After resting up from the encounter with the blacksmith, Ethan switched around his Pokemon party again. He knew that his Pokemon would still got a little training to do, but instead of going to the wilderness right away, why not explore the city again? He studied the local city map carefully in the Pokemon Center before heading out, and found out this Kimono Dance Theater on the guide. He decided to venture out a look, as exploring traditional music could be another source of inspiration. It wasn't like an art museum per say, but if the traditional dance was still performed to this day, then it would a visual and active type of art museum.
He hummed music casually, and stopped by a ramen shop as there was still a few hours until the show. He took his time to enjoy the slick noodle slurping up his mouth, the warm soup comforting his insides, and the ingredients meshing well from textures and flavors. Once he was done, he continued to saunter to the theater, just in time to get himself a seat in the audience. Now he would wait until the show would begin!

Music. A soft and lyrical melody played on ancient instruments meant to keep the rustic charm flowing through the dance theatre. Several bodies gathered around the makeshift tables, short in stature as they were meant to kneel graciously down on the soft pillows placed around them. Some beautiful ladies dressed in very simply and rather plain kimonos, with their hairs pulled back in tight buns that held intricate combs poking out from just over the top of their heads would walk by, bending only slightly to greet each guest, asking them if they needed any refreshments as they enjoyed their evening. The stage was alive! Beautiful women with flowing black hairs all put up in intricate displays and draped with fine accessories danced around each other. They carried gorgeous sensu fans held wide open that they used to cover half their face, so only their eyes peered beyond the golden carvings that lined the rich wooden edges. They danced in a rainbow of colors, each draped in fine Kimonos of various hues – from a bright yellow that burned like the sun itself to a striking black that contrasted her sisters elegantly. And as they danced and spun about, shifting around each other breathtakingly close but never colliding, the crowd cheered excitedly. Eventually, the music died down as the Director stepped out on stage and spoke directly to the crowd. “Audience, please!” He called over the microphone, causing the conversations between acquaintances and close friends that enjoyed the spectacle to die down almost instantly. “Now is the time to announce the lucky winner who will get to meet our girls in person! Please check your tickets for 354!” When Ethan checked his and confirmed he had the winning number, the Director would step off stage long enough to gently help the man up and onto the stage himself. “So you’ll be the lucky person who gets to challenge them in battle! Are you ready, sir?”Miki stepped forward first, though each would follow carefully behind the other with a wide and friendly smile. “Hello handsome trainer! We will each battle you one at a time.” She faded with a nod to her other sister, draped in an elegant yellow wardrobe. “Each of us will only use one Pokemon.” Sayo spoke sweetly, then nodded towards Naoko. “And therefore, you can only use one Pokemon, yourself.” Naoko stated, with a quick nod to Kuni. “You cannot use more than one Pokemon, nor repeat the same Pokemon against more than one of us.” And finally a nod towards Zuki. “And we will only announce who you are battling and which Pokemon we’ll be using once you’ve chosen your Pokemon you’ll be using. Are you ready?” She smiled brightly. The Kimono Girls are challenging Ethan to a battle!      While the girls giggle and prepare to battle, who will Ethan use first? |

Ethan watched the dancing show attentively, as he was mesmerized by the tradition dancing skills that were passed on to this generation of girls. The stage was lively and colorful as the woman wore different colored kimonos, each moving in their own rhythmic way. He was in awe and entranced as he watched the show, and when the show was over, he was initially disappointed. However, that was just the first act! The director spoke up to announce a lucky drawing. He looked at his ticket number, and eyes lit up when the number matched what the director said. If only he had luck as good as this when he played the Johto Lottery!
He took a second to finish drinking his refreshment, before heading up toward the stage. He smiled and greeted them as they explained their instructions. Wow, was his first thought. Only one Pokemon and no repeats? Some of his Pokemon weren't that strong yet and they had their own weaknesses! He wondered if they would be able to handle on their own without the ability to switch them!
"Thank you," He replied to the compliment politely. However, his head was still trying to overthink about his own Pokemon. He thought carefully on what to do, but decided to simply this with some of his "trusty" Pokemon to start. "I am not really ready, but I guess I don't have a choice. Felime, come on out! Start with a Fake Out!" He grabbed a Pokeball and tossed out an elegant and majestic cat.

Silence fell in the room as Ethan thought, what would he chose? Would it be something impressive which would blow away the whole theater, or would it be something boringly mundane that would end the battle before it really began. A quiet disappointed murmur went through the hall as Ethan commented that he wasn't ready, and soured even more when he sounded like he didn't want to. "Then step down and let someone who appreciates the chance!" Someone from the audience called out and more murmurs followed. The Kimono Sisters didn't flinch but kept waiting politely and would smile warmly to Ethan should he look towards them. "Ladies and Gentlemen, don't be harsh now, please! I'm sure its just because our new participant here is feeling unprepared to face our incredible dancers! Show some mercy," the director smoothed from his spot at the side of the stage, and the murmurs quieted down a bit. A quiet groan was heard from some when the very common persian appeared on the stage, and a few folded their arms over their chest in annoyance. The sisters exchanged looks and Sayo, the one draped in yellow, stepped forward. "So you Charge right in lightening fast, I like that," Sayo said with a smirk and pulled a pokeball from a pocket inside her sleeve, it was yellow too. "Let's make this an electrifying battle, shall we? Make it all sparkle to shock the audience!" She grinned as she flicked the pokeball into the air and released a jolteon. The tension in the hall had eased and a few chuckles were heard from Soya's puns. Battle was about to start, "Toshiko, Try quick attack," the kimono sister said but without much energy, her eeveelution flicked her ears back and bolted. Felima was ready though and matched her speed and swung a paw full of razor sharp claws at the electric pokemon's face so that she flinched and stumbled. "It's alright, don't loose your spark! Zap out of it, you know what will come, and I'm positive you'll show what happens when they flick your switch!" She called encouragingly to her jolteon, who shook herself to free herself of tension. The audience seemed displeased with Ethan, first by his initial declaration of unpreparedness, and then his choice of Persian. It wasn't his fault they don't know how to make use of a Persian's full potential. The kimono girl dressed in yellow theme stepped forward, and a girl named Sayo sent out her Jolteon. "Electrifying? That's interesting!" The trainer hummed back at the opponent's words. While the electric type hadn't use an electric move, it was pacing fast for sure, but Felime's Fake Out was able to shut it down the first time this Jolteon was using Quick Attack. "You're doing great, Felime! Keep it up and use Scratch!" Ethan ordered his next move, and the hasty cat made a mad dash forward to assault the opponent fox/cat thingy. OOC: use barscratch x2 |

Perhaps it was due to the contestant actually showing his spunk now that he was getting used to the situation but the crowd seemed much more pleased once the battle had started. The fact that the challenger moved quickly and a well-placed Fake Out did the job sent them into a frenzy. Yet things were not so easily won even as Sayo seemed quite excited for the battle and seemed to push the crowd to react just as much. "I'm hoping you'll put on quite the shocking show!" she encouraged between her jolteon and the trainer. This time fierce claws came and landed quite a blow on her pokemon. "Shake off that bad spark, let's zap them with something they've never seen before. Let's charge up a double kick!" she responded as the pokemon responded shaking its spikes and leaping forward to give two strong kicks of its paws but even Sayo could tell that her jolteon was feeling the burden of the attacks. "Charge that spark inside you! Let's give them a sparkle they'll never forget." encouraged by the cheering the jolteon sent sparks over its fur and jumped forward moving before the feisty feline. "Give it another good kick or two!" she called as the jolteon once more struck the cat before claws racked across its body and the eevelution was defeated. "A sensational shocking debut" as the crowd cheered and she recalled her pokemon. "It's not the conclusion quite yet, we still have quite the lineup." she said offering the young man the prize of defeating her but he would need to choose his next pokemon and then one of the Kimono girls would present themselves as his next challenger. Sayo quite fired back with her response, much like her lightning Pokemon. The Jolteon had the drive and power with its Double Kicks, that if Felime didn't lead with a Fake Out, Ethan's first round of battle would have been a very close match! Thankfully, Ethan was glad his Pokemon was faring well against the electric kitty. In a battle of cats, may the sharpest claws win!
"Thanks, you too! You and your Jolteon did great too!" Ethan replied as Sayo recalled her Pokemon. Thankfully, with the agreed way of this unusual battle rule, at least his Persian won't be facing another Pokemon with her weakened health. He would now have to think carefully his next Pokemon now. With Sayo out, now there's the rest of the rainbow rangers to defeat. His next other strong Pokemon was his Raticate and his Charizard.
"Ratz, come on out! Start with a Sword Dance!" He quickly decided and tossed out a Pokeball. Going with normal types against the unknown might be an okay strategy. What if his opponent had a rock type move or water type against his Charizard?

As Sayo stepped away she was quickly replaced by Kuni and her Vaporeon. As impressive as Ethan had been to defeat Sayo's Jolteon it's lack of an electric type attack that could cause damage was not something Ethan could count on again. " I must say it is not often Jolteon loses a battle so quickly, I am Kuni and my Vaporeon here is Lucid. I want to see if your previous victory was just a fluke or if you truly are a skilled trainer." Before she could even give Lucid the order to strike however Ratz had already begun boosting his attack with Sword Dance. Such a dangerous nove meant she could waste no time in causing as much damage as possible. " Quick Lucid use Water Gun before that Raticate can grow any stronger. It will likely cause a lot of damage if it manages to strike you now." Lucid then fired off a weak stream of water at Ratz who quickly shook off the small amount of water none too happy about getting wet from the attack. Kuni knew this next round was going to be far more difficult but she hoped Lucid would be able to endure enough attacks to still come out on top. " I certainly have the feeling that last victory was no fluke but as long as we can still battle we will give it our all."As they all waited for the next round to start Lucid's small advantage did not look very impressive as any of the Kimono girls had hoped. To all of them it was quite clear once Ratz got a chance to strike that it was going to be bad. Trainer Battle

"Hello Kuni. I can't be that bad of a trainer if I have four gym badges under my belt," Ethan smiled, flaunting his gym success. He would show them his gym badges, if requested, but otherwise, it was based on his words for now. "Kuni and Lucid, both names sound nice." He watched as the Vaporeon fired a water gun that paled nothing to the Raticate. This normal type Pokemon would need a stronger hit than that to take him out of the game. With his vigor and enthusiasm warmed up by the Sword Dance, the eager Raticate was ready to wreck havoc on the opponent water type. "You're doing great, Ratz! Use Facade!" The trainer grinned and called out his next order. The Raticate stared closely at the Vaporeon as he prepared for a deadly Facade. OOC: well i hope a quick mod discussion was created to add an electric move to jolty  Toxic orb activated Facade use bar

It did not look like winning was going to happen for Kuni. "Lucid! Use water gun again, knock it out quickly!" she called out, but Ratz was far too fast, and that swords dance boosted facade was just too much. The speedy rat got close to Lucid, who breathed in to prepare a watery retaliation, but in one quick slam of its furry body, Ratz knocked the bulky water-type out cold. Poor Lucid sprawled there for a moment, dazed in defeat, before Kuni could return the vaporeon to its ball. "Oh my...it seems indeed your victory was not a fluke. And you did give it your all. Though even with this victory, our challenge is not over. Choose your next pokemon, trainer." She stepped back amongst the other kimono clad girls, watchful, waiting to see what Ethan would send out next before one of her peers moved forth to offer him a challenge. Surely he wouldn't so easily sweep them all. Right? It was not often a trainer came in her prepared to take them all down, no matter which pokemon faced their eeveelutions.

Ethan had been running a good streak so far. His Pokemon took care of the girls' Pokemon like a champ, short and quick. He might not be the brightest bulbasaur in the room, but he could clearly see that they all had an Eevee evolution. With the Vaporeon and Jolteon battled, he wondered who would be the next one. He had been using his "safe" Pokemon so far, but now his Pokemon really could have a type disadvantage or advantage. He took a gamble and decided on his Charizard, as now there would surely be no Vaporeon against his fire type!
"Thank you Kuni. Your Vaporeon did great too!" He sparked with a grin. "Now that I know you won't be using a water type, it's a good time for me to use my fire type Pokemon then. Come on out, Dynner!"
Out from his Pokeball was a Pokemon much taller and brighter than the other two he had sent out. A very orange skinned Charizard appeared, roaring as he spawned. As soon as he felt the floor board, he had the bright idea to float on the air a little, just enough to scratch his toe nails on the wooden floor to create a disturbing and unnerving sound. The mischievous duo type chuckled as people winced in the audience section.
"Dynner, let's start with an Air Slash!" He called out an order, not even waiting to see what Pokemon would appear next. Though it would make sense that if it was a Flareon, his flamethrower would be useless.

It was Zuki who stepped forth to meet the challenge. Her robes were as dark as the pokemon she sent forth to face him. It was not an flareon who stood across from his Dynner, but an umbreon. "I see why you have chosen fire now that you have defeated those of us using water or electricity. But Uma has a few tricks to handle foes like you." She hid her face behind a fan, "Uma...why don't we show him the power and beauty of the shadows. Confuse ray!" Uma let out a cry and the rings on his fur glowed. He was braced and ready to dazzle the charizard dizzy, but the air slash that slammed into him was so sharp and startling that Uma's attack was interrupted. He flinched. Hard. His fur stood up on end and he grit his teeth as he tried to recenter himself and control his breathing. "Oh my. That does put us in a bit of a predicament," Zuki murmured. "No matter. Uma can handle himself, even when the odds are against us." Wild Encounter

Charizard is level 38 so i hope it's just an error on the "screen"

Ethan waited for the first round of battle to be completed before speaking again. "Hmm. Confuse Ray would definitely be tricky if it worked successfully. I am lucky that Air Slash was enough to put a stop on that." He was wondering how many times can his Charizard flinch that Umbreon, as it would be hazardous if the confuse ray hit that fire lizard dragon. He tried to distract Zuki by asking more questions. "What other tricks does your Umbreon know?" He asked curiously, nothing could be as bad as a Confuse Ray, he thought.
"Keep it up, Dynner! Use Air Slash again and again!" He ordered his Pokemon as the fire lizard continued flapping his mighty wings that would create some sharp and witty air into the direction of the Umbreon. He would wonder how would Zuki and her Umbreon respond.

"It won't continue to help you," Zuki said confidently, she had trained her umbreon well, surely he would be able to look past Dynner's intimidating exterior and power and do what he needed to do. "Uma, let your dark powers show through and confuse it before you hit it with it," Zuki said theatrically, orbs began to swirl around the umbreon but Dynner was faster. He whipped up a strong wind which sliced through the orbs and forced Uma to stagger back. He was not going to let that stop him and a dark orb began forming in his mouth, but Dynner let his razor sharp winds whirl again and the orb shattered upon contact, exploding and threw Uma back where he laid still. "Uma!" Zuki gasped and momentarily forgot to pose calm and be stoic as she rushed to her fainted pokemon whom she kneeled at. The audience didn't hold it against her, as they murmured sympathy and awe for the powerful charizard. The director cleared his throat and Zuki blushed. She quickly regained her lofty expression and recalled Uma, she bowed briefly to Ethan, "you know how to train your pokemon," she said gently and quickly joined her sisters. Now they all waited once again, to see who Ethan would pick as his next pokemon. Wild Encounter

 Dynner knows how to rattle his opponents and he grows (32*50)1600 exp! (2368/4447) Who is Ethan going to pick next? (ooc: Looks like it was the wrong level last round as Dynner's hp was too highe, which I have corrected. The damage done was within the range for what he could have done on both levels, so no need to change anything there ^^ And I rolled for flinching first, Uma flinched both rounds.)

Ethan was equally surprised too by the power of the Air Slash making the Umbreon flinching from using a move. This was technically the first time he saw such a move in action, since the last time the Charizard used the move, it was kind of too dark out and he wouldn't be able to see anything anyways. "Wow! I am surprised! Great job, Dynner! You served up a hot dish!" He cheered and thanked his Pokemon, making a food pun along the way.
"Thank you, Uma. Dynner is probably my most powerful one right now, depending on how you put it." He replied humbly, as he wasn't the type to rank his Pokemon by their power and output.
However, the trainer also knew they weren't done, as there was two more dancers that hadn't stepped forward yet. He was weary of which order the Flareon would come out, as some of his Pokemon in his party would be vulnerable to fire type attacks. Thankfully, he still had one Pokemon that could act as a great tester against whatever last two Pokemon would be, no matter the order.
"Disco, you're next! Use Calm Mind and then Earth Power!" He hollered out his next moves. He didn't really care what might come next, as an Earth Power alone might be devastating after a Calm Mind boosting the Baltoy's innate magic.
