Pia flapped to get up over the treetops and there she hung a bit as she thought about in which direction to go, she turned in one and began to soar there, with most bugs hiding in fear as her shadow fell over them. The sun was beating down on her and even the wind from her flight couldn't cool her down as her black feathers more or less sucked in the heat. She dived and began swaying in between the trees, it was much nicer down here and the bugs didn't hide from her in the same way as they didn't got warned by her shadow.
She got bit and pieces of their chatting among themselves and frowned when it was mostly about some sort of grass goat, which had beaten a bug recently. It sounded awfully familiar, Pia didn't doubt her team could handle the bugs if they tried something funny.
Pia made a sharp turn and swoop back over a piece of grass she had just passed, then turned around again and landed beside it. She turned her head and eyed it with one eye, and scraped it a bit with a foot.
The grass was black and looked to have been smoldering recently, the grass close by was flat as if something round had fallen down on it and rolled a bit, and then having been picked up again. Pia tilted her head as she wondered what had happened here, the grass could either have been attacked by fire or electricity, but what had made the dent in the grass was a mystery as it was much bigger than a pokeball.
She listened to try hear anything which could give her some answers while she looked around the area.

"Oh my goodness!" Astrid exclaimed when the Volbeat got right in her face, flashing its lights angrily. Yakul snorted and began to stomp agitated and the old woman grasped her horn to stop her from charging off.
"Silvia?" Astrid called, now she had given the water type a chance to battle.
"Please calm down, what is wrong?" Astrid asked the volbeat and took a few steps back to not be too close, dragging the skiddo with her.

Rita had frozen with her whiskers quivering, Silvia watched her curiously.
"Something's coming," Rita whispered and a moment later the volbeat came buzzing out and started to scold Astrid, who called for Silvia. The seadra watched critically and then glanced at Rita and smirked.
"You are faster than me, and I might risk hitting our old grandma if I try from this distance," Silvia suggested and Rita shot her a wild glance.
"But..." she began and Silvia gave her a nudge with har snout.
"There is plenty of escape routes and it wouldn't know you are coming," Silvia urged, "but it might be aggressive towards Astrid if we wait too long.."
Rita tripped in place but then leapt and raced towards the volbeat, looking more for a way out than her target she was racing towards. As a rattata she wasn't really light and silent though, and if the volbeat turned to her, Rita's eyes would widen even more and she'd pick up speed. When getting close enough, she'd open her mouth wide, showing her long fangs.

Vengeance pumped through the Volbeat’s veins. It chanted fast beats, like war drums being hammered away by their player. The sounds that whirred inside of the Volbeat’s head were metallic in beat, like death metal that begged for the taste of a sacrifice it had yet to devour. And when the bright blue bug with his black back, small translucent wings, and yellow stripes narrowed in on his opponents, the Volbeat would pause just above the round rodent and her trainer. Who were they? What right did they think they had hurting one of their precious Illumise?! No! The Volbeat would not allow this to be!

“You’ve caused terrible harm to our beloved Illumise!” The volbeat called. It floated up high as its rear end glowed with a bright light. The long, yellow-and-black banded antenna wiggled and swayed in the open breeze and seemed to glow with a strange light. Still, blood was needed to wash away this great sin that this troupe had caused upon their colony. “We seek the bloodthirsty Skiddo! You may pass in peace, if you sacrifice the Skiddo to us!” The Volbeat informed Rita. Though, Rita lunged, missing the Volbeat who flew just out of each.

“Will you not give her up!?” The Volbeat flared his nostrils and huffed. Then, the Volbeat lowered his head and sped through the air as fast as he could at Rita. He would ram his head against Rita’s side with a powerful thump. However, this left him wide open. Rita spun around with her mouth wide agape. The Volbeat’s eyes widened in fear and as he tried to speed out of reach, thick globs of saliva would coat his wings. Then, the satisfied crunch of teeth would signal the end of the fight for the poor Volbeat. As quickly as it flew into the fray, it would speed back off to warn its colony of how powerful Astrid's group truly were.
