The Illumise was a fun one for Farbeez to chase down, but it was no match to her speed. The small bug managed to chase down the purple crowned bug as fast as it tried to fly away. Now the Illumise flew a little more sluggishly as fatigue set in, and the opponent bug had a little stamina left to continue the fight. The Cutiefly knew what to do next, and went forward for yet another adorable Draining Kiss. Or rather, a kiss of soul-sucking vampiric power. Alex folded his arms and still wondered how this was a fairy type move and not a dark type move or ghost type move. It just seemed a little more nefarious than he thought.

The bug quickly realized that the little cutiefly was more dangerous than it expected. One last draining kiss seemed to take more out of it than it had expected. The Illumise fell over in defeat after one more move against it.

With the Illumise defeated, the purple faced bug fluttered away for safety, before another competitor would have found her. Farbeez chirped victoriously and flew in circle once again. Alex thanked his Pokemon's work, and the two began looking for the next bug again. He looked around to see where he should go. Some of the participants already had their five encounters, so they were already heading toward the lobby to wait. Alex look for another patch of less crowded grass to rustle some bug Pokemon's carapace. The Cutiefly followed suit, chirping along the way.

As they moved along scanning for any interesting bugs to win them a place in the contest a foul smell would pop in and out. With some investigation, the two could follow their nose to a parted area of grass to a strange bug facing upside down beside a pile of what could be presumed as dung. It looked a little tired.

Alex smelled something stinky poo poo as rather small Pokemon, that was also twice as big as the Cutiefly, appeared. It was a strange little bug that was rolling some number two to go. The trainer covered his mouth and nose, as the smell was too strong, reminding him of Ilex Forest, the area that smelled stinky and nasty. He was also unfamiliar with this new Pokemon added to the roster. They should have added a disclaimer!

"Farbheezh, ush Stun Sphore thenh Fhairh Whind!" He mumbled a command while trying very hard not to breathe in the gross air. Thankfully, his new bug Pokemon understood what he meant, and go for a Stun Spore and then Fairy Wind. Maybe the Fairy Wind will blow the stink the other way.

With the strange new opponent paralyzed and weakened, Alex hurriedly toss a ball at this bug type so it would stop stinking the air. Even though the fairy wind blew most of the stench away, the junk ball was still slowly emitting malodor from within. The ball sucked in the bug type, and then he watched patiently to see if it was captured successfully. When the ball sucked in the bug, Alex let out a sigh as the air was briefly fresh for him to breathe. He hoped it didn’t burst out and stink up the place again.

With the stinky new bug captured, Alex grabbed the sport ball containing the earlier capture, a Dottler, and released the yellow shimmer bug back into the wild. Then, he began walking very fast away from the stinky grass area to look for another Pokémon, his final one, to end his bug catching contest. This wasn’t too bad this year, not at all! Once he feels the air was clear, he took a deep inhale and exhale to refresh his lungs and his mind. He looked around for the last big one last time.

And then finally, the last bug Pokemon appeared and it was a Kricketune! How anti-climatic! Alex easily ordered his Pokemon to use Draining Kiss, as he wasn't interested in this one. His bee Pokemon made a beeline toward the Kricketune, and tried to kiss the opponent maliciously. With the last Pokemon encountered in his bug catching contest, Alex was glad to have a single new Pokemon to show his luck from this run. Now, he'll have to hydrate himself when he's back in the lobby, and maybe look up this new stinky poo poo Pokemon.
