Feeling happy and filled to the brim with life after capturing a Seviper, Venom finally took his first steps into the hustle and bustle of the big city known as Goldenrod. This was his first visit to such a big city, so it was rather daunting for someone who spent most of his life in the wilderness. Nevertheless, Venom was far too excited to let anyone, or anything ruin his good mood, as he walked confidently through the city streets. Seviper was definitely a great addition to Team Toxic by all accounts, but the ninja wasn't done recruiting just yet. Most people might not expect wild Pokemon to roam around the inside of a city, especially one as big as Goldenrod, but Venom wasn't like most people. He knew that Goldenrod City had more to offer by way of Poison type Pokemon. Much more.
However, like true Poison types, they lived down below the busy and densely populated city streets and called the seedy underbelly of this metropolis their home. Of course, Venom knew that even the underground held a good number of humans inside its walls, and there was a good chance that at least half of them were troublemaking thugs. But if it meant adding a few new Poison type Pokemon to his team, Venom was more than willing to face any challenge. No matter how unpleasant it may be. So, after a quick trip to the local Pokemon Center to get his current team prepared, the ninja found the closest entrance to the underground he could and descended into the depths. The further he got from the surface, the quieter and smellier it got, but these were two things that Venom actually enjoyed. Especially since the strongest scents drifting through the air came from wild Poison types.
The purple-haired trainer kept his cool, as he reached the bottom of the stairs and took a look around. Just like he thought, there were some rather sketchy trainers hanging around, a few shops open for business, and trash everywhere. However, this was actually a very good sign, as several Poison type Pokemon's diets consisted almost entirely of trash. Not at all bothered by the smell, Venom began to walk down the underground passageways, searching for any and all wild Poison types he could find. As he walked, he did his best to keep his distance from the other trainers as well. It wasn't because he was intimidated by them at all. Rather, it was because Venom didn't wish to waste his time or his good mood getting into a skirmish with any of the unsavory characters he saw.
OOC: During his stop at the Pokemon Center, Venom used his TM98 Bulldoze on his Nidoking, teaching him that move and having him forget Horn Attack as a result. Thanks.

Trash and scattered debris littered the belly of the underground. Makeshift shops popped up on set up stands along the sides of the tunnel, with small seats pressed against their edges. Some trainers that wandered into the belly of the beast would pop down on the small cushions and study the wares being pressed to them by the patrons of these ‘fine establishments’, while others simply shook their heads when the shop keeps called out to them to try and position them a possible sale. Off in the darkest corners of the underground were trainers that fought and struggled against a couple of thugs in a makeshift gauntlet, with each being worse than the last. The lights of the gauntlet flickered as something seemed to float from one place to the next with an echoed laugh. While some of the wandering trainers stopped with widened eyes full of worry and concern, the shop keeps just shrugged and murmured something about pesky Pokemon or faulty wiring. Two large eyes floated near the roof of the underground tunnel, ducking underneath large steel pipes that crossed this way and that. When the flickered again, the eyes would disappear as easily as they appeared. “Gassss!” A voice echoed, though it seemed to come from all directions with no discernable location. When Venominon wandered just out of reach of the other trainers, the strange voice would float down from the rafters above and take shape. It formed itself into a small black gaseous orb that floated around the ninja with mild curiosity. “ssslllyyyy” It challenged Venom, questioning weather he was strong enough to face it with one of his own Pokemon. Was this trainer just some poor, unfortunate soul that had gotten himself lost in the underground? Or was he someone that knew he way around the sketchiest parts of the underground and had a true purpose for being here? It was curious to see what the ninja may hide within plain sight by wandering through the ‘belly of the beast’. A Wild Gastly appeared! Level 23. What will Venom and his team do? Shiny? _T_y4jVi1-421-42

Ordinarily, Venom would've been appalled by the large amounts of trash he saw all over the ground, but this wasn't some forest, beach, or any form of wilderness at all. Rather, it was part of a big city constructed by humans. And frankly, Venom didn't really care if humans chose to keep their settlements dirty or not, as long as it didn't disturb the Pokemon that lived there. Fortunately, in this particular case, all the trash was actually helpful for the wild Pokemon that lived here, which was something that made the Poison type trainer happy. That said, he still did his best to avoid stepping in any filth, as he continued to explore the Goldenrod Tunnel. Some shop owners tried to get his attention as he walked past their shops, but the ninja just ignored them and kept walking.
One thing that did catch his attention though was the gauntlet he saw, stopping to observe some of the battles for a moment. Even though it was taking place in such an unsavory location, Venom could tell just by looking at the Pokemon of the trainers running the gauntlet that this was quite the challenge. And since it was, the prizes waiting at the end must've been well worth the effort. Growing intrigued, the ninja made a mental note of this location, and planned to come back and try his luck once his work was complete. After all, it couldn't hurt, right? But before doing anything else, Venom remained focused on the task at hand, which was to find and capture some new Poison type Pokemon for Team Toxic.
Fortunately for him, with such a dense population of Poison types around here, he didn't have to wait long for one to appear before him. With so many ghostly encounters still fresh in his mind after his adventures in the Ilex Forest, Venom knew the presence of a Ghost type Pokemon when he felt it all too well. He could tell that he was being watched, narrowing his eyes and raising his guard, as he waited for his first subterranean foe to show itself. Naturally, Venom wasn't startled or surprised at all when the wild Gastly appeared before him. And even though it was a Poison type, the purple-haired trainer was kind of Gastly'd out after battling so many of them back in the Ilex Forest. As a result, he didn't go into Poison type fanboy mode, but he could definitely see that this Gastly was at a higher level than the ones he had encountered in Johto's biggest forest.
"Well now, this is certainly unexpected. I came here looking for Poison types, but I never imagined I'd encounter the rarest Pokemon in the area so soon." The Poison type trainer said to himself, keeping his gaze locked on the wild Gas Pokemon as he reached for a Pokeball from his bag. "So, you wish to battle us, do you? Very well then. We'll take you on. Skorupi, you're up!" Venom tossed the Pokeball down in front of Gastly, and out came a small but strong Scorpion Pokemon. "Huh? Where are we now, master? This place smells funny." Skorupi couldn't help commenting on all the new sights and scents around her, having never been in such a place before in her life.
Still, as a Poison type herself, Skorupi wasn't too bothered by the scents she was breathing in. And having faced so many Ghost type Pokemon back in the Ilex Forest, Gastly didn't scare her at all either. "I know it's strange, Skorupi, but we have to endure it if we're going to make some more new friends. Unfortunately, as rare as this Gastly is, it's not what we're looking for. Even so, it asked us for a battle, and it would be rude to just walk away. So, why don't we show this Gastly what happened to all the evil spirits that used to haunt the Ilex Forest? Use Feint Attack! Two shots!" With her orders given, Skorupi put her game face on, quickly crawling up one of the walls of the tunnel and onto the ceiling, getting directly above her opponent. "Just leave it to me, master! This is nothing compared to that Gengar and Spiritomb we fought!" Once she was in position, she let go of the ceiling, and descended upon her foe, dealing back-to-back strikes with her tail.

The gaseous orb slowly revolved around the like-colored trainer with a mild tilt for every foot travelled. Once three quarters of the way round, roughly when its challenge was accepted and a combatant produced, it was upside down. Not that it changed much about the way the ghost type appeared besides the slant of its eager gaze and point of its teeth. The color palette of its company seemed to tickle the Gastly. It cackled, pleased, and swooped up to the ceiling. One could swear the flickering haze emanating from its ethereal bod drew together at a point that looked something like a hand as it reached to pet the poison skorpion. Not affectionately. The devious twinkle in its eyes would betray the intent of its proximity. As the two met their gazes a suffocating bond ensnared Skorupi for but a second then faded, leaving the shelled bug feeling somehow... detached from Venom and gravitated toward the ghost. What such a thing meant would ultimately not matter. Despite whatever trickery the mischievous wild pokémon had just imposed upon her would never have a chance to come to fruition as her flurry came. As fast as the ball of gas was to retreat it clearly hadn't expected her to just fall. This gave her the perfect opening. Her two-pronged tail whipped through the ball of darkness, connecting with something solid, then expertly swung round for a second strike before Gastly could react. The ghost dispersed promptly and quietly into the air. VICTORY!

Even in her dazed state, Skorupi was still able to carry out Venom's orders and win the battle. Still, this dazed state would likely prevent her from landing softly on the ground below. A fact which the ninja quickly clued into, as he dashed for his beloved Scorpion Pokemon, and managed to catch her in his arms. Once Skorupi was safe, Venom breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at her. "Phew...A little shaky at the end there, but otherwise, you did great, Skorupi. I can see that you got stronger too. Very good. I'm proud of you."
The Poison/Bug type looked up at her trainer as he spoke to her, unable to stop herself from blushing at both his praise and the fact that she was being held in his arms for the first time since she hatched from her egg. "Uhhh...Thank you, master. It was nothing. Really. Now, shouldn't you get back to searching for new friends and teammates for us?" Skorupi tried to change the subject, hoping to go back to her Pokeball and take the time to calm down and regain her composure. Fortunately, her words did this trick, as Venom called her back to her Pokeball and put it back into his bag for the time being. "Yes, of course. Take a break for now, Skorupi. I may need your help again later." Once that was done, the Poison type trainer once again faced the path ahead of him, refocusing himself on the mission at hand.
As rare and strong as Gastly is, it simply wasn't the Poison type Pokemon that Venom was looking for. In fact, Gastly is actually rarer than the Pokemon Venom had come to find. So, as the ninja ventured further into the underground tunnel, he hoped that he'd get a little less lucky with his next encounter. As strange as it may have seemed to others, Venom was after two Pokemon that were more common than the Gas Pokemon. Be that as it may, these two were the Pokemon that Venom needed on Team Toxic. Given their unique attributes and skills, both of these Pokemon would prove to be invaluable in Venom's quest to show the world the true power of Poison type Pokemon.

The shopkeepers continued on about their normal routines with wide smiles covering their jaws. Some were even whistling and singing underneath their breath! They may not have known that the ninja helped solve their woes by defeating the Gastly and eventually chasing it back off from whence it came, but they were happy for the good fortunes that it brought for them. “Hey boy! Need a new outfit? Looking at your current one, maybe it’s time for a style change?” One shopkeeper called out and pointed to some snazzy looking denim jeans who may have just jumped off the cover of the latest fashion magazine. “Or just come over here to do your laundry! My Pokemon’ll have ya all cleaned up in no time!” Another called, pointing to their makeshift store with two washers and two dryers in total that they were calling a ‘laundromat’. “Ugh! NO! NOW, GET!” Someone screamed from behind a back alleyway. The sounds of something banging around could be heard, though it was difficult to tell what the sound might have been. It was possible that someone was really clumsy and kept dropping things everywhere. But it was more probable that someone was kicking the concrete ground underfoot for some strange reason. Should Venom run to investigate this strange sound, he would come face-to-face to the strangest looking Grimer he might have ever seen (at least for Johto) and a long, curly haired teenager. “I don’t want to be your trainer! You can’t make me capture you, and you’re not worth my time!” The trainer scoffed. He turned away from the strange looking Grimer to see Venom and quickly rushed towards the other trainer with a strange smug look. “Look man, can you beat the sense out of this useless Pokemon? It’s just desperate for someone to battle it…but my Pokemon are all left back home. And I would never take such a pathetic Pokemon on me team.” He huffed firmly, crossing his arms over his chest. Said Grimer just turned with a strange, happy-go-lucky grin from the curly-haired teenager to Venom with a questioning look. Shiny? xF4Ip5Rt1-42 A Wild Alolan Grimer appeared! Level 19. What will Venom do? With Venom's 3rd trial completed, he definitely qualifies for 40% Alolan chance over 35%. Dice roll was 38/100 followed by 3/3. 1-42

As Venom walked past the various shops and services, he didn't pay them much mind, as his mind was mostly focused on locating and capturing wild Poison types. However, he did at least glance at the shop owners who called out to him and gave them a basic response as he walked by. "Thank you, but I'm fine." The ninja was unaware that the Gastly he dispatched earlier had been causing trouble for the shop owners, but even if he did, it didn't really matter to him in the end. Ghost Pokemon messed with humans and other Pokemon all the time, and another would likely start causing trouble again at some point in the future. Fortunately, their pranks were harmless for the most part, so Venom decided to simply chalk it up to being part of the natural order.
Not long after that, the sounds of banging and shouting caught Venom's attention, causing him to turn in the direction of the noises he was hearing. After narrowing his eyes, the ninja decided to check it out, running into the alleyway that the sounds were coming from. Upon arriving in said alleyway, Venom's eyes went from narrow to wide in a split second, as a small gasp escaped his lips as well. Despite the other human's presence, as well as his constant shouting, Venom completely ignored the other trainer. Or to be more specific, the purple-haired trainer was far too focused on the wild Pokemon before him to really even notice the other human's presence. Even when the other trainer approached Venom and spoke to him, the Poison type trainer paid him absolutely no mind at all.
Then, after a full minute of silence, Venom smiled, rushed right over to the Alolan Grimer with sparkles in his eyes, and openly admired the wild Sludge Pokemon. "Yes! A Grimer! And one from the Alola region no less! It seems luck was on my side this time! Just look at you! I've never seen an Alolan Grimer in person before! You truly are a sight to behold! I'd love to welcome you into Team Toxic!" Unlike the other trainer, who outright rejected the Alolan Grimer, Venom welcomed this Pokemon into his team with open arms. As luck would have it, this was exactly one of the Poison type Pokemon Venom was looking for from the moment he arrived in the Goldenrod Tunnel. The ninja had big plans in mind for this rarity and wasn't shy about sharing them with his new potential friend and teammate, even in front of the very trainer who called it pathetic.
"I apologize if I startled you at all, but Team Toxic could really use your help, Grimer. You don't know it yet, but you're the very Pokemon we need to help us defeat the gym leader of this city, Whitney, and win our third badge." Venom spoke in a friendly tone and meant every word that he said to the Sludge Pokemon, no matter how much the other human probably thought that he was kidding. The Poison type trainer had done his homework on Whitney and her Pokemon, and after hours of planning strategies in his head, he came to the conclusion that an Alolan Grimer was the perfect Poison type Pokemon to take on Whitney's Miltank. But before any of that, he had to capture this Alolan Grimer, of course. So, after getting back on his feet and taking a few steps back from the wild Pokemon, Venom grabbed a Pokeball from his bag and pressed the button on it.
"First thing's first, show us your power, Grimer! This will be your opponent! Go, Croagunk!" Venom tossed the Pokemon at the ground in front of the Grimer, and out came a fellow Poison type, expanding his cheeks as he breathed and looked over his new opponent. "I've never seen a Grimer like you before. My master seems to think that you're stronger than a normal Grimer. Show me that you are." The Toxic Mouth Pokemon readied himself for battle, as Venom gave him his first set of orders for said battle. "Let's start off with Flatter, then right into Rock Slide!" Even though he wished to see its power, Venom still wanted to capture this Grimer as well. So, using too much force was out of the question. After paying Grimer some complements to both flatter and confuse it, Croagunk slammed his fist on the ground, causing several large rocks to appear directly above the Sludge Pokemon and fall right on top of it.

The trainer pointed at the grimer with a disgusted look, and his mouth fell open when he heard what Venom had to say about it. "What?! You want that stink pile?" He asked in disbelief and looked closer at the grimer, but only for a moment before he gagged and turned away. He sent Venom a look that clearly said he thought this trainer was crazy, "must be to keep everyone away, or a hate gift to someone!" He huffed to himself as he turned and stomped down the path. At least he didn't have to worry about it anymore and the shops in the tunnel were probably going to be happy to be free from it. The grimer wobbled gleefully at Venom's praise and then looked around curiously, "what's a team toxic? And why are you welcoming me there?" It asked innocently and looked around to see if it could see this team thing, but it saw nothing but the already well known tunnel which it had lived in for quite some time. It didn't seem bothered at all by the comments the other trainer had about it, and it looked kindly at Venom for a long time before it slowly lightened up. "You.. you need me? You want to take me on your team?!" It asked excitedly, "what do you need me to do?!""Hii!" The grimer greeted Croagunk cheerfully and then looked puzzled at it, "why? He says he needs me! I'm going to get a trainer!" It said excitedly and began to look confused when they kept giving it mixed signals of both wanting to have it to join and wanting to battle it. "Wait wait wait!" It said and shook arms and head so much that sludge was flung from it and slapped onto Croagunk and on the ground. "Why would you need to battle me if you already say I'm strong and need me?"Then the rocks began to fall from out of nowhere and shocked and confused the poor grimer even more. "Wait wait wait! What is going on? What's happening?" It screamed out of its mind as it slid around in an attempt to dodge them. It walked straight smack into one of the first rocks which had hit the ground and then got squished by another which fell straight on top of it, sending more sludge flying in all directions, although Croagunk wasn't even close to be hit this time. If anything was disgusting around here, it was the words that came from the other trainer's mouth. At least, that's how Venom felt when he finally snapped out of his Poison type fanboy mode, heard the other trainer's words, then glanced at him with a facial expression of disgust himself. Then, just as the other trainer turned and started to walk away, Venom eyed an empty soda can that someone had left on the ground about a foot away from where he stood. After that, once again making full use of his skills as a ninja, Venom kicked the can with so much force that it shot across the underground tunnel like a Buziel using Aqua Jet, until it hit the other trainer right in the back of his head with enough force to cause him to fall forward and land flat on his face. Venom didn't feel even the slightest bit concerned about the other trainer's well-being. In fact, he proceeded to defend the wild Alolan Grimer's honor immediately after the other trainer hit the ground.
"You are horribly ignorant and rude! First of all, the foul stench you're smelling must be all the trash around here, because Alolan Grimer doesn't emit any odors at all! Unlike its Kantonian cousins, Alolan Grimer both produces and stores its toxins within its own body! Thus, preventing any foul smells from leaking out! And for the record, I find even Kantonian Grimer to have a rather pleasant aroma, and I won't have you or anyone else belittling them for their own natural aspects!" Venom yelled at the down trainer with plenty of anger and passion in his voice, not at all caring about who else may or may not be listening. As a Poison type trainer, Venom was never bothered by the foul stenches that came from certain Poison type Pokemon. In fact, he actually liked them.
"And secondly, this Grimer is going to be the Pokemon that will defeat Whitney's Miltank! Mark my words!" Venom's declaration echoed through the underground tunnels, and there wasn't even a single hint of doubt in his voice as he shouted. After that, Venom took a deep breath to calm himself back down, then turned back towards the wild Sludge Pokemon, and got his smile back as he answered said Pokemon's questions. "Sorry about that. I'll explain everything later, but the short version is that Team Toxic is what my Pokemon and I call ourselves, since I only capture and train Poison type Pokemon like yourself. And yes, we do need you, Grimer. This might sound like a tall order, but you're going to help us defeat the gym leader of this city. A girl named Whitney, and her strongest Pokemon, Miltank."
Anyone who overheard the ninja explain his plan to the wild Grimer would probably think that he was insane, but he was 100% serious, as he spoke to said Grimer in a friendly tone of voice, with a smile on his face to match. Grimer didn't know it yet, but Venom had a plan in mind to defeat Whitney and her Miltank. And for this plan to work, only one Pokemon would do. Grimer. Or more specifically, an Alolan Grimer. Of course, like all of the new additions to Team Toxic, this Grimer would have to be trained up a bit before challenging Whitney to a battle. With all of that in mind, Venom was confident that his plan would work, having complete and total faith in each and every one of his Pokemon companions. Naturally, Venom felt bad about having to battle and weaken the Grimer before catching it, especially since it was already so eager to join Team Toxic, but given how Pokeballs worked, he didn't really have much of a choice in the matter.
As for Croagunk, he was almost completely unfazed by Grimer's attack, shrugging it off before watching the Sludge Pokemon struggle with a combination of confusion and falling rocks. "Master, are you sure we need this one to help us defeat Whitney? If she only uses Normal types, then aren't I the best choice to deal with them?" The Poison/Fighting type glanced at his master and questioned him, rather underwhelmed with Grimer's performance in battle after the first round. "We've been over this, Croagunk. Even though Fighting types have the advantage over Normal types, Whitney's Pokemon are all female and make use of the move Attract. And as a male, that's no good for you. You can be in the next gym battle. I promise." Venom answered his Pokemon, as he reached for a Great Ball from his bag and got ready to throw it at the confused Poison/Dark type. "As for you, Grimer, welcome to Team Toxic!" Venom hurled the Great Ball straight at the Alolan Grimer, hitting it right on top of its head, and watching as it got pulled inside the blue and white sphere.

The young man yelled at the top of his lungs as something struck him in the back of his head. He reached up instinctively and touched his head to feel around and make sure he wasn’t too badly damaged. Something wet and sticky clung to his fingertips and when he pulled his hands back to stare at them, he grimaced at what he saw. What sort of crazy person would try to hit another person like that?! Sure, the tunnels were known to be a dangerous affair full of all sorts of thugs just waiting to prove themselves – mostly within the gauntlet that ran rampant here. “Ah!” He flopped about on the ground and struggled to get back up on his feet. “WHO HIT ME?!” The stranger demanded angrily and raised his hand to point accusingly at…well, everyone in the room, really. “If it isn’t the Grimer causing all that stinking smell then it must be a hideous trainer who can’t help but collect all those stinky poison types causing the smell!” Of course, the trainer would amble along in a hurry especially if Venom proved to want to continue on his dangerously aggressive tirades muttering about the apparent lack of Officer Jennys and the like and how a few phone calls could fix that… Alolan Grimer, however, seemed to blossom as it stretched itself up long and tall. “Did you just defend my honor?!” It asked them excitedly, pressing its hands together underneath its ‘chin’ or where you’d expect a chin to be, while trying its best to ‘bat’ its eyes. “I really can’t figure you out but…thanks! I love a trainer who defends a poor, harmless Pokemon like myself!” Grimer turned and listened to Venom’s conviction with all of its attention. When Venom promised that it would be the one to defeat Whitney, it shrank back into a small blob and nearly pressed itself against the ground while humming underneath its voice. Could it defeat Whitney? Could it make its future trainer THAT proud?! Especially her Miltank…of all Pokemon?! “I’ll do my best, if you’ll have me!” The Alolan Grimer promised, stretching itself back out promptly into its normal form. It waved its arms all about and seemed to wave at Venom as if beckoning him to try and catch it. “Didn’t you just hear our trainer’s words?! Our ‘master’ said I was going to be the one to defeat Whitney, and I can’t let my future trainer down!” Alolan Grimer swore firmly. When Venom tossed the ball, the neon green blob would stretch itself out and allow the bright red light to swallow it up inside of the contraption. It rolled on the ground only a couple of times, before dinging with success. Chance? (99%) N8irtrJR1-100 SUCCESS!! Croagunk gained 950 EXP. 50*19: 950 Croagunk increased to 2350/2107 EXP! Venom continued to glare at the other trainer as he picked himself up off the ground and questioned who hit him but refused to answer him. As much as the ninja hated the words that he shouted out after getting back on his feet, he had better things to do than deal with some random street punk at this particular moment. Like capturing some new Poison type Pokemon for Team Toxic and training all of his Pokemon for their future battle against Whitney for example. Fortunately for Venom, in spite of all the shouting he had done himself just a few short minutes ago, the other trainer seemed to have no idea that he was the one who kicked the can at him. So, as much as Venom would've enjoyed showing him the true power of Poison types, he stayed quiet and made no further moves against the rude trainer. As soon as he was out of sight, Venom turned back towards the Alolan Grimer just in time to see it stretch it's body out and thank him for standing up for it. Upon seeing this and hearing the words that came from the Sludge Pokemon, Venom's facial expression grew softer, as he smiled and bowed at said Sludge Pokemon. "Indeed, I did. You're very welcome, Grimer. Humans like that one couldn't be more wrong if they tried. Every Pokemon has strengths and weaknesses. There's no such thing as a useless Pokemon." The purple-haired trainer knew that better than anyone, speaking in a friendly tone with even more conviction mixed in as well. He had seen the proof time and time again. No matter how small and seemingly weak a Pokemon was, it still held great potential in its own unique way. Venom then stood up straight and looked down at Grimer again, but then lost his smile when he saw the Poison/Dark type shrink in size, and instantly knew how it was feeling from the expression on its face. "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you, Grimer. Naturally, we'll all be doing a lot of training before we challenge Whitney to a gym battle. Trust me. By the time we finally do challenge Whitney, you'll be much stronger than you are now." Venom made a promise of his own to the Sludge Pokemon, then he and Croagunk watched as the Great Ball completed the capture and transported itself to Venom's PC, but not before Venom got a look at Grimer's stats with his PokeDex. "Not bad, but definitely not ready to take Whitney's Miltank on just yet. We'll get there though. Thank you, Croagunk. That was perfectly executed, my friend. I'm happy to see that you gained another level from this encounter as well." The ninja got his smile back after that, bowing in gratitude to the Toxic Mouth Pokemon, who immediately turned to face him and did the same before responding, his cheeks expanding and contracting as he spoke. "Think nothing of it, master. You know I'm always up for a good fight. I just hope my next opponent has more fight in them than this one did. Speaking of which, who's the other Poison type Pokemon we're looking for down here again?" Given all the times he talked about various Poison type Pokemon, Venom wasn't all that surprised to find out that Croagunk couldn't recall the exact Poison type they were still looking for. "One of the only Poison types with the Levitate ability. The perfect defense against Ground type moves. The Poison Gas Pokemon, Koffing." As Venom answered his companion, the very thought of finding and capturing the third and final Poison type they came to Goldenrod City for got him all kinds of excited. "Very well then. Hopefully a Koffing will give me more of a challenge. Feel free to call on me again once you find one, master." With that, Croagunk returned to his Poke Ball, and Venom continued search the Goldenrod Tunnel for any and all signs of the final Poison type Pokemon he was looking for. OOC: I see. The part of the tunnel they were in were full of puddles of sludge, a clear sign of poison type pokemon but probably not the one Venom was looking for as Koffing wasn't known for spewing sludge but gasses. "Stupid grimers," a shop assistant grumbled as he looked at the mess in front of the store he worked at, "they say they are so great to have here and that they eat all the trash, but like, what does it help when they leave all this stinking goo instead? And who's job is it to clean it? Yeah, who else than me! Ugh!" He shuddered and he began to try mop it but only smeared the sludge out. "This is not what I'm hired for, I have an education!" he continued to complain to himself and gagged at the stench. The sludge puddles thinned out and became less as they moved away from where they had encountered the grimer, other workers were cleaning the tunnel, removing sludge and litter which shoppers had dropped. Suddenly a flash of light happened inside a store and then it went black. Shouting was heard and soon a voltorb rolled out of the electronics store with some cores wrapped around its body. A couple of shop assistance stopped in the door after having chased it out, waving their brooms at it. "Stay out!" The female one shouted at the round pokemon, whose expression was unreadable. "Do you think the tablets will survive?" The younger male assistant asked worriedly and the female glared one last time at the voltorb, "I hope so. Pluk them out and take them to the back, I'll handle the fuse box and get the light on again," she said as she snatched a paper sign and put in front of the door. Temporarily closed Seemed like it wasn't the first time that had happened. The voltorb had been watching the humans calmly and now the door was closed it shook the cords off it and then turned to face Venom. Its expression was as unreadable as before, but it was also hard showing emotions when you didn't really have any facial expressions. Voltorb [Lv 23] rolls out! Shiny: GMIOXI281-421-42

No one knew more about Poison type Pokemon than Venom did, so as he glanced down at the puddles of sludge, he knew right away that he wouldn't find a Koffing in this part of the underground tunnel. Unfortunately, even though Koffing left toxic gasses behind everywhere it went, the Goldenrod Tunnel was filled with so much garbage, that it was next to impossible for even the ninja's highly trained sense of smell to pick up the scent of those gasses. So, with no other choice, Venom continued to search for the Poison Gas Pokemon on foot. Particularly, areas that he hadn't yet visited. Perhaps equally as unfortunate was all the bad-mouthing Venom had to listen to as he ventured further into the underground tunnels. He could hear every single word the shopkeepers spoke as he walked by them, and needless to say, he didn't like what he heard one bit.
"It's either clean sludge or clean garbage. That's the deal here. Maybe this place was clean once, but not anymore. And that's not likely to change anytime soon. So, ask yourself, which would you rather clean up after? The Grimers who made the sludge? Or the people who dropped all that trash? At least the Grimers have a pleasant attitude, as long as you're pleasant to them in return, of course." Venom explained to the shopkeeper who complained about the sludge as he walked past them, shooting them a glare the whole time. The Poison type trainer moved on before they had a chance to respond though, but still made sure not to step in any sludge puddles as he made his way out of the area.
While it was true that Venom was immune to Poison himself, the other Pokemon that lived here that weren't Poison types themselves were still vulnerable to it. And while Venom didn't care for the safety and well-being of humans, especially the humans who hung out down here, he did care about the well-being of the wild Pokemon that called these tunnels home. And speaking of those wild Pokemon, Venom came to a stop once he saw a wild Voltorb being chased out of an electronics store, not liking this at all either. The ninja watched as the two humans went back into their shop and closed it up for the time being, then turned to face the Ball Pokemon just as it turned to face him. "It seems even though Pokemon have been living down here for years, humans still choose to clash with them, rather than find a way to coexist peacefully. How disappointing."
Venom let out a sigh after finishing his thought, but wasn't too surprised by any of this, as he had come to expect this sort of behavior from at least most of the human race. "I hope you know, Voltorb, I take no pleasure in this, but I'm afraid I'm in a bit of a hurry. So, Nidoking, I choose you!" Venom pulled out Nidoking's Great Ball, then tossed it down in front of the wild Electric type, figuring that he'd probably have to battle said Electric type before being able to proceed. After appearing from said Great Ball, Nidoking looked down at the lone Voltorb, and instantly felt good about his chances of winning this battle. "An Electric type? Well, it's about time. I'm ready, master. Just say the word." Venom gave his Pokemon a nod, followed by his commands for this battle. "Of course. Fortunately, your new move will come in very handy here. So, let's give it a trial run. Use Bulldoze back-to-back!" At Venom's command, the Drill Pokemon started to stomp his huge feet on the ground over and over again, causing the entire underground tunnel to shake violently.

The janitor kept steeping in his own stew as he cleaned away the muck that the Alolan Grimer left behind. He had worked hard for the educational degree he’d recently obtained and felt very bitter about the role he had in life. Even as he applied for better positions outside of janitorial duties, it didn’t seem as though anyone wanted to give him the break he needed in life. When Venominon spoke out on Grimer’s behalf, the Janitor stopped for a second to lean against his mop’s handle and listen. “Yeah?” He then continued mopping up the gunk on the ground and walls of the tunnel. “You know? I guess when you put it that way…you got a point, kid. I just…wanted more out of my life than this…” He huffed. The janitor would then disappear down a different tunnel with his cleaning supplies, left to think about what Venom had said to him. The Voltorb rolled across the ground with it strange lack of emotion stare as it watched Venominon call out his large and powerful horned rhinoceros. It created large sparks that shot up from its body and ricocheted off the walls and ceilings of the underground tunnels. The lights that were illuminated above their heads flickered dangerously as Voltorb’s electric strikes bounced off them. Strange looking yellow stars with sharp points spun in the air as Voltorb fired them at Nidoking with a loud growl. The stars would seem to barely cut the armored Drill Pokemon as they cut across Nidoking’s chest. When Nidoking rushed after the bright red-and-white ball shaped Pokemon, Voltorb tried to roll away as fast as it could. They were nearly the same in speed, though, and so Voltorb couldn’t roll very far. Nidoking stomped on the bottom of the tunnel’s floor and created long shock waves that traveled underground and slammed into the ball shaped Pokemon. It shrieked in pain and immediately rolled as far away as it could to get away from Nidoking and its powerful kicks. Some passersby had to stop and steady themselves as the shockwaves shook the ground underneath them and nearly caused them to stumble and fall. “What kind a lunatic caused that?!” One young girl’s voice shouted exasperated in the distance, though she would be hard to spot through the crowd. SUCCESS!!
Nidoking gained 1150 EXP. 50*23: 1150 Nidoking increased to 2975/2107 EXP!Nidoking gained 1 level. Nidoking increased to Level 27! Nidoking grew closer to Venom. +1 Nidoking increased to +11 Happiness!

The personal problems of humans didn't interest Venom in the least, so he just kept on walking down the tunnel, not saying another word to the janitor. Still, the ninja did hear what he said, and could tell right away that he was displeased with the role he had been given in life. However, Venom still had no sympathy for the human at all. For one thing, anyone who bad-mouthed Pokemon, especially Poison types, in Venom's presence was basically an enemy to him. And for another thing, somebody had to clean up all that slime, otherwise this tunnel would become a biohazard. And as far as Venom was concerned, if anyone should clean it up, it should be someone who clearly lacked the ambition or skills to actually do anything more with their lives.
"Hmph. He can quit anytime he wants, but unless he thinks he can make it as a Pokemon trainer, I suggest he stow the attitude and get cleaning. If he has time to complain, he has time to clean." The Poison type trainer said to himself as he continued to walk through the tunnel, knowing very well what would happen if no one bothered to clean up after the Grimers in this area. But he pushed those thoughts aside once he came upon the wild Voltorb, not even a little fazed by the Electric type's show of electrical force. Although, it did make Venom's hair stand up a little, which he was quick to fix. Nidoking was pretty much unfazed by Voltorb's attack as well, as the Swift attack bounced right off of his body, causing him almost no damage at all. This caused the Poison/Ground type to grin confidently down at the Ball Pokemon, showing far more emotion than said Ball Pokemon was.
"Is that the best you've got, little guy? Let me show you a real attack." With that, Nidoking's Bulldoze attack slammed into the wild Electric type, knocking it out, and knocking it right into another part of the tunnel as well. Once that was done, Nidoking leveled up, and Venom called him back to his Great Ball. "Splendid work, Nidoking. Your new attack works like a charm, but will it be enough for a stronger opponent?" The ninja wondered out loud, but simply shrugged before moving on. Before thinking too hard about taking on stronger opponents, he still had a job to do here. Find a Koffing, capture it, and increase Team Toxic's ranks by one more.
