Aglaia hurried after Smokey and her eyes widened when she saw the shelmet, "that's a strange one!" "Noo! I have been hunting that forever! Why?! Why?!" Someone shouted and Aglaia glanced nervously at the bug maniac who stood close by and was pulling his hair out. Smokey was already facing it looked anything but impressed, in fact she yawned deeply which made the bug peek out from its closed shell. The sand started swirling again and everyone but the bug maniac got driven away, Aglaia covered her mouth with her sleeve and narrowed her eyes. "Sand Tomb Smokey, it looks tough," Aglaia ordered muffled and Smokey tried to focus her sand to whirl around the shelmet like she had done with the cutiefly. "You are all the same!" The muffled accusation came from the closed shell, "aggressive and violent, always choosing the confrontational way!"Smokey grinned, "well of course, how else should I show how great a battler I am?" A disdainfully snort came from the shell. (ooc: Smokey used Yawn and Sand Tomb, running shoes exhausted. This is going to be a tough battle  ) |

"So, do you have anything in store for me, some trick hidden inside your shell which is going to take me down? Or are you going to stay hidden there and hope I just go away?" Smokey called, while it probably was a bad tactic if she wanted an easy battle she was more interested in a challenging one in which she could really show off her skills.
She glanced at the bug maniac and frowned briefly, it wasn't fair he was swooning over this stupid bug when she was standing right here in all her glory.
"So what is so special about you?" Smokey asked snippy but got no answer, "since that silly man wails so much over you," she added to clarify but the shelmet was still quiet.
"Hellloooo?! I'm talking to you here! Do you really think it will work if you just ignore me? That will just make you a very easy target!" she snapped.
"Smokey, calm down," Aglaia said sternly and looked closer at the bug, it was up to something and its shell looked shinier and most of the sand seemed to bounce of it doing little damage.
Smokey stepped closer and prodded the shelmet which fell to its side, "Smokey!" the hippopotas exclaimed and laughed as she grabbed the sleeping shelmet in her mouth and tried to bite through the hard shell with little success.

"Hippo!" Smokey called to Aglaia and looked at her expectantly but didn't get the praise for a job well done she had expected.
"It's, sleeping?" The girl said slowly and Smokey rolled her eyes, she was a bit slow this one wasn't she?
"Hippo, hippo!" She tried again and took several steps back to Aglaia.
"Smokey! What are you doing? We're not done here! Quick, bite it while you have the chance!" Aglaia urged and Smokey pouted annoyed but turned back and stomped back through the sandstorm to clomp her teeth down on the slumbering Shelmet.
"Don't hurt it too much! Please!" The bug maniac whined as she watched the onslaught of the defenseless shelmet. Or defenseless was probably not right as its shell was still closed entirely and would surely take the brunt of any force which was sent at it.
Aglaia glanced at him, "I have to beat it to win the battle, how would you do it?" She protested lightly and the bug maniac stared at her like she was crazy.
"You have put it to sleep! There is no better time throwing that ball than now!" He exclaimed and Aglaia frowned.

"See? Now its waking up! You lost the best chance you had!" The bug maniac complained and Aglaia shot him a quick glance and looked closer at the shelmet. "What?" She said confused as she saw no difference in how the shelmet looked a moment ago.
"Ugh, some people are just clueless, poor shelmet what a future you are going to have," the maniac mumbled but clearly meant for Aglaia to hear. She exhaled slowly and didn't say a thing, she wouldn't gain anything from arguing with him and with how he stuck around wanting to torture himself watching her battle his wanted pokemon, she knew she wouldn't gain anything either in asking him leaving.
"Bite it again Smokey, lets see if we can't finish this," Aglaia ordered calmly and the hippopotas snorted while the Bug maniac huffed.
"If you hit it too many times, you'll chase it away instead of catching it," he said icily.
"I'm not planning on catching it," Aglaia informed and a quick glance confirmed the maniac's mouth had fell open as he stared at her in shock.
"I hope you are enjoying your rest of your slumber, since I'm going to send you to somewhere much deeper!" Smokey bragged as she opened her mouth to bite down on the perhaps slumbering bug.

"You're.. You're not going to catch it?" The bug maniac said in disbelief, "But why?! It's the most supreme bug you can ever come across! Aren't you going to try win the competition?!"
"I already have the most supreme bug I could ever wish for," Aglaia said with a little smile as she thought of her beedrill, "and no, I'm not trying to win the competition as I already won it twice and gotten some pretty good bug pokemon from that. I'm here to help a friend who had signed up but wasn't able to participate, and she really wanted to give her hippopotas here a taste of what its all like," Aglaia explained and the bug maniac stared at her with an open mouth.
"You're kidding me," he said slowly and narrowed his eyes. Aglaia shrugged, "you can believe me or not, that's up to you."
"Look who's chosen to show its face!" Smokey laughed when the shelmet opened its shell to look rather groggily and flinched when the hippopotas chomped down on it. It staggered back shocked and then seemed to remember what was going on, but it was too late as the sand took the last of its energy and it collapsed on the ground.
Smokey snorted and stomped, and all the sand stopped abruptly and dropped to the ground making a crunch sound for each step the hippopotas took as she returned to Aglaia.
"Hippo!" She declared and lifted her head high in the expectation of the praise she was going to receive.
"That was great Smokey! You really have gotten control over your sandstorms," Aglaia with impressed and Smokey did a 'eh, that was nothing' tilt of her head, and looked hopefully at the bug maniac.
"If.. if you don't plan on catching it.. then.. you are sure you aren't going to catch it?" He asked and Aglaia confirmed was surprised when the bug maniac threw a sport ball at the shelmet and caught it.
"Yes! Yes! Finally! After all these years it is finally mine!" He exclaimed excitedly as he held the sport ball high over his head.
"I don't think you can win anything with that one," Aglaia said hesitantly, he hadn't battled it after all and wheren't you supposed to do such things on your own?
"I know, I know. I'm not participating to win the silly contest either, I'll just resign and take this one home with me," The maniac said and waved dismissevely at Aglaia as he set the course towards the entrance.
Aglaia looked around, "I think we'll soon run out of time," she thought aloud. "Potas!" Smokey called and rushed off again.
"Smokey! Get back here!" Aglaia called after her borrowed pokemon and cursed as she ran after, towards some nicely trimmed bushes which was lined up along the path leading around the park.
"Smokey! We're suppoed to work together! Stop running away from me like that," Aglaia scolded and Smokey looked guiltily at the ground, "po.." The hippopotas said quietly and pointed at the bush they stood beside and smiled tentatively to her trainer.

Just as Smokey pointed the bush shook a little and out stepped a proud looking karrablast, Aglaia's eyes widened in recognition as she had encountered, battled and caught this pokemon a few times in the earlier contests.
"A karrablast!" She exclaimed and Smokey had an impatient look on her face. "Hippo!" She challenged the bug loudly but waited for Aglaia to give her orders. If she wanted her appraise she couldn't go against her wishes and at least try to seem they worked together. It just took so long time and Smokey knew her tactic were the best anyway but not all humans understood that.
"Let's try to do this fast, give it a couple of bites," Aglaia said and Smokey grinned and opened up her mouth much wider than she had before as she charged at the Karrablast.

The biting was more than what the karrablast could handle and it clearly hadn't expected something like that. With so many fire types around it had stayed out of sight in the hope of finding someone to battle who would be a better (and easier) opponent and when Smokey had found it, it had thought she'd be little trouble to it. The only pokemon it had had to be aware of in the park was scythers and butterfrees, flying pokemon which could control the air, and Smokey clearly was earthbound. It stared shocked at the hippopotas as she acted like its attacks meant nothing to her. "Looks good!" Aglaia said pleasantly surprised, Smokey had really grown fast in this competition and it looked like the battle with the karrablast would be over soon, it was swaying and struggling to stay upright. "Another bite should do it," Aglaia said and Smokey snorted with disapproval and eyed the bug. She made a big deal of sitting down to wait, letting the sand do the rest of the work. Besides, Smokey knew she wasn't just biting anymore, it was much more powerful than that. (ooc: Waits for sandstorm to knock it out if move needed to be called, then yawn) |
