Team Notes: Kumaneko HP 30/60 | Ika HP 33/57 [38/62 before level up]. Ghost Encounters: Cypress Rest, Eerie Wood, Putrid Swamp
Miniscule droplets poured from thick, dark grey cumulonimbus clouds who draped their large, towering presence across the once bright blue skies in large, long squall lines. Their ghastly appearance seemed to scream from the heavens above in warning of the arduous task Mishu and her team undertook amongst themselves. Shaped like anvils at their peaks, several smaller clouds clustered underneath their large, striking heads in rapid succession, blocking out nearly every inch of the used-to-be blue skies to blanket the world in stark greys and moody hues. Screams echoed through the surrounding forest, mimicking the hissing onslaught of the rains and at times besting them altogether.
Mishu’s rich golden orbs widened in disbelief and worry. Though she was no stranger to these apparitions whose formed plopped into view within the blink of an eye, shaping themselves in thin air from seemingly nowhere and everywhere all at once. Words scratched across her eardrops, reverberating in the ebony toned trainer’s hallowed holes as though they were records stuck on repeat. She narrowed those same amber hues and scrunched her nose up as she studied through the heavy downpour into the blanket of rain, dark browns, dreary greens, and a sea of greys from the almost night like complexion of the atmosphere around her.
Who appeared with them? A soft hum as Mishu reflexively reached into her pocket, though she came up empty-handed. Ika floated in front of them, a seasoned veteran to the way things played out between their team during most of the trek. Mishu couldn’t argue with the logic. Though there were other members as capable and lined up within their team, Ika had managed to work closely both with Mishu and with Kumaneko’s, whose dreary mood mirrored the thunderous roars from the heavens above. There was little rhyme or reason to switch out to a new player this far into the game, though the thought entertained the Dark Type trainer’s mind briefly if only to give her small blue squid a break. “Be careful you two, I don’t believe we’re alone.” Words of the obvious poured from Mishu’s thick lips.
“No!” Kumaneko stood up like a beacon shining through the darkness to light the way. These ghostly beasts had bested her and her old friends for far too long. Though she traveled with a caring and kind trainer who would see to her needs as they arose, leaving her to want for very little else beyond their travels and the usual needs all beasts had just to carve out their own existence, she could not say the same for her friends who still hid in the shadows of these powerful thieves. “You need to leave! All of you spirits need to leave this place at once! You’re nothing but a heartache for the true inhabitants of these forests! You chase us all from our homes and try to drag us off to the other world. We’re sick of it and have had enough of this foolishness! My friend is going to make sure you never harm another Pokemon a day in your life!” Kumaneko stated firmly.
Ika appeared as though Kumaneko’s words alone acted as a summoning spell, floating between her and the strange apparition as it tried to hide int the dark greys of the dreary landscape. She squinted, studying only where soft pinks floated in an out of view, and began summoning large balls of dark energy buried deep within her core. “I really want to help you move on.” Ika spoke softly, almost shyly. “But I can’t allow the suffering of others to continue, just to try and help you. So this is for your own good!” She snapped, firing the Dark energy headfirst in the direction she was nearly positive that the strange apparition hid in. Ika just had to hope it was enough to take this strange creature out.

"You need to staaaaaay," the ghost cried out. "If you are too lost, you cannot leaaaaaave." It then cackled as it began to scatter dizzying bright lights towards its foe. Ika would be momentarily blinded by the disorienting beam then left incredibly dizzy. Which was up or down or left or right? Where was the sky or the trees? Which was friend and which was foe. She would be left spinning in a daze for a moment, before finding the focus to make an attack. Her payback landed true and the dark energy slammed into the ghost. It let out a devastated cry. No no no! It couldn't go like this. With a hum and a warble, it regained itself and then got into Ika's face, an eerie blur amongst the sparkles and spots blotting the little squid's vision. "You...cannot...LEAVE!" it hissed with menace, its face contorting into one of pure horror. Too shocking to look away from. Even in her dizzied state, Ika would see and feel that instinctive rooting into place one felt when faced with a predator too dangerous to leave at your back. However, despite the fear that forced its way into her psyche, she managed to throw another payback at the spirit and suddenly... It was gone. And Mishu, now in possession of the cleanse tag, knew what she had to do next.
