The lights in the tunnel flickered on and off sporadically. A few of the locals stopped what they were doing and glanced up towards the top of the tunnel with narrowed eyes. A few nodded and talked underneath their voice to each other, while others loudly complained how useless their electric company was. “They never take our issues seriously!” One man grumbled underneath his voice with a shrug, while glancing around as though he were waiting on something important. “Oh, whatever, Max. That’s because you keep threatening them when you call. ‘What are all my tax dollars paying for? Maybe we should have more competition, so you’ll do your job!’ Right?” Though, their voices could easily sound like mindless white noise to those that chose not to pay attention to it. Something moved down one of the long tunnels of Goldenrod’s underground network. The tunnel was so dark down this path that you wouldn’t even be able to see your nose on your face. Though, every couple of minutes, a bright burst of electricity lit up the tunnel and disappeared nearly as suddenly as it appeared. When the electricity sparked to life down this pathway, the lights along the main parts of the tunnel would flicker off and come back to life just as soon as the dark pathway’s electrical bursts dissipated. Something growled and two eyes stared aimlessly from the darkness. When Venom wandered too closely to the dark pathway, the round red-and-white ball would roll out of its hidden spot with a loud growl. “A worthy challenger who has come to lose valiantly against me!” It declared boastfully, shooting another blast of electricity from its body. The electrical pulses bounced against the ceiling, off one of the walls, and hit a strange metallic box. A small lock clung on only one side of the box and dangled, as though it had been pried open by someone through physical force (and possibly tools). The Voltorb ensured that it remained properly fixed between Venom and the box, while an electrician crawled out from behind a large dumpster near the entrance of the pathway, shaking in his boots. “Pl-please! Help me so I can get b-back to work! I don’t have Pokemon of my own!” He explained to Venom. Shiny? D9xf|Pj41-42 A(nother) Wild Voltorb appeared! Level 23. What will Venom do? 1-42

The purple-haired ninja truly didn't care for the big city and having to listen to the constant complaints of all the humans around him was definitely not helping. Still, he knew it would be pointless to even attempt to reason with any of them, mostly since life in Goldenrod City had been the way that it was for many years now. It would take a lot more than the opinions of a single trainer to change the minds of so many people, especially since that trainer only had two badges at the moment. So, Venom simply gritted his teeth and walked past them, doing his very best to ignore them. Not long after that, Venom arrived in a very dark tunnel, using his snake eyes to navigate his way through it. He doubted any Koffings would be lurking around in such utter darkness, but perhaps he'd have better luck on the other side.
Even without the sparks, growling, and glowing eyes, Venom could tell that something was lurking in the shadows and kept his guard up as he attempted to avoid it. Unfortunately, whatever it was, was looking for a fight. The Poison type trainer came to a complete stop as soon as a second wild Voltorb rolled out into his field of vision, as he listened to its words and noticed right away that this Voltorb had far more emotion than the last one he crossed paths with. Venom also jumped backwards when the Ball Pokemon started throwing off sparks, gritting his teeth once more. He may have been immune to poison, but electricity was another matter entirely. Just like before, Venom didn't wish to do battle against this Voltorb, but much like the previous one, he wasn't really given much of a choice.
"Very well then. I've already dealt with your kind once before. Once again, I take no pleasure in this, but if it's a fight you want, I'll be happy to oblige." The ninja declared, reaching for one of his Pokeballs, but then stopped as soon as he noticed the broken lock and the position of the Voltorb, as well as the lone man in need of assistance. It was all rather strange, and caused Venom to raise an eyebrow at it, as he took a moment to reevaluate the situation before proceeding. After a good two or three minutes of considering his options, Venom grabbed the Pokeball he was planning to grab before, deciding that the best course of action was to fulfill Voltorb's desire for a battle. "Let's get some answers, Ivysaur! I'm counting on you, my friend!" Venom tossed the Pokeball down between the wild Electric type and himself, and in a bright flash of light, his first Pokemon appeared.
Straight away, the Seed Pokemon had trouble seeing, so he used his Flash to brighten things up in this tunnel, the flower on his back giving off a brilliant light. "Who turned out the lights? And why does this place look so wrecked?" Ivysaur questioned, looking all around himself, until his eyes settled on his opponent. "Oh, I see. It's been a while since you've called on me, master. I have to admit, I was starting to feel left out." Ivysaur said with a grin, very happy to be back in action, as he awaited his trainer's orders. "I apologize, my friend, but the last few situations called for different skillsets than your own. However, I believe our current situation is perfect for you, and I'm happy to have you back on the team. Now, show me that you haven't gotten rusty. Use Sludge Bomb back-to-back!" With that, Ivysaur took aim and opened fire on the wild Ball Pokemon, not holding anything back. "You got it, master! Oh, how I've missed this!"

The voltorb laughed excitedly when Ivysaur emerged. Finally! Finally it was going to get a battle, it had been so long as it was about to explode with all the electric energy it had filled up inside it. There were more than enough electricity for a pokemon as voltorb to live on in a city like Goldenrod, it sometimes meant they were had too much and needed some way to get rid of some of it, and the most effective and quick way was through a battle. Unfortunately most of the humans down in the shopping tunnel weren't here to fight but to shop and wasn't interested in facing off the overly energetic shocking pokeball. It bounced up and down, unable to stand still, "come on! come on! come on! What are you waiting for?!" It shouted to Ivysaur as electricity flew everywhere. The poor electrician threw himself to the floor to avoid getting shocked, "please! There are so many of them around these parts, it makes it really hard to work!" Of course, they were also what gave him so much work when they kept frying the transformers and such, but they made it a pain to fix it. The voltorb screeched a horrible high pitched tone which got cut short of the sludge wave which crashed down over it. the electrician scrambled to his feet to get out of the way and avoid getting poisoned too! An electric beam shot out from the sludge and into the side of Ivysuar but he barely felt it and simple buried the voltorb in more sludge. Bolt of electricity blasted out of the pile but soon became fewer and finally stopped entirely. The electrician got to his feet and peeked out from half behind a wall to see if it was safe to get out. "That's one way to do it!" He said surprised when he saw how the electric pokemon had been handled, "thank you so much! I was really in trouble back there!" he said gratefully and offered a handshake to show his gratitude before he'd return to his work. Ivysaur gains (50*23) 1150 exp and grows to level 28! (1100/2437) He also gains +1 Happiness! (+8) (ooc: a bit of uncertainty of which two moves you uses here, since you mentions Flash used as well, but I assume it was just fluff. If its wrong for some reason let me know and I'll correct the post. Please add a note of which moves you are using in the battle, if you mention others in your post ^^ )

Much like Nidoking's earlier battle against the previous Voltorb, the Ball Pokemon's attacks barely even fazed Ivysaur, as the Seed Pokemon quickly counterattacked. Unfortunately for Voltorb, Ivysaur's attacks proved to be far more effective, dealing more than enough damage to knock the energetic Electric type out cold. Ivysaur felt himself grow stronger after that, smiling a big smile as he kept his Flash going, continuing to bring light to the dark tunnel. "Same as ever. All bark and no bite." Ivysaur proudly declared, but also wished that he could battle a stronger opponent at some point in the future. Fortunately for him, Venom had some stronger opponents in mind for later. But, for the moment, he praised his Pokemon for a job well done, and remained focused on the task at hand. "All in good time, Ivysaur. For now, let's just get out of this dark tunnel and keep looking for a Koffing. I doubt we'll find any hanging around here." Being that it was so dark in this part of the underground, the Poison type trainer knew that most wild Pokemon would likely have moved on to a different area by now. Probably one with more light, so they could actually see where they were going. And speaking of going, that's exactly what Venom and Ivysaur were about to do, using Ivysaur's Flash to light their way out of the dark tunnel. However, both trainer and Pokemon came to a stop as soon as they heard the electrician's voice, turning to face him afterward. The poisonous pair heard him out, then watched as he offered Venom a handshake, which the ninja was quick to turn down. "Think nothing of it. However, if these Voltorb really are such a problem down here, then I suggest you bring some Ground type Pokemon down here with you whenever possible. Defeating one or two in battle won't solve anything. The Voltorb aren't going anywhere. This is their home. So, to them, we're the intruders. Try to remember that." After giving the electrician some rather blunt advice, Venom and Ivysaur proceeded to walk past him and leave the dark tunnel. Once they returned to an area of the underground where the lights were actually working, they continued their search for a Koffing, still determined to find one and add it to Team Toxic. As they walked through the tunnels, Venom sniffed their air all around him, searching for even the smallest whiff of poisonous gases in the air. OOC: Got it. Thanks, Tarlar. I'll be sure to keep that in mind moving forward.

Some wild pokemon would surely have moved to another more safe area, but probably mostly because there were a strong trainer with some frightening strong pokemon in the area, against which they knew they had no chance at all. Ivysaur's flash earlier had also revealed that there were no pokemon hiding in this area either, and the air smelled surprisingly fresh and clean for being down in a small tunnel, so there certainly were no koffings around either. The worker stopped abruptly when Venom talked to him and he eagerly turned around to answer his question, it seemed like he had no problem at all with getting a bit longer break before he returned to whatever task he was working on. "Ah, yes, great idea. I have thought about it, and you know, I don't really have time to train one. Work and all you see," he excused himself, not everyone had time to focus on training pokemon beside what else they were doing. "Beside, Missy at home wouldn't like to get a ground type indoors, they tend to be messy with their sands or mud and she likes to keep things clean. I can handle a bit of electricity at work to keep her happy," he said with a grin and winked to Venom. He smiled to the poison specialist, he had helped him after all, "If you're looking for a koffing, you should try near the fast food place, they always have a lot of trash which attracts pokemon," he offered and then added with a grin, "Or Mr. Baker's diner, he always burns the food."Venom wouldn't get to go far, only a few steps afterwards before a green dog came running and barking down the path towards them. "AAAAAAHH!!" The worker screamed and jumped behind Venom and clung to his arm, "IT'S ATTACKING ME! HELP!" He shouted practically into the trainer's ears. The electrike wagged its tail and made a playbow while looking hopefully at them. Seemed like there perhaps was another reason the worker didn't have pokemon of his own. Venom didn't care for the first few sentences that the worker said to him, and pretty much just ignored him as he made his way out of the dark tunnel with Ivysaur by his side. However, upon hearing the word "Koffing" escape his lips, Venom stopped for a moment, as Ivysaur did the same, and they both listened to the electrician's advice. Even though Venom was a Poison type specialist, he was far more used to searching for Pokemon in nature. As a result, searching for them in the hustle and bustle of the big city was proving to be a real challenge for the ninja. So, even though he disliked talking to humans for any reason, this information was still appreciated. "I see. I'll be sure to keep all of that in mind. Thank you."
With that, Venom turned to face the worker one last time, giving him a bow of gratitude before turning back around and walking alongside his Ivysaur, continuing their advance out of the dark tunnel. Once they finally came back into the light, Ivysaur stopped using Flash, and glanced up at Venom as they walked. "Not that I'm not grateful, but are you sure we can trust that human's word, master?" Having already given it some thought, the ninja was quick to respond, glancing down at his friend as he spoke. "If nothing else, it's at least worth a try, Ivysaur. The way I see it, the worst that can happen is we don't find a Koffing at the locations he told us about and our search takes a bit longer. Besides, if the last few battles are any indication, I think we're the strongest trainer and Pokemon down here right now."
The purple-haired trainer noted, noticing that most of the wild Pokemon in the area fled upon seeing Ivysaur, able to sense right away that he was far stronger than any of them. However, the peace and quiet that the poisonous pair were experiencing was short lived, as they both flinched upon hearing a rather sudden loud scream of terror. Once they turned around, both Venom and Ivysaur gained facial expressions of exasperation upon seeing the electrician being chased by a lone Electrike, which wasn't even the slightest bit aggressive towards him. After taking about thirty seconds to look down at the Lightning Pokemon and take this all in, Venom pulled his arm away from the worker and spoke to him in a rather cold tone. "How annoying. You've got to be kidding me. If a playful Electrike is enough to scare you, then maybe you should find a job that doesn't have any contact with Pokemon at all."
As much as they wanted to just move on, forget about the worker, and continue their search for a Koffing, it looked as though the Electrike wouldn't let them until they played with it, so to speak. "Want me to handle this one too, master? Just say the word." Ivysaur asked after letting out a sigh, already aiming the flower on his back at the wild Electric type. However, Venom had other plans, grabbing a familiar Great Ball from his bag, pressing the button, and throwing it towards the Electrike. "Thanks, Ivysaur, but I think this one could still use a little training. You're up again, Nidoking! Let's go!" The Drill Pokemon appeared with a loud stomp of his mighty feet, looking down at his new opponent with a confident grin upon his face.
"Another Electric type? What's that thing humans say about stuff like this? I'm like a kid in a candy store down here!" Nidoking stomped his feet on the ground a few more times out of pure joy, causing said ground to shake a little as a result. The Poison type trainer was glad to see that his friend was happy, but still wanted to get this over with quickly, wasting absolutely no time in calling out his commands. "Let's finish this one off just like we did with that Voltorb, Nidoking! Use Bulldoze! And if this Electrike still hasn't given up after one, then use another one!" Venom figured that one would be enough, but he wanted to make absolutely sure, so as to waste as little time as possible on this battle. "You got it, master! I'll shake it up good!" Still very excited and energetic, Nidoking stomped his huge feet on the ground even harder, creating a shockwave that shook the entire tunnel, but was most violent in the area where Electrike stood.

The worker’s eyes were so wide that they looked like saucer pans as he clung to Venom’s back. Every time that the energetic canine lowered its body in a playful stance and wagged its tail. A few sparks shot out from the electric canine’s thick fur, though the electrical pulses weren’t enough to harm a fly. It would try to run around behind Venom to chase after the worker as though it was one big, elaborate game. However, as soon as the small green dog rushed closer, the electrician took off and climbed up onto a large dumpster, where he used his boots to kick at the grounded dog nervously. “Please leaavee me alooneee! I’m not trying to huurtt yooouu!” The electrician turned and scoffed at Venom’s comments. “Playful?! Look at this bloodthirsty monster! It’s trying to attack me! Please hurry!”When Nidoking appeared, the energetic canine would immediately spin back around and growl warningly. “This is my future human! You have you own!” The pup called out. It clawed at the hard concrete ground, though its nails didn’t seem to make a dent into the unnatural earth underneath its paws. Sparks zipped across its fur, this time much larger and more menacing than the last sets of sparks it had unleashed. Before Nidoking could think or react, the wild canine rushed towards the massive rhinoceros and slammed its entire body into Nidoking’s stomach. Being so much smaller and frailer, though, it would just bounce off with barely a scratch left on its opponent’s body. “I saw the way it was playing in the electric boxes those humans make! This human is just perfect for me! Keep your human and don’t try to take mine!”The electrician’s wide eyes stared worriedly at the Electrike as it yipped loudly and jumped all around. “What’s going on?! Why are you making it so angry?! Please just get rid of ittttt!” He whined. As soon as Nidoking stomped his feet on the ground, large shockwaves surged through the concrete terrain and slammed into the small electric canine. The Electrike howled in pain and stumbled about, shaking its head and it stood bravely in between Nidoking and the electrician. “I won’t…give up…on my future…trainer…” Then eventually, collapsed into a snoozing heap, whimpering loudly in its sleep. The electrician would very slowly…and very nervously…climb down from the dumpster's lid and hurry far away from the Electrike. “Thank you for all your help!” He grovelled before Venom, obviously overflowing with gratitude for Venom’s help in stopping the ‘menace’. SUCCESS!!
Nidoking gained 900 EXP. 50*18: 900 Nidoking increased to 1768/2269 EXP.

Even though they had achieved victory yet again, Team Toxic just looked disheartened, staring down at the unconscious, whimpering Electric type. Nidoking was happy that he had managed to gain some experience, but none of them said a word, falling silent for a good five minutes. After that, Venom walked over to the wild Electrike, knelt down in front of it, grabbed a single potion from his bag, and sprayed it with said potion. "Even after all their cruelty and thoughtlessness, you'd still go so far as to fight a battle you must've known you had no hope of winning just to be with one of them? Electrike, I'm sorry, but if you're so intent on doing this, then you should know that this human isn't the one for a kind Pokemon such as yourself. This potion should help you recover from your injuries, and once you wake up, be sure to find a human that's at least half as kind as you are."
Venom spoke to the Lightning Pokemon in a gentle and understanding tone of voice, putting the empty potion back into his bag to dispose of later, rather than create more litter in the tunnel. He then gave Electrike a few gentle strokes on its head and side, knowing that it wouldn't be easy to find such a kindhearted human in a place like this, but since it was what this wild Pokemon wanted more than anything, he wished it the best of luck. After that, the Poison type trainer picked Electrike up in his arms and carried it over to the side of the tunnel, where it could rest and regain its strength more safely. Ivysaur and Nidoking watched this, smiling at their trainer as they did, hoping that their fellow Pokemon will be fortunate enough to find a human partner as nice as they did. "I'm sure your tenacity will be rewarded, little one." Ivysaur commented in a tone that almost exactly matched Venom's, but the wrath came almost immediately afterward.
Once Electrike was taken care of, Venom turned towards the electrician, but his facial expression had changed into one of rage. The ninja grabbed the human by his shirt, pulled him back up to his feet, and glared right into his eyes as he spoke, his eyes changing into the eyes of a serpent in the process. "Never. Appear. Before. Me. Again. Got it?" The tone of Venom's voice should've said it all. He was definitely not happy, and if he ever saw this human ever again, he doubted he'd be able to hold himself back. Venom then let go of the electrician and pushed him away, continuing to glare at him as he waited for him to disappear from his sight. If he thought that Electrike was a menace, he hadn't seen anything yet, but he definitely would if he chose to stick around for another minute.
Once the other human was gone, Nidoking stomped his foot on the ground once more, yelling at the electrician as he beat a hasty retreat. "Yeah, you'd better run!" The Drill Pokemon also used his tail to fling some debris at the human as he ran off, but only as a final warning that turning around would be a bad idea. With that, Venom took a deep breath, calmed down, and got his smile back as he faced his Pokemon companions. "Thanks for everything as always, you two. C'mon. Let's continue our search for a new friend." Venom called Ivysaur and Nidoking back to their respective Pokeballs, put them back into his bag, then continued on his way down a new tunnel, heading for the locations the electrician suggested to him. Despite his earlier fit of rage, Venom was feeling good at this point, still looking forward to finally locating a wild Koffing.

The electrician’s eyes widened as Venom grabbed him forcibly by the collar of his shirt. What was wrong with this strange man?! Why was he suddenly so violent towards him, when the electrician hadn’t seemed to do anything at all to Venom?! Immediately, the flustered guy shoved both of his hands in the front pockets on his denim jeans and floundered around until he managed to pull his cell phone out of them. “Let…let me go…let me go! Or I’m calling the cops!” He whined at the top of his voice as his hands shook. They shook so violently, in fact, that the electrician’s phone slipped right out of them and tumbled to the ground. When Venom released him, the scared guy fell on his hands and feet and stumbled about until he was able to recover his phone. Then he high tailed it out of there as fast as his legs could move. Something else watched Venom from the shadows with a sly smile that covered its large, round face from one end to the other. What a kind and noble human he was! This was the sort of behavior that this particular wild Pokemon hadn’t witnessed too often – and that it hoped it wouldn’t witness ever again! The tunnels were known for the thugs and street low lives that loved to lurk down their dark passageways and sneak around between the shops. They were the easiest to manipulate and their tears tasted the saltiest of them all when the gaseous Pokemon had its fill of fun for one evening. But this? This human didn’t belong among the ruffage. This was going to be delightful to say the least! So the strange Pokemon shifted its appearance into that of a young girl with long, curly blonde hair that spilled down her back and onto the floor underfoot. ‘She’ walked out from the dark, hidden spot where she lurked with large eyes that watered and a frown that seemed to stretch a mile long across her face. “MY DOLLIE! MY DOLLIE I CAN’T SEEM TO FIND MY DOLLIE!” ‘She’ cried at the top of her lungs. ‘She’ pointed towards the tallest and possibly the heaviest dumpster there was as she ran over to Venom and would try to tug on his shirt. “Mister…mister! Please help me get my dollie! I think it’s under there! But I can’t quite push that thingie outta the way!!” If Venom offered to help, Gastly would wait until his back was turned and fire a nasty ball of dark energy at him to try to steal his soul. If Venom refused or even figured him out too soon, then he would shift back into his usual form to try to still fire the dark energy at him. Question was…would Venom’s beloved companions jump in the way to protect him in time? A Wild Gastly Appeared! Level 22. What will Venom and his team do? Shiny? wz58MKf21-421-42

Venom merely let out a huff as he watched the electrician run off in fear, completely unafraid of his threat to call the police. In fact, as Venom walked down the tunnel and continued his search for a Koffing, he had already completely forgotten about said threat. As for why he was suddenly so angry, it was simple really. Anyone who mistreated Pokemon in his presence was definitely no friend of his. All the wild Electrike wanted was a trainer and a friend, but the electrician treated it like it was some kind of monster. Utterly unforgivable as far as the Poison type trainer was concerned.
Venom did regret not becoming the Electrike's trainer himself, but his decision to only train Poison type Pokemon and show their true power to the entire world had to stand firm. However, those thoughts got pushed aside as soon as the ninja sensed the presence of a foe he knew very well. Unfortunately, it wasn't the floating, Poison type gaseous Pokemon he was hoping to encounter, but Venom knew that if he didn't do anything, his stalker would likely become a bigger problem later on. Still, Venom acted like he hadn't noticed it yet and just continued on his way down the tunnel. He knew that if he made a move too soon, the wild Gastly would have the upper hand. Luckily, after fighting off so many Ghost types in the Ilex Forest, and one more immediately after arriving in the Goldenrod Tunnel, Venom knew the scent and aura of the Gas Pokemon without fail.
Then, after about five minutes of playing dumb and waiting for the wild Gastly to make a move, the ninja turned as soon as he heard the sounds of a little girl's cries. He waited patiently for the "little girl" to finish speaking, maintaining a calm and composed facial expression through it all. Once "she" was finally done, Venom slowly grabbed a Pokeball from his bag, pressed the button on it, and offered up a response. "You'd be better off trying this cheap trick on someone who's more likely to fall for it. Sorry, Gastly, but it's you who's fallen into my trap. Go, Crobat!" As soon as he finished speaking, Venom tossed his Pokeball up into the air, and out came a very rare and powerful Bat Pokemon.
"It's been a while since you've called on me, master. This place...actually feels kind of right." Crobat stated as he flew around the tunnel they were in, feeling sort of at home in it. This didn't surprise Venom at all, since a good number of Poison types also called these tunnels home. "Yes. Once you get past the disrespectful humans that regularly visit these tunnels, I have to admit, it is rather nice I suppose. Anyway, as much as I'd like to let you explore said tunnels, we have a fight on our hands, Crobat."
Completely calm and unafraid of the Ghost type Pokemon that was targeting him, Venom jumped away from the disguised Gastly, then pointed at it, giving Crobat his orders. "That may look like a little girl, but it's actually a wild Gastly in disguise! So, how about showing it why trying to fool us was a mistake?! Use Bite, and don't let up!" Trusting in his trainer's words, Crobat narrowed his eyes at the "little girl", then flew straight down at "her" with his fangs bared and ready to strike. "How dare you try to steal my master's soul! Now I'll enjoy devouring your life force!"

'The girl' gasped and tears began to run down 'her' cheeks as Venom refused to fall for 'her' trick and help, "but.. but my dollie?" 'She' asked, unwilling to give up on the illusion just yet. "Trap?" 'She' added and did sound like a scared little girl and 'she' took a few steps backwards from him, fearful of what he had planned. A couple of other trainers further down the tunnel paused to watch with a frown at what to them really looked like a young girl who was getting threatened by an adult, which could end awry. One of them plucked a pokeball and readied themselves to intervene if Venom should try anything. They tensed and watched intently when Venom called out Crobat and the 'girl' ducked and looked confused and frightened. 'The girl' took a few steps forward raising her hands beggingly while Venom was distracted by his bat, if it just got close enough it could still get a taste... 'She' slowly reached a hand out for him, it stretched a bit longer than usual. Venom jumped away and Crobat dived, the 'girl's' face contorted and 'she' jumped back. HEY! One of the trainer shouted and the two began running towards Venom, they slowed down and stared at the 'girl' who was now floating in the air, pointing an accusing finger at Crobat. Shadows blasted from 'her' hand but Crobat easily dodged and was over 'her' in a second and broke both the illusion and the gastly as he bit down on it. The ghost screamed and pulled itself loose before it disappeared straight into the ceiling. Crobat gains (22*50) 1100 exp! (1518/2269)

Even as he stared into the "little girl's" tear-filled eyes, Venom didn't waver, perfectly maintaining his composure. He knew what the presence of a Gastly felt like extremely well, having dealt with this particular Pokemon many times in the past few days. This Gastly's plan was doomed to fail before it even put said plan into effect, though the Gas Pokemon had no way of knowing that until it was already too late. Of course, being the Pokemon-loving person that he was, Venom would've been more than happy to simply let the Gastly fly off and leave the area unharmed. It was the Ghost/Poison type that refused to give up, and that stubbornness would ultimately lead to its own undoing. But again, it had no way of knowing that.
However, one thing that Venom hadn't predicted was the possible interference of all the onlookers who were currently giving him the stink look. It was then that the ninja finally realized how this must've looked to everyone around him and let out an exasperated sigh. "Oh great." Venom said to himself in a sarcastic tone, then reached for a second Pokeball from his bag. The Pokeball in question belonged to Salandit, and if it came to this, Venom was fully prepared to call her out, and have her use her Poison Gas attack to give Team Toxic the opportunity they needed to escape from this situation. Naturally, Venom didn't want it to come to that though, knowing that all the wild Pokemon in the area would likely be badly poisoned as a result. He didn't care what became of all the humans in the area though. Not one bit.
The Poison type trainer did momentarily look away from the battle when he heard the sounds of a fellow trainer yelling at him, followed by footsteps closing in on him fast. But Crobat was much faster than any human, sinking his sharp fangs into the Gas Pokemon's ghostly body and revealing its true form for all to see. "Phew. Glad you were right about that, master, or that could've gotten ugly. I thought only Zorua and Zoroark had the Illusion ability though." Crobat stated after breathing a sigh of relief, glad that nothing bad happened to his trainer, as he continued to flap his wings and fly around the inside of the tunnel. The ninja was relieved too, really not wanting to deal with any more pesky humans right now, as he placed Salandit's Pokeball back into his bag and did the same with Crobat's, after calling the Bat Pokemon back to it. "Yes, I agree. Thank you, Crobat. Still, it's not like these humans would've posed much of a threat to us." With that, Venom continued on his way down the tunnel, walking right past the humans who had planned to attack him, completely ignoring their existence as he did.

The trainer's seemed rather awkward as Venom walked past and when he ignored them completely they were relieved. They weren't sure if he had been aware of their actions but would have been ready to defend themselves verbally but they didn't have to do that. When he had passed them he would hear them begin to discuss the gastly and how it would be to have on a team if it had such.. abilities as they had just seen. Had he been a cop he might have paid it some interest in why they were interested in a pokemon who was pretty good with illusions. The tunnel didn't really change in looks as he continued, it was different kind of shops but they had the same worn down look to them and the shoppers down here all looked a bit sketchy. He'd pass several other trainers who were busy battling it out with each other, which meant he was free to continue his search without any interruptions from that part. He was yet again not going to find what he wanted, although what found him, or rather revealed itself to him, hoped it had found what it had been looking for. The gastly slowly materialized in the dark shadows beside a shop selling greasy pizzas, and its grin grew a bit in size when Venom surely would notice it more or less right away, where more or less any other trainer would have walked past without noticing it. It had watched a couple of his battles by now, and it had seen what pokemon, and their typing he had on his team, and how strong they were. Perhaps it could impress him and convince him to bring it along, oh, to see the world outside, to have a kind trainer and to be strong like them! Life couldn't be better and Venom surely looked to be all it hoped for. It looked challenging at him but didn't say a word, it should be easy for him to understand what it wanted anyway. Gastly [Lv 24] approaches hopefully. Shiny: b|AO|nKg1-42(ooc: seems like you are a gastly magnet! But it is also a poison type after all) 1-42

As Venom walked past the other trainers, he was able to overhear at least some of the things they said, but quickly dismissed everything he heard. Admittedly, yes, Gastly was a very useful Pokemon by any means. Especially with its potential to evolve into Haunter, then eventually Gengar. One of the most feared and powerful Poison type Pokemon of them all. Venom knew very well that having a Gengar on Team Toxic would likely come in handy many times, but that would go against Venom's overall objective, unfortunately. The goal of Team Toxic is to show the world the true power of Poison type Pokemon, since Poison types are rather unloved by most trainers.
However, Gengar wasn't like most other Poison types. It was already beloved by the majority of trainers in this world. Ergo, putting a Gastly, Haunter, or Gengar on Team Toxic would defeat the purpose of Team Toxic entirely. In short, Gengar didn't need the help, so the Poison type trainer dismissed the Shadow Pokemon almost right away. There was a chance that this would turn out to be a mistake later on, but Venom believed in the Poison type Pokemon he had already chosen for Team Toxic and had absolutely no intention of changing his mind or his team anytime soon. And if he was being honest, he was starting to get tired of all the attention he was getting from the wild Ghost types of Johto.
The ninja paid no mind to the shops, other trainers, and various other sights and sounds that he passed on his quest to locate and capture a Koffing. Until said quest was complete, Venom maintained a strong one-track mind. That is, until the scent of pizza assaulted his nostrils, causing him to look up and turn in the direction of the pizza shop. Even though he was on a mission, and this probably wasn't the most reputable pizza shop in the world, Venom was only human, and all this walking around had left him feeling rather hungry. So, after thinking about it for about three minutes, Venom decided that taking a little snack break couldn't hurt. But then, as he approached the pizza shop, he felt an all too familiar presence and let out an exasperated sigh.
"Urgh...You've got to be kidding me." The purple-haired trainer said to himself, then turned and watched yet another Gastly appear from the shadows before him. At first, Venom raised his guard and reached for Crobat's Dusk Ball from his bag, but he quickly stopped and gained a softer facial expression, as he stared into the wild Gastly's eyes. Even without words, the ninja could tell exactly what this Gas Pokemon was thinking. It clearly wasn't like the others, who only saw Venom as another potential soul for them to feast upon. This Gastly wanted more out of life, or maybe death, since it was a Ghost type and all. Either way, it caused Venom to pause for a few minutes and rethink his actions.
Even though he hadn't planned on adding a Gastly to Team Toxic's ranks, but it might not have been the worst thing in the world to capture one just in case. "Hmmm...Okay, since you seem to be smarter and more capable than your fellow Gastlys, I'll make you a little deal. Withstand one attack from my Crobat, and you can tag along with us. Don't worry. It won't be super effective. Crobat, go!" Venom tossed Crobat's Dusk Ball into the air and sent the Bat Pokemon out into the open air once again. Upon seeing another wild Gastly, Crobat looked rather surprised at first, but was able to maintain his composure. "Another Gastly? I thought this Pokemon was supposed to be rare down here."
Venom had thought that as well, but for whatever reason, he seemed to be a magnet for wild Gastlys today. The Poison type trainer didn't think this moment would ever come, but for his next wild encounter, he hoped he'd be a bit less lucky. Still, he was a man of his word, grabbing an empty Great Ball from his bag as he gave Crobat his orders. "This Gastly has potential, Crobat, so let's go a little easier on this one and see if it can take it. Use Wing Attack!" Never one to question his trainer's orders, Crobat channeled energy into his wings, then flew straight at the latest Gastly, hitting the floating ball of gas right in the face with his left wing. "Let's see what you've got, Gastly!" All the while, Venom kept his eyes narrowed on Gastly, ready to throw the red, white, and blue orb in his hand if it withstood Crobat's Wing Attack.
OOC: Ya know, between the four sixes I recently got in the Hi-Lo Game recently and this, I should be happy that I'm getting so lucky. However, I really hope my next encounter is just a bit less lucky. And if this Gastly still has some HP left after this attack, Venom will use a Great Ball on it.

The gastly withdrew a little bit when Venom tensed up and grabbed a pokeball, it was going to be now or never but what was he sending out against it? Would it be something it had a chance against? Would it give it the time it needed to show how Venom what it could do and impress him? It would love nothing more than to leave this place, the harsh realities which could be tough even for a ghost and travel with a strong trainer who could bring it to new heights. Its eyes widened when Venom spoke of the deal he was offering it and slowly a grin spread on its face so that it looked as wicked as any other gastly. It didn't try anything funny though but simply waited for Crobat to be called out and be ready. It eyed the big bat thoughtfully as it hadn't seen many of that species, if any at all and didn't really know what it could do. It was sure Crobat was going to be frighteningly strong since Venom asked it to just survive one attack, and that in itself would be enough to impress him. Perhaps it was going to be impossible to handle? It made up its mind, it was the best chance it had ever gotten, but Crobat was on top of it before it got a chance to react. The bat either had trouble holding back, was just too strong or perhaps the gastly was too inexperienced to defend itself but the wing cut straight through the gastly and it instantly began to dissolve. A mixture of shock and sadness rushed over the ghost face as it realized it had failed, Venom would never accept it on his team now, not when it was so weak it had no chance of keeping up with his other pokemon. Suddenly other shadows bursted from the wall and ghostly hands grabbed the gastly while other wicked eyes and grines danced around, a manically laughter was heard as the defeated ghost got dragged screaming into the wall and out of sight. Crobat attempted but got a Critical hit and gains (50*24) 1200 exp and grows to level 28! (449/2437)! He's at maximum happiness (ooc: not sure if it was a lucky crit or not this time )
