to shout them out aloud to use them?"
"Let's goooo!" The oshawott shouted and leaped into battle when ordered to. He jumped over to Blasty and placed his mouth right at where he thought the squirtle's ear would be, and whispered: "let's try get it to use a water move, that we will handle the best!" He jumped away and turned to the staryu which he studied critically. "Hey, are you sure you are a water type? A real one I mean? I thought you were supposed to be able to use water moves, but you are perhaps just faking that? I mean, look at me and my pal Blasty here, we're water types, and we're blue, and what are you?" He called to the remaining staryu, and blew a small squirt of water out of his mouth, upwards. "Come one! Show me what you got! Show me the rumors are true and that you are a real water type!" He encouraged the orange starfish.
