As Venom and Salandit continued to search the National Park for wild Bug type Pokemon, Venom took the time in between encounters to do some thinking. Not about anything major, just the events of his journey through the Johto region so far. On some level, the ninja couldn't believe his luck. Sure, he had encountered some rough waters here and there, but who hasn't? All in all, Venom felt pretty fortunate, thinking about everything he had accomplished so far. And all before he even got his third gym badge. The Poison type trainer was so lost in his own inner monologue, that he nearly stepped on a wild Silcoon that was hiding in the tall grass before him.
"Oh! Sorry. That was my bad." Venom stepped back and bowed to the pure Bug type Pokemon, apologizing for his near misstep. Unfortunately, this still ended up triggering a battle with Silcoon, but just who exactly was the truly unfortunate one in this turn of events? "No need to say it, master. Please allow me." Without even needing to be told, Salandit looked down at Silcoon and spat her Ember attack right at the Cocoon Pokemon. Afterwards, the Toxic Lizard Pokemon eyed her trainer from her perch on his right shoulder, wondering what had him so distracted at this moment. Normally, he was the first to notice the presence of another living creature that was close by.
OOC: Here we go. That's 235 words for Venom's newly acquired Cubone egg.

After another easy victory, Venom and Salandit watched as the scorched Cocoon Pokemon was quickly carried off to safety by a passing Beautifly. "I'm sorry about that, Silcoon!" Venom yelled to the Bug type pair before they were out of sight, hoping that Silcoon would be okay after some rest. "I'm not! If you wanna stay safe, then hurry up and evolve like I am!" Salandit was less compassionate than her trainer though, chuckling to herself after finishing her statement. A small sigh escaped Venom's lips after that, as he glanced at the Poison/Fire type on his shoulder and decided to give her a reminder.
"Salandit, remember what we talked about. I'm glad you won another battle with ease, but we didn't come here to terrorize wild Bug type Pokemon." Still as mischievous as ever, Salandit maintained her smirk as she responded to Venom's friendly reminder. "Yeah, yeah. We're supposed to be the good guys and all that other stuff. Either way, we still have two encounters left, and I still have four levels to go before I evolve. So, c'mon. Let's go!" Clearly, Salandit was already ready for more, and while Venom didn't completely agree with her point of view, he did like her enthusiasm when it came to evolving, smiling as he began to walk around and search for their fourth Bug type encounter. "I'm supposed to be the trainer, ya know."
OOC: Wow. That's exactly another 235 words for Venom's Cubone egg.

Based on what Venom could see, as he glanced at some of the other trainers taking part in the Bug Catching Contest, it looked as though the contest was just about halfway over by this point. Which was a bit odd, considering more than half the time for the contest was still remaining. The Poison type trainer just shrugged though, not thinking much of it. If anything, this was just another attest to the skill, strength, and potential of all trainers and Pokemon present for this event. However, even during this event, other trainers and bystanders were still present in the National Park. And as a rather loud buzzing sound reached his ears, Venom quickly took notice of a wild Beedrill being hassled by some kids with nets. Even though it was indeed a Poison type Pokemon, Venom didn't go into his Poison type fanboy mode, having seen this particular Poison type many times before. And speaking of this particular Poison type, its reaction to the actions of the children didn't surprise him or Salandit one bit, as the two watched this confrontation unfold for about thirty seconds. "They're gonna get a heck of sting if they don't knock that off. Let's stay and watch." Salandit commented with another smirk on her face, giggling at the thought of a group of humans learning first-hand what Beedrill's Poison Sting attack is all about. Venom was about to comment as well, but that's when the Poison Bee Pokemon suddenly directed its fury at him and Salandit, flying straight at them with all three of its stingers ready to strike. However, even in the face of such a threat, the ninja didn't flinch, taking a single deep breath as Beedrill approached. "This isn't your fault, Beedrill. As such, we'll try to make this as painless as possible." Then, in three quick movements, Venom caught all three of Beedrill's stingers. One of Beedrill's arms in each of his hands, and Beedrill's third stinger in his teeth. And given Venom's immunity to all forms of poison, the level of overall risk facing the purple-haired trainer was quite low. "Uh oh! Looks like the tables have turned! My master may have promised to go easy on you, but I sure didn't!" Taking full advantage of the situation, the Toxic Lizard Pokemon opened her jaws, took aim at the immobilized Bug/Poison type, then fired two shots of her Ember attack back-to-back at a very close range. OOC: Running Shoes used. Also, Caramell 🍬, you forgot to add the words from my last post to Venom's Cubone egg. So, with the 410 words from this post, and the 235 from the last one, that makes a total of 645 words that need to be added to Venom's Cubone egg. Thank you kindly.

Just like Caterpie's earlier attack in this contest, Salandit barely felt Beedrill's attack, not even flinching as she struck back and knocked the Poison Bee Pokemon unconscious. This was Salandit's fourth victory of the day, and there was still one more to be had before said contest was over and done with for the season. But before Salandit's flames could cause any more damage than what was necessary, Venom quickly put them out, then released Beedrill's stinger from his teeth. Still holding the defeated Poison/Bug type in his arms, the Kantonian trainer carried it over to a nice enough-looking, shady tree, and gently laid said Pokemon on the ground under the tree so it could recover in peace. "Thank you for a good battle, Beedrill. I know you probably can't hear me right now, but please rest up. And hopefully when you wake up, the contest will be over, and you can enjoy some peace and quiet."
Once that was done, Venom turned away and ventured off towards another area of the National Park in search of Team Toxic's final encounter of this season's Bug Catching Contest. All the while, Salandit maintained her position on her trainer's right shoulder, eagerly awaiting their final encounter herself. "Hmmm...I wonder what it'll be this time. A Pinsir? A Dustox? A Butterfree?" The Poison/Fire type thought out loud, while Venom once again kept his thoughts to himself. Even though he and Salandit had already managed to capture a Caterpie, he probably wouldn't say no to upgrading their one and only capture of the competition to a Butterfree. Or at least a Metapod. After all, the broker they entered this contest for in the first place specifically requested a Butterfree, though the ninja still didn't quite understand why.
OOC: This is 296 more words for Venom's Cubone egg.

With the end of the Bug Catching Contest drawing ever closer, Salandit was eagerly awaiting her final opponent, or rather prey, of said contest. Meanwhile, Venom was busy multitasking, searching for their final adversary and making plans in his head. Once the contest was over and the awards for the three best catches were handed out, Venom planned to send the Caterpie he and Salandit captured over to his friend, Shinya. According to the deal Shinya made with the broker, he had to have a Butterfree to trade in exchange for the Sizzlipede that was promised to him. So, naturally, the Caterpie had to evolve not once, but twice. Fortunately, it didn't take much effort to get a Caterpie to evolve, especially when it was already sitting at level 18.
And who better to evolve the small Bug type Pokemon than a Bug type specialist? Besides, it was technically Shinya who made the deal in the first place. Venom was happy to help out his friend, but it didn't really have anything to do with him. Of course, in order to set all of these plans into motion, Venom and Salandit still had to find and defeat their last opponent of the contest first. Sure, they could've just called it quits right then and there and walked away, but the poisonous pair wanted to make Salandit as strong as possible during the competition. Plus, the Toxic Lizard Pokemon was having a blast defeating all these Bug types and gaining power from them.
Then, from some nearby trees, a familiar face swooped down and hovered before the venomous duo. This particular Bug type might not have been all that powerful, but its beauty was unmatched in the world of Bug type Pokemon without a doubt. However, this particular beauty didn't look very happy, glaring down at Venom and Salandit. "Hey, master, isn't that the same Beautifly that carried off the Silcoon we defeated earlier?" Salandit asked in a puzzled tone of voice, and Venom narrowed his eyes up at the Butterfly Pokemon, nodding after about thirty seconds of contemplation. "You know, I think it is. I suppose it's looking for some revenge after what we did to that Silcoon."
On the one hand, Venom did still feel kind of bad about nearly stepping on that Silcoon and then having Salandit burn it with her Ember attack. But on the other hand, Venom still had his own Pokemon to think about. So, although it pained him to do it, he gave Salandit her final command of this season's Bug Catching Contest. "Hopefully one attack won't hurt too badly. Salandit, use Sludge Wave and wrap this up. After that, we're done here." Still eager to gain more power, the Poison/Fire type jumped right off of the ninja's shoulder, landing safely on the ground, then starting to spin around in a circle where she stood. "It might not be super effective, but it should still get the job done! Though you might not look so pretty after this, Beautifly!" As she spun around, Salandit stirred up a large amount of poisonous sludge, sending it all out in massive waves right towards the Bug/Flying type.
OOC: 532 more words for Venom's Cubone egg here. And just a reminder, the 410 words and 296 words from my last two posts here still need to be added to the egg as well. Not to mention the EXP Salandit gained after defeating the Beedrill earlier. Thanks a bunch.

Now the beautifly might have regretted not evolving into a dustox instead, the wave of sludge washed it away and burned and stung and would require a lot of cleaning up by the Park's crew before people would want to relax around here again. Not long after the competition was declared over and it was time to head back with what they had caught, and see which one was the 'best'. Salandit grains 850 exp and grows +1 levels to [Lv 30]! Once more, Venom didn't much care for the collateral damage that Sludge Wave caused when it was used by one of his beloved Poison type Pokemon, letting out a small sigh as he watched all the tall grass around them wither away and die. However, his mood as soon as he saw the results of Salandit's latest victory. After finishing off the wild Beautifly in one shot, the Toxic Lizard Pokemon held her head up high, planning to fire off an Ember attack to declare her victory to all those around her. But once she did, even she was surprised when a more powerful Fire type attack appeared from her jaws. Once the flames finally stopped, and the poisonous pair took a moment to process this, but both smiled at this rather sudden development. "Alright! That was Incinerate! Excellent work, Salandit! I'm very proud of you, my friend!"Very happy to hear her trainer's praise, and feeling very proud of herself as well, Salandit crawled back over to Venom and back up onto his right shoulder. "Woo! That was fun! I love this contest! We gotta come back again in the fall, master!" Salandit spoke with very high levels of enthusiasm and pride in her voice, already looking forward to the next Bug Catching Contest. "Let's see what we're doing by then, Salandit. There's always the chance that Shinya will choose to compete next time instead, ya know." The ninja reminded Salandit of this possibility, but still maintained quite a high level of enthusiasm in his own voice too. And just like that, the Bug Catching Contest for Team Toxic was done for another season. And so, Venom and Salandit made their way to the judging area, wondering who would take the top three spots in this season's contest. Of course, neither of them was all that hopeful about their chances of winning this time around, having only a Caterpie to show for all their efforts. This was especially true when they looked around and saw some captures and encounters that the other trainers in the contest managed to pull off. One trainer captured a Sewaddle, another captured a Cutiefly, and one trainer even came face to face with a shiny Pinsir of all Bug types. Still, even if they didn't win anything from this contest, it was still a good day for Team Toxic. Salandit got stronger, learned a new move, and once the Caterpie they caught evolved into a Butterfree, their friend Shinya would be able to trade it for a Sizzlipede. A Bug type Pokemon that far outclassed most of the wild Bug types found in this competition. OOC: 441 more words for Venom's Cubone egg. I'd also like to teach Salandit Incinerate, having her forget Ember in its place. And finally, I'd like the Caterpie sent over to Shinya's PC with its stats still blank. Thanks so much. Done -Tarlar
