The mankey growled and grabbed after Rattata, who ducked and darted around it to keep its attention. Suddenly Byg slammed into its back and the forced sent them rolling out of the dry spot and out into the rainy open, the rest of the pokemon, and Aglaia and Emilio scrambled to the edge and stared out into the darkness, scouting for the two battlers. It was hard to see what really happened, it was dark and it was raining lillipups and meowths out there, but from the sounds of it the battle raged on ferociously, "What's happening?" Emilio asked quietly and Aglaia looked worried, "I'm not sure, I can't really see anything," she glanced down at Emilio and added reassuringly, "but Byg is strong, I'm sure he can handle it just fine."
Out in the rain Byg tried to stay low and felt very exposed, it was clear his attacks didn't do much against this foe, it had seemed small and nothing more than other thing he had faced but this one was different. It was screaming and trashing around, slamming its hands on the ground and ready to charge at him the moment it found him, Byg felt very much alone. The mankey paused and listened, then it ran towards the crevice again and Byg raced after it, he got another blob of mud in the face but managed to lunge at the fighting type and pull it with him to the ground, rolled around and grabbed him off its back only to throw him through the air. He landed right outside the crevice where the others were watching, and needed a moment to collect himself.
"Watch out! It's coming!" Emilio shouted and stuck his hand into the rain as he pointed. Byg turned his head and he looked grimly at the mankey who was galloping towards him, its eyes red with fury. Emilio scrambled away and he was back at Aglaia's side before she got her eyes torn away form the battle in front of her, she looked puzzled at him, wondering what he was up to. He looked determined and like he had a plan in mind.

It was hard for Byg to see his opponent but the mankey made it easier for him by racing straight at him. He blinked through the rain and the mud in his eyes and hoped for the best as he lunged at it. He slammed into the fighting type and toppled it over, it struggled beneath him until it managed to get free and then it raced off, leaving him to look baffled after it.
"I.. I think its over," Aglaia said hesitantly and then got it confirmed as a bright white light shot through the darkness and spread through all the droplets getting broken into a myriad of colors. "Woah! What's happening?" Emilio gasped as he tried to see while also covering his eyes, "oh, is it already over?" He said disappointed a moment later and pouted. Aglaia bit her lip nervously, "I think we're going to see a much bigger spinarak in a moment," she said quietly and held her breath as something big did indeed move closer, Emilio grabbed Aglaia's arm with one of his hands and stepped closer, his grip was tight and matched her own tenseness. The poochyena growled and the other pokemon fell quiet, then a long thin leg stepped through the rain veil at the entrance, followed by another and Aglaia exhaled as byg stepped inside. "See? He was more than strong enough," Aglaia said with a smile, doing her best to hide her wariness. Emilio was completely obvious to her uncomfortableness as his mouth fell open, "That's Byg?!" He exclaimed, "wait? did that mean he evolved?! Woah! I have seen my first evolution!"
Byg was too big to be in the crevice now and as he clearly wanted to get out of the rain, Aglaia recalled him. Peace fell over the group and as the rain kept drumming drowsiness took over and Aglaia pulled some blankets from her bag so that they could get a bit of rest for the night. Emilio protested and claimed he wasn't tired at all, but he was snoring away shortly after.
(ooc: byg Evolves, he forgets String Shot to learn Sword Dance)
The weather next morning certainly wasn't better. Aglaia woke from laying and shaking from the chill and her teeth were clattering as she sat up, the blanket clearly hadn't been enough. Emilio had crawled close to her during the night, but he too was shaking although he tried to bury himself deep within the blankets and refuse to get up. The rain outside had been replaced by whirling snow but the storm was raging in, just much, much colder. "I'm not sure I have enough warm clothes," she mumbled as she struggled to get the firestarter kit from her back and get it to work, her stiff frozen fingers didn't want to work with her. "Dammit, why didn't I work earlier so I could get a fire starting before it got so stupidly cold!" She complained and after several tries she finally got a little fire going. Emilio crawled to her side still wrapped in the blankets and sat as close to the fire as she allowed. He didn't say anything, just stared dully into the fire and was shaking. Aglaia watched him worriedly as she fed the fires, hopefully he wouldn't be too sick from this. As the fires grew and warmth slowly spread, the pokemon crawled closer.

The blizzard howled through the skeletal firs, each gust a frigid claw scraping at Anthony's weathered face. His beard, a seasoned map of icy crystals, crackled as he hunched deeper into his weather-worn parka. Beside him, his Machop, a stout Fighting-type Pokemon, trudged stoically while behind them, his Geodude rolled along like a boulder pushed by the gale, its grunts swallowed by the storm. Anthony squinted, eyes stinging with snow, at the faint orange glow flickering through the frosted branches. A beacon of defiance against the storm's icy might. Hope, a fragile ember, kindled in his chest. He hadn't seen another soul for days, only the spectral pines and the whispering ghosts of winter. Now, a promise of life, of warmth, glimmered through the blizzard's veil. With renewed energy, he urged his Pokemon forward. The snow deepened, sucking at their legs like hungry hands. Machop grunted, its short legs pumping, while Geodude rolled with a newfound urgency. Finally, the trees parted, revealing a rocky alcove sunk into the side of a cliff. Within the crevice, two figures huddled beside a crackling bonfire, their silhouettes blurred by the wind-whipped snow. A young boy, shivering like a willow in a gale, clung to a girl whose face was etched with worry. Beside them, a menagerie of Pokemon huddled for warmth, their forms indistinct in the flickering firelight. Anthony approached cautiously, his boots crunching on the frosted crust. "Hullo there," he called out, his voice hoarse from the biting wind. "Seems we're all weather-beaten souls seeking a bit of respite." "I'm Anthony," he continued, gesturing to his steadfast companions. "And these are my Machop and Geodude. We couldn't help but notice your little haven here. Mind if we join the party?" Hiker Anthony appears looking for shelter from the blizzard! What will Aglaia do?

The warmth of the fire slowly spread in the crevice and Aglaia was glad that Emilio had known of this place. The rainstorm last night had been bad enough, but a snowstorm on top of that? She wasn't sure how well they would have handled that if they had been caught out in it. When they had a good fire going, Aglaia pulled out of pot from yesterday and filled it with snow, which she then put over the fires, when the water boiled she carefully poured it over in some mugs with teabags, Emilio was handed one of them. He wrinkled his nose but didn't complain and sat with the tea and sipped at it when it had cooled off a bit, grimacing each time but slowly his shaking stopped and he got some color in his cheeks. Aglaia breathed a sigh of relief.
A growling from the entrance alerted them, the poochyena had stayed away from the fire, eying it with wariness, now it was staring out into the snowstorm, its hackles raising and its teeth bared. Sinclair floated closer to the entrance and hung there as Aglaia held a protective hand in front of Emilio, who was more than happy to peek out from behind her. "Phew, it's just a human," she said relieved when Anthony called out to them, and his shape became more visible in the snow. "We're here! We're alright!" Emilio called out to Anthony eagerly, perhaps he had been sent to look for them? "Come on in, we have enough room for one more," Aglaia invited, "oh! But be careful around the poochyena, it's not tame yet!" she warned, as the pup's growling got louder now that Anthony seemed to want to enter its space. The pup was pressing itself up the side of the crevice and would surely bite anyone who got close to it. Emilio glanced at it but with childish excitement didn't see any problem with it. "It's mine! I just caught it! It's my first pokemon and it was a really fun battle! My rattata was really great and it did what I said! I'm a real trainer and I'm going to win all the badges and beat the Champion!" He told Anthony as soon as he stepped into the crevice.
"My apologies, he is a bit excited," Aglaia said with a light headshake, "my name is Aglaia, and I'm taking this kid to some of his family." "I don't need anybody to take me, I have three pokemon now!" Emilio bragged, "where you have only learn to work together with one of them," the female trainer said dryly and the kid chuckled embarrassed. "I'm Emilio, who are you?" He asked the newcomer and pointed at his pokemon, "They are so cool! Where did you get them?" "Tea?" Aglaia offered as she gestured to the pot on the fire.

"Nice to meetcha, Emilo and Aglaia," Hiker Anthony greeted, shaking hands if they were offered and sitting cross legged with the others. He rubbed his gloved hands together to try to bring feeling back into his fingertips. "Was makin' my way from the tunnel to Azalea for a supply restock and got caught in this here blizzard when it kicked up. How'd you two end up stuck in this?" He glanced out of their sheltered spot and watched the wind, hoping that it would slow down soon so that he could continue on his business. Then he heard the pooch growling and chuckled, "I don't mind none. Not every pokemon likes people who aren't their people, and poochyena are notoriously skittish. Been seein' a lotta kids with them pass through. Nice to see those pups find trainers that care about'em despite their reputation. The wild packs around here can get real aggressive though, so I always tell folks to be careful at night when they're hunting." Finally feeling his hands again, he relaxed a bit, smiling at the next question, "These two? Oh, they've been my travelin' buddies forever. See, I'm all the way from Kanto originally, and that's where I caught'em. But we go all over, hiking through caves and mountains. It's great. Even if ya sometimes get caught out in bad weather like this..." He noticed his pokemon looking restless. Machop started to punch a nearby rock. "Sorry bud, you're lookin' bored. Maybe you can try lifting those rocks a bit to pass the time? You and geodude enjoy seein' who is stronger. Hey, maybe even one of our new friends here has a pokemon who'd like to join in and lift some rocks too."
Hiker Anthony's [LV 11] Machop is lifting rocks. Will you join in or just wait out the storm?

Aglaia did offer to shake hands, that was the polite thing to do and seeing that she did Emilio wiped his hands on his pants and offered the hiker one as well. "Were you making a tunnel?!" Emilio exclaimed and stared with an open mouth at the hiker, "but why?!" He frowned confused, "but, but how got the snow into the tunnel?" Aglaia looked like she was about to say something, but stopped herself and glanced at Anthony, deciding to leave it up to him to clear the confusion as Emilio might not believe her. "I do!" Emilio declared reassuringly, "and poochyena loves me too!""It was a pack we battled when this one was caught," Aglaia said as she looked at the poochyena who was still growling loudly but looked less panicked now that they were just sitting calmly around the campfire and not doing anything but looking at it once in a while. Each time its growl got a bit louder to warn them. "I do hope we can calm this one," she added with a sigh, Emilio nodded solemnly, "it's very protective.""That's so cool! How's Kanto? Is it all flat and full of wild pokemon and really strong ones? Casper says that the strongest pokemon are in Kanto but I don't believe him, do you?" Emilio rambled off while Aglaia sipped her tea being fine with just listened, although she probably would need to save Antony from Emilio's many questions soon. "Isn't it cold hiking this time of the year?" Aglaia asked politely, and glanced at her pokemon when Anthony suggested to send their pokemon over and lift random rocks too. She shrugged, "I don't know if they are interested.""Rattata! Go and lift rocks as well!" Emilio ordered cheerfully as he sat down in front of the fire and wrapped himself tightly in the blanket and asked for another cup of tea. Rattata rolled its eyes at its young trainer and instead carefully made its way over to the pup, whose growl intensified. Sinclair floated over to machop although it didn't pay the rocks any attention, instead it placed itself right in front of the fighting type's face in the expectation of reflecting its face and soul. Obviously it wouldn't happen as the bronzor was covered in rust and not reflective at all. "Open your mind for your own wisdom and find your path and growth," Sinclair said solemnly and sent a 'gentle' wave of psychic energies at it to help it on its way to open its mind. The hiker guffawed, a deep belly laughter that made his whole face and upper body jiggle. "Nah son, not makin' a tunnel. We use the tunnels that are already made. Sometimes they had come from an Onix, other times the tunnels are made by controlled demolition by a crew of experts and professionals, and the reason that the snow is in the tunnel is that since we are under Blizzard conditions, ya get a lot of strong wind with the snow. Blows it right inside, making the water freeze, unless you have a fast current of water, like an underground river." The hiker had a twinkle in his eye, like he enjoyed explaining things to people. Who knew that the hiker you met randomly in a snowstorm would be a geology expert. After taking a sip from his provided tea, the hiker shook his head. "Kanto is not flat. There are mountains, caves, and several long, water only routes to travel to see the whole thing. I would say the strength of the Pokemon there is equal to any other region. Ya got young, easy to catch Pokemon in the beginning routes, and then they get stronger by the time you reach the Victory Road location of that region. It's allll relative," he said, leaning back and resting his arms on his belly. His Geodude was still floating by his side, content to sit by the fire and not worry about moving rocks. "It is cold, yes. However, I'm a big guy as ya can see and I got layers on underneath my hiking coat, so it takes a lot longer to actually feel the cold. This Blizzard isn't helping, but once I warm up, I'll be good for a while. The Machop was chipping away at its current boulder when the Bronzor in front of it, the words immediately broadcast into the fighting type's head. Caught off guard, the Machop cried and lashed out with his right foot, one of his better techniques at the moment. A loud clank echoed in the cavern as contact was made, but because of Bronzor's steel coating, the young fighting hurt his foot a bit too. When Sinclair continued the psychic barrage, Machop staggered back and tripped over a rock, landing hard on his tail. Holding his head, the Machop seemed to have developed a headache and was no longer interested in punching rocks. Seeing his teammate go down, Geodude rose a bit higher in the air and floated over to them. Sinclair gains 2 levels for defeating Machop. Sinclair can learn Gyro Ball, replace a move? Sytten is wearing the Exp Share, gains 1 level, now Level 9. Sytten can evolve into Spewpa, does he? Geodude is now investigating what was happening by the rocks. Level 11 Pokemon updated.

"Woah! An Onix!" Emilio gasped awed and looked at the small crevice, "You think an onix made this too?" Aglaia looked around skeptically as the crevice to her mostly looked to be dirt washed out from under the rock which was the roof, perhaps helped by pokemon along the way, but she didn't know much about geology so she left that for Anthony as well. Emilio nodded eagerly, "Snow can get in everywhere! And it's cold!" He informed helpfully, "I once played and some fell into my neck, it was really cold!"Emilio listened with wide eyes, this was an amazing fairytale about faraway lands with hidden wonders! "Can we go to Kanto?!" He asked Aglaia excited and she spluttered out some tea from the shock. "What? Now?! No!" She exclaimed as she tried to wipe off the tea of her jacket, Emilio pouted, "why not?"Aglaia jumped startled when a pokemon suddenly materialized beside her, "Bunnel!" Tornado greeted her cheerfully and looked around curiously. Emilio looked like he was going to get distracted, but only for a moment and then he looked accusingly at Aglaia again. "Because I'm just taking you home to your family, Kanto is far away and not something we can just do. You'll have to ask your parents," she said annoyed he sulked as he mumbled down into his cup, "they'll never say yes.""Then go when you are older," Aglaia said exasperated. The atmosphere was rather chilly after that and Aglaia changed the topic to ask the Hiker about hiking in the cold in hope of lighten up the mood. Luckily he happily obliged and answered her question cheerfully. She nodded and wondered how to continue the conversation, "this blizzard was rather unexpected, wasn't it?"Emilio groaned loudly and laid his head back, "boooooooorrrrriiiiiiing!"A dull thud of something hitting something hard resounded and Aglaia's eyes snapped over to where Sinclair and Machop was, the fighting type was staggering back, tripped and clutched his head in pain. "Sinclair! What did you do!" Aglaia exclaimed sternly and the bronzor turned to her, but obviously couldn't answer. Emilio followed the scene intently. Tornado came bounding over at the same time as Geodude. "No fighting! We are all friends and should relax!" He said urgently and wanted to jump in between the two floating pokemon since they obviously looked like they were about to fight. He tripped over some of the rocks though, and he accidently kicked up some of the mud, which had been made from the snow melting off of Anthony, right at Geodude. He did not manage to catch his bearings and he crashed into Sinclair sending them both to the ground. Emilio's Rattata watched unimpressed while the poochyene forgot all about growling as it stared warily at the accident. The rat sighned and, much to the pup's suprise, the rat laid down beside it and tried to start a smalltalk with it. "It is possible an onix carved this cave originally," Anthony agreed. "I have seen them on my hike through this tunnel system. Big, impressive creatures, but surprisingly shy. Don't see them often, but I think they prefer to eat minerals and such much deeper down, so we only see'm when they surface. Heard they become steelix because o' the heat and pressure down deep under the earth." He was happy to chat about all things nature and caves and hiking, only pausing when he heard the loud clang and saw his machop holding his head. "Uh oh. Looks like there may have been an accident. C'mere, machop, rest for a bit. Y'look like ya have a headache and thems no fun." As he returned the fighting type, geodude floated over to the rocks they were picking up...hitting... using as entertainment some way or another. He was quite oblivious until the bunnelby slipped and sent dirt into the back of head head. irritated, the geodude started to spin quite fast to knock the dirt off, bumping into the walls and Tornado as he tried to clean himself off. "Woah! That's awesome!" Emilio gasped awed and looked around, "I can see it!" He declared as if he could see the marks from the stone pokemon. Aglaia looked skeptically at the walls, but decided it wasn't worth questioning it and risk sour the atmosphere, it had been bad enough when Emilio complained a moment ago. The kid eagerly lapped up all the cool information which the hiker shared and he turned to Aglaia eagerly, "can I get an onix? Pleeeeeaaase!" "That's not up for me to decide, besides I doubt we'll run into any up here as they live underground," she pointed out and Emilio did 'yes' gesture with his hand which made her sigh. "But if we run into one, I'm going to catch it! I almost have a full team of pokemon!" He bragged and Aglaia turned her attention to her cup and wished she could soon deliver him at his house and get a break.
Sinclair laid still as Tornado got back up on his feet and apologized profusely, then the steel type slowly levitated from the ground and floated over to Aglaia who had been scolding it. Tornado stood and rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, right until something hammered into his back and sent him flailing to the ground again, face first into the rocks. His kicking feet sent more mud flying up behind him, now Anthony was also in the risk of getting hit, and the same was the campfire.
"Will he be alright?" Emilio asked and looked at the machop, "I can get some snow if you need something to cool it with!" he offered and pointed at the entrance and the calming snowstorm. "Oh good, we might be able to continue soon," Aglaia commented.

That slip and slide sent mud on the campfire and snuffed it. But fortunately for them, the storm had indeed passed. Anthony waved Emilio away with a chuckle, "Machop will be fine. He's the tough sort. Aint ya pal?" Upon noticing the lack of wind, he stood up, walking past his geodude, who was still covered in mud and now just sitting on the ground, sulking about it. He peered out the cave and grinned, "Looks like we're in for a treat, new friends. The weather has gotten right sunny out there. Might wanna skedaddle on to Azalea if that's your goal while the sun is shining. Man, feel that warm breeze...amazing how quick the weather can turn, yeah?" He chuckled and returned his pokemon to their balls. "Thanks for letting me rest with you two to wait out the blizzard. I'm gonna head back out while it's nice! Hopefully I won't get caught in a second wave of the stuff!" Anthony let out a deep belly laugh at that. "Stay adventurous. Maybe we'll meet again." And after he vanished from sight, the pair would notice a small, folded up stack of bills that he left behind. Not like he dropped it, but as if it was a thank you he didn't want to make a fuss about.

Tornado rolled to his side, clasping his face as it hadn't been a nice encounter with the rocks, unlike machop and partly the geodude, no one seemed to notice his pains. "My pokemon is really tough too!" Emilio told the hiker urgently and found his pokeballs to mimic the older trainer but got distracted by the weather. "Woah! Look Aglaia! Look! It's sunny! It has stopped snowing!" Emilio laughed and dropped the blanket and ran into the snow, the pooch leaped back with a fearful bark when he dashed past it, but as the kid was past it so quickly it didn't lash out. "No need to thank us, it was a pleasure!" Aglaia reassured Anthony and gulped down the last of her tea. "We need to help each other out here, and don't worry, we're going straight to Azalea. Take care of yourself," she said as a farewell and began to pack up. While Emilio ran around playing in the snow and shouting about the nice sunny weather, Aglaia effectively packed the last things and noticed the neatly folded notes. "You didn't have to do that," she mumbled but pocketed them anyway.
"H-h-hey Ag-gl-gl-glaia? I'm c-c-cold," Emilio stammered just as she finished up and he joined her shakingly in the tiny den. She sent him a tired look and wrapped him in in the blanket again and got him to stand close to the dying fire.
They got rather delayed due to that and the sun was high on the sky when they finally could move on. It was early afternoon now when they finally stepped out and continued their trek. On the positive side, the poochyena was much more calm now, although it still kept a distance and kept a wary eye on them. "Where do you think Anthony is now?" Emilio asked for the 100th time, they haven't even gotten out of sight of their resting place. "He's probably out exploring a cave somewhere," Aglaia said and instantly regretted it when Emilio pouted, "I also want to explore a cave." "Don't you want to bond with your poochyena?" the girl asked and he looked defiantly at her, "I already have done that!" she raised her eyebrows in disbelief, "you have?" "Yes!" They bickered on as they made their way back towards the main path to Azalea Town.

The bright burning ball of gas washed the earth with harsh ultraviolet rays that heated the land. It caused the once snowy landscape to melt away, churning from a slush covered landscape to an eventual pretty spring day. The skies were bright blue like a baby’s eyes freshly born, with only a few wispy clouds strung through the horizons like torn and tethered cotton. Several small children frolicked in the gentle breeze, laughing and galivanting without a care in the world. A young girl with thick, curly brunette hair and large auburn eyes picked up a rock and tossed it at a young boy with straight black hair cut ‘army’ short whose rich brown eyes smiled as he dodged the projectile and laughed. “Haha, you can’t get me! You can’t get me!” The young boy hollered. The young girl growled and stooped down. She searched through the emerald, green grasses and plucked small pebbles up with ease. “Bet I can!” She jeered, tossing each one after the other in the young boy’s direction. He dodged most of them with ease. They chased each other through the trees that decorated the route, darting in and out of the wide oaks and tall pines littering the landscape. One of the rocks soared pack the small boy and struck a strange pink Pokemon against its head, causing it to pop out from the grasses with an angry growl. “That really hurt!” The Hoppip declared angrily. The serrated green leaves on the top of its head spun wildly around, creating a strong whirlwind. The gusty wind smacked the children in the face, causing them to stumble backwards and fall on the ground. Immediately, they both burst into tears though it seemed that the wild Pokemon wasn’t going to relent so easily. “Thaattt hurrrttt!” The young girl cried, rubbing her legs with her small hands as tears streamed down her cheeks. “It bruised me!” The boy lamented, rubbing the welt that formed on his elbow where he’d fallen on it.
