Name: Alex Arno
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Appearance: Alex is Caucasian, being slightly tanned, he stands at 6' 2". He has short, brown hair, which he keeps mostly neat, since he is supposed to be able to blend in rather then look like a Police officer. He is fairly muscular from his own workout, which is based of the workout used by the Police Department of Fuchsia City, as well as the workout that is mandated by the International Police Force, both of these allow him to stay in shape. Alex also has several scars on his body, most of which being on his hands and torso. The ones on his hands are mostly from stupid things he did as a child, on his torso it is mainly work related wounds from being attacked.
For clothes he generally wears what will allow him to best blend in for the area, he also has a uniform, which he'll wear every now and then based on the job he has at hand. Alex also sometimes wears a utility belt, provided of course that he is wearing a coat that could cover it, which he does most of the time as he'd need to cover his normal belt anyway. His utility belt serves the same purpose as his normal belt, but allows him to carry more of his equipment at one time, he normally wears these belts off-duty as well. Alex also has an International Police force badge, with the badge number of 2266.

Personality: Alex is very cool headed, very rarely getting angry and goofing off even less, as he feels that either one will make him less efficient with his duties, unless of course they would help him blend in. However while he does not show it much, he cares very much for his fellow officers and the people and Pokemon that they are supposed to protect, and regardless of the mission Alex feels that protecting them is his primary duty, due to this he is willing to do anything to protect any of them.
He feels that way because when he had been younger and in the Kanto Police Force, specifically he was in the department in Fuchsia City, his Growlithe had been killed in the line of duty while saving Alex from a member of Team Rocket, since Alex had been trying to play the hero and get a medal and had blindly rushed in to try and arrest him, getting wounded by the Rocket in the process. The Growlithe had been able to wound the Rocket before succumbing to her wounds, and this allowed the other officers that arrived to arrest the Rocket.
Alex had of course blamed himself for this since he had been trying to become famous and move up in the ranks rather then protecting his partner. Which put him into serious depression for some time, even making him leave the Pokemon division for a time and just becoming a regular officer again on top of him releasing every Pokemon he had caught up to that point because he didn't want to put them at risk through his actions.
He came out of his depression when his girlfriend, Gwen Wayne, had brought home a young Growlithe as a pet that she had found on her way home from work, the Growlithe loved being around Alex, though he could not stand to be around the Growlithe when he first met it, he soon began to like the Growlithe and as he spent more time with it noticed that he acted a lot like Alex's Growlithe had acted, though he was more reckless which caused Alex to begin to do what he could to prevent harm to the young Growlithe (As a note, no I'm not planning on using the Growlithe for fighting at all, he's the pet of Alex's girlfriend and not Alex's Pokemon at all.). Because of this he also decided that he would do everything in his power to keep his fellow officers an the public safe from harm.
Alex is also somewhat strict, and believes that force will solve problems faster and more efficiently then any other means. About the only thing that can get him angry easily are people insulting or attacking his teammates.
History: Alex was born in Fuchsia City of Kanto, his parents being from America, but were living in Kanto because it was near the base his father had been stationed at while in the military. They had decided to stay in Kanto after Edward (Alex's father.) had retired from the military when the war had ended. Sometime after this they had moved to Fuchsia City and Alex was born, giving Edward and Stacy their first and only child. Edward had joined the Kanto police force after leaving the military, and due to this Alex grew up very close to the police force and because of this he decided that he wanted to become a police officer like his father at a young age. Though aside from this Alex's childhood was fairly normal, he got slightly above average grades, with his best grades being in math, but he still did stupid things like any other kid.
When he was thirteen, Alex also began taking an interest in physics, and how things were affected by physics, and he often played around with this in his head. Though two years later when he was fifteen, this was soon replaced with thoughts of what to do to become a police officer. As such he began researching everything he could so that he would know everything he needed to become a police officer. Around this time he met his girlfriend Gwen, her father was also in the police force, so they got along rather well when they first met, and it didn't take long for that to go to dating. But because he was trying to get into the police this didn't leave him much time for her or for raising his Pokemon, so she tried her best to support him, as she wanted him to become a police officer and she even took care of his Pokemon for him when she had the time.
When he had finished going to school at age eighteen, Alex had tried to get into the police force when he first had the chance, and while he had succeeded in getting into the police, his rating was about average, not that this was a problem since he was still an officer. He had started out as a regular officer when he was nineteen, but after four months there he transferred to the Pokemon division, which was standard as they wanted to be sure that the officers were ready to us Pokemon in a Law Enforcement capacity. After getting into this division he mainly used the Growlithe that he had been given by the department, she soon became his favorite, and even though she couldn't talk to humans was the much more cool-headed one.
Though Alex only worked with her for three months they became very close in that time, but after three months on the job they had gone to check on a report about a suspicious man that had apparently kidnapped a young child who was thought to be a member of Team Rocket, and Alex was upset that he had not yet gotten a medal, so he ran into the building the the Rocket was supposed to be hiding in, and Growlithe had of course followed him rather then leaving him to his fate, but she had been unable to prevent him from being attacked by the Rocket, who had seen Alex heading for the building and waited for him, attacking him with a crowbar when he had entered the building. The Rocket had missed the Growlithe though, which allowed her to attack him.
Even after the Rocket started to attack her she continued to bite him in an attempt to pin him down so that he couldn't go after Alex again, though eventually she was too weak to continue holding onto the Rocket, though due to his wounds he was trying to get away rather then stay there, but the other responding officers arrived and arrested him for assault on two officers (I'm guessing Pokemon in the police are treated like K-9 units, which means they'd be considered police officers.), though this soon became one count of assault and one murder charge when Growlithe had died of her wounds. Alex wasn't considered to be at fault, since even though they now knew that there was no child involved they had not known this when Alex had gone in, so to his knowledge he had been going to save a child.
Due to this he wasn't punished anymore then he already had been from his own wounds and the loss of his partner, though he definitely wasn't praised since he could have handled his entrance much better rather then just rushing in. But after Growlithe had been buried at the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Alex had left the Pokemon division, going back to his original job as a regular officer and had released the rest of his Pokemon, Gwen had even moved in with Alex because of how depressed he had gotten, and this helped him a lot, it was probably the main reason he didn't fully quit as a police officer. He was typically only moody when off-duty though, as he was preoccupied with work when he was on-duty.
This continued for two months before Gwen had brought a stray Growlithe home, she hadn't planned to keep him because she knew Alex would feel bad around the Growlithe, but both of their fathers thought it would be good for him and talked her into keeping the Growlithe, who had already cared very much for Gwen and Alex, even though Alex wasn't to happy about him being around. But this soon passed as Alex began to like the young Growlithe, since as it turned out the more experienced officers (Their dads.) were right in that it would be good for him. His personality also drastically changed, as now he cared more about protecting his fellow officers and the public, even if it places him into more danger, he had decided that his Growlithe had been the one with the right mindset and was acting more like her in that regard.
He still has dreams about that day from time to time, but is over his depression, when he is at home he constantly plays with Growlithe, or "Alphonse" as Gwen calls him. He continued on as a regular officer for several more years, before he had asked Gwen to marry him and they are now engaged, he then decided to join the International Police force at age twenty nine, of course after talking it over with Gwen, he was a bit reluctant for a while because he'd need to use Pokemon again, and he did not want them in danger, but he also saw it as a way to make it up to his old Growlithe rather then hiding from the past. He was accepted into the International Police force, but hadn't been expecting to be assigned in Johto, at least not this quickly as he had still been living in Fuchsia.
Due to his recent assignment he is actually just settling into his apartment, he is trying to keep in contact with his family, though mainly his fiancee. He misses Kanto but understands that his work in Johto is important, and so Alex is going to do his best so that he can get home soon and get married.
