The helmeted bug normally prided itself on being rather brave. But if there was one thing knights knew, it was not to mess with spirits; especially pyromaniacs. The maniacal laughter approaching above was signal enough to turn tail and run for the nearest cover. There was a burrow nearby. Surely its inhabitants would understand Shelmet's need.

Flicker continued to giggle as Adrian rolled his eyes, "Alright now. I think you scared it good. C'mon. we should keep looking." Flicker hummed and bobbed and then went to follow Adrian as he got up and started his search again. As they did so, he noticed Flicker was playing with a little flame that looked different from her usual embers. He pointed his pokedex at her, "Huh...will-o-wisp? Oh, and you learned hex...You're learning a lot while we're out here, aren't you?"

The litwick giggled more and phased into his backpack. Ah, yes. 

"That is your favorite place," Adrian shook his head, smiling fondly. "Not carrying any eggs in there, bud. Fraid you can't baby sit any eggs today." She made a disappointed noise but stayed in hiding. "Let's see...uh, maybe there will be a bug over there." He traipsed through the tall grass towards some shorter stalks. There were benches in view, the kind he could easily imagine little grannies sitting on as they gossiped, their tiny pet pokemon on leashes at their feet. "Now where oh where would I be if I was a bug pokemon...?"

The smokey smell scattered about the char tipped grass seemed to have drawn the attention of an airborne patrol bug.

"Woah...a bedrill..." Adrian startled and took a wary step back. Those big hornets were known for their territorial natures and bad tempers. He was ready to bold if that thing got too upset. "H-hey, Flicker, could use a little fire here."

Fire? FIRE!

The steadily growing stronger litwick peeked out of the backpack and stared big-eyed at the bedrill. Ohhh. Big bug! Big buzz-buzz bug! Burn big buzz-buzz bug? She giggled and phased out of the bag, settling on Adrian's shoulder with delighted menace in her ghostly gaze. Her flame burned brighter. Hotter. 

BURN?!

She was getting so much practice at making flames! She could make everything burn down! Tee-hee.

"Go on. Uh. Ember. That should work."

He wondered when the fire-type would learn a stronger fire move. He should probably look into that. Learning more about your own pokemon and what they were capable of was kinda what a trainer should do...

Flicker leapt away from him and towards the bedrill, happily floating around the angry bug to shower it with lot of little embers. Burn burn burn! Hehehehe. BUUUURN big bug!

Alright then...one more encounter. Flicker was looking much, much stronger than before. He was glad he brought her here. Even if she seemed to be enjoying bug burning a little too much.

"C'mon Flicker, we've got one more encounter before the clipboard guy over there kicks us out," Adrian said. Flickered hummed and giggled and drifted back into Adrian's backpack. With the terrifying bedrill scared off, Adrian didn't think they'd see anything worse than that. Then again, a hyper aggressive scyther, pinsir or...What was this thing...Dur-ant? One of those looked like they could cause some damage if they got upset and decided to take a bite out of him.

But he was much more likely to trip over a caterpie or paras.

"Now, where will my last encounter be?" he asked aloud, grass crunching under his feet as he traversed towards the exit of the park.

Hidden, camouflaged magnificently amidst the sea of similar green blades, was a particular cocoon who really hoped it would remain overlooked as the trainer stepped about. Unfortunately, its extended effort to remain as motionless as possible was ultimately what would give it away as a gentle breeze wafted through the park.

"Yeah, nah, I think I'll just head out." Adrian said, shaking his head. "I don't think you're even going to learn anything by trying to battle this one, Flicker."

The ghost peeked out. Burn? Fire? Burn the buggie? No?

Adrian turned to the administrator, "I think I'll just register the scyther I caught as my entry for the contest, now." He would fill out the forms, give the ball to the guy following him around to take back for judging, as well as the spare sport balls he didn't use. He adjusted his backpack and headed out, ready to just go rest and wait for the others to finish as well. "Am...I the first person to finish? Yeesh...not sure if that's a good or bad thing..." He huddled a little awkwardly in a corner seat and played with his phone as he waited.
