Having putting off going to the SZ in HGSS I finally decided it was worth checking out for the first time and I have to say, they've definitely nailed the whole safari hunting vibe. I went and did that bleeding Geodude prerequisite for Boboa and now he said he's going to be phoning me in the near future for another test. One thing I am missing from past games is all these items and pokeballs littered around the premises.

The new Safari Zone is kind of neat. I've even exchanged Sarafi Zones with some of my other friends with their set-ups and got a few more rare Pokemon, like Manectric and Shinx. The new way of decorating is fun too (I'm a decorating whore), but I don't like how long it takes some Pokemon to appear. Maybe a week, two at most is long enough. But 70 days to catch a wild Riolu... argh.

Oh yeah, I saw you could exchange Safari Zones with friends. ;D That's definitely a neat feature. What are the odds they'll take out such an option in B/W? It's looking as if they've taken out the option of Pokemon following you in that game as well. *sigh* It's always a case of one step forward, and two steps back in some cases with every Pokemon game released.
I do agree with you on the wait being so mind numbingly long. Who the hell thought that was a good idea?! At that rate you could just find a place with WiFi access and get one off the GTS or find someone online who has it. Hell, even buy DPPt and catch one there.

But you have to admit... because of the Safari Zone and the Pokewalker, you can no doubt catch the most Pokemon in one single version than you could from any other. There's just so much packed into it!

I had the weirdest experience today in HG...
Checking out the Forest area in the Safari Zone, I ran around the grass to see if there was anything I wanted. A Misdreavus pops up, and my first thought; it's 4 pm - why is it appearing?
Then I looked at its level.
42
And no, that's not the lame "the answer to life is 42", that is the actual level of that Misdreavus. I thought my game was glitched! It ran away after trying to catch it, and I was like; "Oh well."
Nope, ran into her again. Failed to catch her, and shrugged it off. I ran into two more Misdreavus, both at Level 17. Now I'm just perplexed.
THEN SHE APPEARED AGAIN. I caught her, and yep, she's still Level 42. Wth!?

That's probably because of the items set out there. It can make some Pokemon reappear at different times of the day and at higher levels. I caught a Larvitar by about that level.
