If looks could kill, Miranda's stare would surely be lethal. That punk threw a pokeball in her face and then had his stupid salandit fill the alleyway with draconic fire. She let out a yowl of alarm and outrage at the suddenly flash of pain and clutched her now bleeding nose. Nothing else mattered by putting that brat in his place. She grit her teeth, eyes filled with animosity as the flames licked at her seviper's scaly hide. "SEVIPER! USE GLARE!" she snarled, blood trickling from her bruised nose. Her seviper rushed between the salandit and her and hissed menacingly at the salandit, catching it with a paralyzing stare that tensed up every muscle. Thunder boomed again as the heavens poured down upon their battle, soaking them combatant's even through the slight shelter of the tall walls that loomed around them. "HOW DARE YOU BRUISE MY FACE AND DAMAGE MY PRECIOUS SEVIPER'S BEAUTIFUL SKIN!?" she tossed her hair flippantly. "Tch. I am going to humiliate you for that affront. Everyone will know how pathetic you are and how a loser tried and failed to get back that little horsea. It's better off not in that kid's hands anyway. He doesn't know what to do with it!" Miranda's stare may have been fiery, but Venom's stare would make even an Arbok jealous, even if it had Intimidate and Glare in its arsenal. The snake-eyed trainer didn't even blink in the face of Miranda's fury, continuing to glare right back into the bully's eyes with his own brand of fury. And the more she dared to speak to Venom, the deeper the hole she dug herself into became, even if she didn't realize it just yet. If she only got off with a broken nose, then she'd be extremely lucky in this particular instance. But before even bothering to address the female trainer or her Seviper, Venom grabbed a Cheri Berry from his bag and tossed it over to his now paralyzed Pokemon friend. "SSSSSSSSSalandit, headsssssssss up! Take thisssssssssss and get back in the battle!"
Still more than a little angry, the ninja's voice did a perfect job of demonstrating that, with equal parts rage and hissing. Almost like an angry snake that somehow learned how to talk. Still, even with such a voice, Salandit still understood her trainer perfectly, turning in his direction as soon as she heard him speak to her. The Toxic Lizard Pokemon then opened her mouth up wide, caught the red berry in her jaws, chewed it up and swallowed it, curing her paralysis instantly. "Ahhhh...Much better. Thanks for that, master! You're the best!" Salandit gave Venom and complement and a smile, her tail swaying behind her slowly as she did. "Team Toxic isssssssss the besssssssssst, SSSSSSSSSSSalandit. And we're going to prove it to thissssssssssss insssssssssssufferable human girl and her Pokemon right here and now. They will both come to regret their actionsssssssssss. Now, ussssssssssse Dragon Rage again!"
Now freed from the effects of Seviper's Glare, Salandit turned back towards her serpentine opponent, got her smirk back, and whipped up another torrent of wind, rainwater, and draconic flames. "You heard my master! Another blast comin' at ya!" And while Salandit was dealing with Miranda's Pokemon, Venom finally got around to addressing Miranda herself, as well as all of her rude and hurtful comments. "That'sssssssssssss not the way it'ssssssssssss going to happen. I may love Poisssssssssson type Pokemon more than any other type of Pokemon in the world, but the toxin sssssssssssspewing from your mouth with every ssssssssssssingle word you ssssssssssspeak isssssssssss making even me ssssssssssssick. I do agree that Pokemon shouldn't be in the handsssssssss of sssssssssssomeone who doessssssssssn't know how to treat them, like your SSSSSSSSSSeviper for example, but people like you don't get to decide ssssssssssssuch thingssssssssssss."
"Which issssssssssss why after you losssssssssse thisssssssssss battle, you're going to give me Tim'sssssssssssss Horssssssssssea and never bother either of them again. Or elsssssssssssssssse." The Poison type trainer may have calmed down a bit since first crossing paths with Miranda, but he still had the tone and appearance of an Ekans ready to strike a Rattata. If the young woman didn't choose to repent soon, she'd find herself facing something far worse than a broken nose. It was at times like these when making your base of operations a dark alley that hardly any people dared to venture into proved to be a very bad idea. For if the founder of this secret base suddenly found themselves in dire straits, there'd likely be no one around to come to their aid. And this was definitely one of those times.

"Insufferable?! ME? I'm not the one hissing like I think I AM a seviper, you brat," she retorted snidely. As a berry was thrown to the stricken saladit, she rolled her eyes and examined her perfectly manicured nails, "Use glare again! Make sure that pitiful pokemon can't move a muscle." Said hand migrated to her hip as once more Seviper glowered at its prey and caught it up that naturally unsettling stare of a viper ready to strike then devour. "Now use night slash and teach it a lesson!" She couldn't let them see that she was feeling nervous at all. She couldn't let the facade drop. Miranda flipped her hair nonchalantly, "If you /CAN/ beat me, I'll just give the pathetic little thing back. But someone's counting their torchics before they hatch." She sneered as seviper short forth, now faster and more agile than its re-paralyzed foe. Its blade-like tail whipped around to slice across the salandit who couldn't move out of the way of its dangerous strike. Night slash was such a fast, sharp move that it frequently hit harder than your average attack, but fortunately for salandit, now was no such instance. It did knock it back before it could, overcoming twitching, tense muscles, send more draconic fire everywhere. "SEVIPER!" Miranda gasped. Her pokemon's scales were singed by the false flames. In response to Miranda's snide comments, Venom withdrew a single shuriken from his pocket, and tossed it at the female delinquent. All in the space of two seconds. The metal throwing star wasn't actually intended to hit her though. Only to make her be silent and frighten her a bit. However, the shuriken did leave a small cut on the left side of her face, sliced off some of her hair, and stuck in the wall behind her. "You sssssssssssstill don't sssssssssssseem to undersssssssssstand the ssssssssssssituation you're in. I hope that made it clear. I'm not here to play gamesssssssssss. Team Toxic will defeat you, and you will pay dearly for your crimessssssssssss."
The ninja's tone of voice was as dark and serious as ever, hissing and all, as the heavens above continued to rain down and explode with seemingly unending amounts of water and electricity. And speaking of electricity, Salandit had once again fallen prey to Seviper's paralyzing gaze, losing her smirk and doing her best to hang tough. "Master, I don't think we should waste anymore Cheri Berries or any other healing items on this! I think I can fight through it though! There's no way this overgrown Wurmple can withstand one more Dragon Rage! Just say the word, and I swear I won't fail you!" Setting aside her usual mischievous mannerisms, Salandit did her best to get serious, even though the odds were against her by this point.
She may have been able to withstand one Night Slash from Miranda's Seviper, but if the second Night Slash turned out to be a critical hit, Salandit wouldn't be getting back up from that impact. And in her paralyzed state, Seviper had the advantage when it came to speed, and there was still the risk of said paralysis preventing her from even attacking in the next round. Still, if it was for their master's sake, Team Toxic would gladly face even the steepest of odds. And Venom would do the same for them. "You will alwaysssssssssss have my faith, SSSSSSSSSSSSalandit! Let'sssssssssssss end thisssssssssss battle and make thesssssssssssse witlessssssssssssss failuresssssssssss ansssssssssssswer for everything they've done and everyone they've wronged! Usssssssssse Dragon Rage one more time!"
At her beloved trainer's comment, the Poison/Fire type gathered every last ounce of her resolve, as well as every last drop of her remaining power, planning to let them both go in one big burst. "Even through the rain and clouds, my fire burns like the sun! And I'm gonna light up this dark city! Now...BURN!" Fighting through her paralysis, Salandit did her best to withstand Seviper's next attack, collecting draconic flames in her mouth while doing so. If she was successful in enduring both, Seviper and Miranda would be met with an overflow of draconic flames the likes of which they've probably only seen on TV. And should Salandit somehow end up falling short, Venom would be ready with a Revive and another poisonous Pokemon. Even if it took every last ounce of his own strength, Venom would make absolutely sure that this young woman got what was coming to her.

Miranda yawned as the young trainer monologued about team Toxic or Venom or whatever. This kid was obnoxious. "Seviper, stop it from using dragon rage! Use Night Slash again and make it beautiful!" she commanded with a toss of her hair. With a sneer, she watched as her seviper darted forward and spun around sharply, this time the cutting edge of her tail slicing into a vulnerable spot. The flames guttered out in the salandit's maw as she was knocked unconscious by a keen critical hit! Seviper hissed and retreated back to Miranda, who pet the snake's head, "Just admit you're some punk kid in too deep to help a whiny cry baby. You won't be getting this back." She pulled out the horsea's pokeball and tossed it a few times smugly. As if she thought he only brought one pokemon to this fight. "Or are you going to continue limping along?" She was clearly used to people giving up quickly rather than persisting. Then again, bullies often did choose vulnerable targets who were less likely to defend themselves. Or were unable to defend themselves. Seviper leaned into her pets, "Your poor skin. You will need a bath, sweetie..." As one might expect, Venom wasn't at all happy with the outcome of the most recent round of battle. However, surprisingly, it wasn't Miranda he was angry at this time, but himself instead. As he gazed down at this bruised and unconscious Pokemon friend, he saw that he had asked too much of her this time. And for that, he was truly sorry, withdrawing both a Revive and a Great Ball from his bag as he slowly approached Salandit. Astonishingly, Salandit's defeat actually served to calm Venom back down, as his voice returned to normal, and the lisp vanished for the time being. That being said, he still had absolutely no intention of walking away from this battle or allowing the bully to escape with Tim's Horsea.
"You have my thanks, as well as my apologies, Salandit. You fought valiantly, my dear friend. I don't blame you for this loss. It was all my fault. We'll do better next time. You have my word. But for not, here. Please take this." Speaking in a gentle tone of voice, filled with empathy and regret, the ninja picked the Toxic Lizard Pokemon up in his arms and placed the Revive into her mouth. After chewing and swallowing the medicinal item, Salandit's eyes opened slowly, and she looked up at her master. "...Master...I'll get them next time...I swear it." Giving her a smile and a nod, Venom gently patted the top of her head and kept her in his arms, as he pressed the button on the Great Ball in his free hand to activate the spherical device.
"Yes, I know you will, Salandit. But for now, please allow this one to take over this battle from here. Grimer, I choose you now!" From the red, white, and blue orb in his hand, Venom's Alolan Sludge Pokemon emerged, looking right at home in the alley way filled with trash and debris. Upon noticing her friend and teammate's current state, Grimer let out a gasp, covering her mouth with both hands. "AH! Oh no! Salandit got hurt! How could this have happened?! And who could have possibly done such a thing?!" Far too focused on his own Pokemon's wellbeing to even notice Miranda's smug taunts, Venom chose to instead put Grimer's mind at ease, and hoped that she'd be able to end this battle once and for all.
"There will be plenty of time for explanations later on, Grimer! But right now, Salandit and I need your help! The ones who did this to Salandit are right there! That thief and her Seviper!" The Poison type trainer pointed out Miranda and her Fang Snake Pokemon to Grimer, causing the Poison/Dark type to turn right around and narrow her eyes into a glare. "You vile fiends! How dare you! You aren't even good enough to eat the trash off the ground here!" While her opponent may have been stronger than her, Seviper was definitely reeling after it's go-around with Salandit. And just as Venom told the female delinquent, she was facing all of Team Toxic. Not just Salandit. "Let's get some payback, Grimer! For Salandit, Horsea, and everyone else these two have wronged! Use Bite attack now!" Eager to avenge her dear comrade, Grimer headed straight for Seviper, with her mouth opened as wide as it could go, and her fangs bared.
OOC: Revive used on Salandit before the attack. Also, if this battle does end with the next post, can Venom still go back and explore the two paths he hasn't explored yet? Or will the quest end once he gets the Horsea back? I'd like to have Venom explore the other two paths if possible. Thanks.

Miranda watched, bored, as the other trainer played doctor with his Pokemon. It was like she was watching one of those homeless Pokemon commercials on television. Disgusting. "Are you done making out with your Pokemon yet? I don't have all day," she called across the battlefield. However, one look at her Seviper was enough to see that this battle was almost finished. The poor snake was exhausted, his forked tongue flicking in and out at only about half the speed that the species was known for. The bully gave a sneer of disgust as Venom selected his next Pokemon, the multicolored Alolan pile of sludge. "Keep it in its place!" she called out. Seviper's eyes once again started to glow red and become much bigger, scaring the Grimer into a paralyzed state. Unfortunately, the sludge Pokemon seemed to have a better constitution than that and quickly squirmed her way across the battlefield, before delivering a particularly nasty bite to the neck of the snake, puncturing scales with her hard and sharp teeth. A strangled hiss of pain was all the snake could muster before collapsing to the ground in the alleyway, totally defeated. Sighing, she returned the snake and looked at Venom one more time. "Fine! A deal is a deal. Have the stupid Horsea back, it was probably worthless anyway," she sneered, before tossing the poke ball to Venom. While Venom focused on catching the ball, she took off down the alleyway, before disappearing into the shadows. If he looked closely, Venom would also see that a small money pouch had fallen from her pocket. Surely, it was worth it to pick it up and claim the amount. After working his way back through the side alleys of the street, Venom would once again find Youngster Tim on that same bench. This time, though, the lad was not eagerly awaiting the return of the poison trainer and had stopped crying after he had been promised help. "Well? Were you able to get him back?" the boy asked, eyes wide with wonder. Trainer Battle Weather: Rain [attr="class","qkt-bkgd"] [attr="class","qkt-wild-pkmn"] Seviper LV 30 HP 0% [0/93]

As soon as the battle was over, Venom, Grimer, and Salandit all smiled, very pleased to see that they not only rescued Horsea from the clutches of evil, but they also taught that evil one heck of a lesson. Never cause trouble when Team Toxic is around. After catching the Pokeball that Miranda threw at him, Venom quickly checked to make sure that Horsea was really inside of it and that the bully wasn't trying to pull a fast one on him. Thankfully, the Dragon Pokemon was indeed contained within the red and white orb, as the unmistakable aroma of the ocean and dragon scales filled the snake-like trainer's nostrils when he sniffed the small device. "Very good. I'm glad you're safe, little one. We'll have you back to your trainer very soon, I promise." Venom spoke to the small Water type through the Pokeball in a gentle and compassionate tone of voice, before tucking it away into his pocket for the time being.
While her trainer was doing that, Grimer was the first to notice the lost coin pouch, slithering over to it, picking it up, and bringing it over to said trainer. "Master, look! That foul woman dropped her money!" Both Venom and Salandit looked down at Grimer once they heard her voice, seeing the money pouch in her slimy hands, causing Salandit to snicker. "Salalalalalalalalala. How very lucky for us, and very unlucky for her. Let's take all the money in it and give her a taste of her own medicine." Even though Venom wasn't a thief, he had to admit, he did like that sound of that. So, he accepted the money pouch from Grimer, opened it up, emptied it of all the cash inside, then gave the empty pouch back to the Sludge Pokemon.
"What a marvelous idea, Salandit. Thank you both for yet another job well done. And Grimer, you've earned a treat. Have that foolish woman's money pouch for a snack." The ninja couldn't help but smirk, coming up with a rather devious idea, as he tucked all of the money into his wallet. Not only did Miranda's money pouch contain all of her money, but it also contained her trainer ID card, a few pieces of jewelry, and it had a keychain hanging off of it. All items that would now be digested by Alola's resident garbage collector and she'd never see again. A rather fitting punishment for her villainous behavior, if Venom said so himself. "Yummy! Thanks, master!" Gaining a big smile upon her face, Grimer happily accepted her treat and devoured Miranda's money pouch, along with everything that was left inside of it, while Salandit watched and snickered some more, enjoying the show and the retribution that went along with it.
Once snack time was over, Venom recalled both Poison type Pokemon back to their own Pokeballs, then turned right around and ran straight back to where he last saw Tim. Upon his return, he was relieved to see that Tim was still there, waiting for the return of his own Pokemon friend. Slowing to a stop as he approached the younger male, Venom gave him a nod, then withdrew Horsea's Pokeball from his pocket, presenting it to the youngster. "Indeed, we did. Team Toxic never turns their backs on a Pokemon in need. Take good care of this one, Tim. And be sure that the two of you grow strong enough so that this doesn't happen again. I'm sure those bullies would think twice about picking a fight with you if you had a Kingdra by your side." The Poison type trainer offered the younger trainer some advice, as he waited for said younger trainer to reunite with the Pokemon contained within the spherical device in his palm.
OOC: Awww, dang. -Sigh- Oh well. In that case, Venom will just claim his reward for completing the quest and continue training his Pokemon elsewhere.

Tim sat patiently on the chair where Venom had last saw him, holding onto a few wads of tissue papers that he had cried and blew his nose into. When the poison type trainer appeared again from the Alley Maze, he wiped his face one last time before turning his head to greet the helpful trainer. When the Horsea was presented from the Pokeball that Venom was holding, Tim's eyes lit up and his face turned into a bright smile. "Thank you mister! Thank you for getting my Horsea back!" Tim opened up the Pokeball, revealing the Horsea. He then grabbed the Horsea and hugged it real tight that the water type was wiggling for air. He stopped his excitement for a bit and put the Horsea by his side, and dug into his pocket for some reward to Venom for helping him out. "These are Hearts Sweets. My mom owns a candy store not too far from here, and she gave these to me as a treat! I think she said somebody in Ecruteak really likes them too!" He handed a couple brown colored and heart-shaped candies toward the poison type trainer. When it was time to leave, he would return the Horsea and headed home as well.

When Venom set out on this quest to rescue a kidnapped Horsea, he never expected to get any sort of reward for his efforts. Let alone such rare and valuable items. But this sweet surprise was definitely not unwelcome, as the ninja smiled and accepted the sweets from the younger male. "Oh, I see. Well, thank you for these, Tim. Truthfully, I was more than willing to save your Horsea without any kind of incentive, but I do appreciate this. My Pokemon and I will use them wisely." Through his research, Venom was well aware of the move tutor in Ecruteak City who taught Pokemon useful moves in exchange for Heart Sweets. The purple-haired trainer didn't really understand it, but such moves would definitely come in handy on his mission to take Poison type Pokemon to the top of the world of Pokemon.
Of course, before Venom could get anywhere near Ecruteak City, he had to defeat Whitney in a gym battle and earn his third badge from her. To that end, it was time for Team Toxic to resume their training. So, after watching Tim run off and return to his home, the Poison type trainer turned his eyes back towards the mean streets of Goldenrod City and resumed his search for strong trainers or Pokemon to battle. Not wanting to waste too much time searching, Venom decided to return to the place in Goldenrod with the highest concentration of both. The Underground Tunnel. Sure, it hadn't even been 24 hours since his last visit to that Arceus forsaken tunnel, but it was still the best place in the entire city to find the strongest trainers and Pokemon possible. Venom wasn't sure how long he and his Pokemon would end up having to endure that vile location this time around, but to make their dreams come true, Team Toxic was more than willing to do what needed to be done.
