With everything that had been going on lately, Venom had all but forgotten about the rain, even though he was now drenched from head to toe. Thankfully, Venom had endured worse during his years spent in the wild, so there was little risk of him catching a cold or something. Still, the rain definitely wasn't helping, as it did indeed make it harder for the ninja to hear any spirits that might be lurking about. Fortunately, Venom still had his highly trained snake eyes, which he made full use of and narrowed as he searched for any wandering spirits. At first, all he saw was several wild Pokemon seeking refuge from the rain, but the Poison type trainer was still not convinced and continued to search. He kept his wits about him at all times too, hoping to get the drop on any wandering spirts before they got the drop on him.
Unfortunately, this was easier said than done when it came to ghosts, as Venom suddenly heard the sounds of giggling in his ears. Even through the sounds of the rain, this ominous giggling caught Venom's attention right away. And once the ninja felt someone or something brush his hair, he immediately jumped backwards and grabbed a single Poke Ball. "Enough games, spirit! Show yourself!" Venom demanded, knowing that this had to be the work of a spirit, as he didn't see or hear any wild Pokemon anywhere near him at that moment. But when the spirit suddenly appeared right in front of his face, even Venom couldn't help flinching at least a little bit, especially after said spirit spoke to him a single word and in a very creepy way. Even so, Venom shook off the fear right away, narrowing his eyes at the spirit, even after it started to fade out.
"So, it's a Duskull this time. No matter. It's still a Ghost type Pokemon. Which means this should do the job. Whirlipede, it's time for round two!" Venom tossed the Poke Ball in his grip up into the air, sending the Curlipede Pokemon back into the fray once again. "Another ghost?! What's up with this forest?!" Whirlipede immediately questioned out loud, then readied himself for battle, doing his best not to show any fear. "It's a long story, Whirlipede! I'll tell you and the others all about it later! But for now, use Pursuit!" Even if this spirit faded away, Venom knew that Pursuit would still be able to hit it right where it hurts, since it never missed and it was super effective. "Right away, master! Let's get this done and hopefully move to a more pleasant area!" Whirlipede filled himself with Dark type energy, then started to roll after his foe as fast as he could, doing his best to ignore his injuries from his previous bout with a wandering spirit.

A hollow laughter followed Venom's demand and he got a blown a raspberry in his ear as response before it finally showed itself right in front of him. A giggle followed when it got a reaction out of him and it began to fade away, probably to try tease and poke him in some other way when it was invisible again. Halfway, so that it was still visible but very much see through, it stopped as Whirlipede materialized and complained about the ghosts. Plaaaayyy? Another breath in the air followed by, shoooooow and the area darkened as Whirlipede set into motion. Ghostly figures appeared on each side of the rolling bug, moving as if he rolled through the areas which was shown. It was a forest, probably Ilex, but with all the trees cut down and with woodcutters walking about working, laughing, cutting. A man appeared right in front of Whirlipede and a tree fell down on him, and on the bug although he just rolled straight through it as it wasn't really there. A faint scream of fear and shadows began to creep after the working men, who tried to hit them with their axes and eventually ran. Dreeeeaammmm, lingered in the air as the mirage switched to happy workers enjoyed lunch with their families among the cut down trees. Goooooneeee, this time the words was dripping with hate, bodies of the men and children lay among tall trees where evil eyes were glaring. A cold feeling of fear spread, fear for the forest, fear of being trapped within its boundaries of what hated you, panic which lingered on the edge of wickedness. Whirlipede spun faster and left the ground, the moment his dark powers connected with the ghost it broke all the illusions and the forest turned back to a normal gloomy rain soaked miserable place, but a normal forest at least. The duskull had been fully materialized by it again and it moved its head a bit back and forth, getting its eye to move in between the sockets. No... It was more felt than heard, and Whirlipede's dark energy disappeared in a blink of an eye and he couldn't for the his remember how he had done it before. Needless to say, Venom wasn't too amused by this spirit's mannerisms in the slightest, jumping away from it and glaring in anger once it gave him a raspberry. "Jeez. Did the humans who invaded this forest have a child with them when they died, or were they really this immature?" Venom asked out loud in an annoyed tone, making sure that his voice was loud enough for the ghost to hear him. Even though he couldn't actually hurt it himself, the ninja wasn't frightened by the spirit at all. And frankly, said spirit was starting to get on his nerves. Venom kept his snake eyes locked on the annoying spirit through it all though, still able to see it perfectly clearly, no matter how see-through it became.
However, both his and Whirlipede's facial expressions softened as soon as the mirages began to take form all around them. At first, the poisonous pair weren't sure what to make of this, and simply looked in silence. But as they watched the various scenes play out before their eyes and listened to the words the spirit spoke along with those scenes, the Poison type trainer and Pokemon were starting to understand. Additionally, they could also feel the rage and sorrow that went along with those scenes and words as well. Naturally, it was a bit much to take in all at once, even for them. Once it was finally over, the two were left with even more questions than they had before, as they both eyed their ghostly foe with mixed emotions at this point.
Unfortunately, those questions were quickly overshadowed by yet another question that came directly from Whirlipede himself. "Uhhh...Master, I think I might be freaking out. What move did I just use again?" After hearing this question from his Pokemon, Venom's eyes locked onto the spirit again, as he quickly realized what must've happened. "Damn it. That must've been Disable. This won't work. Come back for now, Whirlipede!" The ninja called the Poison/Bug type back to his poke ball, knowing that his remaining moves wouldn't be much help against a Ghost type. With that, Venom put Whirlipede's poke ball away, then grabbed a new one from his bag.
But before tossing his next Pokemon of choice into the fray, Venom decided to try gathering some information, speaking to the spirit in a gentler tone of voice. "If I understand those visions you showed us correctly, then you and all those other people were attacked by something that lives in this forest. If I had to guess, I'd say you wandered into its territory and maybe even destroyed its home when you cut down all those trees. Either that, or whatever attacked you was trapped here, and you set it free when you started destroying the forest. And if something was trapped here, then judging by those visions, whoever did it probably had a good reason to do so. I can't ever completely forgive what you people did back then, but I'll make everything right in the here and now. Do you understand me?"
Venom finished his explanation, then questioned the spirit, waiting for an answer before he did anything else. Then, about three minutes later, Venom finally made use of the new poke ball in his hand, pressing the button on it and tossing it into the air. "If you were just a child when you died, then please forgive me for this! Skorupi, take over!" The red and white orb burst open, and the Scorpion Pokemon appeared on the battlefield, not expecting to be rained on as soon as she appeared from said orb. "Gah! Why is it so wet and cold out here, master?! And what's going on with that Pokemon?! It looks weird!" Skorupi gestured to the Duskull as she spoke, unaware that this particular Duskull was far more than it appeared to be.
As he listened to the sound of his Pokemon's voice, Venom refocused himself on the battle at hand, wiping some rainwater from his forehead before giving her a response. "There's quite a story there, Skorupi! And I'll tell ya all about it later! But right now, use your Feint Attack on the spirit!" Fortunately for Team Toxic, Skorupi also had a Dark type move that couldn't miss, and that was exactly the move that Venom called for. "Well, okay, master! I'll try to get this done quickly then!" Then Scorpion Pokemon put her little legs to work right away, crawling over to the tree that was closest to the Ghost type Pokemon. She then climbed up the tree until she was a little higher off the ground than the spirit was, and jumped off, heading straight for said spirit while also preparing to hit it with yet another super effective move.

Plllaaayyyyyyy The word echoed through the eerie forest. The tall pines that surrounded the area bobbed and swayed in the open breeze as though something was stalking through them. A strange, long black ghostly hand reached out through the towering trees and pushed past Venom and Skorupi in an instance. It would glide through them, surrounding them, and letting them feel the pain and anguish that burned inside of its grasp. Then, a low guttural growl rolled across the ground, growing louder with each passing second. Soon, the growl would be so loud that the ground underneath Venom itself would seem to shake entirely, all while the strange Duskull floated high above them with its whole form half-tilted to the side. Dreaaammmm The words echoed like a broken record. Several images flickered all around them at once. One image played in the forested area towards Venom’s left. A small child ran over to a large, burly man with a thick beard. The young boy had shaggy, reddish-blonde hair that fell in long curls all around his face. Though most of the child’s face remain obscured, the young boy’s rosy-red cheeks full of freckles seemed to shine like a bright light underneath his curls. The small child held up a small, poorly constructed wooden airplane that he had fastened from twigs and leaves. The burly man turned one eye and barked at the small child in a gruff tone, smacking the airplane out of the child’s hands. A woman appeared just off to the side with her arms outstretched and pulled the child into a tight hug when the child ran to her with tears streaming down his face. She yelled incoherent words at the burly man, hissing her anger and resentment for the way he had treated the child. Behind Venom another scene played out before them. Loud howls sounded all around the air, mixing with the other sounds of the other visions that played simultaneously around them. This vision had five men all working diligently on cutting down the trees. One man stood on a phone and chatted through the receiver. His face was angry, as his eyes narrowed down, and his lips scowled into a deep frown. He pulled the phone away from his ears and roared loud, incoherent but obvious obscenities into the receiver, before stomping around and throwing it onto the ground. Then, he would collapse and break into tears while a strange teddy bear floated above them and waved back and forth. Inconsolable in his grief, the man turned to a strange door that appeared before him and separated him from the other working men. He opened the door and disappeared as he ran off in an unforeseen destination. To Venom’s right, another image would play before them. This time the images were much stranger and more like a warning than anything else. The ground was painted in a deep crimson that seemed to soak through the earth itself. The bark of the trees swelled with a bright red substance at their base. This strange red color crawled up the sides of the trees in long, red streaks before suddenly blending with the trees usual greyish-brown barks. Several construction type vehicles and tools lay around the area, broken into bits and scattered about. A large skidder lay on its side. It’s grappling arm that was used to grab the large trunks of trees was broken off and tossed far off into the distance, and its wheels busted and deflated. The remnants of a Feller Buncher was scattered in so many disassembled parts that it was hard to tell how they all should be pieced back together. A small, strange form though completely unrecognizable now lay trapped and partially hidden underneath and upside-down shovel logger. Only a small hand stuck out, clinging onto a poorly constructed wooden airplane. Goooonnneeee! The voice echoed, causing all the visions to disappear as soon as a powerful blast of psychic energy would hit Skorupi dead on. The small poisonous scorpion managed to shake herself free of the worst effects of the Confusion, before turning around and rushing off after the levitating Duskull. She called out to the Duskull and pointed off in the distance with her tail, distracting the other Pokemon temporarily. As soon as Duskull turned around, she jumped up high enough to swipe at the Pokemon with her large tail. A thick black energy surrounded her tail and as soon as she made contact with the ghostly being, it would screech loudly before fading away entirely from the area, along with the strange darkness it held over the land. Gooonnneeeee the words echoed until they faded away completely. Wild Encounter Weather: Rain [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Duskull LV 17 HP 0% [0/39]
