So what are people's opinions on Pokeballs? I'm particularly fond of Premier Balls and also Pokeballs despite them being the entry level type of Pokeball you can get. I don't really bother with much else as it's fun to throw about 200 at a legendary and not capture it once. Luxury Balls are pretty sleek too. I should use them some more. Credit for this topic goes to Latani and Jesse for mentioning it in the cbox.

I tend to look at how the ball appears when it releases the Pokemon. For this reason I like to use Dusk Balls for Dark type Pokemon or ones that look good with the black and purple light that releases them. Sometimes if the ball matches the look of the Pokemon, like the Lure for Water types, but normally I don't really consider it. Probably the regular Pokeball is my preferred one because of its simplicity, and I never liked the look of Great and Ultra balls.

I've never been one to care much for the Pokeball designs themselves, but I do enjoy dabbling with the Ball Capsule designs. I've just liked tinkering and making my own custom "POOF" effect depending on the Pokemon. But with HGSS, it is harder to get many capsule seals at once... from what I recall, only this little girl in Olivine City will give you three random seals only once a day. That hurts progress...

The regular Pokeball design must have read my first post yesterday as I caught Groudon with a single Pokeball with him only being a third of his health and asleep. I couldn't believe it. You know Joey i am very found of the Dusk Ball i almost always seem to catch legendaries with them. Dusk balls are a pretty nice contender but the best thing about them is that the catch rate goes to x4 when using them at night or in a cave. So definitely worthwhile. That's a pretty cool method. I remember capturing Latios in HGSS with a Quick Ball and then remarking how similar the two matched when I was viewing over his profile. Always nice to see a normal Pokeball fan too. ;D I've never been one to care much for the Pokeball designs themselves, but I do enjoy dabbling with the Ball Capsule designs. Ahh... Ball capsules. I have a love hate relationship with that aspect of the games. While it's cool to customise the entry of each Pokemon that little bit more there are just too many negatives that prohibit my use of them. Aside from the one you mentioned I hate the fact you can't freely move around Pokemon between boxes if they have a ball capsule on. Really disrupts my flow. Although... I did make some rather nice designs for Electivire and Magmortar. I had just the right layout for the electric bursts and for Maggie, I had a fiery explosion burst out of his arm cannons... Although I noticed Flint did the bleeding same thing in Platinum, too.

It doesn't hurt me too badly since I am in the habit of removing the capsules when I need something new from the PC. But not all my Pokemon have a Ball Capsule, either. Just 4/6 for now because I haven't obtained enough seals that I like to use on the other two.

I myself like Luxuary balls, Master balls (For obvious reasons), Heavy balls, and Level balls.
