With the Beedrill's fury cutter, Momo was knocked back, and somewhat taken by surprise. The beedrill had been incredibly passive for the last few minutes, and suddenly it came out swinging, hitting Momo where she had previously been struck by the poison sting. While the poison was no longer coursing through her veins, the spot was definitely still sore. "Momo, drink this!" Sara said, pulling a bottle of Super Potion out of her backpack. Momo stumbled over to Sara, being sure to avoid the beedrill as it floated ominously above the battlefield. Sara quickly applied the spray to Momo's wounds, and they healed rapidly before her eyes. Momo shook with vigor, ready to get back into this battle of attrition. "Nice!" Sara said, cheering Momo on. Sara pulled out another Sport Ball, and tossed it at the Beedrill!

Another throw, another lost sport ball. Sara took a moment of silence to honor the memory of the now 7 completely demolished sport balls which lay around the Beedrill. Most of the balls had been completely destroyed, through either the Beedrill just piercing them until they were destroyed, or the Beedrill being compressed down to the size of a pocket-monster, and then bursting out of the small ball by force. Momo was looking much better, and the elaborate battle dance which she had been participating in had served her well, she was now coated in a thick layer of mud, softening the blow of each attack which the beedrill attempted. "Well, lets keep trying then Momo!" Sara said, grabbing another sport ball from the collection she had been given, and tossing it towards the beedrill.

When not third time was the charm it is good that... eight time is the charm? Whatever it was which convinced the beedrill to give up, it might be sheer boredom or perhaps it had gotten a little impressed with Sara and Momo's resilience and patience, the end result was that it finally stayed inside the park ball. They wouldn't get much of a break though, as a caterpie was quick to crawl out and challenge Momo, claiming it was much stronger and better than the beedrill which they had just caught. If kept at the end of the BCC it will be added to Sara's PC. "Yess!" Sara cheered. The Sport Ball fell to the ground, and Sara picked it up. "I thought that I was going to have to go through all the sport balls we got!" Sara exclaimed, excited to have caught the Beedrill. Momo brayed with delight, happy to have helped provide the distraction so that her trainer could make quick work of capturing the pokemon. "Alright, now lets see if we can find anything cooler than a Beedrill before the end of this competition!" Sara said happily. She had hardly even gotten away from the starting point of the contest when she had run into the beedrill, she could barely imagine what other wonderful bug types could be in the park! "Alright Momo, lets see what else we can rustle up!" Sara said with a grin. Momo quickly leapt forward, excitedly trotting along as Sara followed in tow.
A few seconds later a caterpie appeared. Sara and Momo both shared a look of disappointment as they glanced to one another. "Alright Momo, you know what to do." The mudbray nodded, and got to work dancing. "No, no... Momo... We don't need to distract this one to capture..." Sara said, mournfully. The mudbray looked piteously upon its foe. A small pathetic looking catepillar pokemon. It seemed strong for its size, but most trainers knew that an unevolved bug type was not something to be too fearful of. Momo planted their feet firmly in the ground, and the pebbles around her started to quiver and quake, sliding towards each other.
Momo uses Rock Slide! (Will Running Shoes to use Rock Slide again if the first one misses/Caterpie survives)

Sara contemplated the small poison pokemon. It looked... unusual, that's for sure. But was it a contest winner? She looked down at the Sport Ball that she had managed to capture the Beedrill in, and then looked up at the Venepede which was in front of her now. "Well... It's worth a shot." She said, pulling out her reserves of Sport Balls. She grabbed one firmly and chucked it at the small poison bug that crawled in front of her. "Alright, it's time to dance Momo." Sara called out. Momo brayed with excitement, and leapt forward and started performing a beautiful pirouette.

(Words added to the egg.) As Sara tosses the ball, it hits the venipede. The pokemon is sucked into the ball by the red light. The ball wiggles back and forth only for the familiar ding to sound.

(Keeping the Venepede! Bye bye, beedrill! ;P)
Sara looked at the two sport balls, one with a beedrill, and one with a venepede. Per the rules of the Bug Catching Contest, you were only allowed to take one. On the one hand, she had spent over half of her pokeballs trying to capture the beedrill, but on the other hand, it implied the pokemon was unruly, which could be viewed negatively by the judges. The venepede accepted its fate rather quickly, which meant it might show better on the final podium when the pokemon were up for judging. "Alright Momo. I know we struggled to get the Beedrill, but maybe it was just meant to be wild." Sara said. Momo nodded, she could understand. The beedrill was fierce and independent, it didn't want to be trained, perhaps it had a life in the park already that it was satisfied with. The venepede accepted the capture quickly, and seemed ready for a life with a pokemon trainer.
Sara gently pressed the button on the front of the Sport Ball, opening it up. The Beedrill popped out and looked at Sara curiously. It had fought its hardest to prevent this fate, but Sara's persistence spoke to the Beedrill, and it had decided to see what Sara had in store for them. "Listen Beedrill... I think maybe you were meant to be free." Sara said to the beedrill. The beedrill looked at Sara for a few seconds, and Sara peeled the sticker from the roof of the inside of the Pokeball, deleting the registration for the pokemon. Sara watched dramatically, a tear forming in the corner of her eye.
Beedrill just floated there, staring at Sara. Sara glanced over to Momo, Momo glanced back, awkwardly. The beedrill just floated there. Sara took a step back, Momo took a step back. "Uh... You can go now Beedrill, be free." Sara said, flourishing her arms outward as if offering the world to the Beedrill. The beedrill just stared, as it had during their battle earlier. "Uh..." Sara said to Momo. Momo coughed softly. "Alright... bye beedrill!" Sara said, Momo politely bowed its head to the beedrill. "Alright lets get outta here!" Sara said, taking another awkward step backwards in sync with Momo before they both turned and sprinted away from the Beedrill.
As Sara and Momo ran away from the motionless Beedrill, once they had gotten out of eyesight, they paused to take a breather. "Man, that was a weird beedrill." Sara said to Momo. The mudbray simply looked back at her like "Yeah... ya think?" Just then, a tiny melody graced Sara's eardrum. "Whoa! What the heck!" Sara jumped backwards. A small kricketot approached the pair, it tilted its head and looked at Momo. Momo seemed to understand what the little bug was singing about. "Uhh, yeah, I don't think so. Momo, Rock Slide!" Sara shouted, pointing at the small bug. Momo looked at Sara with sympathy in her eyes. Sara stared at the Kricketot, confident that Momo would follow her command. <"Sorry little one"> Momo murmured.
Momo uses Rock Slide (2 times with Running Shoes if the first misses or Kricketot survives!)

The Kricketot had no chance before the rocks rained down on it and it was knocked out. Not long after a pretty pink bug came zooming in and sent the kricketot a disdainful glance. "Time to impress that trainer, I'm sorry Darling, but I'm going to take your place as her favorite!" She told Momo stuck-up Momo grew 2 levels to Level 24! She can learn Counter if she forgets another move!

Momo sneered at the Illumise's comment. There was simply no chance.. was there? She looked back at Sara for reassurance. Sara's eyes glossed over as she saw the new challenger. "Another common pokemon." Sara said dismissively. "Sorry bug, you're pretty, but this is a competition, and you don't look special or strong at all." Momo chuffed at that statement, and lowered her head. She knew where this was headed. Her hooves shuffled their way down into the dirt, melting it into mud around her hooves, and the pebbles in the ground started forming together into large rocks. The rocks sprung up, and Momo kicked them towards the Illumise.
Sara could barely stand to watch.

VICTORY!
Momo had to still be a bit upset, her aim wasn't as good as it could have been and the Illumise nimby dodge all the rocks and zipped past the ground type to try woo Sara. Had the Illumise been smart and used her charm it might have worked, if nothing else then to buy herself time to show off but instead she released a sweet scent which was very pleasant to smell. Then the next round of rocks took her own and left her unconscious on the ground. Momo won't learn anything for something that easy. Di you want her to learn Counter from the last level up?
